Set up an appoint easy enough, first time visit for my Klein Poodle, unable to use my regular groomer who is out for the covid-19. I wasn't expecting my usual type of service but just needed a bath and slight trim. I keep my poodles grooming more on the med long size vs a close trim for summer trim. I did not want the top Knot messed with except maybe some scissor trim to keep even. The lady working me listen to me, seemed to understand. I chose this place as it seems more "high end " and should be able to know how to cut a poodle. I opted for the luxury treatment to include everything for the best treatment. Called back in reasonable time to pick up and I paid, then they brought out my poodle....I was horrified, look like they took a single size clipper blade to her whole body including her top knot, She looked horrible, the feet pads had hair still sticking out, body cut was never trimmed after the clippers to finish her. I was so mad I had to leave. After all the damage had been done and they had my money. 4-18...Review updated, was contacted within hours of posting my review by the owner, wanting to know all specifics of what happened. I was able to explain in my greater detail. He was very professional and forthwith got back to me first thing this morning. Explain the issues and refunded partial payment of services, apologized. I will have to say, I am impressed at his level of customer service. Due to him making good on a bad situation, immediately- I will change my rating to 4 stars, even tho I am still not happy with cut I do appreciate his concern for my poodle and what had happened. I know he doesn't have complete control over all his groomers so that I can understand his hands are tied to a certain point. However he wasted no time getting down to bottom of it and making sure I was taken care of $ due to poor circumstances. read more

Pet owners beware. We dropped off our Yorkie for a teddy bear cut. My wife even showed them a photo online. When we picked up our dog she was shaved from the neck down. She looked like a rat! For $74.69! - they charged us for the "luxury package" even though we never asked for that and wouldn't budge. So now i have to work with the credit card company. As for the cut they told us it was because her fur was matted. It was not. It was only about an inch to begin with. Our dog was shivering and came home and hid either out of embarrassment or who knows. This place used to be great - we brought our Westie (who's in heaven now) here several years ago and the owner personally took such good care of our dog. At the end of the day I have pictures of my dog prior to going in, what I asked for, and now what my dog looks like and none of it is accurate to what you are saying. I literally have all the grooming tools and do brush my dog every day. None of his mats are or were ever close to his skin to warrant a 7 hour appointment. His nails weren't clipped which I paid for, and he was shaved. I am not here to bash a business but word of mouth is strong and truly hope people read reviews prior to scheduling. read more

I've been here 5 times. The first 2 were great. The third was bad by the same groomer. Then the 4th was a little better than the 3rd and today was the worst. Today I went and they said my doodle was matted in his legs and I said fine, Just cut it short to .5 inches they said ok. I just make sure the face is teddy bear. They said ok. No mats in his face. When I picked him up 6 hours later, he had a poodle face. They said that's the doodle face. I said no that's a poodle face. They said Corey (first girl didn't work there anymore) cut it and I said that's the worst doodle face I've ever seen. They don't like doodles or they don't know how to cut doodles so don't ever bring your doodle here. I think they've been told to say your doodle is matted and I made sure to come at 5.5 weeks grooming cause I didn't wanna hear that mess come out of their mouth again and of course they said it again. The front desk girl said I will make sure this won't happen again and I said nope! I will never be back. Plus they charged me $95! read more

