Favorite breakfast place in town!! The food is awesome, my favorite is the Tex mex breakfast bowl. I get it every time I get the chance to go out for breakfast. The atmosphere is very light, homey begrudgingly a little loud. The place is very tiny so the more people there are, the louder it gets. Cute little diner with a Mexican spin. They have all the usual diner breakfast and lunch classics, but an extensive selection of Mexican food. I have been there twice, and both times left satisfied. First time out, had a panini. A little on the small side but good flavor and grilled to perfection. Second time had the Pernil Asado as a lunch special. It was only $8.95 and a massive portion. Pork was cooked perfectly and well seasoned and piled high over homemade tortilla chips. Only complaint is that if you get tortilla chips with your sandwich (you have a choice between those or fries), they are not homemade. Right out of a bag and not very appetizing. But the other ones are great. Service is always kind of "blah", yet friendly. Food outranks service anyway in my book. read more

This place is deceivingly spacious. They're menu is also big and we even got separate daily special me menu. I ended up getting scrambled eggs with salsa, avocados and fresh Mexican cheese over tortillas - YUMMY! The side included was beans (which I am not a fan of) but asked for substitute. They offered fries or fruit. I went with the fruit. It consistent if a generous side dish size of grapes, strawberries and cantaloupe. Unfortunately the cantaloupe was too overripe but the rest of the fruit was perfect. I'll definitely be back to try more. read more

Not sure how this place can have over two stars yet alone almost 5.....went for breakfast this morning and was severely disappointed. Sat down in an empty restaurant aside from one two top table and some people at the counter. We get our drinks and place our order. Nearly 25 minutes later our food arrives.... and does not look appetizing. being that we waited a long time as it is, without our waitress even coming over to let us know our food was gonna take long, i didn't want to send it back because at this point i was very hungry. I got an omelette with toast and home fries and my friend got a burger. Her lettuce was brown but other than that it's kind of hard to mess up a burger. My omelette on the other hand was mediocre at best, no flavor at all not even on the home fries. portions were stingy. Two tables after us ordered and got their food in less than half the time we waited !!! They charged extra for a little cup of honey mustard which tasted like it was from mcdonald's anyways. And then the best part! She kept everything on the same check which isn't the worst thing ever because we can always split it half and half ....except there's a minimum of 15$ on a card.....it's 2019 and that's just ridiculous. I wish i went two blocks over to Broad Street Diner which never disappoints taste and service wise...do not waste your time or money here. read more

Great food! The Mexican got chocolate is amazing but they run out so get there early.

We go to brunch at this place every so often with my in-laws. They have traditional American dishes and Mexican dishes, so it is a crowd pleaser. DW likes that she can get an authentic NY egg cream. I think their breakfast chilaquiles are excellent. They use a tangy salsa verde and crunchy chips to jazz up your eggs. The only reason for four stars and not five is that the service can be inconsistent. read more

Authentic Mexican American Fusion, I'd say. The Tinga is my go to. Pernil Asado is fantastic, too when it's on the menu. The Sunday Morning Breakfast is a must. I go for Lenora's Omelette or the famous Mexican Omelette - replace cheese with Queso Blanco. The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff is awesome. Worth the trip for Breakfast - but Dinner is the secret garden at this little cafe. read more

Yummy! Found this place on Yelp, therefore, thanks! Called day before our visit and spoke to Lenora who was super nice. Asked her about the area, informed her of our plan to visit a farm in the area for our daughters 2nd b-day and we were looking for a lunch spot. Lenora was sooooo nice and informative... she told us our visit would be during chilli fest, which Lenora's participated in. Upon arrival she remembered my call, offered us all a taste of chilli (even though we were not active participants of chilli fest) and later her staff suprised our daughter with cake and her staff sang happy birthday. I thought it was nice of her to make a fuss since we didn't ask for it. We lunched on the Cubano and Ruben, both YUMMY! And the chilli had an amazing kick... again, yum! read more

