We ordered food for pickup. The spicy pad thai was, indeed, very spicy! Flavor was good, but we added some additional lime juice we had at home. Husband really enjoys spicy food, but he was glad we didn't try the Thai spicy. Portion size was reasonable. We also got avocado fresh rolls, which were phenomenal. Staff was great - we arrived way earlier than the estimate provided by DoorDash and they bumped us up in line. Prices seemed a little high, not sure if using the DoorDash app for pickup may have contributed to that since we have never done that before.
STK Ninja fam! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Quiet. Just what a ninja needs to work. Although we were accompanied by great music. Sounds like traditional Thai mingled with steel guitars, lofi, psychedelic turntables and holy melodies of a distant and beautiful land.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was blurry eyed from the night's prior mission, and oblivious to all but the good smells escaping a slightly cracked door opening to La's Thai Cuisine. I had room to lay down my sword in this boat sized palace! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I felt at ease, blending in with the usual crowd, which was lessened, post holiday observance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But the service was attentive, pleasant and what was sorely needed after a hard job well done. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The feel and sight of the wood was akin to sitting upon the last higakikaisen boat to Osaka, sans smell of the ocean waters and the sight of the sea tortoise traveling, observable thanks to the bright gold sun and icy clear waters. A warming and beautiful presence, to accompany the smells and the smiles.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I needed a Thai classic to start, a Singha to fully take in the dining room prior to ordering and enjoying bangohan, Japanese for dinner service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Decor looked familiar, some art pieces collected from this corner and that corner of Thailand.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The tall server, Brendan, sent me over to pick a seat, and my kunoichi bodyguard sat in the best vantage point to counter any surprise attack. Lisa, also serving, was busy but acutely aware of the two ninja in the corner. Lisa and Brendan took great care of us, as well as the numerous guests and lovers of the Thai cuisine. We carefully laid ankle snares when our two servers weren't looking, which was near impossible, we were almost caught! The floors were clear of debris, which made it very difficult to lay our wire rope traps and caltrops, ninja life is never going to be easy. However, service never faltered, with the two capable servers floating and coasting, we were never without cool water, questions answered or guidance on what was good. My kunoichi doesn't eat lemon, so they gladly provided a different water for her to imbibe at a moments notice. Very kindly! Our meal was timely, very aesthetically pleasing and extended our culinary appreciation of Thai cuisine. We see why so many artisans, samurai, merchants, farmers and nobility enjoy this style of food. A ninja star for great service! Here was the order: We took in the Coconut Soup first, and its most efficient heating vessel was familiar and welcome. TOM KHA KAI, my guy! Starting a mission on an empty stomach will get you killed. So this soup is the opposite. It gives LIFE. The sour was so enjoyable, perfect texture on the moist chicken toriniku, wonderful marriage of flavor at the perfect temperature. Galangal and lemongrass, well seasoned and halfway through our enjoyment we were quickly surprised and attacked by... LISA! She nearly slayed me with her wonderful smile and I found her hands not bearing the dreaded dagger nor reaching sword, but instead a steaming dish of PANANG CURRY and in the opposite hand, an order of some robust Pork SPICY BASIL!! SPICY BASIL sauce could be jarred. And sold at their leisure. Peppery and assertive but light upon the tongue, sweet and bold, the fruits and vegetables hungrily drinking up said flavors for out reciprocal hunger. So good, although we sadly enjoyed this dish and its artistry after opening with PANANG... PANANG curry won over my kunoichi bodyguard, it was her first visit to the flavors of its namesake's region. The peanut gracefully crunched with the tender beef, and folded in hot rice made all ninja nod their heads silently in appreciation. A ninja star for PANANG, which is my Thai favorite, a star for this cherished curry! Another ninja star for each dish. STICKY RICE WITH MANGO was next. This purple rice was sweet, sticky and just a perfect note to conclude the night. Mingling flavors, freshness of the fruit, playful texture of the well crafted rices all was under the plentiful coconut cream sauce, the eastern cousin to the anglaise. Knife work was tight and conveniently made the fruit ergonomic. Ninja Star for Culinary Ninjutsu Glad to be reunited with Thai flavors once again, it was an honor to enjoy the spice of this family. May they live forever. If you would like to execute your hunger, you had better contact the lords and ladies of LA'S THAI CUISINE. Real, authentic and made with a ninja love that spans generations.
The staff and service here could not be better. But unfortunately the food falls a little short (at least what I tried). We ventured from our favorite Thai place nearby to try something different. Let me start by saying my husband ordered pad Thai and liked it (I thought it was a bit sweet). I also enjoyed the Thai Coffee. As far my order, I'm a huge fan of larb but their larb was not good. The chicken was not finely chopped to distribute the tangy and spicy flavors as it should be. There were large, dry chicken chunks. Instead of having the larb on shredded cabbage to add texture, they used American mixed greens (not crunchy) and tomatoes (weird). I tried chopping the salad a bit myself but I couldn't finish eating it because it lacked flavor and was so dry. I then ordered the fresh rolls to have something else to eat. They were standard but the peanut sauce was light in color, not great, and was SUPER sweet and not that much peanut flavor. Perhaps the other dishes are amazing but, since larb is my favorite, I will not be back. Again kudos to the staff for being so super nice and helpful. I wish I could give a better review.

