We are new to the area and tried Lemmo's Grill for the first time last night for take out. LOVED every dish. Penne alla Vodka, Jambalaya and spaghetti and meatballs were fantastic. This is one of our favorite restaurants. The place is on the smaller side but it does have a nicely redone covered outdoor patio. The owner, Mike, is always around and is a great guy; he is a class act. The food is consistently delicious. The skirt steak pasta is really nice. You can't go wrong with the large rib eye steak. The drinks are wonderful too but the bartender (with the tattoos) isn't my favorite person - I'll leave it at that. We will always come here for a nice dinner. We also enjoy a nice occasional lunch here as well. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. It's a hidden gem. read more

I get the same food every time and they are usually good and what I ask for. So this is not about the food, this is about the horrible take out service. Every time I order take it it takes FOORREEVVEER. e.g. this last time ordered, was told 20min. I arrive at 30min since they are always behind. It was not ready when I arrived (surprise!) ended up waiting another 45min. Then I found out they forgot something and I had to wait another 10min for that to be corrected. So in all my original take out time of 20min estimated by them took over a hour. Typically I could care less, but when you have little ones at home waiting for you deriving from 20min to about 75min is enough to ruin someone's evening. read more

We made our first visit to Lemmo's this weekend. We were frankly surprised by its small size, and although there is a nice patio, the very warm weather had us choosing indoor seating. It's a very local crowd and service was pleasant. We were very pleasantly surprised by the food quality - chicken Marsala was excellent served over mashed potatoes (who knew?) and the mushroom Marsala sauce was delicately laced with enough thyme to bring out the earthy flavor of the mushrooms. Hubby enjoyed his spaghetti and meatballs, which were moist and delicious with just enough marinara sauce tossed with the pasta to cover the noodles without drowning them. Some of the beef entrees appeared to be overpriced for a small local place but we didn't sample them, so it could be the best beef north of LA for all we know. We will be back. Food was good expect for appetizer. Ordered wings and they where so dry and looked like they had been sitting for a while and re-heated. Complaint. Then it got bad, Asked Waitress if she got lost In a 209 sf room. I will come back only to see the owner and hopefully help him make this a better place. See how we do next time read more

Yay! I get to be the first to Yelp Lemmo's Grill. Lemmo's Grill is a new small family owned outfit in Moorpark across the street from the high school. They have about a dozen tables inside and small bar area that seems to be quite popular. Additionally a cozy outside dining area with another half dozen or so tables is available if you want to brave the harsh So Cal weather... In terms of food the place seems to be a mixed menu. I had an 8 oz filet that was cooked to perfection. Definitely on par with other restaurants in the area but I surely wouldn't characterize this place as a steakhouse. That steak would have come with a considerably higher price tag at other places. Other people in our party had various pasta and chicken dishes and I certainly never heard anything but good reviews of their meals. The wine list is short but pretty decent especially since as I said they aren't attempting to be any glitzy, pretentious steakhouse. I'm more of a beer guy myself so I was happy to see a couple taps at the bar with handles sporting decent brews. However, don't think this is any sports bar either. The list of beers is also short but decent. The staff is very friendly and the owner is nearly always there to personally make sure that your visit is enjoyable. Although this is a new venture, the owner isn't new to the area or the restaurant business. He used to own Stuft Pizza over in Thousand Oaks which has been a fairly hot spot over the years but unfortunately has gone to hell after changing ownership. Bottom line: Four stars for the good food and great service with reasonable prices. The place won't blow you away by any stretch of the imagination but you will leave with a smile. read more

