Went for the turkey tenders and ended up being served by the oh so great Clyde! This was an amazing experience! Not often does my video watching get me to an eatery which in turns lives up to the hype, but actually gets the following words out of my mouth. "The slice of burrata" was the "Best Pizza" I have ever eaten to date! It blew my actual mind! A beautiful slice of heaven! I had driven 38 mins to catch them before they closed and it was more than worth it. Clyde kicked us down a few slices to try since they were closing and it was truly a kindness I won't forget. It made my Sunday night and we will be back. Oh, Psst... turkey tenders were moist too. Almost forgot the reason I went in the first place. My sisters and I went to try a new nail shop yesterday that was near LaSorted Pizza. After we decided to give them a try and I'm happy we did! The guy working the front was super nice and patient with us as we decided what we wanted. We each got a slice, the pesto sandwich cut into thirds so we can can all try it, buffalo wings, and fries. Everything was great! The sandwich and the slice were the standouts to me. I got pepperoni, one of my sisters got the pesto and the other ordered pepperoni but got cheese. It was a happy accident though, cause she wanted cheese and thought they were sold out, so she wasn't tripping. I highly recommend this place, will def be going back! read more

I don't normally take the time (as I should) to review my favorite places. But wow, imagine my surprise going to La Sorted's yelp page and seeing 13 reviews and an avg rating of 3.5 stars, which is in no way reflective of the food or hospitality that they're serving up at La Sorted's, as a matter of fact, I find this to be quite the injustice so I'm going to do my part to hopefully help have some small impact in righting this wrong. Now, what to know about La Sorted's.. first of all, it's in a little strip mall setup next to Moon Juice, Pho Cafe (another 5 star spot), and Same Same Thai, which if you're familiar with the area at all, is not really a massive parking opportunity/sit down for dinner vibe, it's more of a park quick and grab your food, but get real, you're in Los Angeles, moreso, you're in a hipster mecca, so figure it out and don't penalize a small business for not being able to accommodate your frivolous parking and dining-out needs. It's pizza, it's a pick-up window, order it, take it home, be happy. Second, the shop is split operating as a bakery weekend mornings and pizza in the afternoons, it's a very cool mom and pop operation, and while I've not yet sampled the baked goods, they all look fabulous and I appreciate the husband/wife duo - makes it feel like family.. And in my experience, family is the vibe - and in this city that is so transactional, I deeply value the effort in hospitality that every single employee I've interacted with has extended, from excellent phone service, to friendly greetings in person. Now for the Pizza I'm gonna start by saying that as a whole, Angelenos don't know pizza, like even a little, and it's not our faults really, LA just doesn't really do pizza well, we got burgers down, hot chicken down, brunch down, BBQ is even making some inroads, but pizza, we are definitely not in the conversation, so I'm not really surprised by some of the reviews, you can tell based on people's gripes whether they know good pizza (/food in general) or not. Now, other than not having a hawaiian (which as an Italian, I am fully prepared to go to war with the no pineapple on pizza crowd - but I digress), other than not having pineapple and ham, La Sorted's is my go-to spot for pizza for the following reasons. 1. Crust - the crust is this amazing sourdough that is crispy, chewy, snappy, flavorful - it's just perfect, A1 crust, best I've encountered in the city 2. Ingredients - Once you realize the quality of the crust, it's apparent the level of care and quality selection that goes into their toppings, sauce, etc and instead of making another bullet point, I'm just gonna also say that their actual menu items/pizza combinations offer a very diverse selection, from a couple cheeze options, to your OG's like margh, pep, combo, to your pesto/kale/sausage, they really have one of those menus where you want to try everything but what you know is so good that you almost always have to order two, something old and something new. I haven't had the Sandwiches/heroes but omg, do they look amazing. 3. PRICE - should be number 1 with today's economy.. These are 20 dollar pizzas pretty much, like 24, a little north of 30 after TIP and tax. THIS is a DEEP VALUE. I mean it's pretty much ridiculous. I order from a place downtown that has good not great pizza but it's like $40 bucks per pie before tip and tax, god forbid you want to customize some toppings at $4/topping. So La Sorted coming in at 20 bucks with fresh quality ingredients is sooo stupid, like I hope they don't see this and raise prices, but for what you get, it is seriously way too cheap. 4. Zukes - They have the absolute BEST fried zucchini appetizer, they're just otherworldly, buy 2 5. Ranch - Tasty tasty ranch, like so good you'd think you were in the midwest, no fancy aioli's here folks, just good old buttermilk ranch Now have I had a bad experience at La Sorted's? Yes... well not really bad, but just subpar. But can you imagine what a headache hiring and training and trying to get a business to survive in these times while people are giving you one star reviews for parking and people are stealing your pizza-mobile from out front your shop.. I give them a big pass and I happily ate every piece of both my slightly overcooked/under-cheesed pizzas. Also, it was literally 1 time out of by now, I'm guessing high 20's, so if you happen to find yourself with a similar experience, I really recommend, for the 5 aforementioned points, that you try again - usually what I try to do if I have a bad experience anywhere is pin down if I'm ordering at a weird time, like is this the tuesday pm B-squad on right now, and then I just try to make sure my next visit is during a busier A-squad worthy time. And tbh, for a business to nail it every single time without fail, that just doesn't really exist, and unfortunately YELP has provided a platform that every naysayer with half-a-pallette can literally turn to to spew their ignorance read more
