House Red Ale

Ladder 19 is a cool bar. It also has a food menu, but you will like the drinks better. The bar is a really cool concept. It's located in an old firehouse in the UC campus area. This place gets crazy in the school year. Probably the best thing about the place is the building. It's an old firehouse so that gives it a theme, and they really did a good job with the inside. The bar is split among several floors. It has a roomy bar area. The outside seating scares offers a good view of the neighborhood. It has food, but it's mostly fried bar stuff so you aren't missing much. The draft selection is the best thing. It features many local breweries. The obligatory ones like Rhinegheist. and a few other local favorites. I had the House Red Ale. This is about $5 a pint. It's creamy and smooth and no bitter aftertaste. They also make good cocktails. I would get another drink here. It's a fun campus atmosphere. The food is an afterthought, so just get something from the drink menus.

It's fine for the younger crowd. But if you're over 30 not so much. We went for brunch at 10 AM Saturday morning And they were about 100 college kids drinking and partying and the music was so loud we had a shot across the table. Drinks were good, food was not. Everything was very cheap though. And the waitress was fast and friendly.

Bring your own coffee! Personally, I don't trust their coffee machine or speed of service if you depend on coffee like I do

The food wasn't bad which is why it made it all the way up to a 2. As a firefighter i make it a habit to hit every old fire station turned into a restaurant that i can. I really like the old history and such. First the music selection wasn't what i was hoping for. I felt worse for the family with little kids having to listen to "She's a Crazy Bitch" and few other songs with choice language. I know this is right near a college so i guess i am just showing my age. The food took a long time to get there. I got up from my seat in the loft bunkhouse and i saw several of the staff drinking shots from plastic cups at the bar. Not sure if that was the cause of the delay but eventually the food did show up. The white chicken chili was pretty good but everything else was pretty ok. I highly doubt that i will return.

Stopped in to check the place out during Cincinnati's burger week 2019 . My favorite part of this place is that the place an entire plate of complementary pickles on your table before tour meal comes...you can't hate on that! All three of us got the ragin caggin burger- not the best burger I've ever had, but I would order it again. The boys loved it- so maybe just a matter of opinion. Two of us ordered the spicy garlic wings, which were some of the best I've had- so definitely try the wings!

Went to Ladder 19 on a random Monday evening around 6pm. The atmosphere was super chill; almost too chill. The bartenders/servers took multiple shots while working. This would be ok if it didn't seem like it was affecting their work but I think it was. At one point the employees turned the music up super loud and started rapping and dancing. If it were night time, it would have definitely been more welcome and appropriate.... or if I was still in college. I mean Ladder 19 is located close to Short Vine so I probably should have expected more of a college atmosphere. The food was okay but not the best. The menu is American bar food. I had Johnny's Crispy Chicken Sandwich. It was average, at best. They do have a pretty good breakfast special with unlimited mimosas that I'd like to try. Other than that, I can't see myself coming back unless I'm meeting friends. Also, be aware any sort of side with burgers are extra.

WOW! So first things first, I came to Ladder 19 for the first time this week to check it out for Burger Week. They had a good looking beer cheese burger for $5 on the menu and I was thinking YES PLZ. We came during the lunch rush around 12:30pm on a Tuesday and it was paaacked with people and a few large groups (btw its good for large groups). We took some seats at the bar (they serve the full menu there) and got our drink orders in. We came to learn a few minutes later our bartender/server was actually the owner, Lori. Lori from the start let us know in such a sincere and apologetic way that they were extremely busy and there may be a short wait on things which we totally understood given it was Burger Week and the middle of lunch service. Spoiler alert, no, we did not wait an absurd amount of time for anything the whole time we were there, it was totally great! Instead of suffering through slow service we were tended to by Lori and served a free appetizer of sweet n' hot pickles and had a delightful time drinking our beer waiting on our burgers. The $5 burger week burgers came and they were ridiculously good for the price. I won't go on and on about it since it was a special they were running but wow they obviously know how to make a good burger. I'm talking two patties and Saratoga chips good. We even got a coupon to use next time we visit and brownie bites for dessert free of charge because of the anticipated "long" wait time. Anywho. Really felt compelled to write this review because it shined through the entire visit that Lori the owner was proud of her establishment and rightly so. She provided excellent, honest, service and I can't wait to stop back in. It was a great place, great food, good value, awesome fun ambiance, and that cool locally owned vibe that Cincinnati has really been nailing lately. Kudos, Lori, keep it up!

Had a brunch switch up this morning as the crew decided to head up to Clifton. I've been to ladder 19 a few times before, but never for brunch. They have a great deal of $15 bottomless mimosas/bloodys for $15 or $19 for bottomless + breakfast item. I got the wake n bacon burger which was so good and hit the spot for my hangover. Burger with a hash brown, bacon, and runny egg. You must ask for a side of the sauce. It makes everything so much better. It was great not having to shout over the loudness of a usual brunch spot. The waiter was so nice and even let some of our group "split" one bottomless special. I always have a great time at ladder 19 weather it's for lunch or to pre game a football or basketball game.

