Went for breakfast the food was OK. The refried brains were actually not bad and the handmade tortillas I got breakfast La Mexicana, and Horchata so I could've sworn on the menu. It said $11.95 and the lady wrote down on the check like 14 something and and the Horchata was five dollars so the bill with tax was over $20 for breakfastwith the price and everything. If you decide to patronize this establishment, ask the waitress what the prices are first. I understand is tough for small businesses. I'm not coming back to the small business.

Truly amazing Mexican food! Great menu, flavors and authentic vibe. The homemade tortillas were so good! Think and never cracked under the taco pressure! I loved the michelada beverage. I think the atmosphere could use a bit of help. For 1, there was no music. It was kind of awkward how quiet it was. It also seemed like the interior could use some fresh paint and decor.

I'm really grossed out! Unfortunately I didn't notice this until I got home and sat down to eat. There was this disgusting bug in my tortilla! This was separate from the rest of my meal but even that wasn't worth what I paid for it. This was the one *and only* time I'm coming here.

I was staying in the Mission on my last visit to SF and wanted to grab a quick bite before my flight. I craved a Mexican hot chocolate and some authentic Mex and La Quinta came up on my Yelp search! I ordered a veggie burrito to go so I could eat half on the plane and it was a really good snd not too heavy and messy like some burritos can get. The hot choc was nice, I would've preferred it a bit spicy though. My cousin ordered a breakfast plate and hot choc. It was a quiet morning and I noticed the lovely lady taking our order was stirring some house made sangria when we walked in which I would've tried had it been later in the afternoon! Great place for a quick bite and drink any time of the day.

First, you need to understand that Im on a mission to find really GREAT tacos dorados in San Francisco. This was my latest attempt... Went on a Sunday night about a half hour before close. Place is really cute, the employees were super friendly. I got....well you already know, and he got chile verde. Portions were huge, food came rapidly. Taste was okay, price was fine, but these were not the tacos dorados I'm searching for.....The shells seemed like they were fried crispy earlier in the day and the chicken was added after .....sort of a Taco Bell style taco dorado. I want the whole thing fried together right before I eat it. So could be this is the way you like it, but it's not what I'm looking for. And despite the claim that the tortillas are handmade, they were not. Coulda been a Sunday night thing, but I was sad. On the way out we passed a little girl eating mole something. It smelled incredible. Next time I'll try that.

I have been coming to La Quinta for just about the time Ive been working in the neighborhood. They recently change owners which in a way has improved business and friendliness. I am here from morning to have menudo to lunch time having a taco platter and everything in between. The staff is always great and inviting, they have an internet jukebox so you can download your jams while chopping on a carne asada burrito while sipping on a michealada.

YUM!!! My boyfriend and I decided this is going to be our regular Sunday brunch place. La Quinta has the best chilaquiles and all the portions are HUGE. The homemade tortillas are really good, it's always piping hot. My boyfriend got the pozole which is a popular dish with really tender goat meat. Their salsa is spicy and guaranteed a fire in your mouth. I like their rice and beans a lot too! Reasonable prices and super friendly service. We always enjoy our meal, take a to-go box home and go home really full! **credit card with minimum purchase**

Decent little mexican diner. They're open from 7am and serve breakfast every day; all breakfasts include your choice of huevos (rancheros, mexicanas, etc.), rice and beans, and homemade tortillas. I ordered the chilaquiles, which were enormous, but a little too soupy for my taste. The sauce was the kind I like -- a ranchero-style sauce with celery and green peppers -- but was a little undercooked and bland. Good rice and beans, large but flavorless tortillas; good salsa. Cameron had the birria, which he said was not as good as the version at Los Jarritos, although the meat was of higher quality. (I couldn't pin him down on whether that was a compliment or a criticism.) During the week, breakfasts go for $4.50 -- they're $6.50ish on the weekends -- and they have at least 2 soups every day. Weekdays it's caldo de res (beef) plus a daily special that could be pollo, ablondigas, or other favorites; weekends bring menudo, birria, and posole. At lunch they have the usual combination plates (tacos dorados, chiles rellenos, mini-burritos, etc.) plus typical mexican lunch specials that change daily -- oxtails and rice, that sort of thing.

For once in my life, I was forced to eat like a civilized man. On the outside, everything looked normal, but in the inside it was anything but normal: I had to open my third eye center so that I could ascend my primal instinct of going to town on this burrito. Equipped with a knife, I sawed thru that behemoth methodically - too fast and she would burst open, too slow & she would give me the cold side eye. I am the burrito slayer. Cash only, was very very well priced for the size (about $13. Receipt didn't make it out alive).

I have dined here many times in the past, and this is a cash-only restaurant. I ordered the Regular Burrito with Beef Steak ($10.25). The regular burrito comes with a flour tortilla, rice, beans, salsa, onions, and cilantro, plus your choice of meat or vegetarian. Meat choices listed on the menu: * Al Pastor - Marinated Pork * Carnitas - Deep Fried Pork * Chile Verde - Pork Green Sauce * Chorizo - Mexican Sausage * Carne Asada - Steak * Lengua - Beef Tongue * Pollo - Chicken * Cabeza - Beef Head * Tripas - Intestines I asked the cashier which meat was most popular, and he recommended the beef steak, which had a slight hint of spiciness. The burrito came with pinto beans and rice. I forgot to ask if I could substitute black beans. The burrito wasn't too salty, and the beef steak was just okay. I also think the $10.25 Carne Asada burrito is a good deal. At other taquerias, carne asada is often an additional charge or the burrito costs more when you choose steak. I usually ask for a receipt even when paying cash. When I checked my receipt, I noticed I was charged an additional $0.25 for "Bolsa To Go" (bag) even though I was dining in and didn't receive a to-go bag. It's not about the $0.25, but I think it's important for a business to have integrity and charge customers only for what they actually receive. I hope this isn't something being charged to other dine-in customers as well. Overall, I would come back to try a different meat, but next time I'll make sure to clearly say dine-in and check my receipt to make sure I wasn't charged for a to-go bag.

I got my food about 10 mins after ordering. I went with what was popular. The Dorada (toasted) super carne asada burrito was great, but I wish it was more toasty. It was softer than it looked and I assumed that was because they are frying it in lard ? But overall solid and great burrito. I thought the tacos are slept on here. Both asada and lengua tacos were incredible. Tortillas were really fresh and yummy, and they stuff it with a lot of meat (). We came here on a random Thursday at 3 pm and surprisingly, the line still almost reached the end of the block. Luckily, the line moves pretty quickly and the food is solid, but be prepared to wait for a bit. My favorite meats here are the cabeza and the lengua. The cabeza is super fatty and tender and has the amazing shreddy quality of a slow cooked meat. It had the soft melty texture of collagen and was super delicious. The lengua is also really good. It was super tender and soft and had the distinct taste of beef tongue but wasn't too overpowering. The carne asada and carnitas had a good flavor but were a little bit dry for me. I think they would be better in a super taco or burrito where you have the extra fat from the cheese and avocado. My only complaint about this place is the price. I realize that everything in SF is expensive, but over $5 for a single taco and almost $9 for a single super taco is pretty egregious. There's food trucks all over the Bay Area offering cheaper (and almost, if not, just as good) tacos in my opinion.
