I left 3 messages and no one called me back. What kind of way is that to run a business??

Had a pretty good experience here yesterday when I came for a late breakfast. It was a little busy but we were able to order right away with no wait. I love how they have a vegan menu and how varied it is. We got two vegan crepes, one with a butter and jam and the other with a chocolate spread with strawberries added. The wait for the crepes was a bit long but I know with a longer wait usually means fresher food and better quality, so I didn't mind. When my crepe came out, I was sad to see how flat it was. Where were the strawberries? When the waitress returned to bring us utensils, I inquired, knowing I had indeed ordered them and had even been charged $2.50 for them! She told me that she would bring some, as they weren't able to cook it with strawberries in it. This felt odd to me, since I have definitely ordered crepes before with strawberries already in them! She brought out a tiny metal cup with some chopped strawberries. It honestly felt weird just putting them on top when I had expected them to just be part of the crepe. The coldness of the strawberries kind of ruined the crepe experience for me, although it was still a delicious crepe with a luscious chocolate spread. I was also disappointed that the menu had said topped with whipped cream which it wasn't. I'm not sure if they just don't have a vegan whipped cream, but it's odd to put that on their menu that's both on the door and inside if they don't carry it. It would have been even more amazing if they did have that! The outdoor seating was nice and shaded and despite the heat, it was cooler. Parking wasn't too hard to find on the side streets and they also have meters in front. read more

The entire charm of this place that once was is completely gone since the new owner took over there's no longer a vegan menu now there's a faux grass wall with a neon sign so people can take Instagram pictures. I used to love this place. I will no longer be going back. Unfortunate read more

Can't review the breakfast, but I had the rosemary chicken sandwich and my friend had the salad. Terrible. Chicken was so dry and overcooked. Cheap ingredients and service was terrible. Waited 45 min for a sandwich. Will not be coming back here or recommending. read more

I stumbled upon this place while waiting for my car to be washed and I was pleasantly surprised! First, the outdoor patio is adorable. The fresh flowers, cafe tables and chairs really transports you out of LA for a bit (just pretend you don't hear the traffic on Ventura Blvd). The cafe inside is small and I was originally sad I had to sit on the patio because it was a little chilly, but once I sat down I immediately felt immersed in the French environment they created. It was a perfect spot for reading a book with a cup of coffee! Second, the service was great. They were really knowledgeable with the menu and had quite a few recommendations when I wasn't sure what to order. The menu is pretty big, but they didn't make it intimidating. I also didn't have to wait too long (there was only one other group in the cafe and they already had their food). I got my coffee, which was fantastic, and my food only took about 5 minutes to get to me. There is a sign that says it can take up to 40 minutes to get food during peak hours- so beware! (I'm assuming their kitchen isn't crazy big, which is why it takes awhile) Third, I thought the food was great! The portion sizes are, in my opinion, huge. I ordered the Crepe A L'oeuf as recommended as a breakfast crepe and it was very tasty! Overall, I will definitely be back and I highly recommend this cafe for a lunch date, catching up with friends, or just to relax and have a cup of coffee. read more

Cute place, limited menu and horrible service. Limited menu is not even an issue but the service kind of was. It was a Saturday monring and the place was understaffed. The staff was definitaly not happy to be there and almost seemed pissed that they had to work. They were busy but this is expected of most places in LA that serve breakfast. They told us there was a wait and were almost disappointed that we decided to stay. 5 minutes later they turned another customer away because they were "at capacity". We were told we would be served based on the order in which orders were placed. We were served last despite another table coming in after us. Five minutes after our food was served, 45+ minutes later, they started collecting tables and chairs becuase it was nearing closing time of 3:00 PM. Resturants are a service industry if you don't want to serve you should not be in business. read more

Plants matter more than the patrons. I stopped by this cafe on a whim. The outdoor patio has an abundance of plants, which makes the cafe warm and inviting. The inside is cozy, so taking your order to go or eating outside are better options. They have a bunch of knick knacks and hats, presumably to give off a french vibe. I kept it simple and ordered La Tomate Omelette that comes with salad and fresh bread. The salad was light and refreshing, while the french omelette was overcooked. It reminded me of a dry diner omelette, only worst because it was thin. It was nice that they give a fresh loaf of bread, but not something I want. read more

