Was at Lemmo's the other night with some friends. I had heard about this restaurant. Was out with some friends and stopped in for dinner. I got to try 3 of their dishes. The chicken piccata, the penne al vodka and the pasta aioli. All 3 were quite good. My one friend did not care so much for the aioli (sauteed garlic and oil pasta). She thought it was a bit too simple. I particularly liked the penne. I will likely come back. Looking forward to trying the bolognaise and their meatballs. The place is not particularly "atmosphere". There is more seating outside than inside, which is typical in SoCal. Service was good and friendly. I will likely come back again. read more

I love this little mom and pop steakhouse. This is our new spot for a steak, a cocktail or just about anything else. Absolutley everything we ordered was prepared to our liking, customized how we wanted. If you have not been here do yourself a favor and go. Mike is a great and very friendly owner. We ordered the Ahi tuna and chicken popcorn appetizers. They were so large and filling it nearly had us stuffed. The ranch is made in house and is absolutely delicious. Ask for the wasabi ranch too! Our new york steaks were prepared medium and I can easily say one of the tastiest steaks you can get around here! Puts anything in the area to shame. The molten lava cake dessert was also to die for! And the drinks were made strong like I like it!! We are going to be in here many more times. read more

Nice little neighborhood restaurant literally down the street (altho a few miles) from us. Other Yelpers said the owners are very friendly and nice.....quite true. It's always nice to chat it up with the owners.....a nice little touch. We also sat and watched the 3 TV's showing football and baseball while we ate our dinner. My husband got a pork chop with mixed veggies while I had their chicken parmesan. We also had caesar salads. Nice dressing, not my favorite, but still a nice flavor.... and more than enough of it. Chicken parm was good, but the marinara was on the sweet side. It's just not my preference, but it wasn't bad either. I don't eat pork chops, so I have no clue how they were. Great food and great service! The menu has a great selection to choose from, including yummy gluten free options! The server was knowledgeable about their gluten free options and offered suggestions to replace things I could not have. My kids are extremely picky eaters, and they loved their food. I've yet to have eaten a really good meal there. The tomato sauce is not of a great taste and therefore all their dishes with tomato sauce are fair at best. I have yet to taste a meal that they are truly superb at serving. read more

We've only recently started eating at Lemmo's and it's now become our weekend go-to. The rib-eye is pricey but so delicious and perfectly cooked every time. The fettuccine carbonara is to die for and bbq chicken salad is a must try. The popcorn chicken and popcorn shrimp are great for kids and they have the best fries. My husband loves the jambalaya although I personally think the sauce is a tad too acidic. Such a great place for family dining. They offer in and outdoor dining and takeout. read more

