I came here with my family for my birthday dinner and since it was on a random weekday, there was no wait and we were seated immediately. The first part of Le Mekong that caught my eye was a large glass decor with a waterfall in the middle of the restaurant. The ambiance was definitely more classy than your typical Vietnamese restaurant. The food was fantastic, authentic and they even had a roll-your-own Vietnamese fresh spring roll option! The dinner menu prices are very reasonable for the amount of food they give you. We left quite stuffed with boxes of leftovers. - Pho beef: For $8.50, you get to choose three different meats including flank, tendon, tripe, meatball, eye-round steak, and brisket (lean or fatty). They also give you abundant amounts of basil, cilantro, lime and bean sprouts and a spice rack for those spice lovers. - Lemongrass tofu: Lots of lemongrass flavor...lots and lots of it. I loved it because the flavor was so strong and the tofu was the perfect crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It was a bit dry though so use up that teriyaki sauce they bring you on the side. - Roll-your-own angel hair noodle: They bring you a whole packet of rice paper and a warm water container so that you can dip and soften the rice paper. There's plenty of meat, noodle and vegetables to wrap 8 or more ginormous spring rolls. It's a neat experience - I highly recommend it!! - Spicy pho: On the menu, I think it was supposed to be with egg noodle but we replaced this with your classic pho noodle. It certainly gets spicy...I had a sip and I knew that was more than I can handle. I'm generally a pansy with spice anyways. Everyone else loved it. read more

Best pho broth I've had yet. We ended up here because of a last minute change to our meal plans and I'm glad we did. The parking lot is a madhouse due to large Asian vehicles weaving in and out, and some stereotypical driving habits that come to life here. Just watch yourself in the parking lot. Once safely inside, you'll notice the usual Vietnamese-esque decor for families, and you'll notice something helpful; You might be the only gringo in the room. This is a good thing if the food you are about to partake in is enjoyed by the ancestral transplants where you happen to be sitting. Sure, they are all staring at their cellphones at a table of four, but maybe it's a cultural thing? The pho is quite possibly the best I've had in the United States thus far, because the broth has a slight sweetness to it that differentiates it from the usual broth you get elsewhere. That's not to say the other places are bad, but this one is special (at least for now). The veggies and the meats are visibly fresher as well, so there's that. When we are in this area, I look forward to coming back to the restaurant, and not the parking lot. read more

We have been here twice and both times gotten to go food, but the restaurant is nice on the inside for anyone considering for a sit-down experience. We've had the vegetable pho and shrimp pho both with vegetable broth, as well as the spring rolls with shrimp. The pho comes with a generous serving of broth, and plenty of toppings such as Thai basil, cilantro, sprouts, lime, jalapeño, and small sides of hoisin and sriracha sauce. The flavor is superior to other places we've tried in the Duluth/ Johns Creek area, and the spring rolls were so good as well and very fresh! This is our new go-to place for pho and Vietnamese food. Food: 4/5 We ordered a chicken pho, which was pretty good and I would definitely recommend the dish. We also ordered a Spicy Basil Chicken which was exceptional. Lastly, we had a Tom Yum soup which was extremely sweet. It definitely had a less than unpleasant taste. Ventured out of the neighborhood looking for a good pho place to eat. I saw all the great reviews and though why not! Mildly disappointed and not worth the 45 minute drive. There are some restaurants that are worth it and when you think back you have good food memories. This was not the case. As a Vietnamese person and someone who's had it growing up (obviously nothing beats moms home cooking) but we try and find something that is very close. While this place is clean, trendy and the wait staff were wonderful the food was not up to par to authentic. Really a watered down version catering to the typical American who orders sp4 all the time (Saigon cafe reference lol). The only thing that I didn't like at all was the bubble tea, it was tasteless. I'm not saying the food was bad! It was good but not authentic. We ordered the egg rolls they were good but they came out with some kind of sweet sauce that you usually get from Thai restaurants not the original fish sauce and that's what Vietnamese food is about their fish sauce! That's like the signature sauce! We ordered typical dishes one rice dish one pho. Was not wow'ed but defiantly edible. In the end since I live 45 minutes away I would not travel far for this again. The only pho place I'll eat near Alpharetta / Johns Creek. It's no Pho Dai Loi but sometimes I can't make the drive down to BuHi during the workday so had to find a backup location closer to work. This place is clean, quick and yummy. It's a bit more expensive than many other pho spots but that's based on the location more than anything else, I think. The beef pho is killer and comes with a huge portion of herbs, sprouts, limes, etc. Recommended! read more

