Let me preface this with a note that I love this place. I've been getting the pork burrito for close to a decade now, and I have always been a passionate fan of Las--purchasing shirts, proudly displaying the bumper sticker, and insisting that I will name my first child 'Pork Burrito with Guac' since the first time I tried it. I'm so thrilled to see the franchise expand to Hampton and Wells, and I hope that them expand to Durham and Hampton Beach (maybe in a food truck??) as well. But it's hard to ignore the recent decline in quality--the cheese is no longer steamed into the tortilla, the portions of rice and beans have decreased ever-so slightly, and the vegetables taste less fresh. I've sometimes had to switch to a bowl, as it is noticeably more food for the same cost. The past few times I've been the burritos have been a bit leaky and sometimes poorly wrapped. All things considered, this is still the best burrito place on the seacoast, and possibly New Hampshire. They are entirely deserving of the annual awards they bring home, and the staff is never anything but amicable and smiling. If I'm getting Mexican food, there is simply no other choice. The Exeter location has a serious issue with service. The help has no sense of urgency and frequently more interested in the days gossip then expediting the customers orders. It must be a weak manager at this location because the Hampton location has much better service and food quality is better as well. read more

I love the food, the atmosphere is great and the people who work there are helpful. Las Olas is a great place to get a quick, filling meal for a family for under $30 without feeling like you are feeding your kids unhealthy crap. My sons are big fans of the chicken tacos. I like the steak burritos and have recently discovered the rice bowls which are also very good. Basically they are a burritto without the tortilla in a bowl on a bed of rice. read more

Just went with my wife to get a meal. There were no adults working there. Five young girls were behind the counter. No courtesy, literally throwing the food around, mixed up the orders, just trying to push people through callously as fast as they could. Told this to the young girl at the register, she said she was sorry I felt that way and they are doing the best they could. She did not care and the visit was awful. So great! We stopped here on a recommendation from a local friend, and it did not disappoint. The vegetarian option (sweet potatoes) was particularly delicious. All the sauce options looked amazing... it was hard to pick one! When we came in, the restaurant was packed with a long line, but the staff moved people through quickly and efficiently. OK - there is no good Mexican food in New Hammy. But there are better places than this. First off, Mexican food is supposed to be flavorful and spicy. Las Olas is neither, unless you like only salt as a seasoning. You might've noticed someone said they call a cut in half burrito a taco (FLOUR tortilla). That should be enough to stop you right there. In this price range Dos Amigos and Loco Cocos are both better choices. Even Margaritas is better. Chipotle is better and more authentic. I used to love this place, but I don't even remember how the food tastes anymore because the wait times are so long I just end up leaving before I can order. Be prepared to spend 20 minutes or longer in line no mater what time you arrive. Also as soon as it's finally your turn to order, they say "we'll be right with you" and start making orders from the tickets that came in either via the phone or online ordering. In light of this, I did try the online ordering system. They said my food would be ready in an hour. I show up and they seemed to have no idea my order existed even though they had already charged my credit card. Took an additional half hour for them to get the food to me once I arrived. Was the food worth the hour and a half wait? Nope. There's a chipotle right up the road. Is the food as good? Probably not, but I don't end up waiting for my entire lunch break only to leave empty handed. read more

This place is mediocre compared to all the others. There burritos were ordered were a mess due to the employee wrapping them looking like she had no idea how. We were asked what we want in the burritos and they didn't put what we asked for in the burrito and it's right in front of them! Half the burrito was warm and the other half ice cold due to the very low temp of the guacamole, which they forgot to put on one burrito but did not forget to charge us for it! I've only tried the burritos. They're delicious! I do believe the food is great all around given that they're always so busy. Literally every time I come here there's almost a line out the door. I'm a fan of spice, and whatever their really hot- hot sauce is, is perfection. My only thing is, I wish the ordering experience was a little different, but it's really not that big of a deal. It is an okay place. I love their colorful, earthy aesthetic, and it is a common hangout for other teens in my area. Good food as well, and it isn't too expensive. I heard of this place from a friend. Taking their advice I went in with my wife one sunny summer afternoon. Long lines usually mean a long wait but that wasn't the case at all. The steak burrito I had was phenomenal probably one of the best I've ever eaten. The staff are cordial and friendly and don't hurry you along like a chipotle or subway might on busy days. I've been back time and time again and it just keeps getting better, as a matter of fact whenever my wife and I are in Epping this is where we go to eat. This is specifically related to the burrito platter as part of their catering experience. I'm a frequent diner, been going since they opened, and would recommend their food any day. It's very good - especially if you can get there on a seafood day. Love to make a surf & turf burrito. Be forewarned though, that the burritos on the platter are not the same size that you would get if you walked through the restaurant and ordered. Although they do notify you that they will cut it them in half, the diameter of these burritos are also thinner than you would normally get with individual burritos. Basically the size is more like a soft taco cut in half, rather than a burrito cut in half. However, the unit price is the same as their standard burrito. Although they were very tasty, I felt overcharged. I called to see if maybe this was a one-time thing, and I just got unlucky. But the person that took the order confirmed that the size is intentionally different. I suggested they should tell people that at the time of ordering. If you are interested in catering, I would recommend just ordering burritos individually instead of the burrito platter. ***Follow-up: A manager followed up by phone, which I really appreciate. He confirmed the sizes are different, and usually lower priced than standard burritos. However, because we customized the platter - specifying the meat/no meat, there was an up-charge. This was not explained at time of purchase. We were notified of an up-charge for the extra sauces we ordered though. However, we needed to have vegetarian options for some people in the office - and no one wanted sausage. They did offer a gift card which again I appreciate. So I should qualify the recommendation above as it still seems better to order individually, but perhaps only if you deviate from the standard platter. read more

Las Olas was my go-to "Mexican" joint in Exeter when I was a student at Phillips Exeter Academy. (It was between here or Margarita's down the street.) I liked the place. I like burritoes and this place was just a short walk from campus. It's fast (I mean, it's basically a Chipotle, you stand in line, you say what you want, they do a scoop plop and fold, you pay, you eat). I thought it tasted good. One thing I did notice is the people scooping, plopping and folding seem to change fairly often. I graduated in 2011, and I've been back three times since then, and the people there are always different! There's this one petite lady with short, dark hair (I think she might be the owner). She's been there for quite some time, and she's real nice. I'd recommend this place over Margarita's. read more

Las Olas Exeter is a great spot for lunch or dinner when you don't feel like cooking. My favorites are the nachos and burrito bowls which you can customize with your choice of meats and/or beans along with their fun and delicious salsas. My favorites are the verde (medium heat green salsa) and the spicy aioli. Worth mentioning is their carrot habanero salsa and guacamole which comes without extra charge with the nachos. Yum! I will admit we're big Chipoltes fans, but having said that, many reviewers say if your a Chipoltes person then you'll like it here, wrong. This is a long overdue review. I have continued to eat here over the years and like a fine wine, with time the place has aged well! I'm good for a carnitas salad once a week. The portions are great and well worth the $9 for a salad. Service has been very friendly. Any kinks I saw in the last seem to have been resolved. The pork is locally sourced from my favorite farm. As other reviewers noted, the portions have gotten smaller. I'm not complaining because it means that I feel less guilty about indulging once in a while. The chips have also tended to be kind of stale and/or overcooked. I like their pico, but for $3, I can get better chips and pico in larger quantities. Warning: Their hot sauce appears to have gotten hotter - as in burn-the-hair-off-your-balls hot. I liked it, but my face was still ruddy the next morning. If you don't like very hot, beware. read more