Found this place during summer of 2014. My husband and i were looking for fast place to eat for a late lunch and we were planning to walk to a pizzeria down the street, but noticed that this light up cafe. We never heard of it, but saw the menu from the window and decided to try it. We met the owner that night, she was very friendly. The staff and customer service is excellent here. Came me the morning after a wedding. Breakfast food was the only thing capable of curing the monumental hangover I was experiencing. Staff is extremely friendly, courteous, and fast. Establishment is very clean. Food came out quickly and it was excellent. I showed up with a table of eight loud, hungover new yorkers. There was french toast, waffles, pancakes, ranchero eggs and corn beef hash flying between all our plates. Can't say enough wonderful things about this place. This review is from an obnoxious couple that was sitting next to John K. Of course you had a great service because you were greeted right away. You did not know that I had to watch other people get greeted before me. I literally stood in front of the restaurant for at least 5 mins while my husband was parking the car and the employees were looking at me like there was something wrong with my face. Oh, and there were two other parties that got there after us were seated before us. We finally got seated, no menus! Another couple got seated right after us got their menus right away. We had to ask the table that just got done ordering for the menus. We choose to move to sit at the counter and the gentleman which appeared to be the floor manager finally came and take our order. He was the one that sat other people before us and also gave the menus to the other party that sat right after us. I really hate to make this a race issue. I am an Asian American and often get mistaken for Hispanic. I've never felt so uncomfortable in restaurant that is owned and run by minorities. This restaurant is located in a part of town that is heavily populated by Hispanics. However, I was the only customer there that was not Caucasian. The manager acted like he didn't want to have anything to do with us. He offered to pick our check after my husband said something to him (btw my husband is Caucasian). We declined his offer because it's a matter of principle. A free meal is not going to make it better. My advice to the proprietor to this place is, just because your restaurant employees are mainly minorities, that doesn't mean it's okay not to provide exceptional service to other minorities. My husband and I had a better service in a restaurant that located in Louisiana Bayou where the majority of the population are Caucasian. The owner sat with us and had a great meal with us! This place really disappointed us. We went there to support local business and hope that we could patron there more often. Instead, you made us feel like outcasts. Truth be told... my son and I were planning on breakfast at the Broad Street Diner on our way from Connecticut to Cape May this past weekend. We were initially disappointed to find the diner closed for vacation. But Yelp fortunately directed us to Lenora's and we were glad it did! First, if you haven't been here before, you WILL need the address. While in the center of town, they have no signage to tell you it's Lenora's. Actually, to make matters worse, they still have the large sign from one of the previous stores that was located there (I can't remember the name). I parked directly across the street and it still took me five minutes of walking up and down the street to find it! The staff was friendly and the food is cooked from scratch and with love. A good breakfast is necessary to start a lazy Sunday. They have perfected all the classic breakfast dishes (omelets, French toast, pancakes, etc.), but many of their dishes have Mexican flair. One of the first times I went here I got one of the specials and it was a mexican breakfast dish that completely rocked my world. I believe it was ranchero eggs with chorizo or something similar to it and it was absolutely delicious. I only ate one of the two they gave me and the second one reheated deliciously at home as well. The last time I went the chillaquilas and eggs were okay. Too runny for me especially after ordering the eggs over medium, but will still definitely come back! (Also it didn't come with fruit or homefries like the menu stated but I wasn't famished so I let it go.) My date got the breakfast burrito and that looked amazing, and yes I did try it and yes I will be back to eat one in its entirety by myself with no shame Coffee is great, service is ooookay. This is a good breakfast stop. I had a simple bacon, egg, home fries, toast and coffee breakfast special for $6.95. I added a small tomato juice for an additional charge of $1.95. Price is competitive with the area and the juice was much larger than the included juice at other places. The quality of the food was good. I would recommend it to others. read more