It's a shame it's gone downhill We loved Nesmon Café when we discovered it back in 2013. It used to have the best crepes in LA--fluffy, moist, and packed with fresh ingredients. Sadly, our recent visit was a huge letdown. The atmosphere is still charming, friendly waiters, but everything else has gone downhill. The crepe texture and taste have completely changed, they are now dry, and tasteless. Crepes were filled with substandard ingredients and scarce. Mine had frozen spinach that was still cold, and my friend's salmon was low quality. (Before we even got home he had to emergency stop for restroom.) Crepes were thin--just a little bit of filling in the center. When I asked for a little more coffee during the long wait, they said, "only one cup." Prices have gone up, but the quality, service, and portions have dropped. It feels like they're cutting quality corners while charging more. If the owner reads this I'd suggest going back to your old pre-pandemic quality it was phenomenal and best in LA read more

Cute little quaint cafe on Ventura Blvd.... Another spot on the Blvd that was an amazing experience. We notice it while driving around trying to find a brunch spot. We noticed the umbrellas and tables first. It's a cute little French bistro cafe that offered good food. There's a couple of seat inside but majority of the seating is outside. Perfect for an afternoon of people watching and grabbing a nice meal. Potted plants offered that nice bistro vibe. There's also plenty of desserts that was offered as well as a little shop. Trinkets and such was offered. Pretty good place that we stumbled upon. Everything is made there to order. Food was great as well as service. read more

If you're looking for a small, cute place, this is it. If you're looking for superb customer service and delicious pastries, this is not it. When I walked in there were several employees working diligently, which I respect, but a simple "Hi, welcome" would've been nice. Instead, I stood there waiting for a few minutes while being completely ignored. I ordered a pudding that looked to die for. They heated it up and served it in this cute little plate so I was really excited to try it, but when I took a bite I wasn't too impressed. It had good texture but not much flavor. Not terrible, but not memorable either. I didn't try their other food so I can only speak on this one pastry. I would've loved to come back and try other stuff but I just did not feel welcomed. read more

Cute cafe on Ventura Blvd with not so cute customer service. I have been here twice and both times had a very unfriendly service from the employees. My first time here I came in with a friend for cappuccinos and crepes. Both were delicious and we loved it. We got the Nutella crepe and added bananas and strawberries. DELISH!!!! The second time I came in for breakfast with my husband and was very disappointed with the food we got. It was tasteless and the baguette we got with our omelette looked pale and not appetizing. It's a French cafe you would think they would serve a good baguette. So we ordered another crepe since we didn't finish our Omellete and egg salad tartine. I might give this place another try and order something else next time and hopefully meet a friendly team member. read more

I LOVE the European feel of this cafe, from the outdoor seating to the interior!! It feels like a little escape away from LA (until you hear the horns blazing from the cars on Ventura Blvd). My go to is their La Verde Omelette (spinach and mozzarella), simple yet so delicious. It comes with a salad and bread tray (with butter and jam) and their bread is so fluffy and crispy on the outside; I always look forward to it :) The avocado toast is a classic...can't go wrong! Tried their Crepe Suzette with orange liquor and sliced tangerine. This is my friend's favorite when she goes to France and she said they nailed it! She couldn't get enough of it! And of course their coffee and iced latte, we always have to get it. Doesn't taste watered down like Starbucks. Definitely a place to add to your list, ASAP! read more

