We went their for our anniversary. It was our first time their the restaurant was extremely busy even with a reservation they did not have a table for us inside. We had to see a different host outside which attended us right away. Our waiter was very attentive For appetizer we had the crab cake. Not to my liking to be honest the crab cake was under seasoned and there were not any pieces of crab in the cake it seems it was just cheaper parts of the crab mushed together unfortunately for $28 for one crab cake we were expecting a better result. For dinner My wife had the grilled branzino which was excellent. I had the seafood pasta it was ok.... only problem one of the clams had sand In it and I didn't realize it until I began eating the dish. Overall we had a good time. The outdoor patio has a great ambiance - pillows, heaters, etc. the food is decently priced, I really enjoyed my "'mini" chicken gyros. We saw lots of tables sharing them. I did order tzatziki and pita as an appetizer and it came out with everything else which was slightly annoying bc it was basically the same as the gyro and went uneaten (would have had if it was prior). Service was not the best, I think they were understaffed and it seemed like our waiter was constantly being flagged down and overwhelmed. Lefkes is literally one of my favorite places to go to with the girls. I was at Lefkes last night, and it's NEVER a bad time. The food and drinks are delicious. I got there a little early and sat at the bar. Anthony, their bartender, was super helpful with selecting a cocktail for me. Not only did he make awesome drinks, but he was funny, charming, and can't leave out handsome. When we got to our table, we had our favorite appetizers, baked cheese& and hummus. I had their lamb and orzo, and it's to die for. The waiters were pleasant and fast with the food. I would recommend this place to anyone who just wants a fun night out. read more

Celebrating a birthday we were greeted by friendly and gracious host by a young woman outdoors and the manager Mitchell indoors who didn't mind that we couldn't decide indoors or outdoors. He was very helpful and patient with us. He sat us at a lovely table we had fantastic service by Herman easy valet parking, the whole night was stupendous. Highly recommend. Been here a few times. Ambiance and the interior are amazing. Service was great as well (shout out to the bus boys always making sure we had bread and water!) Food was OK. We got the grilled octopus appetizer, the prime rib steak and the branzino. Here's my thing- the appetizer should not come out with the entrees. We were waiting for 30 min and our entree came out with the octopus. Couldn't enjoy the app. Big minus. Second- the chimichurri sauce was amazing. So flavorful. But the steak had no flavor. Wasn't salted and if it weren't for the chimichurri, I would've been upset. Branzino was great, no complaints there Lastly - the thing that really kinda set me back was the food was cold when it came out. Every dish was cold including our sides of the Brussels sprouts and lemon potatoes. All in all, I'd come back once in a while but it's a better environment to have a drink IMO read more

Everything was great until the end. We had a great time. However the moment we signed the bill some guy came to our table and told us , very rudely, to get up because they needed our table for a larger group. The way he approached our table of 5 ladies really took me by surprise. I understand tables are needed and we were wrapping up to go, but there is a kind and professional way to speak to guests and this guy clearly did not get trained well to provide great customer service. The place has potential to be great but right now it seems a little unfocused. The food is great prepared to perfection with excellent arrangement and presentation. We came in with friends for dinner and were seated upstairs where, I assume, is the place hosting larger parties. The decor is not fancy but tasteful but I would have expected a little more Greek focus. Same I would have expected from the menu but the Raw bar with Sushi rolls threw me a little bit. It is very good to see integration of multiple cuisines but this seems to be a little less of integration and more of offering different cuisines that would necessitate split focus from the chefs and sommeliers. The Greek side of the menu is excellent, Barbounia, Lavraki, Lamb Chops, Greek Salad with Feta Mousse were to die for. What I also found problematic was the wine list. Lots of choices with no focus, which causes a lot of grief in attempting to match the Greek cuisine to the wines like Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, etc where something like Assyrtiko would have been much better, but still the overall impression was positive and I wouldn't mind visiting again if the opportunity presents itself. read more

The place isn't big at all so there isn't many places to sit if you don't vet there early as people will stay in their seats the whole night since you really have no place to get up and dance or anything and get ready to spend money as the place is definitely on the pricey side as in my opinion with prices like that, you should have service that matches which I cant say it does which is huge for someone like me especially with the amount my group spent... Fast forward to a year later and return, yet again, for my brother's birthday, let me also mention that we're coming from Westchester into Jersey. We arrive at the door, and my brother and sister-in-law are let right in... We were right behind them, myself, a friend, the birthday boy, and my other sister-in-law. He closes the door in our face and says that the place is filled to capacity, and once someone comes out that he will let us in... about 30 people came out and people that literally just walked up to the door were let in, one after the other, right past us as if we were in invisible and then people that security knew and then who the hostess knew... it was always something on why we weren't being let in, although so many people kept coming out and being let in... That's just corny at this point, and NO PLACE is that "elite" or anything just because there are some Lamborghinis in the lot... It was beyond beyond rude and inconsiderate as we were just standing there for 25 mins. Not to mention, a