Definitely the best Vietnamese restaurant around the area. Although they don't have that many competition here until you go further out to Duluth and Pleasant Hill Rd, they certainly have one of the best locations in Johns Creek. Located across the street from H Mart, Le Mekong sits in a busy strip mall with plenty of other food choices nearby. Although parking can be bit hectic the food here is certainly well worth the trip. My family had the classic beef pho and I tried out the pork chop combo. The pork chop was nicely grilled but I think it goes better with the vermicelli option. Phos were top notch as to be expected, very reasonably priced and the ingredients are quite fresh. The beef steak definitely tasted chewy and not overly cooked. Decor is quite nice and I suspect to be able to survive in a affluent suburban neighborhood they had to quite invest in the interiors. Especially the waterfall I'm certain a lot of people were drawn to it upon entering. Service was pretty decent although it was a pretty quiet night when we went, the waitress were quite efficient and took good care of us. Although the parking lot were quite full I had to guess most of the cars were patrons of the various restaurants in the lot. This is my favorite pho restaurant! The location is really easy to find next to the fresh to order and abbotts grill! The parking lot gets super packed during the dinner rush but if you go during lunch or an off time there is plenty of space! The food price is fair! It's like 8.50 for a bowl of the best pho around! However, the chef I think changed like 3 times because the soup is not the same quality nor color of when I first went there! The restaurant looks super fancy compared to your normal pho places too! Which I'm not complaining! The servers are also really nice and attentive which is amazing! I never feel any type of why when I tip! They earn it! The flavor has changed over the years and I'm nostalgic! But the quality is still pretty good and I've heard from a birdie that the kitchen is SUPER CLEAN! So have faith! And try them out! read more

Visited after I couldn't stand looking at a friend's photos of the place on Instagram any longer without trying the place (it's her fave!). I am so so glad that we did. We figured Pho would be a good appetizer. Since the bowl was bigger than my head we thought that would be a good, light start. It was so fresh and lovely. We both ate quite a bit, and still left with a HUGE container full to finish at home. From there we went for the pad thai and the basil chicken. Hands down the basil chicken was the favorite. Both were good, but the freshness of the veggies and the chicken, and the superb flavor of the sauce. Just couldn't get enough. The prices are reasonable. Definitely worth a return trip, though they don't have a separate lunch menu...so in that case I'd probably just stick with dinner dates. They use paper over their tablecloths. Used to hate that. Until I had a baby. Who turned 1. Who loves to color. On everything. Built in entertainment for my child (and yes they have crayons, just ask!)? Sold! If you think hmmmm...I am not sure about Vietnamese food...I promise you there are lots of things on the menu that will seem very familiar to you. I recently visited this restaurant for lunch last week. I am alway happy with the overall service and their food is always consistent. I've tried their beef combination pho, salmon and fresh spring rolls. The first thing you notice when you walk into this restaurant is their beautiful decor. They have this beautiful indoor water fountain fixture in the center of the restaurant that is hard to miss. It creates a very peaceful and relaxing environment while dining for lunch or dinner. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're craving a hearty bowl of pho or any Vietnamese noodle dish. The service here is stellar and your water glass will never by empty. Not the same anymore. Management has certainly changed but unsure if the owners are the same. I've been a customer for many years and in the recent 1 or 2 years, the place has gradually gotten much dirtier and untidy. It used to be so clean and inviting. Now, table sauces are disgusting, there's this grimy feeling on the furniture, there is an overall lack of care in the dining room. Too many inattentive servers now. Don't play with your phone behind the bar counter!!! Food is still good but portions have shrunk...the plates have shrunk as well. Prices have been raised, too. That's a double whammy no-no!!! Sad. I had been meaning to stop into Le Mekong, given that it's a block away from my work, and I'm always looking for good Pho. I was knocked off my feet. Read on... The first thing you have to know, is that Le Mekong is located in the same shopping plaza as the Bank of America, on Abbott's Bridge and Medlock Bridge. GPS sent me ALL over the place, in an area that has 4 strip malls on all 4 corners...be aware. I walked into a very modern, spacious looking space, and noticed the black chopsticks and linen napkins right off. After being seated, I ordered the Pho combination, with lean and fatty brisket, and round eye. This steaming bowl of meaty, broth goodness was set before me, with super-fresh herbs and sprouts, and the smell of the 5-spice hit me instantly. I doctored up my soup, and dug in, and couldn't stop eating...I mean I literally didn't stop until the bowl was gone, not for water, or anything. It was THAT good! The menu is good, the service was awesome, and the price tag was well-below what I expected for lunch. I can't say enough good things about Le Mekong, and have already told my husband we WILL BE returning...and VERY soon. I'll be back even sooner, given that it's one block away from my work. Simply excellent! They are an excellent choice for Pho or Wonton Egg Noodle Soup w/Pork. I haven't tried their other dishes, but they look amazing. I have been to Pho Bac, What the Pho, I Luv Pho, Lotus Vietnamese, Saigon Cafe, Great Wall food court, etc and nothing comes close to the care and complexity that you can taste in their broth. You can taste the star anise and other hearty spices, veggies, and herbs that go into the broth. The ambiance is very tasteful, modern yet warm, and ultra clean. Service is professional. My water was empty several times & I had to ask for refills at least twice. I know some people may say that's a lame way to judge service, but that's the one thing I look at every restaurant. