Haven't been here in over 10 years and it was just as good as I remember! It was not too busy for a Friday night, which was perfect for us. Our waiter was super friendly and attentive! The ambiance was very chill and enjoyable. The food from start to finish was fantastic! We ordered guacamole (not pictured) which was amazing since they make it per order. The chips and salsa were amazing as well! Shrimp- 9/10; 5 shrimp may not seem fulfilling but it definitely was and the flavor of the sauce was chefs kiss Steal- 8.7/10; flavor is different from your normal steak which made this unique. It was butterfly cut so it was cool just as ordered which was medium well. Enchiladas- 8.5/10; good amount of steak and lobster in each enchilas so definitely worth the price. Tres leches cake- 8.5/10; not overly sweet and it had coconut flakes which was different but still great Cheesecake- 9/10; definitely order if you like cheesecake! It is our first time to spend Christmas dinner at Las Brisas. We are so happy that we made the reservation just in the nick of time before they booked up . The sunset was gorgeous. We had a beautiful table. The surface was amazing. The food was credibly. Good night. Christmas time they offer a prefix this one was $130 a person for three courses . We enjoyed some of their signature cocktails, as well as Napa Valley wines . The location is amazing . They do offer street parking however they have valet parking for $10. Some of the worst service I've ever experienced... waited at least 45 minutes, appetizer never came out, steak was cold. The staff especially at the front had terrible attitude, completely unwelcoming and acted like we didn't exist. Will not come back. I was a little worried about the food and service reviews before coming here. But omg everything was excellent. Axel our server went out of his way to make me an iced latte for me since they only sell hot regular coffee. He was honest with me saying they didn't have all the syrups and different types of milk for iced lattes. He mentioned when he did the iced lattes for other customers they didn't finish their drink. When I tried it, it was actually really good! I am a coffee addict and super picky when it comes to lattes, but surprisingly it was good I actually ordered a second round. He put no sugar and I put 3 packs of the little sugar there. Perfect! The chilaquiles were so good too. Everyone was really attentive and nice. The ambiance/views were just amazing with the music playing in the background. It's a must visit if you're in Laguna Beach. Thank you Axel for going out of your way to make me my iced latte, I loved it. The coffee kept me going to walk more than 3 miles lol around Heisler Park. I had so much energy! Only reason this even gets a star is because our server Omar absolutely KILLED it. He was super friendly, making jokes, and just overall made the experience dining at this place at least bearable. That being said, took my family out for Mother's Day celebration (mind you, it was supposed to be a special one because it was my wife's very first Mother's Day celebration) w our 7mth old kiddo. Had a reservation at 5:30. Got there at 5:20 but didn't get seated until 6pm... the girl checking us in seemed blankly rude and when I asked how long I had to wait (which is kind of a ridiculous question in itself because we HAD A RESERVATION), this other girl was saying some spiel about how this restaurant is "like a Disneyland because people have to wait in line" and how "we usually have a 2 hr maximum but I guess people decided to stay longer than 2 hours today"... just admit yall overbooked and you guys can't accommodate. I think some of the reviews are true. It's a pretty poorly run restaurant and whoever the hiring manager is needs to step up their game. And then once we got seated, we ordered a drink which was severely water-downed and barely had any drink (which they charged $20 for. lol). We then ordered calamari as an appetizer and I swear it was premade and supposed to be served to someone else but got taken back and was just sitting at the counter because that thing was almost cold and hard to chew... that was about the only thing that came out relatively fast. Then the food we ordered came like 40 min later and was either super salty or super bland. I legit can't believe this restaurant is charging upscale restaurant prices for food that seemed to have been microwaved. In words of a friend of mine who described this place, "it's literally the biggest rip off I've ever seen" Maybe it was literally just because it was Mother's Day rush and it was just an overwhelming day for them. From the moment we sat down, he was incredibly friendly, professional, and attentive without ever being overbearing. The food itself was good, well prepared and flavorful. However, the portion sizes were noticeably small, including the desserts. Review for Las Brisas My partner and I went to Las Brisas for Valentine's Day expecting a special evening. Unfortunately, it turned into one of the worst dining experiences we've ever had. Our reservation was at 7:45 PM. Due to traffic, we arrived at 8:05 PM and were seated promptly, which we appreciated. However, everything went downhill after that. As a gay couple, I felt judged immediately by the first waiter who greeted us. After taking a look at us and briefly speaking to us, he disappeared and we were assigned a new server, Sean. Shortly after, I heard the original waiter cursing repeatedly in Spanish. I am fluent in Spanish, so I clearly understood what was being said. A word of advice: do not assume guests cannot understand the language you are speaking. Service and food timing were completely