patron touched my back end while waiting on line with 3 girls, but guess what? He was let right in because "they knew him," we left right there and then. Unlike its' predecessors howevers, Lefkes offers the Bergen dining scene something unique that the area has not had since acclaimed Nise left Englewood a number of years ago.....High-end authentic Mediterranean cuisine with unparalleled offer of fresh, simply prepared seafood and fish. We were there two weeks in a row and seems like the place is really coming together since their original opening. My family of 3 started our meal last night with a few appetizers to share including Greek salad (fantastic), roast cauliflower (prepared like tempura) and tuna tartare (excellent). Our entree was a beautiful platter with a combination of grilled langoustines and monster size prawns. Nice/fun way to order main meal, as our waiter suggested, is family style for the table. Dessert was also a nice family style platter with Greek pastries including delicious, crusty, syrupy baklava. If you haven't gone yet, suggest you add Lefkes to your list to try. This is a whole operation. They have a tent and a patio not to mention a huge inside. The food is your typical greek fare but they also throw some curveballs. They had tuna tartare as an appetizer which isn't traditional. I went with the chicken souvlaki for lunch and it was awesome. I came with an interesting sauce that I couldn't identify. So good. The spinach pie was authentic but needed to be a little more crispy. The phyllo was a little wilted. The food overall was delicious but it is on the pricier side. Terrible service. The staff here is very pretentious. We waited 15 min before our water was served. We went on a Sunday and it was empty. The entire night, The staff would look over at us from their work stations knowing we are trying to grab their attention and look away. The drinks were really good, pita bread and hummus was also delicious. The food was bland. We ordered the steak, chicken souvlaki & lamb chops. Chicken & lamb chops were flavorless. To charge NYC prices and not have any flavor in the food is kind of absurd. Steak was well done and we ordered medium. The manager came over and disingenuously asked how everything was. Have been going here for quite some time now. The food is amazing the atmosphere is amazing the service is impeccable. I have gone here on a weekend and also during the week Always a nice crowd they are without a doubt obeying social distancing and any rules that Covit19 has set farward. I did notice that all the waiters including the owner all have masks on. Not only the servers but I peeked in the kitchen on my way to the bathroom and all of the kitchen staff have masks on and rubber gloves. the tables are spaced apart. Worrying about catching this horrible disease I notice all these things. I am Very happy to say this restaurant is obeying all the rules. everything that I ordered is always fresh hot and delicious. I have reviewed Lefkes before and it's always been 4/5 stars. Saturday we had reservations for 8 a birthday celebration which we made with Alex. He was cordial but as they get more popular customer service gets worse! The hostess tells us as soon as i get there we have a 2 hour limit! Mind you we haven't sat down and we usually order 2-4 bottles of wine/apps/dinner/dessert/! Reservations was made 3 weeks in advance! Then they put us in the patio! No A/C no ventilation it was 90 and humid! We asked the hostess she stated with an attitude there is no table inside! We did not request a patio table.. We called Waterside (awesome place and customer service) and explain my issue they spoke to Francis and they accommodated our party she greeted us and had a live dj and great food! I will never spend over 1k in a restaurant that does not deserve my business! read more

Restaurant is not very big. Located at a corner that is confusing to get into for parking. Certain foods are ok. Grilled octopus. But dishes are small. Some overcooked. It is in located in an expensive area. I would've expected more. SERVICE IS VERY SLOW!!! Why wait half hour for a drink?? Another 20 minutes for a cup of coffee and the same for a refill?? Too slow. This restaurant is unsafe and is a COVID-19 health risk. Very little has been done to adhere to NJ execute order 183. In particular, the hostess couldn't be bothered to wear a mask for the 1.5 hours we were there and when she did, didn't cover her nose. One of the owners didn't wear one at all and sat at the bar and the hostess station without a mask and even ventured around the restaurant and behind the bar without one. The food was great, the service was good but none was good enough to risk your life for. I'd recommend if you aren't a COVID denier, stay away until they practice safe protocols and adhere to NJ executive order 183. When we pointed this out to the owner and hostess on the way out, it didn't go so well. An aggressive customer service approach doesn't bode well during these difficult times. My guess is retaining customers isn't high on their priority list. My wife and I were pretty sad to go back to Lefkes and have this experience after buying out the upstairs on a Saturday in January to have a birthday party for our daughter. You can only imagine how much that cost and it shows our dedication to supporting this business with so many other choices for an important event. Allowing people to be at the tables for 3+ hours without consideration of people who BOOKED reservations. It was my sisters birthday and we spent it literally just waiting, never being seated, never having a drink, NOTHING. Did not offer any apologies for their terrible service and unprofessional staff. During the first day of indoor dining, most patrons were not wearing masks while entering the restaurant and passing by other tables while getting to their seats. The owner was not wearing a mask while indoors and she was noticeably aggravated when there were complaints. If you are at least a small bit concerned about Covid, I would not visit this restaurant until they revisit their indoor mask policies. We started off with zucchini and eggplant fried chips.... out of this world. Better than we had in Mykonos!!!. Our main course was diver scallops for my husband and filleted sea bream for me. Both were incredibly delicious