La Parma, I've been here before and it was solid so I decided to go with the family on new years. This was our experience, took 15 minutes for drinks, my mom never got her coke at all. Waiter didn't know the specials told us 2 out of the 5, never knew they had lobster ravioli as a special. So we place our order, fried zucchini for an app, mussels, baked ziti and chicken la Parma for entrees, placed Order at 7:50, appetizers came at 8:35, tables everywhere were being served ahead of us after we placed our order, kitchen organization? Food was all amazing but the service was awful. And for dessert, who the hell has the nerve to charge 8.25 for a canoli granted it was great and nicely sized not worth 8.25. I'll be back just hope the service is better. read more

Recently I have noticed diminishing family style portions sizes at this restaurant. Last night it went from small to ridiculous. Ordered baked clams, broccoli rabe, shrimp la palma, veal parm and pasta marinara, 3 glasses of wine And 2 desserts 260 bucks including tip. All dishes tasted great but portions were offensive. Veal parm was 30 bucks had two paper thin veal cutlets. Cutlets sliced in half and plated on four plates. That was sad very sad and after dropping plenty of dough here I am finally out. Even pasta dishes were clearly stingy. I've been noticing empty tables there on a Saturday nite which was never the case. I believe I'm not the only patron that feels like their being fleeced being served skimpy family style portions. Food and service is excellent but skimpy portions have become an affront. BEST. ITALIAN. FOOD. ON LONG ISLAND. PERIOD. Might not be the most romantic place, might get crazy busy and annoying having to wait, might be annoying to deal with the valet parking, might be heavy on your wallet.....DEFINITELY will NOT regret going once you start eating. Fried zucchini, stuffed artichoke, fresh mozzarella/tomato, baked clams are all appetizers I HIGHLY recommend. However, the stuffed mushrooms are the best you will find ANYWHERE, in fact, I believe God serves them in Heaven the day you arrive, that's how good they are. The mushrooms are perfect every time, and the sauce on them is so good, it's like God made it himself. If God put a bottle of sauce next to his Holy water, this would be his Holy sauce. And for an entree, I know it sounds simple and generic, but trust me, get the Penne alla Vodka with prosciutto. Again, best you will find ANYWHERE. The white clam sauce is also incredible, and anything red is amazing too (Chicken parm, ravioli, etc). Everything they make is outstanding, but I swear, if I knew when I was going to leave this Earth, I would request that my last meal would be from this restaurant, and I would get Stuffed Mushrooms, Fried Zucchini, Penne alla Vodka with prosciutto, and a nice piece of Napoleon. So if you didn't get the hint yet, when you go here, get these, in this order: 1) Stuffed Mushrooms (App) 2) Fried Zucchini (App) 3) Penne alla Vodka with prosciutto (Entree) 4) Napoleon (Dessert) All time favorite meal....anywhere.....ever. If you're not a fan of any of these, just substitute for whatever it is that you enjoy normally at other places, and I promise no matter what you get, it will be among the best you've ever had. These people know what they're doing. Please note, it's family style, so it's expensive, but you get a lot of food, so be prepared. Go with a few people, or just go, and take whatever is leftover home with you and be happy you can enjoy this incredible meal for a 2nd time. This is the place to go if you want really good Italian, and not leave hungry. Started with baked clams and very tender calamari, both were awesome. Onto the mains, Linguine with white clam sauce is outstanding as well as the chicken parmigiana. Service could be slow during busy hours, especially on Sundays, but it's a small price to pay since it's so popular. Since they have a great selection of desserts, it's a tough choice but oh, so delicious. Go hungry and enjoy. read more

Everything is always top shelf and well executed at La Parma. From the hospitality, the wine list and the incredible dishes. Ask for Vincent to take care of you if youre dining, if hanging at the bar alexia will make sure you have an awesome time. We went for dinner during Restaurant Week.We find Restaurant Week to be a wonderful time to try new places that can become favorites, just like the Babylon Carriage House has become for us.It was a very busy night. The tables were very close together, I had to squeeze sideways to exit.It was well run,the server was excellent, the food was terrific, no disappointment there.My husband is now a big fan of Tartufo, the presentation elegant.He loved his chicken scarpariello and I loved the stuffed mushrooms, tasted homemade.The only downside was when we requested more coffee and the waiter told us "no refills." We are mature adults who have been to many restaurants and we have never been told this is a fine dining establishment. It left us with an uncomfortable feeling, and we left in a negative state of mind.It was disappointing to end a great meal on a negative note.Too bad! read more

