The first time I visited La Popular we were less than pleased with the service. The bartender didn't acknowledge us and we were two of four at the bar-top. We finally were able to get our drinks but felt so unwelcome we went next door for dinner. The past two times we returned (so thankful we did!!) were nothing short of amazing. Great drinks, the salsa flight is TERRIFIC, and the service was amazing. The last visit David was behind the bar helping and super helpful with picking drinks. We attended their soft opening and were seated directly at a table for two ( note that you may need to make space on the smaller tables for all of the great food you are going to enjoy ) Jesus was our delightful waiter . He was communicative , polite and had a lot of great insights on the menu and offerings for their soft opening . We started with their salsa sampler and cheese dip. Great idea of serving different tortillas with the dip! I ordered the combo with two fish tacos and the suggested enchilada served with amazing beans and rice .My husband ordered the combo fajitas . Do not sleep on the steak fajitas . Cooked perfectly , served perfectly and you are pretty much able to cut it with just a fork it was so tender. Really excellent . We shared the churros for dessert and it was the perfect ending to a perfect meal. Came in for a quick bite and a nice craft cocktail and I came to the right place Selma was my server and she was amazing she let me know about the daily promotions in which everyday is the spot to be at I ordered the chicken tinga plate with the street corn as my side For my cocktail I got the el ranchero but made with gin and the bartenders Maria & Kimberly were kind of to fulfill my request. Walked in for happy hour. The signs outside had drink specials for $6. The drinks looked delicious so we walked in. The bartender was confused and said none of those drinks are $6. I called the manager and she said drink specials start at $6 but none of those drinks start are $6. If it said margarita flight then it would count. How deceptive is this sign?! We came here on our first date night after having our baby and it was so great! The hostess was very welcoming. The atmosphere was so awesome. It's great to see a place like this in the Redlands that I grew up in! There were some items that we looked at and referenced different reviews for them that we felt maybe the price point was not worth the serving portion, but that happens anywhere you go really. For a fun drink I got the Oaxaca jellyfish and it was very showy! It is definitely more of a drink that I would have as a standalone or with a dessert and not necessarily with my dinner, but I would get it again. Visited this new resturant for a last minute date night. Overall the location is easy to get too and elegant feel. Wait times were reasonable. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Food was delicious and recommended upgrading to the salsa flight if you like a variety of spicy salsa. They have tvs near the bar, perfect for watching games while enjoying a drink. read more

They offer aguas frescas in a more modern style, which was still enjoyable, and there is a nice variety of both non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks, along with regular soft drinks. Adding an alcoholic version of the aguas frescas could be a great option. That said, the food was disappointing. It was fairly bland and did not have the authentic Mexican flavor I was expecting, especially given the restaurant's emphasis on its Mexican roots. The biggest issue, however, was the timing: the food took a long time to arrive, and some items were served cold. My girlfriend and I went there without any reservations, and one waiter was excited to seat us, but the host said there wouldn't be any tables available for 45 minutes, but we could sit at the bar. Our bartender Cassie was super friendly and made recommendations throughout the menu-our personal favorite the salsa flight! Great recommendation and it comes with 4 generous size samples of salsa plus the heat level and description. Something fun to try on a date or just in general. We also had the fajitas (steak shrimp, carnitas taco, and ceviche. The ceviche was honestly amazing a lot of fish and not tomato, how I prefer it. The fajitas and tacos were good as well with the meat not being over done. It was just right. The drinks were delicious-margaritas that were clearly made with fresh ingredients. We asked Cassie about the tap because I've personally never seen a marg on tap. She happily explained how they make fresh batches of their top margaritas each day and how the system worked! I appreciated her knowing all the details about well everything we were curious about. The service was friendly, quick but not rushed and accommodating. I appriciate they use the handheld toast system to take orders and check you out. It was 4th of July and it seemed pretty busy but no wait for refills on waters or margaritas. I went with some friends last night. The food was great, server was scattered but sweet so we will give some grace. My only complaint is at 6:30 the music was so loud you could not hear the conversation across the table. It was like a night club, a little ridiculous. I hope they get some of these things ironed out. I will definitely go back and give it another try. When you're going out with friends to socialize being able to talk without screaming is important. So if this is the norm I won't be a regular. Ambiance is beautiful! Decor is on point, prices are on par for the area. Water glasses are stupid small, smaller than a rocks drink glass. Have you guys tried the new fancy Mexican restaurant called La Popular yet??? We went there last night and we thought it was great! The staff 10/10 the hostesses greeted us with smiles and were so nice (we noticed the noise level immediately and asked if we could sit out on the patio and the hostess immediately rerouted us outside!), the food 10/10 (they have my husband's favorite dish "mole")the ambience 10/10 its right next to the parking structure at The Look parking lot ( right behind the Redlands Public Market) next to railroad track. Last night the weather was amazing and we enjoy it so much. I also FINALLY got to see the Redlands Public Market for the first time! It was such a fun space! They even have a Speakeasy in the basement which was cute! We will definitely be returning to dine at La Popular again!! Also, the Eureka Burger is in its new location right next door to La Popular and it is so nice!!!! I believe it's the same owner as La Popular! read more

First time as Don Orange was closed til 5 PM, so we ventured out and found the this restaurant. There were four of us for lunch, we ordered 2 ice teas as it was a hot day. Tea had little ice I asked for sugar and that took awhile to get by that time no ice. But I can say the server brought me a new tea. 3 of us enjoyed our lunch but my son said the chicken in the mole was very dry. Why didn't you say something and he said it would take another 40 minutes to get a new order. The waiting is longer than most restaurants. My tacos were good except very little meat in the rib eye taco. My son and his wife ordered two margaritas no salt and they get the drinks loaded with salt on the side of the glass which can be messy. It was a yes and no on this restaurant. read more

He took the time to walk us through the menu, gave thoughtful recommendations for both the food and drinks, and every suggestion was spot on. What really stood out was how attentive he was. He consistently checked on our table to make sure we had everything we needed without ever making us feel rushed or interrupted. I never once had to ask for a refill because he always noticed when our water glasses were getting low and refilled them before we even realized it. He also cleared away empty plates and glasses as soon as we were finished, which kept our table clean and comfortable throughout the meal. You can tell Lauro genuinely cares about providing great service. His attention to detail, kindness, and professionalism made our dining experience even better.
