I put in my order 20 minutes before I arrived but when they got there, I waited at the register for someone to help me for about five minutes only to find that they hadn't processed my order. I waited for an additional 20 minutes for my chicken pesto sandwich to come out. Every single piece of chicken was inedible. I couldn't even chew it because it was like thick rubber. The focaccia bread was good but there was so much of it for the amount of chicken you get. The chips were tasty, and the croissant I ordered was also very good. But I don't think I'll be ordering another sandwich from this place. I left hungry and out of $15. read more

We had such a wonderful experience at Laurel Cafe today! We walked there with our dogs expecting to only grab a coffee and head back home. Instead, we were met with big smiles and such a yummy menu. We ended up hanging on the patio and had such a lovely, and delicious brunch. The pastries were amazing too. The service was outstanding. The two young guys that work there went above and beyond to make sure all of us, dogs included, had everything we needed. This cafe is located off Canyon Golf Road. There are a lot of parking in this parking lot. The ambiance of this cafe is welcoming, earthy with a lot of plants in a zen-like environment with all the light colors. When you walk in, you'll be greeted by the staff. One staff gave us menus before we reached the cashier. You'll order at the cashier and get a number for your order. If you order to go, it will be boxed up and if you dine in, you'll get your food on a plate and will be given utensils. The staff will pick up your dirty dishes when you are done eating. They service breakfast and lunch. I ordered the Patty Melt with a side salad. The portion size for both sandwich and salad was small. The Patty Melt was tasty but the cut of the beef patty and the thickness of the bread was less to be desired. The side salad was a mixed salad with a few cherry tomatoes cut in half. The dressing was packaged in a small container but it was not closed fully so my salad and sandwich was trenched in dressing. The offered water and cups around the dining room. You can purchase coffee, tea, bottled drinks and pastries as well. Overall, I think this cafe is beautiful and is needed in this area. This place is adorable and the food was AMAZING! We got the huevo ranchero toast, turkey croissant, and "that's a wrap." Everything was incredibly fresh and flavorful, and the in-house baked breads were superb. Even the house dressing that came on the side salad was perfect. We also had a latte and a cortado that were wonderfully balanced, and finished with a cinnamon roll and a raspberry cheese pastry. The staff were friendly and super quick--even though the restaurant was about half full, our orders came out in a flash. And I love that this business is locally owned and operated by people who really care about doing things the right way. We were there around 1:30 on a Saturday and I found myself wishing they were busier--they deserve to be packed every weekend brunch! We'll be making this a regular stop! The bowl had two eggs, a few pieces of potatoes, a couple pieces of bacon, refried beans, and topped with some salsa verde and queso fresco. Pretty darn good. Bacon is thick cut and chewy so ask for crispy if you're particular with texture. Okay, the pancakes I thought were fantastic and really big. Very impressive. If you're hungry, you might wanna go for the pancakes, eggs, and bacon plate. Anyway, overall we had a good time. Very good. Clean inside and everyone was nice. Also, watched one of the employees wiping off the utensils (I assume cleaning off water spots - nice touch). But, got grossed out when she dropped the cloth on the floor, picked it ip, & kept wiping. The almond croissant and cheese w/ raspberry danish were a tie for favorites with the matcha chocolate chip coming in 3rd. The coffee was good, nothing fancy so you can't get lost in the menu. The food was great. I never heard of a French enchilada but now that I've had one I am going to be on the lookout for them! The verde sauce was really good, fresh made, tomatillos were cooked perfectly. The bananas pancakes were a hit! Perfectly paired with maple syrup and pecans! The egg croissant also great!! If I had listened to people on NextDoor I would not have tried Laurel Cafe but I'm glad I did. Though it is counter order we were treated right away and seated while we perused the menu. I was half way through my Tex-Benedict before I remembered to snap a pic. The pastrami was tasty, eggs perfectly poached and the sauce had a great "kick" so I didn't need Chalula. The Brisket melt was spot on with plenty of meat and moist but not messy. If possible the pancakes even tasted healthy. It's a small menu but we'll be back for sure. read more

It tasted like coffee water with the tiniest bit of chai seasoning. Reminded me of the time as a kid I tried to make tea with my mom's coffee maker without cleaning it first. This place is super cute and quietly tucked away in stone oak off a golf course. The chicken salad on brioche lunch was really good- it had a lot of onions which I liked today, but some might not. I also had some pastries to go: The croissant was buttery and delicate. It has some type of filling but so little of it that I'm not sure what it was...tidbits of apple as with cinnamon? The chocolate chip banana muffin (?) very few chocolate chips and a slight hint of banana ....maybe. Very processed tasting. A very large cookie with white/chocolate chips.
