I love this neighborhood French restaurant. It delivers consistently good authentic fare with friendly service and unpretentious attitude which makes it in my view far better than other nearby French restaurants. I love their extensive menu, like a Parisian brasserie, there's always something to everyone's liking. Went there last night to celebrate an occasion and had a great time. Service was friendly yet attentive, ambience was charming and refined but not stuffy and everything we ordered from the escargots to the steak frites, the chevre salad to the bouillabaisse was delicious. Merci beaucoup!

    Charming ambiance.

Le Petit is a little dream. I love everything about this place. The charming ambiance, the graceful service, and yes, most of all, the delicious food! The fish is always cooked properly. Their sauces do the French proud. Their selection is varied, fresh, and beautifully presented. We like to split everything when we go there, so we can enjoy more menu items. Last night we tried: the Goat Cheese Salad, which has a nice crunchy coated piece of soft cheese on a perfectly dressed salad; the Porcini Mushroom Ravioli (I believe it might have been the most delicious I've ever had and I've had a lot of Ravioli--and recently visited Italy--don't hate me Italian relatives); the Trout Almandine special (again, perfect); and for dessert a soufflé with vanilla bean sauce you're tempted to drink from the cup. And to top off a perfect meal, we had a pear dessert wine that was delicate, aromatic, and refreshing. Oh how I wish they were in Claremont! But Le Petit is worth the drive!

A very cute French restaurant and the food is so good! Love the escargot and lamb chops. Ask for some more bread and dip it in the oil from the escargot, it's so good! The French onion soup is so good too!! Make sure to make room dessert, especially the chocolate soufflé. It takes time so make sure to order ahead Corkage is $25. All the servers are so nice! And they take reservations.

Had a wonderful birthday dinner here! We brought a bottle of wine to go with our delicious meal. Corkage fee was $25 (not bad at all!!!). For apps we ordered the escargot, tartar de bouef, and lobster bisque. Main course was softshell crab (a special) and branzino. For dessert delicious chocolate and grand Marnier Soufflé. Everything was well paced, great service and a lovely setting. We look forward to coming back! Valley was $14 cash only but there are meters if you can find one!

Came here for my birthday and it was pretty good! Honestly, the highlight was the fresh bread that they gave for free with their sides. My mom got the great lobster deal and it was so yummy with the melted butter and potatoes. My duck was super yummy but I don't think I enjoy tangerine flavor in my savory, but that's my preference. But I ate the whole duck and it was crispy! My dad got the lamb and he wasn't really a fan, but I enjoyed it because it had some skin that made it softer. I also liked the couscous. We also liked the soufflé!

A really cute quaint restaurant. We sat outside which was nice. The food was very good and everyone seemed to enjoy their meal. $$-$$$ Service was very prompt and they checked on us throughout the evening. We never felt rushed. There is valet parking as well as street parking. There was no wait to be seated. The whole atmosphere was a really nice vibe and I look forward to going back one day. Wonderful dining experience.

My husband and I had the most magnificent experience at Le Petit on a Sunday when they usually don't open. It was a pre-fix menu with incredibly delicious dishes. My husband had the burgundy omelette, lobster bisque and the tiramisu...absolutely lovely. I had the duck pate, merguez and eggs and a delicious sorbet. The service was superb and the food was equally spectacular. Do not pass on this restaurant! We're going tonight.

We had the pleasure of dining with our family, a party of 12, last month. Everyone was extremely pleased with our choice of Le Petit Restaurant. The room was warm and cozy and our server was outstanding. He was very pleasant, knowledgeable and available. Despite being a large party, we were well taken care of. The food was excellent. I tried to get my grandchildren to try the frog legs and escargot without success, but we did try the duck mouse. It was flavorful and came with jams, nuts and little gherkins. My entree was the raviole which was in a wonderful gravy. My daughter had the duck that she liked. I tried it and I can see why. One of the highlights of the evening was a round of souffle that the grandchildren adored. I can't say enough nice things about this restaurant. Next time we are in LA we'll be back.

I had an accidental pleasure of walking into this restaurant and having the best experience. First, let me start off by saying that I've been on a hunt for crème brûlée for over a year now and I was at a point of just giving up really. The ambience is very inviting, I knew as soon as I sat down. I was really feeling the vibe inside the restaurant. I had no idea what to expect, but I want to definitely give a special shout out to Lauren my waitress/hostess for the evening as she was completely amazing and gave the experience a very top notch high level service with a splash of VIP treatment, and I was thoroughly impressed with how she really came through for me and making my birthday so special with having a traditional setting of the crème brûlée, toasted and torched in front of me for my viewing pleasure. The icing on the cake was when the whole restaurant started singing to me whom I am a complete stranger to all these people and to my surprise, even though I'm super introverted, and don't like any attention on me, I felt very valued in the moment. I also have to say that the owner of the restaurant Jay is completely humble and makes you feel like you're eating at home. Definitely a place for you all to check out and I know that I'm coming back because I took a look at the menu and there's several items on there that I have to try to next time. Though I did have a couple of their famous dishes. I don't have any pictures of because my whole thing for the night was crème brûlée so I'm posting that here for you guys to see. Thank you, Le Petit for making my birthday is so special

