The delivery food is always hot & fresh, they rarely forget the extras and are quick to fix any mistakes including remaking the dish if necessary. As you can see, if you look at my previous reviews, my husband and I used to love this place... Not any more. Something has happened within the last year. New cook? Not sure. But it's definitely gone down the drain. Cheese rangoon and the crispy noodles that come with the soup are consistently either pale/underdone and in the case of the rangoon rubbery and chewy, or stale in the case of the noodles. The egg drop soup is consistently over salted to the point of having no other flavor. The last time we got the sesame beef it was cooked to within an inch of its life, tough as shoe leather, and tasted burnt. My soup was both cold AND over salted. Both were inedible. The owner offered me a free soup to make up for it rather than compensating us for an inedible meal. We're so over this place now. read more

The sampler appetizer was horrible. The egg roll wrapper is chewy or tough. The veggies are mainly celery to save money I assume. Is not a great Chinese food place. I'm talking about a year and half ago and I hope they have gotten better by now. Maybe going in person is better than delivery option, I won't know because I won't put myself through that stomach punishing food again! Most of the food at this restaurant is good but it seems the staff is lazy!! I ordered a plate with fried rice with no egg and was told no because their rice is pre-made. After discussing that it was no problem to make a BEEF fried rice with no egg how is it that a regular vegetable fried rice is so hard to make? I was told if I didn't want egg in my rice I had to get steamed rice, the problem with that is I don't WANT steamed rice I want vegetable fried rice with no egg! After expressing this, I'm told it's an extra charge to have the lazy cooks take no more than 10 minutes to cook some rice to make a customer happy. I've never known a single Chinese restaurant in all of San Antonio to have a hard time making some fried rice. And sure I could make my own fried rice without egg but I ordered a plate to save the effort and that plate comes with rice. read more

I just ordered three dinner plates here. One had a very dark hair, one had a staple in the rice and two hairs in the sauce. The other had uncooked pink chicken. I called and they told me I could get three meals for free. So I took the one to show that I was not mistaken. Even showed him the pictures. When I got there I only got one meal. I was told that I had to bring the food in to get an exchange. What a bunch of bull. Very dissappointed. Never will eat here again. read more

A friend of mine ordered for a delivery here and was told an hour and 15 minute wait time, 30 minutes later we called to cancel the order because she lost her card and they refused to cancel because it was "already on the way". We felt rude to cancel if it was already on the way and said we could take one of the orders and someone else would pay for us, she refused because it was too small of an order for delivery even though it was "already on the way". When explained to the woman on the phone what had happened she got very rude and mad and told me again that it was too small and then proceeded to hang up on us. read more

I order from here more often than anybody needs to be ordering Chinese food. I have never eaten at the actual dining room. I love their Lemon Chicken dinner special. The main thing to keep in mind is to plan a bit ahead. 9 times out of 10 it takes about 45 - 50 minutes for the food to arrive (which is the timeframe they tend to give anyway) And, strangely, I have actually had it show up twice way quicker in about 15 minutes. The food is always very fresh and hot. I have only had once where it was getting a little cool when it got here. It does help that I only live three blocks away of course. I have only tried the lemon chicken, the Kung Pao Chicken, Pork Lo Mein, and pan fried dumplings, and Teriyaki Beef Sticks thus far. All good, but the Kung Pao wasn't spicy and the dumplings are hit or miss because I like them crunchy. This is ideal for a Chinese food fix when you don't want to go out. I don't know what their delivery radius is. Their prices are VERY fair for what they give you. Dinner is a better deal than lunch though. you get about twice as much. (enough to easily feed two if you aren't as gastronomically talented as I am) Go ahead an order one of the Lo Mein dishes. You'll see. I recommend the Lemon Chicken. It took me 9 years to find a place that uses the kind of batter I like for lemon chicken after my old place closed because the aged cook died. read more

I had a years-long love affair with this place, but that ended tonight. I found a small dead roach in my fried rice. I don't ever slam a place, on the contrary, I wrote a glowing review the first time. It's with great sadness that I write this update, but I feel it's a public health responsibility. Everything was going great right up to that moment, and worse, none of the restaurant staff looked remotely bothered. My server, Ling, just kind of stood there and eventually picked the bug out of my plate and placed it neatly on her tray as if she expected me to sit back down and finish the meal. I'm extremely disappointed because I really liked Lee's Garden, but I strongly doubt I'll ever go back. I was even just telling my girlfriend that I thought the food was seriously underrated just before I found the bug. Go figure the total twisted irony of that moment. I do agree that aside from this incident, everything about Lee's had been stellar, and though you may decide to visit, I just ask you look at your food before you eat it, because given the staff's attitude, I doubt anything will be done about the problem. read more

I used to love eating here, for several years it was the place to go for lunch. Quick and inexpensive and the meal was pretty good. My last visit however, was horrible. After the last visit, I will never go back. I hate to give bad reviews but I must warn other yelpers to steer clear of this restaurant. Upon my last visit my boyfriend and I were seated and we received our drinks. We ordered our food and just before I took my first bite of rice, I noticed a dead roach. In shock I asked my boyfriend if that was what I thought it was, and he confirmed. We flagged down the waitress and tried to quietly tell her that there was a bug in my rice (there were to men in the very next booth). She took my fork and picked at the roach for a few seconds and said "are you sure that is a roach". She finally admitted that it was a roach and tried to scurry off to get me another plate of food. I stopped her and I said that we were not going to eat and asked for the check. Now at this time, I really didn't expect to pay for that experience, I asked for the check as almost a probe to hear her say, "don't worry about it". But rather, we were made to pay for our two cans of soda, that we didn't even get to finish. At the end of the day, just bad situation made worse, and then made worse again. read more

The service was horrible. They brought out cold wontons with no sweet & sour. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken. The pieces were rock hard. Chicken inside dried out. My husband got the chicken & broccoli which was brought out 5 minutes after my plate. The waitress didn't say it was going to be a few more minutes so we just sat there until she came bk from the back. When we asked her about the plate, she replied with yes I know. My spoon was dirty. My husband said his food has a funny after taste to it. We basically picked at out food & left almost the whole plate there. placed seemed run down.. Which I don't really care about, I'm down with hole in the wall places.. But this time the place was a good indication of what the food and service would be like. Which was pretty surprising to me, because when we walked in there were a lot of to go plates on counter. I would not go back. I got the sesame chicken with steamed rice and an order of cheese ragoons. My food was hot and tasted fresh. My chicken was all big chunks of white meat so I liked that. When you order Sweet and Sour shrimp, you look forward to a fresh meal. I got a dried out, rock hard, stale meal. Horrible customer service, I picked up a order of lemon chicken and fried rice a week ago and received a very burnt piece of chicken and tasteless sticky rice. I called the restaurant and told them about the food and the lady on the phone told me I would be able to come back anytime and get a new order to make up for the horrible food.. I call today and was ordering my reimbursement meal but the lady I was speaking to today told me there was nothing on file for replacement, to make matters worst the lady was talking over me and yelling. Also when I asked to speak to the manager she told me "that she was the manager but she only worked there and their was nothing she could do"??. It's obviously they do not care about customers service and go back on their word. Will not waste my time/money at this establishment ever again!!! read more