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the huge water feature in the middle of the dining room. It was so pretty, as was the rest of the restaurant! They also had peaceful music playing in the background, which was very relaxing. We browsed the drink menu first. They do only serve wine and beer here. The wine list is decent, with more white wine to choose from than red. They also offer a few different Asian beers. We ordered a 33 (Vietnamese beer) and a Tiger (beer from Singapore). I thought they were both pretty good. The food we ordered: -Grilled Pork Rolls ($5.00) - This comes with four rolls. Tasted fresh and was served with a yummy sauce. Good, but nothing too special. I probably wouldn't order again. -Seafood pho ($9.00) - YUMMY!! Comes with shrimp, squid, and imitation crab with rice noodles and is served in beef broth. I would definitely order it again! -Spicy Beef Noodle Soup ($8.50) - My girlfriend ordered this and loved it. I just had a taste of the spicy lemongrass broth. Not my thing, but she was raving about it. All of the soups are served in a "medium" bowl, but you can make it a large for an additional $1.50. The medium is already huge though. I've been meaning to try Le Mekong for the longest, but today at lunch I opted for their neighbor, F2O, because it seemed like a good idea to pay $10 for a mediocre salad. Later in the evening, when I found myself screaming across the table so my date could hear me at Abbott's, my lunch decision was no longer one filled with regret. We escaped the out-of-place, high pitched , suuuper loud singing of the dude in the Abbott's bar and walked next door to Le Mekong. Ahhh...silence. It was glorious. And this place is cute! I knew I was going to like it as soon as we walked in. Aside from the server taking a little long to bring a wine list, things were damn near perfect. Said server had this adorable way of approaching the table like he was making an entrance onto a stage for the first time. I can't blame him...the laughter coming from our table was echoing throughout the fairly empty restaurant. We started with the Vietnamese Mini Crepe, a suggestion given by the server when my date asked. Delicious! I think I read the menu 800 times before deciding on the Pan Fried Scallops with Asparagus...there was just so much I wanted to try. The decision was great, however - I loved it. Date got the Grilled Pork Chop with Rice and he enjoyed it, but didn't share. I liked it when the chef came out and asked how we liked our food and also really enjoyed that they were attentive without being all up in our faces. But one of the best parts for me was how they didn't rush us out despite the fact that we were still sitting there laughing it up 20 minutes past closing time. The descriptions of the interior in prior reviews are fairly accurate, but don't let all the references to it being fancy and upscale deter you - it's not overpriced, and you won't feel out of place if you're not dressed up. A close look at the decor will reveal linoleum tile floors and furniture that's not high end - just clean and well-maintained. The "fancy" descriptions are just in relation to the average Vietnamese restaurant. The service is polite and well-mannered. If they think something is helpful, e.g. an extra bowl for people sharing pho, they'll bring it even if you tell them you don't think you need it. The food appears to be authentic southern Vietnamese cuisine, and the menu may not be the most extensive I've seen, but it is large, and has a good selection of quality items. We started out with the house salad (green papaya, mango, and apple w/ shrimp, carrots, a light vinaigrette, peanuts, and herbs), along with the betel leaf rolls (Bo La Lot - grilled beef w/ onions rolled in betel leaves.) The salad was fragrant and packed with subtle flavors. The rolls were cut into pieces that could easily be picked up and eaten with chopsticks, which came in handy, because there was some oil in them that might have made them a little messy for eating with fingers. The leaves were almost charred, and the beef was packed with the consistency of a sausage meatball, so they held their shape fairly well. The onions added nice aroma and flavor. For an entree, we shared a large bowl of pho ga (chicken pho.) You may spend one or two dollars more here for pho than your average Vietnamese place, but it's still a great value. The large pho is a huge bowl. The broth was nicely seasoned, and they seem to serve it with more onions than I've seen in other Vietnamese places. The chicken was fresh and cut into nice, small pieces - almost pulled. I would have to agree with Daniel that this place offers better value than Co'm in Dunwoody. Aside from the "Chef's Specialties" section, most of the standard fare is only a few dollars more than you might spend at the type of Vietnamese place you'd find next to a gas station. It's a solid option for Vietnamese in the Johns Creek area. read more