Lemmo's grill is a solid 4-4.5 star restaurant in my book. The food here is delicious, and the service/workers/owner are all top notch. Quantities are large and prices are appropriate, but slightly on the pricier side. If this place was just a little cheaper, I would probably be a regular. I highly recommend their skirt steak pasta. The steak comes juicy, tender, and delicious. The pasta and seasoning/sauce are delicious, as well. The restaurant does have a bar with TVs so you can catch the game. Parking is easy. So i happened to be charging my car right in front of the business, i decided to go in and with a very nasty attitude the guy at the bar which now I know it's probably the owner came up to me and my three-year-old son and with a very unhappy face came up to the door, i said for two he looked at his reservation book mad so I asked what was wrong he said well you see empty chairs but we got Reservations it was a cold night afternoon rainy day to be exact and he said I can put you outside which to me was very disrespectful i actually want to call it Racist to say the least I said no are you kidding me he made no effort at all to accommodate me so i said I'll take my business somewhere else and he said good luck so I don't recommend this place and I will never ever take my business there ever !!!! This place is AWESOME! Generous owner and waiters. I asked about their beer, there was one I never tried before, waiter didnt either. He offered me one for free. Also we got a free appetizer on the house, delicious calimari, bc they were having an "Oscars awards special". The sandwiches are pretty good, consistent... but the pasta is awesome!!! Nice and hot for a long while, good consistency with the noodles. Simple and lighter sauces just the way I like it. :) If you dont know what to order, just get something with skirt steak on it. Meh. We really wanted to like this place because Simi doesn't have a lot of good restaurants and it's close by. We sat down and waited. There simply weren't enough people working there. The busboy (who was on the ball) brought us bread. No one asked us if we wanted water, or was there long enough for us to ask. We waited another 7 or 8 minutes, then the owner himself came to see what we wanted to drink. We ordered a bottle of wine. The owner Mike also took our order. He's a very nice guy. But the food didn't arrive for over 20 minutes, and was lukewarm when it did arrive. The food tasted ok, but would have been so much better if it'd been hot! Talk about the most amazing food ever. From the filet mignonette to the spaghetti. Spaghetti sauce is the owners, mothers recipe. The fries are twice baked and for a French fry lover, I've never had better. Detail was taken with everything. My salad had homemade balsamic dressing that was light and not to vinegar tasting. Snobby waitresses with mediocre, almost inedible, food. I ordered the fish and chips. The waitress asked if I wanted "fries or chips". I politely informed her that in the U.K., chips ARE fries. She looked at me with a sneer and said, with attitude, "Oh, are you British?" SERIOUSLY???? The fish, when it showed up 45 minutes later, was cold and soggy. Went to visit my Mom in Thousand Oaks , California and we went here because I looked on Yelp for a good place to get Chicken Picatta. We both had a nice salad and we both had the Picatta. It was delicious. Served over angel hair pasta. The lemon sauce with capers was delicious. We had to get more bread to sop up the extra sauce. My Mom has a mixed drink and got a buzz and I had to drive us home. Lol we had a good time. I would eat here again. It's in Moorepark which is right next door to Thousand Oaks Not too far to get to. Hands-down the worst service I've ever had at a restaurant! I went here for lunch today and it was me and one other table and a couple people sitting at the bar, yet that took over 20 minutes for my burger and fries to come out! On top of that, the server who is probably related to the owner is a complete jerk! He never asked me if I wanted anything to drink, never asked how the meal is, both because he was too distracted chatting with the people at the bar... The cherry on top is that he tried to rip me off by charging me $17 for a burger that's listed as $13 on their menu... when I called him out on it, instead of being apologetic he got an attitude and simply dropped off my check at my table and walked away without saying anything...that asshole should enjoy his 10% $1.60 tip because even that's way more than he deserves! read more

Love this place for the food and locals. I feel like I am walking into Cheers each time. There is this guy "Scottie" that is always at the bar. They should rename him Norm. It's family owned and managed so you know they care about the quality of service delivered. Hands down favorite meal is the skirt steak salad which I customize by having them grill the peppers and onions. Never do you get an eye role for asking for any modifications or substitutions. Could not disagree more with Michelle L. We are frequent patrons of this amazing little place and never disappointed. The food is not designed for take out, and it certainly sounds like there was a misunderstanding on probably the busiest night of the week. I highly recommend interested parties dine in and select anything that sounds tasty from the menu. You will not be disappointed. If for some very unusual reason you are, Mike Lemmo would make sure you were taken care of. So ironically I made it to Lemmo's just three days after trying the pizza place for the first time. I have lived in Moorpark for almost 20 years but have never been here. We got seated and everything seemed fine. But then the wait....and then the wait....and the wait! We had to ask about the salads that come before the meal. Our waitress told us there was a backup with the kitchen . But it was obvious a table sat after us had already gotten their appetizers, which are certainly harder to make than a salad. At almost an hour after we ordered, we finally asked the owner. Mr. Mike Lemmo himself. And he said it was gonna be 2 more minutes. And it was but we had almost waited an hour by then. And we told Mr. Lemmo. His answer was "noted". Not "let me give you a 10% discount since you waited so long" or "let me get you a free dessert". Customer service was lacking! I know it's hard with Covid and everyone is short staffed. But I do feel it could have been handled better. I got the impression that this was a very local joint. The waitresses and Mike seemed to know everyone. We were certainly not that since this was our first time. I do think that had something to do with it. Although I'm local, I was a new patron. The super tough part was the food, once it got there, was actually really good. But the other stuff had dampened our mood. It wasn't worth it. read more