She had no interest in discussing with me the ingredients. She told me to Google the recipe. On the Internet, the sauce includes peanut butter, so if that's true, some people have allergies. In addition, another customer came in before closing and he had to say that he would be quick. In summary, I wish servers at restaurants would be more friendly. I can cook for myself at home. Closed 2:30 PM to 4 PM.
Great service--attentive, accommodating, and genuinely welcoming. The fresh roll was delicious, with a wonderful, light peanut sauce that complemented it perfectly. The wonton soup was refreshing, and while the broth could have had a bit more depth, the wontons themselves were absolutely delicious. Personally, I could have done without the water chestnuts, but that's just a preference. To top it off, I ordered a side of noodles and beef, which was the perfect way to end the meal--flavorful, satisfying, and with plenty left over for later. Definitely worth stopping in if you're in the neighborhood!
I love supporting small businesses, especially if the establishment is a woman-owned small business. I found La Thai's cuisine on a Yelp search and headed that way from my hotel in the Biltmore district. The drive was definitely a stretch, but it was worth it. When I arrived, a nice lady greeted me from the front reception desk and quickly sat me down. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is beautifully decorated and during the early dinner service, they were only using one portion of the restaurant[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The other side was sectioned off and I imagine it's a preferred side once it's get busy for dinner as it has a romantic design to it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the following as described on their menu: 1) Thai BBQ -- grilled meat marinated with Thai herbs and spices. Served with sauteed vegetables and cilantro-jalepeno sauce. Choose Chicken or Pork. ($15) 2) Papaya Salad -- fresh green papaya tossed with grilled shrimp (2), tomato, and carrots in lime dressing ($14) 3) Pineapple Curry -- pineapple red curry paste, coconut milk, pineapple, carrots, bell peppers, tomatoes, snow peas, and kaffir lime leaves ($15) The pineapple curry was the highlight for me. I enjoyed the creaminess of the curry with the kitchen's own take on traditional herbs and spices. The papaya salad wasn't what I expected -- they're not able to modify it like most Thai or Lao restaurants so it's dressed in just a lime based dressing (missing the fermented fish, fish sauce, etc. for me). The service was excellent and the servers did a great job managing the floor -- attentive but not overbearing. Would return to try other items on the menu.

The green curry still had some heat to it, everything was cooked perfectly and the green curry sauce was delicious. It's been about 10 years since I have had green curry this good!
Decent food, good service in an unassuming location and pricing that did not break the bank. The ambiance is lacking a bit of warmth as the ceilings are very high and it is not full of tables so it feels a tad strange. We ordered crab rangoon and pork crispy egg rolls. Both were very good. Large wontons with plenty of real crab and a decent dipping sauce. The pork egg rolls were the bomb. Very crispy with a good amount of flavor in the filling. We had Ginger Delight, Orange Beef, Spicy Eggplant Chicken and Kung Pao Chicken. All tasted good however one should not order Kung Pao at a Thai restaurant. They just don't make it as flavorful as the Chinese do! It was much more on the light side if one can imagine that. The ginger delight was very fresh and flavorful. The orange beef was also solid. The best dish however was the spicy eggplant with chicken. Great flavors and if you like hot order it a 5. They only offer 4 levels of heat and it is not spicy enough for spice lovers. Service was very, very friendly and efficient. We will be back.
I didn't get the girls name at the front but she was young. Really friendly. Came here on a Saturday evening. They were really busy and I had to wait a little longer but the food was worth it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The location is really nice and has plenty of seating as you wait.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered fried rice, chicken pad Thai, orange chicken, and vegetable egg roll. Everything was so fresh and hot when I got home. I ordered takeout. Definitely recommend