I discovered Ladder 19 a few months ago and was very anxious to try their "bottomless" brunch. The package is you pay $19 per person for one brunch food item and bottomless mimosas and Bloody Mary's. I went on a cold but sunny Sunday with my parents and my cousin. We sat in the front room so we were able to enjoy the sunshine coming through the large garage doors. The decor tied in with the firehouse theme and had a lot of Dalmatians etc, without being overdone and tacky. I can't speak highly enough of how friendly all of the wait staff was. All 4 of us ordered the bottomless mimosas and our waiter was very attentive at making sure our pitcher was full. After we finished our food we enjoyed one more pitcher of mimosas and did not feel like we were rushed out of our table, despite the fact that it was getting busy. In addition to the pitchers of mimosas, Bloody Mary's are included as well. They do not make these by the pitcher, but you are welcome to as many glasses as you wish. The food was quite delicious as well. I ordered the avocado toast with bacon. The avocado was the perfect amount of ripeness, and the toast was spread with a generous amount of avocado. The bacon added a delicious contrast of flavors. I can't wait to return for another great brunch experience!

True Irish pub with all your Irish favorites on tap and you can rent out the upstairs space for events. The food is delicious and the service is always amazing and super kind people. Can't recommend Mollys enough if you are looking for a great place to hangout with friends and watch a game or two.

We got there at around 9:10 and were first offered a seat inside but it was so loud in there the hostess couldn't hear what we were saying and vice versa, so we got a spot on the patio. Our sever was very nice, but service was VERY slow for a Sunday night. She told us they were busy the night before because of a conference and they were still in town that day, so the bar inside was busy. After ordering our drinks it took about 15 minutes to get them, and she didn't even take our food order when she came back despite us being ready. We waited, no problem. We ordered a 'Spice Bag' and it was decent but took about 25 minutes to get to us despite being potatoes and onions in a bag. For 40 minutes we waited for our food and when it came out it was terrible. I ordered the Fish and Chips and Caesar Salad to share and both were mediocre at best and inedible at worst. If you come here: DO NOT GET THE FISH AND CHIPS. They were battered nicely, but aside from that the fish didn't feel fully cooked and tasted like nothing, with a hint of dirty water. The tartar sauce seemed homemade, but didn't have any flavour. The coleslaw was boring and watery, with no flavour. Our server never checked up on us during the meal, so I never got the chance to ask for something else, so I was just stuck with the fries it came with. I know what good fish and chips should taste like and it's not that. Others ordered the curry and the wings and seemed to enjoy it, which is nice. However, 30 minutes after placing our order we were told that the kitchen "ran out of rice" and they asked us what we would like to replace it. When the curry came out, it was missing the naan but again, server never came to check on us so we didn't notice until the end of our meal. Overall, it's a cute place that feels Irish, but service is slow and food is terrible. Our server was lovely and it wasn't her fault that she was busy with tables, but management should be doing more when they know there's a conference in town to set their servers up for success.

The food is outstanding across the board--from the steaks to the cheese sticks--but the real star is their bread pudding. It's absolutely worth the trip from anywhere in the tri-state area. Parking is also easy and convenient, with a garage right across the street, as well as their own lot and additional street parking. Both were friendly & acknowledged the birthday girl in our party. Atmosphere is great. You could comfortably walk in wearing jeans or come dressed up. Neither would be over or under dressed. The menu has juuuust the right amount of options, which is great! Heather was our waitress & while she was kind, her service skills were lacking. Granted we weren't at a Michelin Star Restaurant, but we also weren't at a dive bar. There was an endless amount of awkward reaching through, over & around when refilling drinks. There were a couple of instances where she actually touched our shoulders to nudge us to the side so she could reach through. Totally not okay during service at a restaurant nicer than a dive bar. We ordered the cheese sticks starter which were so yummy! Highly recommend! A couple of us ordered the Cesar side salad & were highly disappointed. The dressing tasted like it was mayonnaise heavy & then watered down by lettuce that wasn't dried after being rinsed. Even adding tons of extra pepper didn't help. The lettuce also tasted like it has been too wet for too long. The lobster mac was ordered in the group & it was tasty but soooo greasy. So, order with caution. We had the Black N Bleu salad in the group & that was good. The Atlantic Salmon was another dinner ordered & the crust seasoning was delicious! Sadly, the salmon was a bit overdone. It does come with a lobster cream sauce, which confused me. It was only so so & I definitely skipped it entirely. The steamed broccoli was done to perfection though. Not soggy & not too crunchy. We also had the 12oz ribeye & that was great! Flavorful, cooked perfectly! I will add though, that the steak knives need an upgrade. I really wanted to love this place, but we won't return on our next trip to Newport/Cincinnati.

