Had a great experience at La Mar! Everything we ordered was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can really tell they use high-quality ingredients. The drinks were just as impressive, well-balanced, refreshing, and the perfect complement to the food. The service and atmosphere made the experience even better, making it a great spot for a date night, happy hour, or dinner with friends. I'd definitely come back again and would recommend giving it a try if you're in Bellevue!

    Beautiful interior! Wonderful food!

Hands down my favorite Bellevue restaurant! From the vibrant fresh flavors, to the amazing staff, this will not disappoint! Make sure you check out the Pisco Hour and the Chef's tasting menu! Beautiful, intimate interior just enhances the experience!

I took my husband here for a birthday lunch and if it's just for the food, I would give it a 4.5/5. The food was excellent with one with one bad part but not enough to deter us from all the other foods. Eggplant dish -berenjena criolla 5/5 -- favorite dish of the day. Love that you can still taste a bit of the fried texture on the eggplant and flavor was nutty, creamy, and citrusy. Achupado 3/5 - this was a good dish, there was a variety of seafood and they were all good except for the octopus. That was inedible. I wished they cut it to smaller pieces so it can be eaten easier or give us a knife but as is, it was way too tough and chewy. Flavors was spot on, I do wish they gave more noodles to absorb the sauce Ceviche tasting - 5/5 love the variety. All of them was fresh, tangy and flavorful Complimentary corn - 5/5 this was addicting Service 3/5 : our server was very knowledgeable, he gave us a little of a tour of the menu, cam check on us a couple of times. However, I wish he would have clearly explained that the executive lunch was for the whole table, not just individual. Also, cleaning our table while we are still there is a bit rude in my opinion, almost feel like they are rushing us out. The place is fancy and very very pricey. Good for special occasions or once in a while splurge.

Really enjoyed our experience here. Came at 5:30 on a Friday evening without a reservation. There was plenty of seating in the lounge area and we were seated quickly. The lounge was really trendy and perfect for enjoying happy hour which is M-F, ending at 6pm. Food came out incredibly fast. Pisco sours were $9 and cebiches and other apps were $15-20ish which is a deal compared to their normal menu and would recommend if you're hoping to try this place. We also ordered a few items off the normal menu. All the food was delicious, but I will say the portions are quite small. Service and ambiance were both great. Did not give five stars only because I'm not sure the strep price is justified but we did enjoy our time here.

Fancy Peruvian restaurant. Seafood was fresh and the overall flavors were very balanced My factories included the yuca fries, seafood pasta, and the pulpo - Full of umami flavor and rich texture I didn't like my pisco sour - not eggy or foamy at all. Overall expensive fine dining with extremely professional service (our waiter was really good with introductions and recommendations and I wish I caught his name) and a safe spot for birthday celebrations etc. especially for seafood lovers

Very nice in terms of everything! We went for lunch here on a Friday. We did make a reservation in advance but it was not crowded, so I would think walking in would be okay too in lunch hours. But this is a really upscale place and assume the place runs at full capacity during dinner hours. There is parking under the building and you can get your parking ticket validated by your server before leaving - so no stress with parking in downtown. Yes, this is an expensive place but since we were here during lunch hours, we were able to take advantage of the Executive Lunch - Set menu for $45 per person. Among us 3 people, we were able to taste everything available in that set menu and every single dish was amazing - like truly, from presentation to flavors, especially the 3 appetizers - so so very good! This is everything we had - Starters - 1. Sunchoke Cebiche - must try 2. Roquitas Nikkei - must try 3. Clásico Cebiche - must try Main 1. Wild Mushroom Saltado 2. Lomo Saltado 3. Arroz con Mariscos Dessert 1. Tres Leches de Coco - must try Service was very well timed. We had an amazing time. Great place for a team lunch/dinner. Location is perfect, heart of downtown but none of the road noise or human traffic. A wonderful add to downtown Bellevue!

First time here on a whim looking for something different. Sunday night it wasn't too busy and we were able to get reservations booked on the drive into Bellevue. We weren't sure if the prices are aligned with what we ordered. But don't get me wrong, we the food was full of flavor and the presentation beautiful. Would consider this place to bring out of town guests or clients. Very nice, hip, vibe with nice decor. Service was friendly and they checked in on us often. We had the cebiche tasting menu, side of yuca fries, and split the arroz con mariscos. Cocktails were beautiful: pisco and fresa del sol. The stand out was by far the dessert! I would come back again and again just for the tres leches. One of the best desserts we've had in a while... I will probably be dreaming about it over the next few days.

Beautiful decoration with fresh seafood display up front. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch. The ceviche was refreshing and delicious! I would come back just for that. The lunch set was good and ended with a leche dessert that has just the right amount of sweetness and coconut flavor.

La Mar is such a cute and fun spot! My brother and I took our mom there for Mother's Day and got the $79/person tasting menu for all three of us. Each course was bursting with flavor and our server thoroughly explained each course. They had a card on the table for my mom signed by the staff wishing her a happy Mother's Day. And she got sent home with a cute little box of house made chocolates as well! Such a memorable meal and can't wait to come back and try the rest of their menu.

Been here a few times now. First the food and service is always top notch! The staff is friendly and attentive to anything you need. The flavor of the food is exotic and fresh. It's really worth trying. It's pricey for what you get so we don't come often but we have been here 3 times and the bill is the only challenge.

