The views are picture perfect! The food always amazing. I have been here multiple times and it has always been perfect. This time the food came out in the wrong order and the reason given was that it was a computer issue. Our drinks were also not right several times. I will return, because I understand that mistakes happen. However when they do, an apology goes further than an excuse. UPDATE: I appreciate the apology that I have now gotten. I've been to Las Brisas about 5 times in my life. This visit will be my last. We let them know we were celebrating our wedding anniversary thinking it be an extra nice experience. We ordered guacamole with chips and were deeply disappointed that it was pre made. I couldn't believe it. We also shared the seafood coctel which was good, but not authentic in flavor. For $25 dollars we expected much better taste and freshness. It was made with pre-cooked flavorless shrimp. My husband ordered the roasted chicken with potatoes. He liked it but when I tasted it, again, not fresh and for $37 dollars. I decided on the steak and lobster enchiladas $38. Ok... if you can't get enchiladas right, don't say you're authentic Mexican. The tortillas were dipped in the sauce and not fried after so the tortillas were soggy. The flavor was NOTHING like Mexican food. The red sauce was colorful but did not have flavor. It was closer to Tex Mex but even that would've been better. Rice and beans were just okay. It was my husband's first time at Las Brisas. He did not comment at the time, but later said he would've preferred to go to a chain restaurant where we knew for sure food would be just ok and not so expensive. $125 + tip. First time here out of curiosity so i placed a reservation for the Sunday brunch. Impressions: -Place is awesome the scenic views of laguna beach really pops a lot in the restaurant - Restaurant is big it could seat a family of 8 in 1 table. -Crews and server in my experienced are very courteous and accommodating. FOOD i ordered a filet mignon that was included on the Sunday brunch. Looks burned a bit. Its not that bad but i didn't enjoy it. The other course included with that entree saved it a bit. Waiting time for food is a bit longer too. Price a bit high for brunch but for you pay for the place. Will i go back? Sure but not for brunch anymore. read more

Brought my wife and several of other family members with us for brunch the morning after our wedding. Great food full of flavor from the starters to the dessert. I enjoyed my salmon tostaditas and crab omelette, and the triple sorbet was a lot of fun. My aunt got the burger, and it was the envy of the table. Wonderful weekend brunch menu with good bloody Mary's. Can't beat the outdoor patio dining overlooking Laguna beach with that perfect SoCal spring weather, especially when the service provided is really top notch considerate. Today was my 5th time here with my boyfriend. I honestly and seriously have no idea what a lot of people are talking about in the reviews when they say they didn't have a great experience or the food wasn't as good. It's pricey here, and my boyfriend would never spend his hard earned money let alone spend it at a place we don't enjoy eating at. The service is amazing, I've forgotten who all of my servers have been in the past but they're all great. Mostly always happy and treat you like family. The restaurant itself is beautiful and so is the view. Their tomahawk steak is rated at a 10/10 from my boyfriend and I. The only thing I don't really care for is their lobster enchiladas. But other than that the food I've eaten especially the pozole verde and chilaquiles for me are a 9/10. I love the chicken mole enchiladas as well. My friends and I pick one place a month to go have a fun couples brunch on Sunday. I heard great things about Las Brisas so I made a reservation for 8 no problem. I had another couple that wanted to join us making the reservation 10. I had to call 3 different days to speak to the person in charge of handling this after leaving my information 3 different times. Going from 8 to 10 they now wanted a minimum deposit of 1000 dollars. That's ridiculous. Huge turnoff. Why couldn't the multiple people I spoke to just tell me that? I'm not putting down 1000 dollars for a relaxing brunch with my friends and I, that creates stress. I was impressed with how he was interested, concerned, and wanting us to return and give the restaurant another try. So, we did, and had a much better evening. What a fiasco this place is. I called to make a lunch reservation and was told no over the phone reservations are allowed, go to Open Table. Done and requested a table outside. Arrived for our reservation to be told no seating outside (however there was one table that