I'm short I love this place !!!! In long, I been coming here for a few years. I work down the street and occasionally get their chicken with white beans and rice. It's moist, soft and delicious. Today I tried their turkey sandwich and it was the best turkey sandwich I ever had. Their turkey was moist like it just came out of the oven. They don't use that commercial deli turkey! This is the real stuff. Food is always fresh, the service as good, and the prices are reasonable. They get packed during lunch so I suggest coming at the beginning or the very end of the lunch rush. Although I haven't tried but I heard they have great breakfast. Very much looking forward to trying it in the near future. Latin Bohemia and I go back 3 years. It is my go to spot for breakfast and lunch since it is so close to my place of employment. I come here at least once a week. You can't beat their breakfast special eggs, bacon and potatoes for under $5 bucks. So let's just say I come here for the food. Service is decent but not great. Only a handful of the staff speaks English, which doesn't bother me at all. I will keep going there as long as they keep making great tasting breakfast and lunch! read more

I have only had take-out from here so I can't attest to dining in, but the few times I have tried it the food has been very good, and as others have said it is very reasonably priced. Excellent pork chunks, delicious roast pork (lechon), rice, empanadas, delicious plantains. The only thing I have noticed is that they are skimpy on the the plantains, as my two side orders I requested rice and plantains and I got a lot of rice but only a few pieces of the plantain. Also, I asked the lady if she had included cuban bread with my order and she said that they only offer the bread for people dining in and denied my request, I think they could spare some and include a small piece for to go orders, not a huge deal but Las Vegas always does and I never have to ask. This is my go-to Cuban restaurant in Fort Lauderdale. Great value, especially when ordering off the daily lunch specials and good hefty portions. The lunch specials change every day so my preferred day to go is usually on Wednesdays when they have the baby churassco steak, the lamb shank in wine sauce, and a chicken medallion wrapped in bacon with a creamy sauce. I usually order all 3 with my coworkers and share the entrees to ensure the most fulfilling lunch. They all come with 2 sides as well. Another favorite of mine is the oxtail stew but I can never remember what day that's on the special. One slight pet peeve is that they sometimes take forever to serve the bread appetizers but it's understandable given how busy they get during lunch. I also noticed some Yelpers complaining about the service; there is 1 waitress that is usually very rude and curt while the others are very friendly and helpful. We solved that by simply avoiding her section (they seem to work off rows). So my suggestion would be, since you're able to seat yourself when you arrive, just look for a row with a smiling waitress and problem solved! read more

I've been craving cuban food all week long and my favorite cuban restaurant las vegas is too far away. What is a gal to do??? Why use yelp of course to find a suitable replacement that's closer by!!! The requirements of the restaurant were that they had to serve chicken chunks, mariquitas and toastones. This is always what I order from las vegas. I found latin bohemia grill in pompano beach and took a drive down there tonight. When I pulled up the shopping center looks kind of sketchy. The restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside. When I walked in there was a sign that said seat yourself. There wasn't many people in the restaurant so finding a seat was easy. The menus were already on the tables under the glass. A minute later the waitress comes over and brings a glass of water and takes my order. I order the plaintain chips or mariquitas with extra sauce, chicken chunks with rice, beans & toastones. Another minute later the waitress brings out my coke with some free cuban bread. The bread was standard. Then she brings out the plantain chips in this huge bowl. Wow, I thought!!!! I'm going to inhlale these cause it's been years since I had these. They did not disappoint. A moment later she brings out the toastones. They are huge!!! The portions of food here are big. So I'm munching on my plantain chips and toastones then my chicken chunks are brought out. I was hoping she would have waited a bit longer to bring these out but oh well. So I had all this food on the table at one time I was on overload, lol. Next came the taste test of the chicken chunks. How will they fare against las vegas??? Well turns out las vegas is better but these will satisfy me enough until I make it out to las vegas cuban restaurant next weekend. They just werent as flavorful. The rice, beans and toastones were all on point. Overall I had a good experience here. I definitely will be back. The service was good, the portions were huge and the prices were inexpensive. This is mine and my husbands favorite lunch spot. Being that we grew up in miami and there is a lot of lack in Cuban food (besides Little Havana restaurant) this little restaurant always hits the spot when we want some Hispanic food. Their sandwiches, vaca frita and café con leche are my favorite. Their waitress are always very nice and we always seem to get the same one where he remembers our order. Very pleased with lunch today. Got there right at 11 before the lunch crowd and enjoyed a nice affordable lunch. It's a pretty big restaurant with lots of TV's. The waitresses were all friendly and very attentive. The food was good, nothing spectacular, but I would definitely return. I had some fish fingers and she had the oxtail, both dishes accompanied by two sides. I tried the Tostones since I noticed they really serve them flat and crunchy, just how I like them. I love the old school diner feel, and since it was mid afternoon the place was quite empty and we got some good service. Now this is a wide based review because I would