I bought my son a $700 bike from this store just a couple months ago so I thought they would help me out. I bought a new chain for my wife's beach cruiser and it was too long. I mistakenly took out too many links and needed just one link put back. The not so friendly guy working today looked at the brand new chain I had in a bag, scoffed and me and gave me a dirty look and as he was walking away said, "bring in the bike and I will put the chain on it." And he was gone. Gave me all of 15 seconds. The way he talked to me and looked at me was horrible and I will never go back. Another bike shop was happy to do it in 2 min. For free. I am in the market for 2 new mountain bikes and I will not be buying them here. Terribly rude and arrogant people. I will forever tell everyone I know about how bad this place is. DO NOT GO HERE. Much better bike shops around. They were terrible to deal with when I bought the bike also. They have one great employee named Cat at the Arlington location. Go there if you have to. Stay away from the beach location. Total Jerks. all very arrogant like they are selling billion dollar yachts. That's the vibe.

When we arrived, we were greeted by a young man who was ready to help. Since we were just browsing, we had a look around. They don't have a ton of options at this location (they have another on Phillips). When we looked at kids bike prices, it gave me a bit of pause. The "cheapest" one we found was over $400 (maybe I'm old, maybe I'm cheap, I don't know), but I wasn't expecting to pay over $400 for a bike. In the meantime, all the staff looked knowledgeable, were able to answer any questions, and they do repairs in house, so this would be a great location to get your bike serviced at.

I was greeted by Aaron who I have to say displayed the utmost professionalism as he asked open, ended questions to ascertain which would be the best new seat. He explained the features, the benefits and was very knowledgeable about the various products in the store. On my first ride the next day, I have to say what a tremendous difference this new seat made! Aaron was spot on regarding his recommendation and it was well worth the investment. Bicycle, etc. should be very proud of the representation that Aaron demonstrated by his customer centered skills, open lines of communication to learn the customers needs and product knowledge. It really made a difference.

I recently encountered an issue with my bike's drive train where I needed a more pro level guidance and service. I am no cyclist, but one of the employees, Don, was nice enough to show me the differences between bikes and components. The selection is sizable with a focus on roadbike style bicycles. They also had a decent amount of mountain bikes and a few beach bikes and specialty type of bikes for triathletes and other lunatics. They also work on bikes at this location. They keep a handful of used bikes that appeared to be in good shape out front. There's plenty of parking along the front of the building, and I believe there are two other locations in Jax if you don't feel like driving out to Mandarin.

I initially brought my bike in because I needed a few specific issues addressed:…read more* Brake service (front brake was slightly contaminated) * Wheel truing on both wheels * Front tubeless wheel not holding air I was clear when dropping it off that I wanted the bike returned in fully rideable condition. When I picked it up, everything looked fine. However, once I got out to the trail, I quickly realized that neither brake was providing adequate stopping power (Shimano XT). I ride black and double-black trails regularly, and the brakes were absolutely not safe for real trail conditions. I brought the bike back to the shop and explained that the brakes were not functioning properly. The technician became defensive and said, "They work fine, I tested them," then demonstrated by stopping inside the shop. That test is not representative of real riding conditions, especially for aggressive trail riding. The shop also informed me that the front wheel was losing air, stating it needed to be retaped and that I might need new tires. I sent the bike back again. The brakes were eventually fixed, but the rim tape issue was not resolved, despite that being one of the original reasons the bike was brought in. Between the initial brake issue, the dismissive response when I raised safety concerns, and the unresolved tubeless problem, this was the worst experience I've had at a bike shop. I no longer feel comfortable having safety-critical work done here and will not be bringing my $3k bike back.