VERY disappointed with my dinner at Lemmo's Grill. There was only one thing that went right... The busboy Kaden. This young man was by far the hardest working employee I saw. And the only positive in my dining experience this evening. If it wasn't for him we would have been drinkless and no one would have tended to us. We were sat at a back booth which was great. After about 10 minutes our server showed up and asked if we wanted any drinks. We not only wanted our drinks but were ready to order. We placed our order. Flatbread and an order of Spaghetti and Meatballs. I also requested some EVO for my bread. When our drinks arrived, I reminded our server that I would like some Extra Virgin Olive Oil if possible. And still, I had to flag her down to remind her yet again. I tried the bread. More like a packaged pathetic dinner roll straight out of the plastic bag. It was not good at all. Bland. Doughy. Cold. Dense. Then we wait for our dinners. And we wait. And we wait some more. And continue with the ever popular more waiting. During this time our server is MIA, but the Busboy, Kaden, comes by to refill drinks and ask if we need anything. After some more waiting, finally, our meals show up. The 'Flatbread' was actually a pizza. Round. Thin crust. Pizza. It looked okay and was packed with ingredients. Then there was the Spaghetti and Meatballs. It wasn't spaghetti... It was linguine. I asked if there was a mistake, they said 'no, this is how we do it here'. Okay. So why not call it what it is? Linguine and Meatballs? Why advertise it as Traditional Spaghetti? Fine. Whatever. You couldn't tell a rigatoni from a penne let alone a linguine from a spaghetti. On to the other issues with the dish. Portions are small. No where near an $18 plate of pasta with 3 smaller than golfball sized meatballs. The meatballs themselves were okay. Not great, but not bad. At least the weren't of the frozen variety. The sauce was horrible! Tasted like the metal can it came out of. And there wasn't much of it. Actually they lightly toss the pasta in a small amount of sauce and then plate it. No extra sauce for the meatballs or the pathetic off the shelf rolls. Which is probably a good thing considering the metallic taste. The server never came by to check to see how everything was. This was disappointing as it is a very small restaurant. However, the busboy did. Several times. The server never suggested desert. Nothing. She was awful. So why the two stars instead of only the one star that this place really deserves? Kaden. The kid was on it. Non stop. If the owners are paying attention and have any idea of his potential, they'll make him a server. I don't think I'll ever go back to Lemmo's. It just missed the mark on too many levels. read more

We live in Moorpark, but typically go out to dinner in Malibu, Studio City, Oak Park, Thousands Oaks... anywhere but Moorpark. So, I was a little skeptical when my husband suggested not to drive out of town, but to try a local restaurant. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the level of food quality and service at Lemmo's. The seared tuna appetizer was delicious, my filet was perfect and my husband truly enjoyed his jambalaya. Cozy restaurant with a nice feel to it. Not pretentious but cozy and not in a bad way. There is inside seating and a patio which is covered and screened off from the weather. There is a full bar with three nice HD tvs and four beers on tap (Blue Moon, Sam Adams and a couple others which escape me). The service is very good from my experience there, with the staff personable and ready to make sure you enjoy the experience. We ordered take out, which took a little longer than promised but was quite good. I placed the order over the phone, and I think it was the owners wife who checked over the order with me to make sure it was right (she did this without me having to ask her, I might add so a big plus). The chicken marsala was very good, with garlic added into the sauce that gave it an extra touch. The steak sandwich and meatball sandwiches were also very good, so if they are indicative of the overall quality of food here this is definitely worth your while. The sandwiches come with fries, and you can get sweet potato fries in place of regular fries. The only complaint I had was the fries were not crispy, but I'm allowing for the to go containers perhaps causing some condensation and keeping them a little moister. I'm willing to go back and try them out in the restaurant next time. Definitely a place I will go back to, and you should try it out. read more

We moved into the neighborhood about a year ago and we love Lemmo's! The food is always very very good. Their Chicken Piccata is to die for. When they're slammed, the service can really lag. And, while there is a strong sense of the warm family-owned vibe, the atmosphere is pretty lacking... kind of like fine dining in a Blockbuster. But, again... the food is very very good. read more

This place does a great job. Local Mom and Pop restaurant. The food takes longer than you'd expect, so don't go if you're in a hurry. We like a relaxed lunch, so it's perfect for us. The food is spectacular. The ahi salad is my wife's favorite and the wasabi dressing is dynamite! I like to try something different each time, but the steak sandwich is one of my go-to. I would love to support this local, family owned restaurant, but I can simply no longer. My family and I have frequented this establishment many times, and the food is usually pretty good. My problem.... This is the second time it's happened to me here. It is 9:00pm, and my family is looking for a yummy wholesome bite to eat. Yes, I admit it's late, but the food is good and it local. Plus, a dear friend is a server there. So we walk in on a Saturday evening, and the server informs us they had just turned off the grill, but that the bar is open. Huh?! It is a good hour before the closing time, I want food, maybe a drink but definitely food. If they are going to close early on occasion (more than once), than they need to add a "(varies)", next to the list hours. It is super irritating to plan to go there, only to get turned around. Again, the food is good, and the service is okay, but heck; they must be doing really well to turn away an easy $150 bill, and $50 tip. Not going back. read more