Love that there apps come in different portion sizes. The pad see ew could have had more flavor but overall was pretty good.
First time at this north Scottsdale location. We went to the one in south Scottsdale before. There are not many people on the weekend so parking is easy. The food is good but the desserts is so good. Fried banana with coconut ice cream is tasty. Pandan custard with warm bread (I think this is a special item) is so delicious.

Met up with my boba sistah for an early lunch here. We were the first customers so we chose a booth in the back. Our server was friendly and welcoming. We decided to order four (4) vegetable spring rolls as an appetizer. The presentation was nice as they came in a steel cup with the typical sweet and sour sauce. They tasted good as well. For our entrees, we got the pad see ew with tofu, spice level 3/4 and the pra ram with tofu, spice level 2/4. Our food came out quickly and both dishes looked great. I liked the spiciness of the noodles and the flavor of the pad see ew. The pra ram was delicious with a strong peanut sauce and lots of vegetables, plus jasmine rice. We split the dishes and it was a good variety. Prices are on the higher side for lunch specials but that's to be expected these days. I'm glad I finally tried this place and I would definitely come back and try more dishes! read more

The food here was really good. We were seated right away and both workers were friendly. We ordered: One won ton soup - Clear broth, scallions, cabbage, water chestnut, wontons (chicken, pork & shrimp mix) One hot and sour soup - Gluten-free. Coconut milk simmered with chicken, galangal, lemongrass, lime leaves, mushrooms, cabbage, scallions and roasted chili One shrimp spring rolls One chicken fried rice One sweet and sour chicken - Thai-style sweet and sour sauce, cucumbers, tomatoes, pineapple, yellow onion, bell pepper One Pad See Ew - vegetable-soy sauce, wide rice noodles, broccoli, cabbage, egg One Thai tea Everything we ordered was flavorful and freshly made. The portions were enough to share and we even had left overs. Will be back again when in the area! read more
Looking for a hidden gem that offers friendly service, stellar authentic Thai food, reasonable prices and no bells and whistles? Look no further than La's! I was a La's customer at a previous South Scottsdale location so when I saw this one recently when visiting a nearby business, I had to pop in and order some fresh rolls and edamame. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself is quiet (or it was when I was there on a weekday evening), but felt comfortable for me to dine solo.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I think they do a big take-out business and I would absolutely return for both dine-in or take-out. Best pad see ew I've ever had! My fiance enjoyed his orange chicken as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Quiet atmosphere watching the dust storm and rain out a large window.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Alex our server was very friendly and helpful! read more

I was craving for southeast Asian style eggrolls and found this place near my workplace. I arrived shortly after 11:15 AM, there were a handful of customers who appears to have stopped by for lunch during work as well. I was told to go ahead and pick a seat and that the waitress would be over shortly. Which she was and took my order promptly. I ordered 2 pork eggrolls to start because that was what I was craving. Then I also ordered the Lao Style Papaya Salad (spice level 3), Grilled Beef Salad (spice level 3) and a serving of sticky rice. Wow, the spice level here is no joke, if you say spicy, you will get spicy and this is coming from a person who loves and can handle spicy Thai Chilies! The egg rolls in my opinion were small but the filling was meaty and they were good. The papaya salad was good, I would have preferred it be just a tiny bit more sweet but I can't complain. The beef salad was very good, good amount of meat, spring mix, sliced tomatoes and fresh cucumbers to cool the heat. The sticky rice was a little hard, it seemed as though it may have been pre-cooked then microwaved right before serving. Overall, I was very impressed. Great Thai Food! read more

