I found this place by looking up Yelp for a good nail salon near my friends house. I called ahead, and set an appointment late on Sunday afternoon for 2 people, and both of us needed pedis and manis. We were there a bit early, and the owner sat us down and had us wait until someone was available, which was fine, seeing that we were early. There were only 3 technicians there, including the owner, and 4 customers in the shop. I had my friend go first, and one girl began to work on her about 20 minutes after our appointed time. I had asked while there if I could change my mani to a full set, and the owner said it was fine, but he was the only one who was there who could do it, and that I would need to wait after he was done with his client. I agreed, and waited another 30 minutes or so before someone was available to begin my pedi. So even after setting an appointment, it took someone 50 minutes to even begin to work on me.
By the time my friend's mani/pedi were done, and my pedi was nearly done, almost 2 hours had gone by. It was well into the evening, and the owner, who seemed to give great service and attention to his customer he was servicing, also took an excessive amount of time to do a manicure for her. They were deep in conversation, and I began to feel that he had forgot about me. I think that even though I had an appointment, and had decided to stay with just having a mani/pedi, I still wouldn't be out in good time, nor would I have even had my mani done.
My technician was honest and said that others before us had requested other services that they weren't originally appointed to do, and that they were behind because of it. I began to consider just going with the mani as planned, seeing that it was getting so late, and we had plans afterward. But he was so slow in getting to me, and after waiting 2 hours and only receiving a pedi, I was upset. Quite simply, he over committed himself, and by doing so, prevented me from getting my hands done. Setting an appointment was apparently futile, if there were no staff to keep up with the customers and their changes/requests. If he were better with time management, he would have a repeat customer. If he was honest and sincere about not being able to get to me, I may have found someone else to have done the work, then returned another time to see him. Instead, I was left frustrated by his insincere apology. No discounts were offered for my obvious frustration.
The chairs were comfortable, and it was great that everyone there spoke English fluently. The place was clean. The lady who gave me my pedi did a great job, and if I could give her a 5 star rating for her work, I would. My friend's experience was a good one, even though she waited about 20 minutes after her appointed time before they worked on her. I have a feeling the service, despite my experience, is normally very good. If you see them, and you are time-sensitive that day, be sure they are ready and committed to the time you set your appointment at. read more