This place is known as a local favorite. The food isn't bad and the atmosphere is nice. Servers are always very attentive. They have a nice outdoor seating area with heaters as well. The only reason they don't get five stars is because I feel as if the price is a bit too much for the food. The food is pretty good but $18 for linguine and pesto only with a small salad??? Tonight was my 2nd visit to Lemmo's Grill; 1st time dining/eating. I was in the mood for red meat so I ordered the Skirt Steak Pasta after reading some helpful Yelp reviews. I was hungry...but if it wasn't the best thing I've ever tasted!! My husband & my 8-year old son both ordered the filet mignon. It was basically inhaled. My 12-year old ordered his standard Chicken Parmesan, but after trying our steaks, he wished he'd ordered the same as us. I was so happy with my meal! I know my family will be repeat customers of Lemmo's. Who knew that such great food was in our small town of Moorpark. p.s. After a few years of not living in Moorpark, I was surprised when I noticed that the sign on this restaurant had changed yet again to "Lemmo's". My mom took me here for their happy hour tacos one night. Hello, yum! So delish. Seriously, the fish tacos are exquisite, but make sure you get down there before 6pm because they're not offered after that. Yeah, those tacos with a glass of white wine. Perfect. They have a nice wine menu, and their lobster pasta is also pretty tasty. I do wish they had more veg-friendly dishes. Plus, the restaurant is owned by a local couple and they can typically be found hanging out at Lemmo's on week nights. They're super friendly people and will probably strike up a conversation with you. So good food, great people, and locally owned? What more could you ask for? read more

We don't know if we caught this place on the wrong night but my daughters salad $14 quality of a $5 salad my sons dish was 3 1/2 nothing WOW Our filet was very good a little fatty we were on the fence between here and Holdrens we wish we picked Holdrens last few visit were MUCH better the restaurant ran out of bread but didn't comp the garlic bread. My family loves this local restaurant! Always friendly, excellent service and food. My current favorite dish is the chicken picata, best I've ever had, anywhere! My grown sons love their sausage, pepper pasta and jambalaya over rice (extra spicy). They also have excellent salads; BBQ Chicken Salad and Balsamic Chicken Salad are the best. The steaks are awesome as well. Better than the best steak house we have been to! If you plan on going on Friday nights, please make reservations because they do get very busy, especially when MHS football is playing at home. Our most delightful server Tonya walked us through the menu, which I loved and appreciated getting a knowledgable preview to help me select an enjoyable meal. Her recommendation of the Chicken Picata was spot on and extremely enjoyable. I don't like capers so I added mushrooms and the dish was perfection! Hubby had the skirt steak salad and raved. Rather than a cold piece of meat done earlier in the day, it was freshly cooked, hot, tender and well seasoned. I'd recommend they gets a blender so their nice, tall, $5.25 happy hour margaritas can be ordered blended, the way I like mine. All in all, I loved the small quaint atmosphere, a friendly pop by from the owner, most assistive server and well prepared food. Will surely return. read more

Wow! What a wonderful surprise! I came to Moorpark to visit a good friend of mine and she suggested we go to Lemmo's Grill. She calls it her "Cheers Bar" as it is her neighborhood favorite. She loved the BBQ chicken salad. I was going to order it when the owner, Mike, suggested the skirt steak salad. Oh my gosh, it was the best meal I have had in a very long time. The steak was cooked perfectly and the meat melted in my mouth. The chimichurri-vinaigrette with blue cheese crumbles was delicious. This neighborhood gem made me want to move to Moorpark from Pasadena just so it can become my Cheers Bar! Great family restaurant. Excellent food. Warm and comfortable seating and ambience. Went to this establishment about a week ago. I was told that this place had amazing Italian food. When I arrived I wasn't impressed with the menu. I got two appetizers albacore sushi and cheesy bread with jalapeños. The sashimi was decent but they had no soy or panzo to "make" the dish. Just seared fish with vegetable decor and a weird ranch sauce. The bread was not anything I couldnt make myself by any means. Also the entree was just as sub par. Pasta with garlic and olive oil. It also confused me that if this is an Italian restaurant why they only have two different kinds of pasta noodles (fettuccine and ravioli) But I'm going my with 3 stars because the bartender was cool and seems like a nice local watering hole. Would definitely go back to strictly have a cocktail and watch a game. read more

My husband and I went to breakfast at Lemmo's Grill on Saturday, September 1st. They had a nice crowd at the restaurant. We ordered Bloody Mary's which were spicy and fabulous (thanks Jake)! I had the 3 egg omelette and my husband had the huevos rancheros. Both were excellent and I loved the potatoes that were served with my breakfast. We also ordered a side of fruit which was not just melons but grapes and pineapple. They just started serving breakfast so the menu is a bit limited, for now. We loved our breakfast and will definitely be going back! read more

My husband and I found this delightful gem today before we attended a fun raiser event. Mike the owner was very outgoing and friendly. He was so spot on when he recommended any dish with the skirt steak which is of the highest quality.