BEST Thai in north Scottsdale! Yep.... I said it. I've tried them all and La's wins hands down. Everything we order is delicious and the staff is so friendly and accommodating! If you dine in, it's shockingly clean and neatly decorated (unlike most good Asian restaurants, which are notoriously tacky and questionably clean). If take out is your jam (as it is mine) your order will be well packaged and steaming hot! Probably my favorite thing about this restaurant is that they don't skimp on vegetables in any of their dishes. Excellent service in this lovely Thai Restaurant Located in heart of Scottsdale. Our waitress was pretty and very personable. I had Green Curry with Tofu . Flavor of veggies and green sauce. We went here for my aunt's birthday, and had a nice time overall. Everyone agreed their seafood was delicious, and my aunt liked that they de-tailed the shrimp and took the mussels out of the shells. I thought the tofu was too mushy (I asked for it fried crispy,) and the curry wasn't spicy enough (I asked for it thai hot, and it came out mild.) The flavor itself was good, though, and prices were reasonable. Service was very very slow, and we found ourselves looking around for her frequently. She was quite nice, at least. The interior was nice, but a little basic. I would say it's a basic, slightly above average thai restaurant, but nothing I'd go out of my way to have again. read more

If you like consistently well-prepared Thai dishes in an inviting dining room, served by helpful and smiling servers, well... don't miss La's Thai! Sound like an ad? Yeah, I know, but it's hard to tell the truth about this gem without sounding like a commercial. It is so good, and we always get good service as well. Went for lunch today and ordered the crispy-fried pork rolls, which were hot and delicious, and we combined them as an appetizer with the chicken satay. Their satay is extremely well seasoned and grilled perfectly, and along with that comes the absolute best peanut dipping sauce I've ever had, hands down. I cook, and I love to prepare Asian food of all types, and the peanut sauce here beats *anything* I've ever come up with, plus anything I've ever had at a good Thai restaurant. No kidding, friend. It's that good. Red Curry with Chicken was steaming hot, both the temperature and the spiciness of the dish. Loaded with perfectly cooked sliced chicken and bamboo shoots, carrots, green beans, and red bell pepper, the bowl was generously filled to the brim. The coconut milk was subtle, and the red curry spice was not overpowering, but definitely at an appropriate level... just delicious! The chef really understands how things work in a complex dish, and how to nuance the flavors properly. Bravo! You can request the spice level at "1-2-3-Thai Hot", and I usually order either "2" or "3". At level "2" you will definitely notice the heat, and at "3" you are basically going to deal with it. I have never ordered "Thai Hot", because I just know I couldn't handle it. I ordered my Red Curry Chicken at "3" and it was perfectly done to my liking. (I eat jalapenos out of hand with most of my Mexican food, if that helps.) The Spicy Basil stir-fry is even better. This kitchen is ridiculously consistent with spice blending and the composition of this dish, and I consider it a "regulation Thai offering" by which to rate the rest of the menu. It's one of those "standards" where if they get this consistently right, you can trust the rest of the menu as well. It is a very satisfying dish, and my lovely wife orders hers at a "2" for spiciness. We shared plates, and this dish was EXCELLENT. Savory, not too sweet (UGH. I hate the trend in Asian/American cooking where it tastes like pancake syrup was added to the dish. YUCK!), and it had the background flavors spot-on. Warm, fresh basil is added for flavor balance and contrast, and another good experience is had. We were too full for dessert, and the bill came to just over $40. We will continue to eat here, and I hope you give La's Thai a try. I'm sure you won't be disappointed! read more

This was a random stop by after a long day and boy am I glad I found it. This was delicious Thai food. I eat a lot of Thai cuisine all over the country and this was my first in Phoenix. I was impressed by the atmosphere, friendly service and most importantly the food! We ordered the Drunken Noodles and the Chow Mien. Both were unique and delicious. I would err on the side of caution for spice. Spicy means truly spicy! I also got the Thai Iced Tea, again perfection, as well as the Sake. The bar menu is limited but they have a few good options. The waitress was really kind and even fixed my meal when it was too spicy for me. I will be back here again and again. It was a quick meal and we did not have to wait neither for the table nor the food. read more

Such an amazing experience. Really fresh tasting food. The server Lisa was really nice, and recommended a lot of delicious food. We ended up ordering the Fresh Rolls, Cream Cheese Wontons, Potstickers, Chicken Thai Barbecue, Chicken Pad Thai, Beef Bad See Ew, and Shrimp Panang Curry. All the food was very delicious, and full of flavor. The drinks were also tasty! We go the Thai tea, and the Thai Coffee. I can't wait to go again! This is my new favorite Thai restaurant. You don't know Thai food until you try La's Thai Cuisine! read more
