One star for the food that was on the menu AND they actually had available. One star for being a hip place to be seen. The pizzas aren't available until after 5:00. That was a bummer. I had the onion soup, which if you have an insatiable passion for onions, you would like it. I did not. If you're hungry, I'd suggest going to a different restaurant. But if you crave a cocktail in a postable place, this would be great. read more

This is decent morning spot with serviceable space to conduct meetings while enjoying a coffee and bite to eat. The food was good but not great and I felt the same way about their coffee. Not a bad spot. It's an open bar, as in completely open to the outside. They had a couple of guys busking outside by the entrance. Not sure if this place hosts live music or they're just cool with "street performers" at their doorstep. I was told their cocktails come with a heavy pour. So if that's your thing, this is a spot for you. Also, don't forget to write your life's story in the journal that comes with the check. None of that "hi, bye, love this place" nonsense. read more

I'm never disappointed with my visits to La Reunion. Today I had a perfectly sweet oatmilk latte accompanied by warm interactions with the team and a playlist to swoon over. The music was just loud enough but not disruptive. I was grateful for a small table to myself since I know they stay busy - rightfully so. Thank you, La Reunion for the consistency. read more

I was eager to have brunch here on a Saturday morning, but the greeting I received was not welcoming. The two guys working seemed more concerned with their appearance than answering questions about the menu. We did not get welcomed and the one guy who came to the register seemed annoyed that I was asking questions. We sat down, and no one came in after us for al long time, but it took at least 10 minutes for them to make my coffee drink. We also ordered breakfast tacos, but the eggs were extremely runny like they put them in the taco before they were done. When we left, we walked past the two guys working and they did not say thank you for coming in. It just wasn't good experience. read more

Went with two other couples, total of 6 ppl on separate tabs. We sat at a table inside and waited for almost ten minutes, no one came to serve us. My husband went to the bar and ordered three drinks and they added 20% gratuity. Another member of our party went back to the bar shortly after and ordered four drinks and was not charged added gratuity. When someone finally came to our table they picked up trash and didn't respond when we attempted to order another drink. Third member of the party went back to the bar and ordered three drinks and also was not charged gratuity. It was not busy and we could see several bar tenders and staff members standing in the back and behind the bar. When we asked why one person was charged additional gratuity they stated that parties of 6 or more have 20% added, however there was no where this was stated on the menu or visible in the bar. When he attempted to understand why one person was charged gratuity for three drinks and the others were not, they could not explain and essentially brushed him off saying, "that is the policy." If that is indeed the policy, it should be made known before ordering and be enforced on all tabs in the party. Drinks were fine, however it is definitely overpriced. $120 for three singles of Woodford and the added gratuity was not worth it. read more

They added a 20% gratuity for just three pours of bourbon. We ordered directly at the bar--no food, no water, and no table service involved. I've never heard of a built-in gratuity for walk-up bar orders. It feels like a ripoff. read more

Good coffee, great vibes, such nice staff! I am visiting the Bishop arts district for the day while doing some of my remote work. The staff was incredibly kind and friendly, gave me lots of good recs for my food/activities in the area. Coffee is good and it insanely priced. I will note that the music is great, but a little loud if you have any virtual meetings. This place doubles as a bar so makes sense! read more

We got there late night and ordered the cauliflower veggie pizza and Brussels sprouts.the service is nice and friendly and move quick. Absolutely fantastic! From the espresso and food to the ambiance and service, everything was great. We would make the long drive again just to return to La Reunion! We had a cortado and a cappuccino along with the Croque Madam and a side dish that I can't remember the name of but it had duck in it. The duck dish was good but the Croque Madam was EPIC! The béchamel sauce used with this dish was one of the finest sauces I've ever tasted. I'll probably have dreams about it at some point. It's rare to find a place that can join properly prepared third-wave coffee with delicious food but La Reunion is just such a place! read more

And even gave us some more information about the coffee beans themself. They gave me a great recommendation: A latte with oatmeal milk and lavender syrup. Yes, lavender syrup. I enjoyed one of the best summer drinks I've ever tried from La Reunion's coffee bar a week ago! The barista, who was very sweet and creative, mixed me up a decaf americano that had lemonade, lavender syrup, and some carbonated water in it. It was tart with a sweet finish, and perfect for the warm afternoon. The atmosphere inside was laid back as it was late afternoon (I imagine it's probably busier in the evening), and the velvet seats sucked me in tempting me to stay longer than I intended to. I spent about an hour enjoying the classic old-school hip hop tunes while getting writing done and was, overall, so grateful that I got to have the mellow space at La Reunion to get work done. I can't wait to go back to check out their plant-peppered side patio and try another summer drink. read more

I came to this new cafe-bar to study with a friend and was not expecting the restaurant-level service that we received!! The decor is perfect for an intimate date or just grinding away on your laptop. There wasn't as much natural light as I'd like in a study spot, but I def want to return to just hang out with friends and try out the rest of their menu! I ordered a cappucino and a pain au chocolat (or at least I thought I did). The espresso was solid. The pain au chocolat was yummy, but was not the chocolate croissant that I expected. It looked more like a chocolate empanada and there was no puff pastry texture. It satisfied my sweet tooth for sure with the amount of warm chocolate filling so no complaints here! Just a heads up if you're expecting a croissant like I was! Bathroom was clean and lovely and parking was plenty with a private-ish lot in the back. read more

Recommendation: Go to the 7 eleven less than a mile south on Zang and leave this one for the bums.

The food is great, which is why they got two stars instead of one. The service is so unbelievably inconsistent and leans more towards terrible than great. Drinks take forever to make it to your table, servers are not happy to be here and it shows. There are flies everywhere and every time I come, I've just honestly accepted it at this point. I've messaged Oddfellows on their instagram to resolve these things and they were dismissive and did not give me any reassurance. They do not care about regulars, they just want to move people in and move people out. The outside area is nice, sometimes you're allowed to seat yourself and sometimes you're not. The waitress Karla seems to call all the shots and chooses who she provides service to. I'm just so disappointed in what this place has turned into. Oddfellows - do better!!!
