I live right down the street , I order online and walk to this location often ... I normally don't have any issues but the other day I ordered 2 kids meals - 1 mac and cheese with potato wedge, and 1 chicken finger with mashed potatoes , I added on a side of baby gravy and one extra finger. When I got home I received 2 2 piece chicken finger meals with mash and one mac I was missing the wedge and the baby gravy. I walked back in a windy rain storm which caused my umbrella to break .. only to have the employee in the back catch an attitude about how it was correct and everything was there .. first things first the order wasn't even made right and you could see that the minute you looked in the box also why would I walk all the way back there in the rain if it was in the order in the first place? Just nasty customer service which is crazy when normally I have no complaints with this location. I will say my food was delicious but I was just so disgusted by that employees behavior when the meals weren't even made correct. read more

Was looking for lunch last Sat. 4/23/22. Made driver turn car around when I found out they'd never had Lee's. It had been quite some time and I sold them on fact their Bonsai sauce was literally the best dipping sauce around. Normally I can give a place three strikes and they're out but on this very rare occasion Lee's got 5 strikes against them. One of the worst experiences I've had. 1) Right off the bat I'm told they have ALL the sauces ... except Bonsai. I 100% should have left then and strongly considered it. Wish I'd had. That was my main reason for choosing Lee's. I'll chalk that up to my own preference though and not hold it solely against them. But then we get into the rest of the strikes ... 2) The young woman working the front counter started acting erratically mid-order clearly intimating she desperately needed to go relieve herself in the bathroom. I wish I was making this part up -- but I assure you I'm not. She started hopping up and down and on one foot, making pained faces, holding her crotch, and complaining about "needing to go". As she zipped around grabbing our condiments and things she acted as though she was going to pass out from holding it in. She offered one quick apology for her behavior but to say it was off-putting and not what you want while ordering food is an understatement. Very unprofessional. 3) After we received our order I asked for my drink cup. She told me I hadn't ordered a drink. So I pointed up to the menu board and read aloud what it says "ALL Combos Come With A Drink". I'd specifically ordered a combo for that reason. Was treated like I was somehow in the wrong. 4) Big water stains all of the ceiling in the dining room. I couldn't' tell if I was eating in a restaurant or a cellar. 5) Lastly, the capper to this bad meal and day, was I got very ill that evening likely due to food poisoning. read more

I went to the Maysville KY store got food and over half had hair cooked into it (chicken, biscuits and potato wedges). I live an hour away I contacted there main office and they sent me a letter for a replacement only to find out no one will honor it. I am a huge fan of Lee's Famous Recipe, especially on Wednesday nights, when they have (and have had for as long as I can remember) a great reduced price deal (4.99 as I type this) on a three piece chicken meal with two sides and a biscuit The fried chicken here is in my opinion much tastier than KFC's. It isn't The Eagle, no, but they aren't trying to be :-) That said, I vastly prefer the oven roasted chicken over the fried, although since it tends to be a bit oily I do not know if it is any healthier - just that it is tasty as all get out The biscuits here are very underrated, and I think they could do good business selling breakfast biscuits in the morning using these as the base. I am always temped to order an extra I'll steer you away from the Mac and Cheese, as it is almost always fairly mushy and tasteless, and instead direct you to the green beans, corn on the cob, and especially the breaded potato wedges (known elsewhere as Jojos, or so I hear). The green beans do need a little salt and pepper to bring out their full flavor, and the corn can be hit or miss depending on how long it has been sitting, but the wedges are consistently great. Service is fast, polite, and efficient. Expect a wait on Wednesday evenings due to the popularity of the special, and on the same basis, don't be surprised if they run out of a few things. Last evening I went to Lee's Hartwell to get dinner after a long day away from home. I couldn't find what I was looking for on the drive thru menu so I asked what size buckets do you have. Got home and put the food out and my hubby said YUK, there is not one bit of seasoning on this - no salt, pepper, or any spice. I admit I doubted him, until I took a bite. Yuk was right.