I've never seen so many rude people in one place. One of the eggs in my food was clearly not fresh and spoiled. I tried to explain to them it didn't look or smelled fresh and the manager looked at me in the face and said: "I don't know what you want me to do". Never offered to fix the problem. I politely said, don't worry about it and gave her the plate back. She got all worked up and rudely answered: "I won't " and walked away with the plate that later was slammed against other dishes inside. I work in the restaurant business myself and I would never dare to be as rude to the customers like the 2 blonds in there were to me. If u are the owner be aware of ur servers killing your business! Our first time here, honestly great quality food! Good portion as well. Got a turkey sandwich with chips and gotta say it really filled me up just exactly where it wasn't too much or too less, where I would be hungry later. If you want a France feeling. This is your spot to go to. Also the price is reasonable for the portion of food. Great ambiance from when you order your food to when you leave, you feel acknowledged at all time. To finish we had to try something sweet and what better way than to share a good size crepe with Nutella w/banana and strawberries . I wanted very much to enjoy this place. I've lived in the neighborhood for over 15 years and ever since they've opened I pass by daily on my walks/jogs but I've never felt inclined to be a customer. When my younger sister used to live in CA she liked this place and I may have stopped in once with her. I only ordered a mint tea which was very nicely done. Literally, a hand full of fresh mint leaves with steaming hot water. That was years ago. Last weekend I spotted at least 4 different people with the French toast as I walked by. I really wanted to stop in and order it but we had other plans for brekke. The next morning while walking home from Farmers Market there were only a couple of people there so I decided this is a perfect time to try the French Toast. I normally wouldn't eat out back to back, two hot brekkes on the weekend but I said F it, why not? It did look so scrumptious the day before. We walked in and ordered, my friend had already eaten so it was one order of French Toast. We were given our number for the table and snagged a seat on the sidewalk. Well... things began to take a turn, the minutes passed and passed, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 finally my friend went to check on the order after we saw two other tables receive food. One had been waiting since before we arrived, the other I wasn't so sure of. By this time the place had begun to get a bit busier with everyone waiting, and only drinks coming out. My friend was told it was being prepared then. I can't even comprehend how it took 40 minutes to even begin to prepare one order of French toast. It came out to the table about 5 minutes later and looked delish! Just like the ones I'd spotted on tables before, but then things went south yet again. The French toast was cooked around the edges but every piece was completely uncooked, eggy, soggy and wet throughout. So while it may have looked like a really large size portion, the only edible pieces were all the edges. It costs $15.95 and was basically an entire waste. I left a ton on the plate because I couldn't stomach the soggy wet mess. I have a handful of really yummy French toast recipes that I make at home (marbled challah, baked, fruity pebbles in the air fryer, overnight French toast and all of them are delish!) after trying here I knew there must be a reason why I never give them a chance. I was totally disappointed and this wasted an hour of our day only to be let down. Later my friend mentioned there was a sign hung that read orders can take up to 40 minutes. I wish I'd seen that, although I can't fathom how bread, dipped in egg, and tossed on a griddle can take 40 minutes when there was only one or two orders ahead of us. I didn't see anyone come in and walk out with to go orders or any large catering. It was a disaster, not to mention an extremely warm morning. I'd say skip, the food is certainly not worth the wait and the French theme is laughable. read more

Cute little cafe that offers misters to help beat the heat. Ambiance and service were perfectly fine, food was incredibly average. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing - I tried the Nesmon turkey club which is definitely made with Oscar Meyer lunch meat (at best) and then slathered in mayo. My bf ordered a french omelette that had huge slices of raw tomato wrapped in egg, strange to say the least and bland to offer a few more words. Not sure if their baguettes are baked in-house, but that was definitely the best part of the meal. In spite of my opinion, this place is always crowded so they must be doing something right in there - I just haven't found out what. read more

I had driven by Nesmon Cafe, always thinking it looked nice so finally stopped in for a late breakfast. The sidewalk patio area is very cute, adorned with flower pots and a Frenchy theme. The menu had LOTS of items to try but we ultimately settled on the Veggie Omelette, De Chèvre (goat cheese) crepes, hot coffee and iced coffee and then the Nutella pancakes as a dessert. =) First flag - I had taken a seat at the tables while my friend was ordering - when she returned to the table, she said 'Hmm, the lady taking my order wasn't very nice.' Flag 2, I'd say it took about 20 minutes for us to get our coffee drinks. It wasn't a busy time of day, there were only three tables occupied, so 20 minutes seems kind of excessive. Both coffees were very bitter. After we added the equivalent of Scarface's infamous mound, in sugar that is, our food arrived. I thought everything looked beautiful. I took the first bite of my omelette and loved it. The ingredients, while simple, tasted light and super fresh. I enjoyed the pairing of the omelette with a salad too, it cut through the heaviness of the eggs. Topped it off with some hot sauce and I was happy. My friend on the other hand was not a fan of her crepes. She said they tasted very bland and that the crepes tasted doughy. I didn't try them so I'm just sharing her feedback. She had the goat cheese crepes fyi. Flag 3, the service again. Our plates sat empty on our table for a very long time before they were removed. I can understand 5, 10, 15 minutes, but I think it was more like 20. Again, it's not a big place and it wasn't busy. Eventually, the Nutella pancakes as a dessert arrived. =) Upon the first bite, I was happy again. They are not American pancakes, they look more like crepes, but I thought they tasted delicious. They were topped with fresh strawberries and blueberries and a nice drizzle of Nutella. A side note - I'm not sure if this has changed since my visit but the silverware was self serve! Yikes! Even without the pandemic, that's just plain unsanitary. All in all, I really enjoyed the food at Nesmon. It's the service that's lacking. Not just slow service but no effort to smile nor thank patrons for coming in. This was my first time trying them and I still haven't returned just because of that aspect. HOWEVER, the food is on point in my opinion. So if you can ignore less-than-stellar service, give em a try. read more

