Came here last night for dinner and started out with the bread basket. There was something seriously wrong with the butter that came with it. It's as if someone made it ahead of time and refrigerated it along other foods. It had a terrible taste and I know I wasn't the only one because the table across from me was also complaining. I ordered a Cesar salad that was not good at all and my friend had the Burrata salad with roasted red peppers. The cheese tasted old as if it was expired. We shared a chicken Parmesan which was just mediocre. The prices are so expensive and does not reflect the food served. Please save yourself and go somewhere with better quality food. read more

Very disappointed in this restaurant. Went online to look at menu and prices. I ordered over the phone and thought it weird that I was not told total which should have been around $130. Picked up order and was told bill was $165. They raised prices between $5 and $7 each item. Chicken scap went from $26 to $33. Manager told me they can charge what they want and asked me if I saw increase in supermarket. Not close to what they gauged me. Will not return. Buyer beware. read more

The mussels and clams and pasta dishes and meat dishes are all just exactly what you want. The seafood linguini will make you a true believer, will put hair on your wife's chest, and will make your balls drop. It's family style, so get ready to be fat. Is it expensive...eh...depends. The seafood marinara over angel hair pasta (amazing) is $38.50, but you can feed 4 people with that and it would be a filling meal. Add in some mussels at $19.75 and a few $2 cokes and a carafe of chianti ($16) and a meal for four can come to $115.15 + tip. In my book, that's pretty good. read more

I've been coming to La Parma for every birthday, holiday and special occasion since I can remember. If I was on death row, my last meal would have to be from here. First off, they have what a lot of places don't - authenticity. Their waiters are Italian-American and know how to treat you right. They crack their jokes, they know what's fresh, and most importantly (if you're a first timer) they know how much food you'll need. Since I've been here at least 25 times, I'll just list off some of my favorite dishes: Zuppa de Mussels - Mussels are great, but the sauce is AMAZING. When the mussels are gone, it's hard not to take a spoon and just slurp it up. My sister, who HATES mussels even loves this dish just because of the sauce. Chicken Scarpariello - The ONLY way to order this is white meat only, with the works (sausage, potatoes, peppers and onions). Consider getting the half order if you don't know what you're getting yourself into. This dish is not only delicious, but could feed a single person for about 3 weeks straight. Penne alla Vodka - I know you can get this anywhere on long island, but for some reason La Parma's vodka sauce with the prosciutto tops my list. Very rich and creamy and worth every bite. Those are just the highlights, but pretty much everything at this place is amazing. From the warm La Parma Salad to tartufo for dessert. Authentic and amazing (and is waaaaaaaaaaaaay better than Piccolo Bussola down the street). Only negative is that they don't take reservations (except for a couple of random holidays) - so get here early, or prepare to wait a little while because the dining room is a little small. read more

Amazing. I highly recommend going enough times to try everything they have to offer. You will never be disappointed. It's a real treasure to have Italian food prepared in such a way that not only do you think to yourself, "why doesn't it taste like this every time?" but you'll also think, "why don't I have it this way every time from now on?". I can't say enough good things about my experiences have been here. It's not a place that has the most spectacular decor or fancy plates/silverware. Any added elegance to it's environment would only pale in comparison to the superiority the food has over any thing else there is to experience. I've never been disappointed and continue to be surprised at the culinary experiences I have at this wonderful Italian restaurant in Huntington. Do you, your family and friends a favor and take them to one of the BEST Italian restaurants you can find on Long Island, in New York and in the United States. Every one tries a little bit of everything, its not just dinner, its a culinary dining experience. They have a decent selection of wines, and if you're dining family style, you can even go with a few bottles, and try a little bit of everything. Their calamari, salads, and seafood dishes are all consistently delicious. Their pasta dishes are all flavorful, and you can def taste the flavors in the dishes which is sometimes hard with Italian dishes. Even their desserts are good! All are consistently good food. The service depending on peak vs non-peak hours can be spotty, but if you grab the attention of a server, they are more than happy to cater to your requests. read more