Mi novio made reservations here for my birthday in April (I know I know it's a lateee review) and we had an amazing time! So happy to have a Peruvian restaurant on the Eastside! The restaurant is sooo beautiful. When we arrived it was for dinner and upon entering there was no host present. We waited a few minutes but no one came over so my man decided to walk up the stairs to find someone but a server saw him and asked him if we checked in with a host but we told the server there was no one there. The friendly server helped us and found the host to return to their desk at the entrance. Once sat we admired the beautiful decor and beautiful large menu. My man is Peruvian and was raised in Peru so trying a Seattle Peruvian restaurant is always fun and on the list for us. We always order a Pisco Sour and this one here was beautifully presented and tasty! Veal heart is necessary for me to order and wow was it delicious. The main entree we shared was the Achupado which also was super tasty. Food was presented nicely and was satisfying. Definitely a pricier restaurant so don't know if we'll return but super happy we tried it and marked it off the want to go list! Thank you la mar for a wonderful birthday dinner. All the servers were extremely kind, soft spoken, and helpful. We enjoyed a special occasion here and would recommend it for that :)

Amazing Peruvian restaurant in the Bellevue area. Everything we ate was excellently prepared. The cocktails were great. Our server was very kind, the seating area is large - I ended up ordering the executive lunch. The stars of the show were the arroz con mariscos and the tees leches. Presentation was beautiful and all the seafood was bursting with flavor. Cannot recommend enough for a special occasion or just want a great meal.

Definitely recommend venturing out of Seattle for a tasty meal at La Mar! Came here as part of a group of 7 which allowed us to try a lot of dishes. While all the dishes were good, the highlights of the meal for me were the Planchaza and the Pulpo Crocante. Service was just as good as the food. Parking is on the street or in the structure (validated by restaurant).

I loved it so much I went back again and ordered the same thing! Lol. If you're an empanada lover, this little hidden gem is a must-visit. It's tucked inside Pike Place Market and doubles as a small Latin grocery, stocked with sauces, spices, and other goodies from all over Latin America. Service is fast and friendly, and everything feels super authentic and homey. Just a little FYI: the yellow sauce isn't free, they charge $2 for it, so plan accordingly if you love dipping like I do! Seattle (overpriced) Empanadas in Pike Place Market [Seattle WA]…read more Saw the empanadas in a glass case while navigating our way through the crowded Pike Place Market. It was a busy Thanksgiving weekend. They are located across the Farmers Market. Got two each of the beef and chicken empanadas. They are both tasty and delicious with lots of flavors but they are unreasonably priced at $8 a piece which wasn't stated anywhere on their menu board and only got the shock when I paid for them but the beef is made with lean ground organic beef and the chicken with organic shredded chicken breasts. Maybe that's why? I dunno, organic tends to be more expensive. Each beef or chicken empanada was garnished with onions, garlic, olives, pimientos, raisins, eggs, red & green bell peppers, some yummy spices and sauteed in olive oil and butter... that's a lot of stuff crammed in those empanadas. They also have salmon empanadas and ham and cheese empanadas. I'd probably get my empanadas elsewhere but this was the touristy Pike Place after all. Review #3615

I received a promo for $5 off so I tried to use it the previous time, but she didn't know how to apply it. Then another time when I order The Caribbean Plato with pulled roasted pork, when I got home, I discovered the wrong type of meat (grilled pork instead of pulled pork). For these reasons, I didn't go back for a long time. Today, I went again to get take out for my visitors. I called in the order so I didn't have to wait, but Gisela didn't understand my order and kept getting it wrong. I ordered 3 Caribbean Plato with pulled pork, and 1 Caribbean Plato with chicken thigh, but she kept repeating the wrong order back to me (2 pork, instead of 3, wrong type of meat, etc), so I tried it again and again, still no comprendo. I got frustrated and told her that I would just come in person to order. I was in a hurry, but I had no choice. When I got there, I ordered the same thing, but this time, I gestured the type of pork I wanted, using my hands to show pulled and tried to explain that I wanted the shredded kind, not the solid kind). Someone was with me so he heard my order in plain English. As I was waiting for my order, I decided to ask her once more just to be sure that it wasn't the grilled pork bc she made that mistake last time. Then she said my meat was grilling now. I was alarmed since they don't get the pulled pork from the grill. I told her that I wanted PULLED ROASTED PORK, not the solid grilled patty kind. She said something in Spanish to the guy who was putting my order together and he showed me a sample of the pulled pork so I said "YES" that's the one I want. She said they were already cooking the grilled pork. When I told her that she was giving me the wrong order, she said "it's too late". I was so upset so I said, "why is it so hard to understand my order?" Pulled pork is pulled pork, not grilled pork. I never even mentioned the word "grilled". A guy came out from the kitchen so I explained myself and he said what I want is the pulled roasted pork and I said, "that's what I ordered". She tried to explain something to him in Spanish, but he told her to just give me the pulled pork and I was on my way. She just ruined my day, and I could feel my blood pressure rising. I don't think I will ever return again. It's too hard to explain the right kind of meat to Gisela. Dining out and getting take out should be a pleasant experience, not a stressful one.