Oh La Parma .. La parma.. What happened to ALL the garlic..???!!!!!! Gone are the days the dishes came out with 12 -14 giant cloves of garlic. The Garlic is half the size now and half the amount . We were lucky if our $14 broccoli rabe had 5 small cloves in it . I recently moved back to Long Island so it's been awhile since Ive been here..but have had nothing but great memories. Well boy oh boy has that changed . Brought 2 friends last night who have never been and I had been raving to them to get ready for the BEST Italian food around. .. Sorry to report I was so disappointed:( .. Opted for the beat salad to start rather than the house chopped salad. Salad was tasty minus the truffle oil dressing .Opt for there house dressing instead. Then came out the baked clams and zuppa de mussels.. Baked clams were dry, no garlic and somewhat fishy not at all how I remembered .. The mussels had pretty much 6 small cloves of garlic however sauce was still ok. Certainly not the 14 giant cloves it use to have.. Shrimp la Parma was still excellent and white clam sauce was still good but again lacking all that signature garlic .. Not as many chopped clams on top either. Chicken scarp a fan favorite was extremely dry and uneventful .. The sausage was barely cooked and the potatoes peppers and onions weren't even hot and just dumped on top all for an extra .$14.95..really?! All and all bill was $265.. Incl tip for a depressing experience .. Please La Parma go back to your roots and stop catering to whole wheat and gluten free pasta customers with annoying special orders. You've really lost what made you so great. read more

We had a decent time here but compared to piccola bussola next door it is less stellar. Less menu offerings. Quite pricey for what they offer. My husband enjoyed his veal parmigiana. But I was surprised that a special of the day, seared scallops four to an order, that the waiter told us about verbally, although delicious was astoundingly expensive. He never told us that it was if I remember correctly $36 (for four pieces ). I expected to have been told of the cost before we had ordered it. $25 would have been plenty. $30 and above for such was obscene. And considering that we were not told of the cost felt deceitful. With drinks and all for two people cost us about $185. Pretty steep for less than stellar food . read more

I came to La Parma II with my girlfriend and was impressed the second I walked in the door. The hostess was extremely friendly and we were able to be sat immediately although it was clearly a busy night at the restaurant. Chris, our waiter, was very helpful and attentive to us the entire time and recommended the chicken Napoli which was delicious. It was so good we finished the entire thing even though the portion was huge!!!! Chris then steered us in the right direction again as he suggested the tartufo or the cannoli for dessert. We couldnt just get one as they looked so good so we got them both... and let me tell you the tartufo knocked our socks off. I recommend La Parma II to anyone in the area and beyond. Booked a reservation months in advance and was jammed in to a tight space with people standing around the table. Manager was not helpful at all in resolving. Food is not on par with other family style restaurants in the area. Terrible experience. Will never go here again. read more

I usually get take out from here and every time I do it's been great! My favorites are linguine with white clam sauce and the penne al vodka with added spinach in it! I tried piccolo bisscua next store and it had. No match to la Parma ! Probably one if the best Italian family styles on Long Island! The food is excellent but I would advise against ordering food out from this restaurant. The portion sizes are criminal - a far cry from "family style" portions. A 30$ order of chicken francese was equivalent to 2 small chicken breasts, hardly enough to feed one person. read more

We had about 20 people for a family members 50th birthday back in April 2015. We had never been here as we have a favorite family style place we swear by (Steves Buscola in Westbury) that being said we went here....The service was excellent and every single dish that hit the table was outstanding!!! There are not enough words to describe how outrageous every single bite of food at La Parma is. I have never had a bad taste of anything there ever. The homemade pasta is out of this world. Stepping into this small but cozy restaurant, I was happy to be eating a "good italian meal". Being my mother and father were both born there, my expectations were set high. There was plenty of food to go around family style; wish I could say there was plenty of stalls for the family. I was at a party this past weekend and what I thought was a happy gathering ended in me getting violently ill. Never did I ever see the light flash between me eyes. Not only did I get sick but other family members of a decently large party (40+). Needless to say, I'm writing this feeling slightly better but with the shakes and shits (sorry for the visual). I was disgusted by the treatment my group received at the restaurant. Before being seated we were told the staff just needed to clear off the table and reset it. As they finished setting up our table for us, another party that was seated AT ANOTHER TABLE and was almost done with their meal got up and started yelling that it was their table and carried their plates over to that table. Rather than stop them, management's response to us was "well, they're yelling at me". We then had to wait to take over that group's now discarded table which was not even turned over for us until we pointed out that it needed to be done. If I hadn't been with a group, I would have walked out at that point. The management didn't seem to care. No apology was offered. Maybe the restaurant has enough regulars that they don't care but I will definitely not be one of them. The food is not good enough to put up with that type of behavior. There are much better places for Italian food elsewhere on the Island. read more

What can I say about La Parma? I can start by saying this is by far one of my all time favorite restaurants! From the food, to the service, to the entire experience, I fall in love with the place more each time I go! We have been coming to this restaurant now for well over 10 years and have had an amazing time each and every time we go in! The manager Vincent always has a smile on his face, always suggests great food and wine when we cannot decide what to get, he is truly a pleasure and you can tell he takes pride in his job, which makes it even better when you go there! All of the servers are friendly and polite, I have never had an issue with any of them! As far as the food goes, the chef has talent like you wouldn't believe! The specials that they offer are always worth it, I suggest if they recommend something, you listen! They know their stuff! From the fried calamari, fried capalini cakes, to every single pasta dish that they offer, you will truly never be disappointed when you go in! I have been in with a large group of 15 and also a small party of two and have a great experience either way! If you are looking for a place that makes you feel like family, with a very great menu and atmosphere, surrounded by people who love their job, I highly suggest you visit La Parma 2, once you go there once you'll be back for more, trust me we are regulars go more than 2 times a month!