unacceptable. The prix fixe courses were supposed to be: * amuse bouche * appetizer * entrée * dessert Instead: * Our entrees arrived first and were cold. * The risotto was so poorly prepared that it completely ruined the dish for me. * Appetizers arrived about 10 minutes later. * We never received an amuse bouche. * We never received dessert. We repeatedly asked to speak with a manager. Sean never brought one out. Instead, he offered a "free bottle of champagne." We declined and continued asking for a manager so we could understand what went wrong. Sean later told us: "My manager said we'll reduce your bill from $250 to $200." That was not the point. We were not asking for a discount -- we were asking for accountability and communication. Sean told us at least seven times that dessert was coming (lava cake and crème brûlée, which I was really looking forward to). We were told it would be packed to-go. It never arrived. He never came back. Because valet was closing at 10 PM, we had no choice but to leave. We paid $215, left a $25 tip (total $240), and went home with a bottle of champagne we didn't ask for and didn't want. Later, my bank statement showed a charge of $250.50, which is more than what I signed for. That is unacceptable. The next day, I called and spoke with Aracely, the new general manager. She was kind and initially offered a $50 gift card. I declined and told her I would dispute the charge. She then promised a full refund and asked me not to contact my bank. Three days passed. No refund. No call. No follow-up. When I called again, I was told Aracely was "off for a few days." Another manager, James, was dismissive and hostile when my partner asked for a timeline or to speak with her directly. At that point, I disputed the charge with my bank and provided photos of the receipt. The refund was processed the very next day. To this day, we have received: * no call * no email * no apology I understand holidays are busy. I understand servers work hard. But what we experienced was: * lack of accountability * lack of respect * poor communication * judgment * and hostility I was once a server myself. When things went wrong, I took responsibility or brought a manager immediately. I did not blame "new management," and I did not avoid my tables. This restaurant failed us at every level: service, food, and professionalism. Tip to management: Do not assume your guests cannot understand you because you are speaking another language. We came for a romantic Valentine's dinner and left feeling disrespected and ignored. Silence after the fact only confirms how little this experience mattered to them. Parking at Las Brisas can be a bit tricky. They offer valet right at the door for $10, and there are a few metered spots along PCH. Since PCH is a fast-moving business highway, I would suggest parking in the restaurants parking lot, even if it costs a little more--it feels safer and less rushed. My boyfriend and I visited as walk-ins on a Sunday evening and were seated right away, which was great. We received waters and appetizers quickly, but after that, the service slowed down quite a bit. It seemed like they may have been understaffed because we noticed other tables that arrived after us were being served more readily. By the time our appetizers and drinks came, we were already ready to order entrées, but our server walked away before we had the chance. That was a bit disappointing. On the positive side, the drinks were excellent. I had the peach mojito, which had a sweet yet tangy flavor, garnished with blood orange and mint leaves. My boyfriend had the Emerald Bay cocktail, and both were very refreshing, though slightly pricey--but expected for the area. The food was the real highlight. We started off with their house made guacamole and chips made to our liking. The make it on a table next to or near our table and it was delicious. For the main course I ordered the lobster and beef enchiladas, and both were cooked tenderly and topped with green and red mole sauces. The red mole was especially flavorful with great seasoning. My boyfriend had the scallops with a side of asparagus. The scallops were juicy, buttery, and very filling--there were only four, but they were large and satisfying. The atmosphere was lively, maybe a little too much so. There was a wedding reception going on during our visit, so it could have just been the timing, but it made things loud with kids running around and music from people walking by on the cliff pathway. If you're looking for a quiet, romantic dinner, this might not be the spot. However, the view makes up for a lot--ocean breezes, sunset skies, and the sound of waves crashing below the cliff add something really special to the setting. Overall: Parking is limited, service could use improvement, but the food and drinks were delicious, and the ocean views are definitely worth experiencing. read more