After seeing my niece graduate from college, our entire family and guests, all eight of us,…read moredescended on Coppin's restaurant for brunch. Normally, I find hotel food is just okay and nothing special, but Coppin's was a pleasant surprise. We were greeted by a very friendly hostess, and our equally pleasant server quickly brought menus and asked what we would like to drink. When it was my turn, I happily ordered Coppin's Old Fashioned. I was the odd man out because everyone else ordered the Spring Manhattan. Judging by how quickly everyone's drinks disappeared, I'd say they were all very tasty. I was a little unsure about mine at first, so to make sure the quality and taste were consistent, I ordered a second, and it definitely was not a mistake. I ordered the B+G biscuits (which are made by hand according to server in the hotel) and gravy with an extra egg. Others at the table chose a variety of dishes, including the CVG, Cobb Salad, Bagel and Lox, and several other selections. Based on the clean plates all around the table, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. My wife ordered a sample of banana bread, and I was fortunate enough to snag a small bite, it was excellent. After we had all finished, everyone agreed that my niece had made an excellent choice for her graduation celebration brunch. As my wife and I made our way back to Louisville, we both commented that we would definitely return the next time we were in Covington.

Going back and forth on stars for this one. Me and around 30 of my coworkers came into town for a…read moretwo day workshop and they got us a room block at this hotel. I ended up being in the North Building and cracked up when I walked into my room and saw I was in one of the Lightwell Lofts (a few of us ended up in them by chance, guess they included them in our room block lol). While the room was super cool and beautiful, there was a lot to be desired. After taking a million photos of the gorgeous room, I quickly realized a major flaw - the bedroom is upstairs, the bathroom is downstairs, and the staircase between the two is a crazy narrow spiral staircase. As someone that gets up to pee in the middle of the night, having to traverse the spiral stairs was terrifying lol. One of my coworkers actually swapped with someone who had a "normal" room because he was worried about falling down the stairs. My downstairs tv wouldn't turn on. I fiddled with the remote a bit, tried rearranging the batteries, but couldn't turn it on. I used the ipad in the room to put in a maintenance request, but no one came. I figured I would just let the front desk know when I headed out to dinner that night. Hours later, the front desk calls me to see if anyone had come to fix the tv - they hadn't. The girl was very nice and apologetic, she said I sent the request in the middle of a shift change and someone had accidentally marked it as complete. So she said someone would be right up, and he did come up. Handed me a handwritten note and a $25 coupon for Coppin's which was totally unexpected and a very nice gesture. Turned out, he knew exactly what the problem was - he said the remote was broken and he was supposed to swap it out but forgot. Gave me a new remote and all was good. He also mentioned there is a second remote upstairs for that tv. After he left, I went to look for it - there was no second remote. We held our meetings in the Scheper Room, which was also beautiful. The room was absolutely freezing the first day and I'm someone that prefers it a touch colder and was uncomfortable. We had to get them to update the thermostat and then in the afternoon it was way too hot. We had food brought in from the hotel and it was all fine, nothing super memorable. There was soup at lunch but the sign didn't even say what it was - just "chef's choice." The Italian hoagies were way too big and needed to be cut in half, I couldn't even finish half of one. The salad with fruit/pecans/etc was my favorite though. They had the completely wrong password on the tables for the Wifi but thankfully we figured it out quickly that we just had to use the room password. The second day for breakfast, there was yogurt on the menu and even on the sign with all the food - but there was no yogurt. Some of my coworkers were specifically asking for yogurt so we had to request it directly because it was included and paid for. Box lunches to take to go on the second day which were fine, I had the chicken caesar salad wrap. Housekeeping didn't come to service my room until 5pm when I was in there getting ready for dinner, so I was not able to get the room serviced. Just asked them for some more coffee. My conditioner in the shower was empty but I didn't bother reporting it after the tv issue and I had my own conditioner with me, so used that. The lotion at the sink was so thick that I could not get it out of the bottle at all, I had to use q-tips to get it out (it was nice quality, just kinda useless if you can't get it out of the bottle lol). Great local offerings on the mini bar and in the fridge. My coworkers and I got a kick out of the "intimacy kits" because we were on a business trip haha. The Magic 8 ball was fun, I loved the conversation cards even though I just read a few of them to myself haha. Even with the bedroom upstairs, it was nice to have the big double closet in the bathroom hallway so I really was just in the loft to sleep and kept all my stuff downstairs. The location is great, lots of fun stuff right nearby. The courtyard is lovely. I would say this is a solid 3.5 stars but since we can't give half stars, I'll give it a 4 because the staff was overall very nice and quickly fixed any issues, just a little annoying that we had any issues at all.