I was very impressed with my visit, and it was worth getting lost to find and try this place out. I went with my friend, and although we were in pretty close quarters, it was still spacious enough to have a deep and thoughtful conversation without having to talk louder than normal. The waitress was very friendly and was willing to help us decide and seemed to know which were the popular menu items (my friend always asks when he goes to any new place to eat). I had the ranchero eggs with chorizo, and I was very pleased. I even liked the beans on the side, even though I'm not a very big bean fan. Let me explain: Food - 5 stars. It was delicious - we got the Mexican Breakfast Burrito, pancakes, and French toast, and all were terrific. Service - 1 star. We went at around 10:00, and they weren't overly busy - there were several empty tables. Nevertheless, we stood in the entranceway for 5 minutes before we were even acknowledged. Then, we sat at the table with our menus closed for a long time before our order was taken. Throughout the meal, we asked for water and more coffee several times and didn't receive it until we had asked at least twice. Small and quaint, very cute. Seemed very clean and well maintained. Everything is made to order so it does not come out immediately. I got the Buffalo Chicken Salad, which tasted very good and is good for Grilled Chicken lovers. My son had the Kuban Panini and he dipped all of his French fries in my ranch dressing, how mean! The gf and I always debate over brunch. I think brunch is basically late breakfast, she swears its more special than that. Either way, we both agree this is a great breakfast/brunch spot. They mastered the classic breakfast dishes and added a touch of Mexican flair to it. The service here is on point. The servers were really nice and they always came around to refill my coffee mug. The decor is pleasant, and not overwhelming. The thing I dislike about "brunch" spots is that there is always a long wait. However, at Lenora's cafe, there was no wait at all, and I was pleasantly surprised considering what a gem this place is. The jury is still out here. I had really high hopes for it based on other reviews.I had a chicken burrito the first time I came which was good, but not great, and a piece of coconut cake that was delicious! Unfortunately the coffee wasn't worth drinking that day. The second time I came I had a chicken fajita and the chicken was really dry and the fajita shells were as stiff as hard taco shells after about 10 seconds of holding them. I also had a piece of chocolate cake that was again, delicious. I plan to try it one more time when I'm in a breakfast mood and see if that knocks my socks off and I can add some stars. Bumped into the place just out of the blue. I am glad I did. They have sandwiches, paninis, salads, soup. Special of the day comes with Soup or Dessert. I was surprised to see that most of the items on the list were less than $10. I wasn't expecting to get a big bowl of chicken salad with apple and strawberries in less than $10. Delicious breakfast at Lenora's Cafe this morning. I had Huevos a la Mexicana which was very good but had too many jalepenos in it for my taste. I removed the chilies and it was fine. My friend had Chilaquiles and Eggs which was delicious. She asked for it to be light on the avocado and they accommodated. Coffee was smooth, and they offered both cream and milk. The service was fast and attentive. Decor was simple. Given the great reviews and the single dollar sign I was pleasantly surprised that there was not a line on this Sunday morning. Had lunch here yesterday with my wife. She's been singing praises of the place for a little while but I'm usually skeptical. If anything she under sold it. My wife had the lunch special shrimp burrito bowl which was excellent. I know because my wife gave me a couple of her very large perfectly grilled shrimp that were delicious. I had the lunch special chicken enchiladas. There was a choice of beef as well, but I don't like to give places a chance to serve me bad beef. The special came with choice of soup or dessert. I had black bean soup, very tasty. My wife opted for dessert, which I ate later, I'll come back to that. My enchiladas were served with pinto beans and a fluffy rice I can't identify. Both were excellent. But the star of the show were the enchiladas. They weren't huge but the portion was plenty for 8.95. Three enchiladas smothered in cheese served piping hot the way food should be, but the chicken was tender and delicious served with green sauce, absolutely perfect. I've had enchiladas many places and some great ones too but these were the best I've ever had. I'm so glad I live nearby. Can't wait to try other menu items. Oh so the dessert was rice pudding. Nice and creamy, obviously homemade. The service was excellent too. read more
