This was our 1st time here. I was driving by and thought let me try this place out my husband loves trying new places. I ordered the mushroom via. To my surprise he said he loved it and he is a very very picky person. He was surprised that it had mushroom sauce but liked it very much and thought it was exquisite. The pizza had a nice golden brown crust with good crunch but the dough was very soft and the tomato sauce seems homemade, very fresh. Lots of cheese and good amount of toppings. I'm always skeptical and disappointed when I see pizza joints tout their NY style pizza...but this place over delivered. The crust was spot on authentic NY, as was the pepperoni. I've not seen pepperoni that curls up around the edge since my hometown days. I thought it was an anomaly of the place we ate as kids. But now I know the truth - NY style pizza is alive and well and in Fox River Grove IL..perhaps the only place outside of NY state. One time that we ordered the pizzas were cold, but they were great about making it right and the next pizzas we got were piping hot. Ordered from here on two occasions, both times the orders were wrong but that happens. Here's the issue, everything here tastes good, aside from the pizza. The sandwiches and appetizers when we've received what we ordered were good, the pizza is glorified chain restaurant pizza. Won't be ordering again after the first two, it's a shame because the sandwiches are halfway decent, the pizza for the price is equivalent to Pizza Hut, too be fair we've only had their thin crust so maybe some of their other options are better. read more

I ordered from Yelp's Eat 24 for the first time and accidentally put in the wrong zip code. Wrong zip? No problem. The driver was super patient and drove the 7 miles to my house. The pizza was still hot!! Let's talk about the pizza... can I just say holy yum?! We ordered a large Sicilian pan pizza, half arugula, ricotta & prosciutto, the other half pepperoni. They are so precise that they called me to verify if I wanted the arugula & prosciutto pre or post oven. Now THAT is paying attention to the details. It was one of the best pizzas I have had since moving to IL, and could easily feed 4-6 people. Thrilled I found La Pizza Via when searching online for delivery pizza that was not only different but quality and flavors above all the other mehh places around Barrington. And then to have it just down the road--hit the jack pot with this one! Couldn't have been more thrilled with our order. I ordered a large thin crust pizza with pepperoni, sausage, garlic, and extra cheese, and an order of wings with garlic Parmesan sauce. Their online order process was super easy to use! Delivery came exactly when expected. The pizza sauce and toppings were excellent, but the crust was soggy and chewy. Not great. The wings tasted ok but there was barely any meat on them. I finally got to try the pizza here and it's unbelievable!!! I've had the New York style and the Detroit and both were absolutely delicious! I don't like lots of pizza sauce but I could literally eat this sauce like soup. After I was done eating my slice I was regretting I didn't get 2. Best pizza I've had in a long time, I live about a half hour away and would go out of my way any day for this pizza. Can't wait to try more. The only change I'd make is staying open till 10pm! Woohoo!! Boyfriend and I found our Specialty Pizza place go to nearby. Have had it twice and both times perfection. The first time I got their Gluten Free Crust & the Arugula Bianca Via and it was amazing and filling. Loved the Ricotta on it and I usually don't like crust but this one I love. It has a chewiness to it and its just tasty and like I said more filling. Then the second time I tried their White Clam Pizza with Gluten Free Crust and the toppings were such a great combination!!! I was nervous at first.. but the clam on it is chopped up good and with bacon its perfect. Boyfriend got their square Sicilian Margarita and loved it. Both Times got pizza delivered and it was quick. Kind of pricey but pizza in general seems more expensive when you add toppings and such. Highly recommend ! read more

Ordered thru Uber eats. Had the garlic knots with meatballs. That was fantastic. My wife had the grandma's pan pizza and she liked It. I tried it and it was pretty good. My issue was with the Chicago cracker crust pizza. In addition to what I ordered on my pizza for some bizarre reason they added jalapeños and sausage also. I can't figure out why and I don't hate those ingredients even though I didn't want them. The cracker crust was more like a soggy tasteless thin dough as opposed to a delicious crispy thin crust that was mentioned in the menu that I was hoping for. There was obviously no corn meal in the crust as their menu described. Maybe they just had an off night. read more

We have been getting pizza from La Pizza Via since they opened as they are the closest pizza place to our home, but it is worth more of a trip if you have one. We love all of their unique creations, especially the mushroom specialty and the one with prosciutto and arugula. As you can see, they have unusual ingredient choices, which we love. So far, I've tried the garlic knots, vodka via pizza and the buffalo chicken pizza and loved all three. The garlic knots are fluffy, buttery, salty goodness. I like that they're made with real garlic and not just a bunch of ground seasonings. They make them with cinnamon and sugar too, and I can't imagine how delish those probably are- they're on my list to try next! The vodka via is a very unique and delicious pizza. It's got a lot of different flavors going on, so much so that I don't miss the regular pizza sauce. The vodka sauce has great flavor, and the veggies on top only add more. Same thing with the buffalo pizza...so much flavor that you don't think twice about it not having regular sauce. The chicken on the buffalo pizza wasn't rubbery and fake like other places. I enjoy the fact that this place has the typical pepperoni or cheese pizzas, but you can also get something that you've probably never tried before- and it will be awesome! My husband and I can't get enough of this place and with many of the national pizza chains closing in Cary due to covid, we happily found this gem and this has been our new weekly place. They do Detroit style pizza exact... if not, better! Being a Detroit area native, it brings all the comforts from home with the caramelized and airy pockets of goodness in the crust. I was never a buddy's fan ( over hyped- their cheese and sauce ratio is not balanced in my opinion), but have had every Detroit style pizza in the land; this is spot on! The spicy meatball pizza is awesome, along with the bbq pizza, and all the dough options are superb. I love the NY style just as much as the Detroit style. La Pizza Via has been our go-to pizza place for a couple of years now and it just keeps getting better!! Tonight we went for something different (we usually get the Italian Pork on New York crust and it's outstanding) but tonight decided to try the Mushroom Via and added sausage. I cannot tell you how absolutely delicious this was!! The creamy mushroom sauce, fresh mushrooms on top and just enough cheese didn't even need the addition of sausage! If you love mushrooms like we do, you owe it to yourself to order this NOW. We were sorry we didn't get a large one. In addition to outstanding pizzas, La Pizza via also has amazing salads. We love the Caesar! The lettuce is always fresh and bright and the dressing is delicious. I love the rye croutons as well. The service is great (they are almost always faster than the estimated time) and friendly staff. I wish I had taken pictures but we were hungry and it was gone in a flash. Awesome stromboli!!! Tried it for the first time, after having some in Arizona that got our taste buds going. This one from LPV is the best we have had. Properly fatty meat, great ratio of crust to ingredients, and THICK set of interior meat and cheese. Comes with sauce (a little too sweet for us), but does not need it.