Ate here a few weeks ago with two friends and didn't wish to go negative but...Not so great, COVID aside. Food meh at best and tiny portions, service was beyond crazy. Couldn't find a manager, one mistake after another. $36 for a half bottle of a decent white. We never saw the wine price list because we never got one, we could have asked first but really? (had to ask for the regular menus after sitting for quite some time) and that was when the server came to take our order! Before we had menus. No talk of specials, "no family style outside" ridiculous there were two tables being served inside otherwise empty. Why no family style? COVID -19 is no excuse for this. After the debacle no offer to buy us coffee, desert, glass of wine, nothing. I blame the management not the servers who were overwhelmed and poorly trained. Needed to order in some family-style for a group of friends tonight, and we remember really liking La Parma ll I. The early pandemic. I never write poor reviews, but the food was so weak and awful tonight, that I had no choice. We ordered Chicken Parm, Meatballs, Linguine w/ White Clam Sauce, Caesar Salad, etc.....and everything tasted either awful, or had no flavor, except perhaps too much salt. It was so bad, that our kitchen didn't even remotely smell appetizing from the spread of food. They are fooling NO ONE! I will NEVER EVER be ordering from there again. One of my favorite places. You don't get many family style places anymore. The staff is great. They make the experience feel old school. The menu is great. The shrimp la Parma is a must. Amazing flavor and the sauce is great. The muscles in the white sauce are killer. We always take home the left over sauce it is that good. The fish and chicken dishes are great. My family and I have been coming to La Parma II for years. This place has some of the best Italian cuisine on the island. Yes it's always crowded and noisy, but it's totally worth it for the food. Every Christmas my family loves to keep the Italian traditions alive, so we do the many different varieties of seafood dishes, and most of those we get are from La Parma. Every year we get the linguine with white clam sauce, fried zucchini and the out-of-this-world zuppa de mussels. There is never one mussels left uneaten and we package up what's left of the sauce and use it for pasta...and that's if my nana and I don't sop it all up with our scraps of bread. Eating in can be a little hectic if you don't like tight spaces, crowds, or loud noise. It's ALWAYS busy. But the valet parking, friendly and knowledgeable staff help to make it a more pleasant experience. Delizioso! Give it a try! read more

La Parma is definitely the kind of place you go to with a large party and not two people. Their family-style serving encourages a party to split many dishes amongst themselves. When I went, my party of 9 split baked clams, a chopped house salad and a stuffed artichoke for appetizers. For our entrees we split Penne a la vodka, the chicken Parmesan and spaghetti with the house's meat sauce. All in all, for how much the bill was I was pretty unsatisfied with the meal. Other than the chicken Parmesan I didn't think anything was particularly great. The meat sauce was pretty bland, and when we ordered a side of broccoli with garlic they came out with a dish of burnt veggies... apparently a speciality they offer? Wasn't really vibing burnt broccoli, haha. The service also seemed pretty inattentive and passive, only speeding up when we were finished eating and they were trying to clean the table up and send us the check. I understand that a lot of people like La Parma but for me there are better ways to spend my money then here. read more

I admittedly can't make a trip back to Long Island without a stop at La Parma. We typically go on Sundays as it's easier to get in faster than a Friday or Saturday. Immediately the hustle and bustle and amazing garlic filled aromas greet you at the door. My family had been coming here for years and gets the same thing every time: Chopped salad, with the most perfect vinaigrette dressing ever. Stuffed artichoke, doused with lemon, garlic and stuffing Baked clams that are always well seasoned And the main dish. Only way to describe this is as a behemoth. After much research, my fiance and I decided to host our engagement dinner at La Parma II and I can't say enough about how wonderful our experience was. First and foremost, the manager, Vincent, took such great care of us. From several phone conversations, to checking in on us throughout our dinner, he gave us five star service all the way. The staff was very friendly and the service itself was impeccable. They even turned down the air conditioning for us when my grumpy future father-in-law complained that it was blowing too strongly. MMMMM. This place is delicious! The mister and I went back home to surprise his parents for Valentine's Day weekend, so we made quite a few food stops. It was the coldest day in New York, and ever was, so we didn't really want to go out, but I'm happy we did. I really wanted spaghetti and the mister is always craving NY's Italian food, so his parents were able to get us reservations here on such short notice. I really liked it here because it's family style. All big dishes and everyone gets to try everything. What was really nice was when the waiter served us all our individual plates by putting a small serving of each dish. They took it to another level! We had ordered a salad, I can't remember the name, but it had mozzarella, red peppers, olives, croutons, and balsamic vinaigrette - super yummy. Since I wanted pasta, we got one with marinara and then we also got linguini with white calm sauce. Our last dish was shrimp in tomato sauce? I totally forgot the name but it had a zest to it, which made it really yummy. We also had a bottle of wine and last but not least, some dessert! All in all, an amazing Italian place on Long Island. To be honest, I'd give this 3.5 stars. We went to La Parma II for our anniversary recently. We got there around 6:30-7:00 on a Friday night, after my boyfriend had phoned the place and was told by a worker there that it would be a good time to come. He was right and we were seated right away. I am from Oceanside and remember going to their location there when I was little. I was aware of the family style aspect and the fact they had their menu on the wall. We started off with Stuffed Artichokes. Since the boyfriend's mom makes one of these for each person at almost every holiday meal, we ended up getting two orders of these, since it is one stuffed artichoke an order. When we first ordered them, there was a bit of a language barrier and the server only ordered one for us. We were a little ticked, but the waiter corrected it right away and brought us out another one. The bread stuffing was very tasty, the outside of the artichokes were a little burnt, but I'm sure they make a lot of these things at once and some of them are bound to get that way. Next we ordered Spaghetti with White Clam Sauce and Chicken Scarpariella with White Meat (boneless) with Sausage. This was probably the best clam sauce I'd ever had. It wasn't too overpowering with the clam and it was mighty delicious to dip with bread. The Chicken Scarpariella was very tasty too and the size of the pieces of chicken were amazing. We ordered a Canoli for dessert. It was a nice way to end our anniversary dinner. The cream was not too sweet and right on point. All in all for two Stuffed Artichokes, one dish of White Clam Sauce, one Chicken Scarpariella with Sausage, a Canoli, a glass of wine and a soda, it came to about $100-120. Overall, do I think this is the best Italian food I've had? No, but I would go back maybe for a special occasion or a big group. Not sure I would go back all the time. If you like a little bit of a different spin on Italian, I'd go to a place like Ciao Baby. If you want to have traditional, yet solid Italian style cuisine, La Parma is a good choice. read more