say it was more ok for me than the best cuban food ever. Though I'll admit I haven't eaten much cuban food. But I'd describe this place like a home cook diner kind of food. So nothing fancy just decent food at reasonable prices. The good: portions are good especially if you get chicken. My sister loves it here and their favourites are the oxtail stew (which I had) and it is good. She also loves the skirt steak. The sides are good portions, we tried the yellow rice, kidney beans & rice, yellow plaintain and green plaintain, vegetables of the day, salad. Only the plaintain are smaller portions compared to the rice. Vegetables were usually broccoli and cauliflower. The kidney beans and rice was the winner out of the 2 rice sides we tried. The specials are the best deals since some of the items are on the menu and $1 less. The passionfruit juice is good. The not so good: if you get the chicken breast, it can be dry. The flavours are not fancy or sophisticated..just homey kind of cooking. I tried the tres leches cake too. I found it sweet but I think it is supposed to be. But I wondered, doesn't the sponge cake supposed to absorb all the milks? it was a bit runny on the bottom. overall a good place to fill your belly and not break your wallet. other dishes we had were the fish special. I had the carrot and orange juice, fresh squeezed. Delicious, although a bit on the small size for the price (about eight oz plus ice, $3.50). I also had the ropa vieja, with black beans and tostones. The black beans were so creamy and flavorful. The two tostones were fairly large, and came with a garlic-lime sauce. So when I was looking around for a good bite to eat I sometimes explore around and very self only go by word of mouth. But when my friend said "man this place has the best empenadas!" I B-lined straight over and I was floored by how good they were (especially the ham and cheese) this is definitely a fantastic diamond in the rough that I was surprised to have missed. Came here on a company lunch outing. The staff is very nice and will answer any questions you have. I ordered a lomo saltado with a side of black beans. We got an order of the tostones as an appetizer. The food came out quickly. My beef was cooked nicely, not over done at all. Mixed with the onions and peppers, it was delicious. The sauce was very tasty. I love black beans on rice so that was a plus for me.The plantains were caramelized perfectly. It was my first time having tostones but it was not too food for me. It was a bit dry and cold. After pouring the garlic sauce on it, it turned out better. It was my birthday that week so at the end, the staff came to sing and brought out a tres leches for me. The desert was very good but very sweet. It was definitely a gluttonous treat. I only got to finish half of it before the sweetness became a bit overbearing but I think it's something good to share with a group of people. Price was reasonable and staff was friendly, but the waiter did not call out the specials and I missed out on lamb with wine sauce because I had already ordered the roasted pork, which was solid, but not quite lamb. Don't get me wrong, I love this place. The food is excellent, just don't expect any kind of service. In my opinion that just makes it authentic. If you're here on a Tuesday get the shredded chicken special, it's fantastic. Sit at the counter and hope you get Diana. If so - ask her about the 5 milks. It's worth it. We were in Florida on vacation and asked the front desk where they liked to go eat, this was among some of their favorites. If you don't know this, take note; when traveling always ask the hotel staff where they go. It'll be somewhere hidden, mom & pop type, fresh food. Being from Texas, I'm used to Mexican food, I used to think Cuban food was similar, but it has such a different flavor. I was amazed at how delicious it is how diverse, even the dishes that seem familiar are so unique. I was with a group and we decided to share some appetizers: croquetas de jamón, a chicken tamal, chicharrón de pollo, and tostones. (there is a combo platter that's not on the online menu I found). I also had a lettuce & tomato salad to start, I was expecting a small one but it's actually big enough to share between 2 people, 4 if you have small portions. They had several dressings, I personally like lime, salt & pepper. A nice start for a heavy meal. I ordered the Ropa Vieja, classical Cuban. If you've never had it, it would resemble Fajita a la Mexicana. Skirt steak with peppers, onions, olives, capers, pimentos, in a wine sauce. Very flavorful and salty. (I like to add some lime juice to balance it out). It was an excellent meal, we all ate plenty and took some home. We were able to make a whole other meal out fo the take out. The place was busy when we got there, we saw some police officers, and they always know the good stops. Some older folks, and they are loyal to good food. I would go back there... This place is great. My favorite place to go when in Pompano Beach. The staff is great, the food is Latin. Besides Latino fare you can get a real breakfast for about $5 and that includes a real tasty Cafe con Leche. The lunch specials can pass $10, ex lamb shanks in wine, but its worth it. Other dishes I've enjoyed include Ropa Vieja, Lechon, Bistec Empanizado. The portions are plentiful. Ample parking, and inside it is very clean. Also has a outside walk up counter to order a quick Cuban coffee, empanada or croquette. Staff speaks English and Spanish. Even my Latino friends like it. read more

