The chicken had a very very thick batter, which isn't normally my preference at all, but it was still good and definitely filling. One piece was almost the same size as the waffle! Of course, we had to indulge in the bottomless mimosas, and they did not disappoint!!! Great flavors, a generous amount of champagne, and they kept them coming. Definitely worth the money!!! My dish was a good size piece of double battered chicken breast served on top of a bed of garlic pasta and spinach, topped with marinara sauce and melted cheeses. What I liked the most was when you take away the sauce, cheeses, and breading, I could really taste the chicken. I tried a piece of the Pollo Provencal and it was excellent as well. Service we received was exceptional. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and attentive. Our server checked on us several times during the meal and she took care of our requests with great efficiency. Based on this experience, their high rating is well justified in my opinion. The food, service, and atmosphere are top-notch for a small neighborhood restaurant. I know Martinez is a bit far for some, but it's definitely worth a visit when and if you are in the area. 5 stars. They used to be the best in town... idk what happened. I have ordered from them numerous times and the last 5 or 6 have been consistently disappointing. I'm not much to complain but today was too much. I ordered the grilled shrimp salad. I requested extra shrimp avocado and Pico di Gallo. . What I got was a bunch of chopped up cold shrimp covered in grease. One or two slices of avocado no Pico di galo. And I giant chunk of beet? I have ordered this salad many times. It has never ever been like this. I can't even eat it and I was charged extra. I called the restaurant just to let them know I was disappointed and that the quality has really gone down. Whoever answered the phone said let me check your receipt and then put me on hold.. never to answer again. They lost a customer because of that. read more

This place is the truth! Amazing, authentic mexican food. Very clean restaurant, I like the new additions and the remodel. They have a counter or several booths for you to sit at and you can see the grill and all the food being prepared. They make their own tortillas from scratch and tortilla chips. The chips and salsa are just ridiculous and the fact that they have bomb ass horchata makes me very very happy. The menu is diverse in the fact that they offer several different dishes without being too complicated and confusing. The service is great and everyone is always friendly. They have a Taco Truck across from the refinery in Martinez, I know, I know Taco Truck. But... tacos are just $1.25! And out of this world! The Carne Asada is my favorite.