I'm not one to write reviews, but I felt compelled to this time. It was me and my partner's first time visiting Las Brisas. We planned for brunch on Valentine's Day around 11am. We were sat in a booth in the corner of one of the dining rooms. I specially requested a window seat when I made my reservation. I decided to mention my request to one of the hostesses at the entrance. She replied with "Everyone has special requests and no changes can be made to seating." After being told that, I sat back down and watched multiple parties of 2 be sat at the many available window table while we were the only couple seated in the corner with no beach view. This was very disappointed as the beautiful view was one of the main attractions to come try Las Brisas. I thought the food was good, French toast was excellent. The chimichurri for the steak was delicious! Only complaint I have is the small portion sizes. For almost $80, I expected more than a few strips of steak and flavorless eggs. Our service was good. Terrible experience We went with our family today (check number 3070). They brought the food missing my daughter's meal and with the wrong arrangement for my son's food, which we accepted as is. It took a very long time to prepare my daughter's food, to the point that she decided not to eat anymore. Her drink was 90% ice and only 10% soda. We asked for it to be replaced, and after three requests it was finally replaced when we were already leaving and had paid the bill. At the end, the server called me while I was on my way out, claiming I hadn't paid the bill. Came here on a Saturday night. We had a reservation at 7pm but were not seated until 7:30. Seemed like 8-10 other parties had the 7pm spot also reserved. Pro tip, if you can make a reservation on off times like 5:30 or 8-8:30pm I would do that to avoid waiting. The table had a white table cloth that was stained which was unappealing. Our serve was great, full of energy and super informative. We were sat next to a large party with about 10-15 kids ranging from 9 months old to 12 years old. They were crazy and the adults were do drunk and engaged in conversation to control them. I think in the future a table this size should be sat outside where the noise does not echo and does not distract others on special occasions. Food was ok, had the steak and lobster enchiladas as well as the "table side guacamole" The menu says they make it for you next to your table, they don't. Food was ok and noise and chaos made a special night turn into a chaotic one. This is not the "fine dining and nice" laguna beach dinning experience we were told about. Still feeling the glow of a great night. We were celebrating our anniversary and requested a table where we may be able to see the sunset. They came through with a table that faced both the ocean, and the direction of the sunset, even though the sunset behind the mountains. You could still see the beautiful colors. The service was very good. It took a little while because our sweet server had many tables and it seemed as if they may have been shortstaffed, but her kindness and the fresh air and beautiful scenery had us overlook the weight. The food was good. Small portions for a big price, but you were paying for both the food and the ambience. They brought us the perfect size little dessert of Tre's leches as a celebratory gesture. I almost wanted to order more if I was not already full. The calamari was pretty good. The halibut was tender, and the filet was just right. You will have to order your sites separate, but some come with a set side. The halibut came on a bed of Spanish rice, which was not really a matching taste, but still we're both individually good. The mashed potatoes were spot on. Very buttery and creamy. And the asparagus was a generous shareable portion for 2. We highly recommend this place for a special occasion and romantic getaway. read more

Las Brisas located in the heart of Laguna Niguel with a breathtaking view of the Pacific Ocean might not have been a Mexican restaurant that I would have initially chosen to dine at. As their menu would be rated high-end quality entrees, I think it falls short of having authentic Mexican flavors. From all the entrees we ordered, I would have to say the lamb chops was outstanding. A very tender, well prepared chop's, it felt more of an entree I would get at a steak house and not a Mexican restaurant. The table side guacamole prepared by our server Tony who excellent in every way not only made our delicious guacamole, but he definitely made our entire experience the best we could have ever expected. If pricing is a consideration to the ratings of a restaurant, I have to rate Las Brisas a four star experience. I personally feel the pricing was not equivalent to what I was getting. If I rate Las Brisas solely on the beautiful view, the ambiance, the spectacular service, they would get five flying stars. We were very fortunate to have been gifted a few gift cards, but with our party of five, we still went over quite more than I expected or wanted to. Honestly, the view and the complimentary Mexican bread were the highlights. The rest of the experience was disappointing. The food itself was very underwhelming. My boyfriend ordered the chilaquiles, which tasted like chips in bland tomato sauce -- no depth, no spice, just flat. For a restaurant claiming to offer Mexican-inspired cuisine, the flavors were severely lacking. It seems to cater more to a touristy, non-local crowd than those actually looking for authentic or bold flavor. Cleanliness was also a concern. There was a small dead bug on our table (see photo), which was unsettling, and the bathrooms were out of soap twice out of the three times I went. It was never refilled, even after mentioning it -- and that's a basic hygiene issue in any restaurant, let alone one with these prices. Food portions were very little for the price and the waiter got our order wrong. We waited a very long time to get our food and with 2 kids that were really hungry we decided to let it go and just eat. The waiter kept asking if we were done with our food when we had half the food left on the plate. It felt like he wanted us to leave. When we got our bill, there was EVT charge of 20% and I assumed it was because it was party of 6 so maybe they put tip automatically on it. Asked the server what this charge was and all he said was it was tip. Then I asked, so then I dont need to tip anymore? He just said yeah sure whatever and left.