We pull up and there are 4 Broward County Sheriff patrol cars parked outside. Either this is another infamous South FL drug bust or I've just discovered the best value restaurant in the area. Fortunately it was the latter. This is not a fancy place but the food and service were excellent. Ox tail stew in brown sauce, skirt steak and caffe con leche were off-the-charts good. The coconut flan was just OK but that didn't exactly stop me from inhaling it. Finally, the cops got served before me but they were on a call as some pregnant woman was in a fight. I used to work nearby years ago(2008). I now live in Miami, but have returned over the years every chance I get when I'm nearby. I used to love their ham and cheese empanadas. I went there on 6/3/16, and ordered two ham and cheese empanadas to go. I was happily devouring my first empanada, when I bit down on something hard. I thought ham bone. Nope! Ive had breakfast and dinner here so far and I was very pleased. New to the area and originally from Hialeah, I'm partial to authentic Cuban food and I get at least a weekly fix. While white rice would seem to be a staple, it can sometimes be disappointing, but theirs was good. The picadillo was different than I had eaten elsewhere, but also very good. My husband had a churrasco that was a little smaller than I'm used to seeing, but he said he liked it. Their hot sauce is no joke! If I could give this place zero stars, I would. The young lady (if you want to call her that) has a horribly nasty, passive aggressive, attitude every time I go there. My husband, however, liked the super greasy, under seasoned, pathetic excuse for Latin food in the rare event that I would end up stuck at the office longer than usual. After I started to complain to him that the girl behind the counter was always being rude to me every time I walked in to pick up his order, he opted for Tijuana Taxi Co. as an alternative go-to (which, by the way, is Coral Springs' best kept secret) Unfortunately, Tijuana Taxi Co. is always out of flan because it's so good. So, about three months ago, I was running late so my husband ordered food from Tijuana Taxi Co. but there was no flan available so he asked me if I could pick him up a flan from Latin Bohemian Grill and I reluctantly agreed to. So I walk in and ask the young lady, "May I have a flan please?" She looks at me with a funny face and goes, "A whaaaaaa?" And I repeated, "A flan." And then she goes, "Oh, you mean a flán?" And I'm looking at her like-- what the actual fuck? Her English is better than mine... she literally just repeated what I said, but with a phony sounding Spanish accent. "That's what I said." I replied. She then rolled her eyes and gives me the flan. Since she wanted to roll her eyes, I snatched it out of her hand and where it said 'Gratuity' on the receipt, I wrote 'HA!' Because she was just being obnoxious and annoying. So then today, my husband begs me to pick him up a flan from there and so I told him to please call ahead and order it because the last time I walked in and asked for a flan she, apparently, could not understand what I was saying...because...ya know... flan is a very difficult word to understand without the Spanish accent. That way, I can walk in, say that I'm picking up for (insert my husbands name here) and avoid the flan versus flán fiasco. So he went ahead and called in his order. I walked in and the same young lady was behind the counter. I said to her, "I'm picking up an order for (insert my husbands very uncommon, unique name here)" and she goes, "But what did he order?" And I look at her and I ask her, "Are you serious?" so I exit the restaurant, retrieve my phone from my vehicle, call my husband and as I'm walking back in the restaurant she magically has the order of flan waiting at the counter. But I thought there were 500 orders in their dusty, empty restaurant and at least 20 of those orders had the same, exact, very unique name as my husband. How did she figure it out all of a sudden? She was being passive aggressive, annoying and rude. Furthermore, I was just leaving work and I was TIRED. I don't have time for the inconvenience of walking back and forth to and from my car in heels and a suit when it's 105 degrees outside because that moron wants to play stupid. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. Needless to say my husband doesn't want to eat there ever again. If you like nasty attitudes and subpar, overpriced food, then this is definitely the place for you. PS After looking through reviews of this place, I'm glad to see I am not imagining this lady's foul attitude. Also, I'm sensing a pattern here. I promise I'll review something that isn't a salad again soon. A co-worker was in town from New York for training and said he wanted some good Latin food. Looking at places nearby the office he suggested Latin Bohemia Grill. I was interested in trying the steak sandwich but I really just wasn't that hungry, so I went with a chicken Caesar salad. I felt like I was taking a risk, getting a Caesar salad from a Latin place. There's a lot that could've gone wrong. My only complaint with the salad was that there wasn't a lot of lettuce compared to the chicken. It wasn't completely scarce, but talking from a ratio standpoint there was just SO MUCH CHICKEN comparatively speaking. That being said, the chicken was phenomenal. Pan fried, seared to perfection, the outside so crisp with the inside still tender and juicy. The dressing and parmesan cheese were on point with what I'd expect from a good Caesar salad. I also had an empanada. While it was huge, it just didn't offer enough kick to it from what I'd expect from a Latin restaurant. It tasted more like meat in a red sauce, maybe a really mild sloppy joe, could've used a lot more seasoning. The outside was nice and flaky though. read more

In town for the night and looking for some good Cuban food close to our hotel and decided to visit based on reviews. I have to say the food was very good and the cafe con leche was the icing on top. The staff was very warm and very fast. We ordered: Drink: passion fruit juice delicious Appetizers: beef empanada and guava and cheese empanada -- DELICIOUS & A must have. Main course: fried chicken chunks with mixed rice and beans (arroz moro) and sweet plantain (maduros). Sweet plantains and rice were warm but still good. My husband ordered the Lomo Salteado (steak and veggies) with white rice -- his verdict -- it was just ok. Final order: café con leche - for those who enjoy Latin coffee you will find this delicious. I give them a 4 star because decoration is a bit outdated in my opinion but regardless of this the place is clean and pretty spacious.