As someone who's a regular l can't stress enough how much l love this place. Everything starting from food and ending with the service and types of customers who come here is excellent. My favorite meals are Crêpe Suzette with orange liquor and mandarin slices and whipped cream, crêpe Parisian with Nutella, strawberries, and bananas and of course their famous avocado toast, which is the best l've tried in the valley. My daughter loves banana chocolate smoothie, which is both delicious and nutritious. I love sitting outside and enjoying morning sun on the weekend - that's the best start of my day. read more

The place is just to pretenscious and the prices are insane. No refills on coffee. Every desert is $7 or more. And try ordering anything Ala Carte. It's a NO from me dawg on returning. read more

This place deserves more than its 3.5 star ranking. It's absolutely delicious! It's a tiny kitchen, so yes there's going to be a bit more of a wait. But it is worth it! (Get there before the 10am rush and you'll be just fine) In a French cafe, it's not about getting in and out as fast as possible. Sit, enjoy your time, and enjoy some good food. We got coffees, omelettes, and the citron crepe. The omelettes come with a salad and French bread which was fresh out of the oven. Then the crepe. Holy lawwwwd the crepe. Don't ask questions, just get it. It rivaled some of the best we've had in Paris. Long story short. If you're thinking of going to this cafe but are on the fence because it's 3.5 stars, DO IT! Cutest little French cafe!!! Love love the ambience here!! You definitely do not feel like you are in LA. The employees are super friendly and always smiling!!! They also have French music playing in the background which adds to the amazing experience. The food is also delicious!! It's a cheap Italian brand that cost more than 4 bucks a cup! Overall my experience left me thinking why did I come here? The Cutlery in the baskets was dirty and this place is not cheap. I have to admit this cafe is absolutely adorable and with the decor and music, you feel like you're in Paris temporarily. Having said that, the food really wasn't that good. The staff also didn't seem very friendly - carrying over the Parisian attitude eh? Just kidding but really, smile more. It will make your customers feel more comfortable. For the food, we ordered the pesto pasta (~$10), savory crepe with brie, sundried tomatoes and spinach (~$11) and their egg sandwich (~$12). I've had much better savory crepes and was not impressed. The breakfast sandwich was good but literally had an egg and a slice of tomato on a baguette... for $12. The pesto pasta was okay. We thought it would be a small side pasta. The girl at the counter asked if we wanted a small bowl and we said yes but it ended up being a full size entree plate. Anyway, this was okay but I'm not sure the food justifies the prices enough for us to come back. read more

This is hands down my favorite place for breakfast. They have the best vegan crepes with strawberries, Nutella, and banana. It is topped off with whipped cream, and you would have NO IDEA that it is vegan. Absolutely delicious. If you are lactose intolerant, you NEED to go here. The food at this cafe was delicious and the ambiance is amazing. I live in the area and wanted to try out a new cafe, and was not disappointed by this find. Throughout the meal there was soft and pleasant music playing inside while we ate at pretty tables outside. On the topic of furniture, this cafe has a wonderfully charming vibe created by the vintage looking decor, and i love the mix of chairs which create a cozy environment. Along with the ambiance of this cafe, the food was very satisfying. I ordered a rosemary chicken sandwich and blueberry croissant pudding, both were tasty. the aioli in the sandwich works well with the chicken, tomatoes, and lettuce. I could barely put this sandwich down until it was done. I would definitely recommend Nesmon for a delicious meal in a lovely cafe to be enjoyed with friends, family, or on your own. read more
