Went here cause I wanted something authentic and quick. Went with a friend on a Friday night around 9:15pm. Gas station - so tacos were good, not really a great place to sit down and eat. Definitely one of those grab & go. I ordered the barbacoa & the chicken on corn tortillas. Yummy! It's amongst one of my tops. I would go back to grab some more only cause it's the closest one to me. Say bruh....this review is about to have NO CHILL. I love a good "street taco" and these bad boys were THE BEST F*CKING STREET TACOS IVE HAD IN YEARS!!! They were prepared with love and affection-- just the way I like them! They had lots of grease and lots of meat, bc I mean nobody likes a dry ass taco. Pretty tasty gas station tacos. Not as good as Fuel City, but definitely a good option if you are craving tacos and are further north. I tried the lengua, barbacoa, and pastor tacos on corn torillas. The lengua was tender and not gamey at all, possibly my favorite out of the three. The pastor was intensely spiced; more so than those at FC and slightly strong for my taste. The barbacoa was juicy and tender but less flavorful than FC's. The salsa verde had a nice medium heat level and was thicker than I'm used to. They also have quesadillas, tortas, and a barbacoa plate. Tacos are $1.15 on corn, more for flour. They also have chicken tacos if you're not into red meat. CASH ONLY! Finally a good street taco in Dallas! With street taco prices! The pastor is incredible, and the chorizo gets an honorable mention as well. The red and green salsas are flavorful and spicy. The wow factor was in the salsa. The red is hot. As in, I got the hiccups, hot. The green sauce also has some kick to it, but is the milder of the two. La Paisanita is inside a gas station on the NE corner of Park and Greenville. As it's inside a gas station, there are a few stools and a table, but it's more of a take-out kind of place. I am pretty sure it's cash only. The two ladies working behind the taco counter were really friendly, but I would stay away from purchasing anything from the actual gas station. While I was waiting, two neighborhood kids got into a verbal disagreement with the gas station owner because the items in the store did not have prices on them. I can verify that indeed: nothing had a price on it. The kids were in the right - they were just trying to buy a snickers and wanted to know the price. The employee/owner wouldn't tell them the price either, he just said he'd ring them up. That seems really shady. Items should be priced. Additionally, only assholes rip-off kids. This taco place/gas station is adjacent to a rough neighborhood. While I was there, just after dusk, a man tried to squeegee my car windshield for cash. I also hear gunshots frequently from this area. Just don't carry in more than $20 or wear a flashy diamond ring. The tacos are worth braving squeegee bums. I needed gas desperately weeks ago and was running on fumes. No, no bodily functions involved. Sorry to disappoint. I pulled into this Chevron mid afternoon and needed a snack to tide me over until dinner. I was thinking Chex party mix or an Ice Cream sandwich. Then I saw the Taqueria inside and heard Angels singing. I just got one Pastor for my test run and it was great. Not too greasy, but just enough to give it a lot of flavor. It was tender with chopped onions, cilantro and grilled onions on the side with a standard lime wedge and a roasted jalapeno. The perfect taqueria taco. I didn't need the red or green salsa for flavor. It had a yummy sweet tang to it and I didn't want to mask the taste with heat. Had I known it was going to be this good I would have gotten more. Loving the gas station tacos. I don't even look at their gas prices, I just go back and am excited I'm almost on empty for my 4th visit coming up. They are very friendly and have just a few places to sit on bar stools if you want to eat inside. You can pay cash directly or take your ticket to the convenience store register and use your card with anything else you may need to pick up. I just like to put a tip in the tip jar though and usually have enough cash for that. The employees have spoken english each time I've been, YES! Good tacos YES! They take credit YES! Is it scary? NO! They have multiple locations, and I'm now wondering how the others measure up. Sorry Heath but I had to laugh. It's not way down Park in that hoodish area. It's at the NE corner at Park and Greenville next to the Great Outdoors and directly across the street from Taco Cabana. I've never been hit up for change, but I haven't been late night either. Speaking of, I think they close around 10pm. Not sure on that score though. This place is one of the little things in life you love. I don't get frustrated needing to stop and get fuel for the car when I can fuel my belly and look forward to it. The tacos hold up well if you get them to go which is nice. I do love my Fuel City, but have learned not to challenge those tacos to the test of time. If this location isn't convenient maybe the others are just as good? I'll follow up if I end up trying a different one. So far no gristle at all earns them a 4 and more. I usually expect at least one bad bite, but I haven't found one yet at La Paisanita. I gave them a 5 at first but had to back down since I like the Flavor at Fuel city better - minus the grease and location. Tough call. read more

okay, so i've started a project of reviewing all the taquerias i frequent. however, i felt i needed to visit each one before reviewing it to ensure accuracy. so i was going to start with this one i love on greenville, but it was closed so i wondered into this ghetto gas station off of greenville and park. like, the store itself isn't ghetto, but be prepared to be approached for change on the way in and on the way out. it's park lane right? this place was one of the best i've had. what luck. because let me tell you, i've also had some bad luck at taquerias over the last couple years. 1. they use yellow corn tortillas 2. they leave them on the grill a while, a little bit of crispy even. 3. double layered tortillas on the tacos. 4. onions and cilantro are fresh and of good quality. I had two al pastor, and one fajita. the fajita was average to above, but the pastor...oh my. chunky pork in a great spicy sauce. but what set this place apart? the salsa, easily. i regularly make my own salsa (fresca version), but i have problems identifying some of the taqueria salsa... or the ingredients rather. but they have a verde and another one that is orange. like japanese mayonaise orange. really really hot..... and really really good. look at the photos i posted to see what i mean. if you count the change i gave out on the way in and the way out, the meal came to $5 total.... for excellence. four stars, without a doubt. read more

The cuisine is the closest thing that I have found to my beloved Mexican food from California and at $1 and some change for each, you can try them all! Tacos are yummy, buttery and full of flavor, and they have a special and I believe homemade salsa verde that I've never tasted b4 that is very delicious. I've been unable to find it anywhere else. The lady with the blonde hair really knows how to cook and season the meat just right so I try to come at night when I know she's cooking. I'm trying to find a place close to me that measures up to this place but haven't found any yet that are just as good. The only thing that is not recommended is the rice, it was just plain hard rice. The place is in a rough area, so their are bums all around begging for change, but the tacos are worth it. read more