Wowwww this spot knocks it out of the park! I have been driving past Le Petit for so long! Visiting the Great Greek (also amazing) right next door for so long and I feel like I should have went here sooner!! This place has it all! Atmosphere, kind folks, delicious food, and a variety of cocktails! I had the lobster crepes after trying to decide what to have for so long since everything looks incredible and my wife had the sage pumpkin ravioli. These two dishes were top notch flavorful without paying top notch dollar. I love that the crepes came with a side salad!! Delicious salad dressing!! Fantastic wine!! And to end the fantastic experience, we had macarons to go that were delectable!! The atmosphere here is small, romantic, old cute Italian / French restaurant feel. The Christmas decorations are up and they're so cute! The staff was super friendly and the food came out so fast! Everything here was next level. We can't wait to go back to Le Petit again!!

Some menu items changed along the way, but the core of Mistral and its signature dishes always stayed the same., so recently the restaurant was sold and it's now under new ownership, and I guess the new owners decided to make some changes. The interior dining area was updated with more comfortable and intimate booths, which look great and feel very comfortable. However, I was not prepared to the changes they've made to the menu. Let's start with the service. Almost all of the original staff, except one or two people, have been replaced by younger waiters (not necessarily better ones). Our waiter forgot to enter several of the appetizers we ordered which was not a a big deal, but unfortunately it was just the beginning of our disappointment. Mistral's French onion soup was always one of the best anywhere. It came burning hot, topped with crispy toasted bread and a lots of melted mozzarella cheese. And they have completely changed it. There is no melted cheese on top. Instead, you receive a small triangle of bread with cheese inside it. What? The soup was warm rather than hot, and the entire dish was nothing like the original soup. Another signature dish was Mistral's crispy skin branzino. They have now replaced it with poached branzino. Are you kidding me? You took one of your best dishes and turned it into something that tasted like hospital food. I'm not here to tell anyone how to run their business, but I'm here to say that if it isn't broken, don't fix it. If the new owners want to add their own touch, introduce new dishes like the hanger steak, which was excellent, but don't take signature dishes that loyal customers have enjoyed for decades and completely change them. Even the aupoivre sauce on the New York strip, which we have been eating for years and always tasted the same, has been changed (vinaigrette was added to it) and is simply not as good as it used to be. To summarize: - The Caesar salad was great. - The hanger steak was great. - The new cigars were horrible. - The French onion soup has been completely changed and not for the better. - The updated seasoning and sauce on the New York strip are not nearly as good as before. - The crispy skin branzino should never have been replaced with poached branzino. Overall, this was a disappointing visit. I sincerely hope this feedback does not fall on deaf ears. After 35 years of loyalty, we will give Mistral one more chance and hope things turn back around. Please bring back the original French onion soup. Please bring back the crispy skin branzino. And please remember: new does not always mean better.

I love how they have a vegan menu and how varied it is. We got two vegan crepes, one with a butter and jam and the other with a chocolate spread with strawberries added. The wait for the crepes was a bit long but I know with a longer wait usually means fresher food and better quality, so I didn't mind. When my crepe came out, I was sad to see how flat it was. Where were the strawberries? When the waitress returned to bring us utensils, I inquired, knowing I had indeed ordered them and had even been charged $2.50 for them! She told me that she would bring some, as they weren't able to cook it with strawberries in it. This felt odd to me, since I have definitely ordered crepes before with strawberries already in them! She brought out a tiny metal cup with some chopped strawberries. It honestly felt weird just putting them on top when I had expected them to just be part of the crepe. The coldness of the strawberries kind of ruined the crepe experience for me, although it was still a delicious crepe with a luscious chocolate spread. I was also disappointed that the menu had said topped with whipped cream which it wasn't. I'm not sure if they just don't have a vegan whipped cream, but it's odd to put that on their menu that's both on the door and inside if they don't carry it. It would have been even more amazing if they did have that! The outdoor seating was nice and shaded and despite the heat, it was cooler. Parking wasn't too hard to find on the side streets and they also have meters in front.