NYC friends demand a trip there whenever they visit me, many times ordering extra dishes to bring back, and eat for days! Everything on the menu is cooked to perfection. This is probably my favorite restaurant on Long Island. We have been coming here for at least 20 years. The great thing about La Parma is that you don't go to get your typical Italian fare. I love the shrimp La Parma, chicken oreganata, chicken scarpariello off the bone. On occasion we venture outside the norm, but my God, the food is outstanding. It's most certainly a special occasion type of restaurant. With family style portions, and prices that may make your eyes water, it's not going to be your $12.95 chicken parm kind of restaurant. I have never written a resturnt review before. My recent experience though was one I want to share. We were celebrting a birthday and ordered takeout from LaParma. The expereince was less than ideal.I drove 20 minutes to Huntington to pick the order up , no issue. Upon arriving at home we discovered portions that are not in synch with the "Family style" jargon and pricing the menu shows. Chicken LaParma was nothing more than two cultets. Two. That is not family style esp for $30. Second, we were shorted on the "Family style" baked clams where we should have received an order of 12. 12 is also not in my view "Family style" . We called the restaurnt back as we thought that we were provided the regular size and a mistake was made which I can live with. I was told by the "Manager" who seemed to be a well intended individual who was not empowered ,of our discovery only to be told that those were the proper portion sizes and we were charged accordingly. We tried to discuss this further but got pushback "that thats the way we have been doing it for 32 years" and "sorry you feel this way." Now, as a paying customer and being a business owner myself, I know how hard it is to get a customer and harder still to keep a customer. At no point were we offered anything as a good will gesture or a way to make up for this. I paid what I was asked without a fight and expected something more. Unfortunately, that ws not forthcoming. I live in Fort Salonga and I will tell you that Cirro's FOR EXAMPLE gives you more food for less along WITH SIDES !!!!! The line about 32 years indicates an unwillingness to change as there are a bevy of choices for anyone. Especially these days where restaurants are competing harder than ever to stay afloat. I travel all around the country up to 3 times per month for days at a time, and short trips too- just to meet a customer for lunch or dinner. Every where I go I compare my Italian food to this place, and sometimes other top champions like Parkside, Vincent's (undoubtedly), and an amazing place in Kansas City called Jasper's. There are others, but we would agree that each one of these places are beyond great meals. There is no question that LaParma is among them and can't go wrong ordering anything here. Family type restaurant because of the platter servings; huge to share with others but under my experience, no more than average small town pizzeria quality. Did I forgot to mention " pricey"??? for what the place offers. Depending on how you do a search on the GPS, it will send you a 3/4 of a mile away in between a car dealer. Last night my boyfriend & I went here for the first time as it was restaurant week. We were sat at a tight table right in a heavy traffic area, so my seat got kicked a lot. I had a reservation for 5:45 & we were there approximately 1 hour) our waiter, Chris took our order. He came with appetizers & I wasn't finished with my salad & I told him when he checked in, that I wanted to hang on to it so I could still work on it during our meal. He told me "well I already put your entree order in" & kind of made it seem like I needed to rush & get things moving. He brought our entrees out & the food was great, but he never checked in with us. Didn't ask how anything was or if we needed refills on drinks. He seemed to pay more attention to those who were ordering off the regular menu (which yes, means more $..but still. We're paying customers) The couple behind us were regulars & happened to have the same waiter & agreed at how rude he was. To top things off, it was time for dessert. I wanted to bring mine home & inform Chris prior, but he never checked in so I had to wait until he brought the plate with dessert out. When he put it in front of me I asked to take it home & he let out the biggest sigh, grabbed my utensils & stormed off. Had he stopped by AT LEAST ONCE to check in, I could have prepped him & not waste anyone's time decorating the plate nicely or wasting a plate when I didn't want to eat it then. He never thanked us, nothing. He made me feel like crap (sorry, language) but I will NEVER go back to this place ever again. Disgusting. He was clearly having a bad night & it showed.