appeared to be saved for one of their friends). As we were standing in the entry way wondering why we couldn't sit at the one available table, there very same person that told me to book my reservation online was taking telephone reservations. I recognized her voice. After about 10 minutes we asked about the one table outside and begrudgingly escorted out to the patio. Waited about 10 minutes for our drink and appetizer order to be taken. How is it possible for a known Mexican restaurant to ruin what should have been Guacamole? Lemon and salt with zero flavor, stale chips & yes the chips were old. Just awful. Thankfully we realized at that point to finish our drinks, leave the Guacamole and find another restaurant for lunch. South of Nicks happily accepted us for lunch and the food was excellent. Terrible food. We went for the weekend brunch and the food was disgusting. It's a four course meal. Starts with pastries that literally taste like they were microwaved, along with a tiny side of fruit. The 2nd course it's no joke 2 bites of food. And the entrees were worse then fast food breakfast. I could only handle 2 bites of my entree and passed on the dessert since everything was so bad. Btw they charge you $47 per person for food and extra for drinks (including coffee). No they dont have oat milk or almond milk for those of us that are lactose intolerant. Just basic half n half creamers as you can get at a gas station. This place is such a waste of money and more importantly not healthy for anyone to eat! Guests come to Las Brisas for a beautiful view of the ocean and tasty classy plates. We got neither! For context, my party was comprised of all people of color. I think you know where this is going... Even with a reservation with a request for an ocean front table, we were seated in the "rose garden", aka the parking lot. We saw two empty oceanfront tables in the row next to us, so we inquired if we could be seated there. Hostess said no, and said that a family had been waiting for 15 minutes for that table, and that the other table was reserved. Where was that family that had been waiting? Nowhere to be found. We continued to dine with a mediocre view clouded by several guests, chairs, and strollers. Instead of a view of the beautiful Pacific, we were given an unappetizing view of sunburned people with pit viper sunglasses. All the while the two oceanfront tables remained unoccupied. The waitstaff was kind, but charged us for something we didn't order. They did not notify us that the item was no longer available, and instead brought out a substitute not within our liking. This could've been avoided if they had taken the time to notify us the item was unavailable and asked us what we would like to order instead. We indicated we were celebrating a birthday on the reservation notes, which the staff ignored and did not acknowledge. Several L's on their behalf. Now to the food: incredibly overpriced and unseasoned. Skip the guacamole! It is literally just mashed avocado garnished with a dismal sprinkle of cotija cheese. No tomato, onion, cilantro, or Serrano in sight. Coctel was fine. Enchiladas and tamales were very barebones. The tamales did not sit well. Las Brisas is famous for their scenery, ambiance, and Mexican fare. But when you receive none of those things, the experience quickly becomes uncomfortable and unappetizing. Our party (all people of color) spent about $300 to be largely ignored and maybe even discriminated. About 30 minutes into our meal, a couple asked about the empty oceanfront table and they were quickly seated at the same table we had asked about earlier. Interesting! read more

Las Brisas is such a beautiful gem in the heart of Laguna Beach. Gorgeous view of the ocean from almost every seat, unless seated in back dining. My review is primarily focused on the service which is always impeccable. Everyone that works here is extremely pleasant and thoughtful. The servers and restaurant workers are always willing to go out of there way, and that really does make a difference! Moreover, I have ONLY been to Las Brisas for their breakfast buffet. After quite an absence I finally returned with my Dear Husband, and sweet angel baby. I was pleasantly surprised with the short rib, it was SO succulent and juicy and well seasoned! Even more so, they now serve oysters and shrimp which were not on the menu before. The fresh waffles and French toast were just perfect, and the added touch of multiple toppings really hit the spot! I was quite disappointed in the omelette section though, hence -1 star. They used to make perfect omelettes but today, I got more of a scrambled veggie mash... I was NOT impressed. Being the foodie that I am, I did peak around to see if it was