Not only is the area so eclectic and enjoyable to just be present in, La Reunion provides a welcoming atmosphere that lets you be comfortable and relaxed. I typically do a black coffee when I'm there in the AM but switch to a spritz focused beverage after 3 or 4. The espresso martini, as well as most of their menu, is full of flavor, liquor, and made with care. The staff is one of the main reasons I continue returning- they have always been so kind and helpful no matter how much is on their plate. We went to this place for drinks and the Espresso Martini was DELICIOUS. On Friday and Saturday they have happy hour till 8pm which is perfect to get a drink and chill at this coffee shop/bar for a while and chat with friends. Over the weekend, we stopped by La Reunion to have our coffee passport stamped. This coffee shop is really charming, with plants hanging from the ceiling. When you arrive, you can choose to sit inside or outside; however, because of the heat, we chose to sit inside. I ordered the Kyoto Cold Brew with Rose Gold Sweet Cream, which can be added to any café beverage. I thought the cold brew did an excellent job of balancing this drink because the cream is on the sweeter side. Next time, I'll probably stop by La Reunion for a cocktail. read more

If you happen to be with someone who is vegan or vegetarian they can order from Tribal and bring the food over and enjoy the wide selection of wine, local beer, speciality coffee and food that La Reunion offers On my visit I was lucky enough to meet the owner who was able to answer all of my questions about the food and where it is sourced from for this French inspired local hot spot. If you follow me, you know I am big on local ingredients and food that doesn't only taste good but is good for you. I can say this place cares about the food and your health, which is a big plus for me. They also make everything in house. No frozen and heated up food here!!! If your like me and love beer. Please try one of the eight drafts that are all from local Texan breweries. If you like wine they didn't forget about you. They hand select their wines from a local wine store in Bishop Arts. (Love a place that supports local small businesses) For food I went with the Pressed Chicken Sandwich which came highly recommended by the owner. It is a roasted chicken thigh on a toasted ciabatta with greens and gruyere. The Ciabatta is made fresh daily and it really set this sandwich up to win an amazing award!! Personally I would have loved to add some sprouts to the sandwich to kick it to another level and add more nutrients but its perfect just the way it is. If you like fresh bread, chicken and gruyere, you will love this sandwich! I also ordered the Mussels. You could tell they were fresh and the Pernod cream sauce they came in tasted so good when you dipped the toasted bread in it. They have WiFi. If you want to stop by and study or work; this is a perfect place. They offer plugs at all the seats and the music is not played loud and is more like background music which allows you to concentrate on your studies or date should you bring one. Luckily it's never been busy when I've been here. I was here for brunch with some friends and took my baby and had plenty of space with the stroller. Food and drinks were fantastic! Their Chai latter is one of the best I've had. I was so hungry that I forgot to take picture, so next time :-). This is a great coffee shop to pop into if you're in the Bishop Arts District! After walking around the District for a while, a friend and I popped in here and loved the eclectic vibe it had. In addition, all three of their menus (bar, kitchen, and coffee) have a lot of options to choose from. Both of the drinks that we got were very tasty, so I'll definitely be coming here again the next time I'm in the area! So recently made a visit to Bishop Arts with a friend from out of state for the weekend (5/23/21) and waited to eat lunch at Bishop Arts. Well that was not wise, most spots had over an hour wait and it was going on 2:00. Found La Reunion and was able to grab a table that just emptied - no waiting. The service started slow but had a strong finish and was very friendly. The food was very good but was a bit small on portion size. I had breakfast tacos which were your standard. My wife had the Croque Madame (Benedicts) but only came with one egg for $13. She felt cheated - I mean how much is it for La Reunion to add another egg to this offering. Our friend had Breakfast Sandi and that was fine. If visiting this area, know that Bishop Arts is still locked down. I mean this is Texas and they still require masks, and other restrictions. Also some negative signs in the shops on the Texas Governor. We came to shop, not to hear your politics. WON'T BE BACK. Update: You'll see the owner's comment below to give you the attitude your dealing with in this neighborhood. Five stars for the breakfast sandwich. It is the absolute perfect sandwich - delicious bread - light, but crisp. Ripe avocado, melty cheese, perfectly crisp bacon and oozy egg. It's an amazing bite. Will come back again and again just for this sandwich alone. The iced lattes are pretty good too. Must get before 6p though because after 6, they only have cauliflower flatbreads, which may be good, but I just want some real bread. Also a small sidenote: I wish they would take off the picture with mussels off their lead photo though, because it's such a freakin' tease.