I used this place several years ago, and the atmosphere was fun and energetic. My dogs always received excellent grooming, plus they had a wonderful time roaming with other dogs. I stopped taking them, because they were old and sick. Sadly, they are both gone, but I have 2 new, young dogs and decided to go back. This place went from hero to zero. I disliked them so much that I ultimately decided not to even let them groom my dogs that day. They insisted that my dogs were matted. Ha! Baloney. That is code for we are too lazy to brush them constantly while drying them. They told me to groom them myself then bring them back. I certainly did, but they won't be going back here! Cant recommend them highly enough. I brought my pup in today for her first ever haircut and Flower was very sweet and gentle, she made Stella comfortable with her immediately. My pup was abused before I rescued her 3 years ago so she doesn't always warm up to strangers quickly. When I came to pick her up she looked like she was having the time of her life playing with the other dogs. They even put on a purple bow tie on her which is precious. Worth every penny. Horrible!! If you have a maltese or long haired dog DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE! My maltese is 7 months old and had long fluffy hair. I took her to Lakeside for a "trim" and asked the groomer to leave her hair long and just trim the mustache and face and belly area. When I returned to pick up my baby girl, they had shaved her so close to her skin that you could see her skin! I wanted to cry. I asked to speak to the owner and she called me and I told her what happened. She gave me bullsh----t about my dog's hair could have been falling out, yea, right! I've been going here a long time and would normally rate 5 stars for my usual groomer, however I got booked with another groomer the last time (which they did not tell me at the time of booking). I thought they've checked my profile to know who my usual groomer is or at least tell me that my groomer is completely booked or ask who I wanted to book with. Long story short, when I came to pick up my pup, she explained to me that my pup's tear stains were scabs and she had to shave it. I was okay while she was explaining until I saw my pup oozing puss near the eyes. She suggested I take my pup to vet in case of an infection. I explained to her that I've been coming here for a long time and this has never happened before and I wished they would've called me first before shaving the scabs. I went to vet and it cost me over $200. I'm thankful that my pup is okay, however I won't be going back after this incident. I cleaned my pup's eyes well. After proper healing, I was able to soak my pup's tear stains and it came off easily. No scabs. I will miss my usual groomer and I know my pup will too. read more

The staff is really nice, but after picking up our puppy and going home, I noticed that she was cut uneven on her body and her hair wasn't blended in properly. You can see the lines from the clippers that they cut it with. They also really didn't listen to how I wanted her cut. I wanted her hair longer on the face but it was cut very short. For the last 5yrs I have been a loyal customer of Lakeside Pet Groomers and referred many people and pups! However this last week they shaved my doodle so short that his skin was red. Additionally they didn't even trim his ears and not sure they even brushed them. Their communication has become horrible on grooming and drop off/pick up. They have become more focused on getting as many dogs groomed as possible in a day so they make lots of money vs being a quality groomer who pays attention to the owners request and actually caring for the dog. After 5 years I am sad to look for a new groomer but after this terrible experience and my pup being shaved dangerously short we will not be returning. I've been using this place for the last 1.5 years and each time I've been charged a different price. Starting at $70.00 initially for a cut and groom and yesterday, was the last straw , as I was charged 87.00 plus tax and was forced to give a minimum of 15% gratuity, totaling $108.00!! The 15% gratuity was calculated on the total amount including the tax!!! Gratuity should be calculated on the amount EXCLUDING the tax!! This is RIDICULOUS as my dog is medium sized . You certainly won't be seeing me again , what a rip off!! I would like to add that I took Toffee for obedience training and the groomer there asked me who cut my dog so badly! Her cut was uneven, very bitty and the hair between her toes were not cut correctly. Her private parts were also not shaved enough. I was refunded 37.00 in total. New owners... great folks! Becky saw that my Pembroke Corgi had an awesome fun time in doggy day care today with some other fur babies. Becky is passionate about people and their pets... she demands the BEST from her staff and it was quite noticeable. She gave us a tour of the facility and the dog pens are immaculate... though no outside play area the inside was perfect on cold/hot/wet days for inside play. Our girl came home exhausted and happy...we will be be booking again soon. Highly recommend for all customers in Collin County to give this west Plano location a try. read more

Unsatisfied. My puppy looked horrible when I picked him up. I have a 8 month old Maltese who typically gets groomed at the local Pet smart. His face was so dirty, not from stains but from dirt. Also I was told that his staining area would be shave down, that wasn't done. The cut down his face/head area (which I said not to do) and also cut so close there is a patch where hair use to be. Catch my drift. I'm only going back because I paid for the luxury package. I'll go back to my regular good old petsmart for half the price and better service read more

Our regular groomer couldn't get us in and we needed Mocha to be pretty for our holiday photos so we tried Lakeside. They got us in the same day! The groomer, Deangelo came out to greet Mocha who was so nervous she hid behind me and had a small poo accident.. (ha).. But the staff was kind and professional. I was nervous, as I didn't know much about the company other than what I read online. Well, they were absolutely fantastic!!