For starters, I think the pours were kind of lacking? Just feels like much smaller pours than I usually get at wine bars. The menu was pretty small, and apparently out of date because a few of the things we were interested in they didn't have that day. We also had like 3x different people serve us, so by the end of it I wasn't even sure who I should be asking for the check. My friend and I sat outside, so maybe the service would be better inside or at least at the bar, but it was just kind of... average at best. I think our waitress was new, so she wasn't really able to answer any questions, and the ones she did answer, ended up being corrected later. Which actually is TOTALLY fine, like I totally understand. But then when she brought our first wines, she accidentally knocked one over or hit it with the other glass or something (it happened fast) but it shattered one of the glasses spilling red wine everywhere, and even a drop on my white shirt!! She was suuuuuuper apologetic, and I can tell she felt bad, and we were not mad. We just kept saying that its okay and accidents happen. She did even bring me soda water for my shirt. Then, we asked if we can do the charcuterie plate with just cheese and no meats (we don't eat pork) and she said sure. She told us the number of cheeses to choose, we did, but then we got a lesser number served to us by a different waiter, and incorrect cheeses. He kindly brought one of the missing cheeses, but informed us that the lesser amount was actually the correct amount for this menu item. Okay, we would have chosen differently had we known that, but alright. Maybe I'm delusional, but between the cheese mixup and the wine spillage (and staining my white shirt), I kind of half expected a little something from them. Like comping one of the four glasses of wine, or maybe an extra little top off or something to say "hey sorry we're a mess today." I would never ASK for it, because as it was I felt bad for the girl who was new, so we just paid (and tipped of course) and left. Overall, its just nothing to write home about...

It was truly a journey through vintage wines, complemented by an expansive collection of whites, reds, roses, and even beer. There was something for every palate and the selection made the experience feel both intimate and exploratory. What surprised me most was the quality of the food! I ended up ordering the Rosso Veronese. It was dry overall but had a touch more sweetness than I expected, which made it easy to drink given I'm not much of a wine connoisseur. We also benefited from a special on the wine because it had been featured at an event the previous day. The space itself was comfortable and inviting. We grabbed a spot on one of the couches, which gave the evening a more relaxed feel compared to a typical wine bar setup. Pricing is about what you'd expect for a wine-focused spot. It's not inexpensive, but it didn't feel unreasonable either, especially considering the service and atmosphere. Between the knowledgeable staff, the opportunity to sample wines, and the comfortable setting, I'd happily come back and try a few more selections.

Like people said it was romantic and I was like sure, I guess in the pictures it kind of does. In person though??? Wow. Absolutely wow. I was in awe. I wish I could sit there every day. The lights and ambiance are truly insane. I have never experienced anything like it. Let me backtrack too and say that I paid $14 for valet which tbh is not too bad considering I didn't have to worry about my car or anything so it was worth it. Okay the food. We got Parker rolls and the Mezze plate for the table. Wow, the Parker rolls were as you would expect. Buttery goodness. French butter as you know...top tier. Okay the Mezze plate? Every single sauce was so good. The little cous cous thing in the Mezze plate was so cute and yummy. Then the main dishes. Seven vegetable couscous was great. As a Moroccan, I can say it was a great vegetarian version of the dish. Has the staple veggies you look for in a cous cous. My friend got the vegan cauliflower steak and that was so beautiful and tasted delicious. It was a great dish for my vegan friend. Our waiter was so nice and really personable as well. From start to finish, he was there for us when we needed him and we really enjoyed our dining experience because of him. I forgot his name but he's a star. I have already recommended this place to others because it really was so incredible. I am so happy I got to come here.

The place is hidden behind a quaint little door and I think it's a nice date spot. Areas of improvements: Unfortunately the location and style is the place's best asset. I came here to celebrate my gf's birthday and made a note on the reservation that I wanted a special greeting. However, none of the occurred. Not a single note or server or host made mention of that. I was disappointed and left feeling sad that a special night wasn't special at all. I think the little door used to be a special place but now it's become a money-grab. The service is medicine at best. The food is ok. I won't be back anymore. Very saddened about how downhill the place has gone in my experience.

I shared I like Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand and was excited to do a tasting of the three wines he recommended. The Naranjo was bliss. Jake was super fun to chat with and made the already inviting environment, with its nostalgic dark academia decor, even better. Eventually my date and I snacked on some things he ordered which were all incredible too.

Outside was a better temp and ambiance so we elected for that . I was expecting wood fired pizza, but they didn't have it unfortunately :( Not a lot of food options here, more of a casual place for a glass of wine.. so we got wine and charcuterie and left instead of dinner as planned. The cheese board was honestly depressing, with the bread being the best thing on there. I wish there was more cheese .. It was a cute place, but I felt a bit bamboozled . We were sat next to a bush , basically directly next to another couple, which felt like we were in their conversation. My car got trapped in with the parked when we were ready to leave. Service was mid , not very personable . Not sure I'll be back for dinner , maybe if they got some better food options. But cute for a glass of wine if you are local.