as well as beautifully presented. Had not eaten here ever, but pass by daily on way to the city. This will definitely be one of our go to places from now on. We had a reservation for 4 people outdoors but do to the rain we needed to be seated inside. They didn't have accommodations so they sat us at a makeshift table near a corridor. Nothing terrible we were happy to be accommodated. After this all went down hill. The waiter disappeared after bringing us drinks. Finally after 45 min of waiting we ordered an appetizer that took another hour to come out. We shared one thing at the table- octopus, shrimp and crab platter. All supposedly fresh. When the food finally arrived it tasted old and flavorless. Mind you this mini appetizer cost $140! Truthfully awful food and service d for a 2 hr wait. This place is horrendous. Came here for a friend's birthday, who had reserved a spot a month ago. They tried to seat us in the enclosed outdoor area on a 32° night. They stated it was heated, but it was still cold. Appetizers we ordered were zucchini chips, spanakopita, and saganaki. Appetizers were over the top oily. For my entree I ordered the paidakia, which left a bad aftertaste. The lemon potatoes were good, though. Also, bus boy came to our table and asked me if I was done with my food. I said no but he continued to take my plate away. I had to grab back into my plate and tell him I'm not done yet and take my plate back. I don't know how this place advertises itself as a Greek restaurant when there's really nothing Greek about it. Horrendous food, horrendous service, and extremely overpriced. Ate here over the weekend and really enjoyed myself. Their garden area is beautiful - they did a great job of providing a relaxing and sophisticated ambiance. I also like how they accept reservations for their outdoor seating. The food we ordered was great. I had the kale chicken Cesar salad, split the 3 dip apps, and tried the spanikopia. Everything was served hot. The serving size and presentation were very nice. Prices for food were fair but cocktails a little high for the area at $16 a drink. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that some of the staff, as well as guests walking around were not wearing masks. The staff were very friendly but I wish this was strictly enforced. DO NOT HAVE YOUR EVENT HERE. Save yourself the stress, headache and embarrassment and do not have an event here. I reached out to Lefkes in January 2022 looking for an event space to host 100 people for my bridal shower. Their events coordinator, Alex, informed me that they have an outdoor patio which holds 110 people, but would be enclosed by a tent that would be ready for Spring 2022. He even showed me pictures of what it would look like and it looked beautiful so we signed the contract so they can host my shower at the end of September 2022. After that, everything went completely went downhill. - After sending out all my invitations to 100+ guests in August, I reached out to Alex with a question in which he then informed me that the tent wouldn't be up in time for my shower. Living in NJ the weather is so unpredictable there was absolutely no way I could host an event outside in September for 105 people with no tent. He offered the smaller tent and said they've hosted events with up to 95 people in which I then agreed although it would be tight it's my best solution. - I requested the events coordinator, Alex to meet me at Lefkes to see the space so we can speak about layout. Alex is only remote, so he put me in contact with Kevin who's a manager I'd be able to meet with. I made an appointment with Kevin in which we confirmed a date and time. On my way to the restaurant I informed Kevin to let him know I was on my way, he then responded letting me know he had to leave early. I understand things happen and reschedules are necessary, but Kevin never reached out to let me know and I live an hour away and was already about halfway there so I then met with a different manager to do the walkthrough. - During the walkthrough, Briggens, the manager assured us they would be able to do everything which we were requesting which included removing the flower wall, setting up 10 tables of 10, clearing out the back area. He also reminded us he wouldn't be the manager working that day but to mention everything to Alex and he will make it happen. - I emailed both Alex and Kevin, all the details which we needed to have set up for the space to be able to squeeze my 105 guests into the space and he confirmed all the details and assured everything would be set up. I then sent a reminder email 2 days before the event to ensure we're all clear on what needs to be done and Alex assured us we will be all set. - The morning of my shower my vendors showed up to the tent at 9:30 am, 3 hours before the event and nothing was set up as we discussed and agreed upon in person and via email. My family and my in-laws were scrambling to set everything up before the 105 guests were about to arrive. To agree to host an event for over 100 people and not be ready for the volume of work that needed to be done was wildly unprofessional and appalling, specially after all the communications which was done. They knew exactly what was happening and what was being done and they completely disregarded it. - The floor in the tent was this plastic wood material but had large cracks in between the pieces, it looked like it was just falling apart. The issue here was that all my guests were wearing heels which got stuck in between the pieces. This happened to so many guests, to the point where they had to remove their shoes to pull it out of the ground. I'll add that these ladies were all wearing designer shoes but regardless of the shoe - how does an establishment like Lefkes host an event with broken floors?? - The parking situation was disastrous. My guests were waiting 10-15 minutes just to get their car valeted. They only staffed one valet and they were hosting 2 parties, mine and another inside while BAU traffic was coming into the restaurant. One of my guests also found a key that didn't belong to them in their car. They think they can do and treat people any way they want and its outrageous. I wrote a positive review about 5 months ago when I hosted a friends birthday but after my shower I had to change it. read more