just mine, and sure enough, it was not. Everyone had some mushy, scrambled eggs. Presentation was defining a let down. Most admirable was our server Ricardo, he even assisted with our baby, and that really meant a lot! The front desk staff gave my baby cookies and gave loads of attention, that's always a nice feeling. They have an amazing outdoor seating area, yet the food is overprices and bland. We ordered 2 fish tacos, sea bass ceviche, and fish and chips. The ceviche was average. The fish tacos- yuck. This is one of those places many will say you just MUST visit if you're visiting southern California, so of course by living here, you kind of want to go so you know what the "buzz" is all about even though you see and hear all the hype about it. Welp, I'm not going to dispute that hype, we thought the view and atmosphere was awesome. The only reason they lost a couple of stars was due to the hit and miss food items on their "Patio" menu. The wait staff for the most part seemed polite, although a strange patron showed up and greeted our waitress (stalker?) and she seemed to have a mini "melt-down" left, and we never saw her again. Luckily, we got a new waitress...weird. Outside seating: No reservation needed, just bypass the line and all the interior tables and find the table outside to your liking. Be warned; if you have a large party, good luck finding seating altogether. We saw several people playing musical chairs moving from table to table to settle in together. If it's very sunny, try to find a table with shade or you'll find yourself seeking refuge inside. Great views of the water and cliffs, Heisler Park and depending on where you sit, you can enjoy lizard sightings and hungry birds in the drought resistant garden. Inside seating: Wait/or reservations. Although we sat outside this trip, inside looked nice and tidy. You must wait for this seating. Food offerings were more vast, but the pricing was as well. Inside buffets started at about $40 per head while patio ran about $10- $15 per head. Outdoor menu: I got the chicken tostada salad which was pretty good, only complaint is it needed more seasoning, it was a little bland. Hubby got the street tacos, and he and I both agree, they were terrible. Meat inside of a corn tortilla is just plain boring. Kiddies got chicken tenders, which were "okay". Parking: Lot/valet for a fee (easiest) or find metered parking along the street (what we did). Typical beach city parking, so be patient. I would like to visit again and try the inside buffet to experience that hype. It has such a picturesque location that you almost waive the food quality due to the distractions. It is appropriate because of the beach location and proximity to the Wyland Galleries. Drinks and beers kind of pricey. Most beers $7.00 per bottle. Drinks all over $12.00. Food was absolutely great. It is mainly a seafood menu with a great variety. Everything was cooked perfectly. Frutas del mar - lobster, shrimp, scallops, fish topped with grilled asparagus over a bed if rice was awesome. Pasta del marisco was great, scallops, mussels, shrimp with a wonderful angel hair pasta. Sea bass tomatillo was also great. Roasted tomatillo sauce with a lightly charred sea bass over mash potatoes. Also came with cooked veggies that were perfect. Service was good as well. Definitely a winner. Unfortunately we did not even get the chance to enjoy your restaurant due to the horrible parking situation, hence the one star. We did not know it was the Sawdust festival and Pageant of the Masters. We could not find parking anywhere on the street and your valet parking lot was closed. We were extremely disappointed as we had made 6 pm reservations and ended up leaving and going to another restaurant for dinner. I was told when I made the reservation there was valet parking so I was not worried. Our trip down there was 47 miles one way! With gas being expensive as it is, we did not appreciate it! read more

Incredible views and that's the only best part of this place. Service was decent, food fell short. I had the shrimp and crab chili rellenos that tasted like they were reheated as I had bites that were cold then hot. Menu said rellenos came with black beans and rice, I thought it was a side. The rice was in the stuffing for rellenos and the black beans were a spoon sized garnish on plate. My husband had the mushroom tamales they were yummy, masa paper thin though and his plate was an appetizer size rather than a main dish. This place fell short of our expectations, left paying $80 for two plates and left still hungry!! I was beyond disappointed they didn't even offer complimentary chips and salsa as most Mexican restaurants do to fill us up!! Chips and salsa was an extra $16 on the menu.
