LeVain cookies are some of the best cookies. They are so thick and soft. It is usually very busy , but the servers are friendly and do not rush you while ordering. The special cookie was a Coffee Toffee. The cookies are sweet and so chocolatey , it is impossible to eat at one time. The Coffee Toffee Cookie was a dark rich cookie with gooey toffee. Warming the cookies for a few minutes before eating makes them even more delicious . read more

i love levain! their cookies are so indulgent and it's definitely worth the wait! i waited like 15-20 mins in a long line until i ordered they also have seasonal items. i ordered the walnut cc, the cc, the gluten free, the black cookie with white chocolate (seasonal) a bombolini (it's like a powdered donut with a raspberry filling inside) my fav was the black and white chocolate chip cookie. me and my uncle and aunt tried them and all agreed that one was the best! i also really enjoyed the bombolini (i don't typically go for jelly filled but this one was different) i still think about it. i wish i had one right now :( go to levain! i am looking forward to my next experience here :) read more

OOF. IF YOU WANT A SUGAR OVERDOSE, THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU! I'm not a dairy drinker but after having the double chocolate cookie I was begging and praying for a sip. These cookies are serious business. They aren't cheap but they are so worth the price. If you're a cookie fanatic, then you know the quality is worth it. Pretty good spot! I got the a la mode with a chocolate chip cookie. It could've been that the cookie had been sitting for awhile because I went late, but the edges of the cookie were a little too crunchy. The middle was still soft and VERY rich. Can you say obsesseddddddd! Ok confession time! We just visited another Levain location (not an hour ago) and after two bites my hubby said, "Babe we need to visit another one!" We ordered the caramel coconut chocolate chip and when I say out of this worlddddd I meant it! I was ready to be disappointed when I went to Levain, purely based on how much I've seen it all over social media. I got a box of assorted cookies and dug in. The cookies are HUGE and THICC and freaking delicious. The chocolate chip is amazing but the real star of the show is the dark chocolate peanut butter chip. These are the biggest damn cookies I've ever seen, or eaten. There's often a short line inside the store almost any time, day or night ,because people love these treats. Levain Bakery is a classic and well-known bakery. Simply come here and get yourself a delicious cookie. These cookies are ridiculously large and soft. I am a huge chocolate fan, so I get the most chocolatey cookie they have. I ordered the dark chocolate chip cookie. It was gooey and delicious. Their prices are also on par with what they offer. As a cookie aficionado, I can't help but snag a chocolate chip walnut cookie ($5) from Levain anytime I'm near one of their bakeries. It was thick chocolate-y nutty goodness. I overheard the cashier recommend the cinnamon butter brioche ($5), so I made a mental note to try it the next morning. Sadly, this missed the mark for me. Lacking in both butter and cinnamon, this pastry was heavy just on the brioche part. I was simply eating white bread with sugar crystals on top. Definitely skip this at Levain. This UES location is spacious and well-lit. I went last night little before 8 pm, and today around 9:30 am--no wait both times. read more

I'm not much of a cookies nor sweets person, but had to see the hype around the popular Levain cookies. These cookies are chunky, crispy, yet also soft and chewy at the same time. I got the Oatmeal & Raisin and Caramel Coconut Chocolate Chip for $5.25 each. They had lots of the indicated ingredients that was well infused into the cookie. The cookie is even better when you heat it up a bit, so the caramel and chocolate gets all melty. Worth checking out and great souvenir to bring home! read more

LeVain Cookies are the best cookies in the Universe. I don't like icing on my cookie or other stuff. Their cookies are thick and creamy but not raw. The ingredients are same throughout. Nothing added on the top. They're just the way I like! I was greeted this morning by every employee. The counter worker and I had a great conversation about the latest cookie on sale. These cookies are truly delicious. I had some of these delicious cookies from the original location back in 2019, and they were truly worth the wait. This time I got some to bring back home with me. 30 seconds in the microwave, they taste fresh out the oven again. They are very soft and cake like, the chocolate chips are gooey and melted. It's just a really tasty cookie. It's sweet, but not overly sweet like Crumbl for example. This cookie warm, with a glass of milk is like a little slice of heaven. The store is very clean and the lady at the counter was very sweet and patient. I spent about 20 dollars for 4 cookies, but honestly wish I had gotten more. read more

YUM, this cookie is soooo good. I got their classic walnut and chocolate chip cookie, which was still warm when they handed the paper bag over to me. I do have to admit, I don't have the biggest sweet tooth. So after a few bites, the cookie did start becoming too sweet for me, and I had to save the rest of the following day. It was still good the following day, but I definitely think it would've paired nicely with some milk or tea. I came here at night, so the line was really short and they still had all the flavors! Distracted, blissfully unaware staff who can't even get the simplest order right. I came in early morning, on a Saturday, into a practically empty store. I ordered two cookies and--here's where the problem happened--a small black coffee with no sugar. The order-taker gave me my two cookies. I then stood by the beverage pick up area for my black coffee with no sugar. I stood there for a couple of minutes while my order-taker just kept on serving other customers. I was then literally the only person left in the store, just standing there waiting for my simple black, no-sugar coffee order. Neither my order taker, nor any one else in the store took notice of me just standing there. Things got so quiet that my order-taker--who by this time didn't even know I existed--was just chit chatting with the other staffers, about Amazon Prime or something. Finally I flagged her and asked her how long my coffee would take. She was then surprised, and said, "I'm so sorry." Then poured a cup of black, no-sugar coffee. That cup of BLACK, NO SUGAR COFFEE took a grand total to three seconds to prepare. I was seething on my way home. I should just asked for my money back. This location just lost my business and recommend others to not even give this place the time of day. read more

This location is conveniently located close to the 86th Street subway stations, so you can stop by when you're in the area. They have a counter for dining in, but space is limited, so best to take away. My favorite is the Two Chip Chocolate Chip Cookie, but the Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookie is the most popular. I was a bit of a Levain skeptic, but after trying their cookies for the first time, I was proven wrong! Levain is famous for their massive cookies. The texture is more cake-like with a hefty portion of chocolate chips. I ordered the limited edition coconut caramel chocolate chip cookie. It was delicious but very extravagant. I could not finish the whole cookie in one setting. I think a dash of flakey salt would balance the flavors and compliment the caramel. On the other hand, the coffee is just okay. I ordered an iced latte. Considering how sweet the cookies are, I was expecting something similar for the coffee. The latte was very plain and basic. Almost no sweetness to it at all, so I don't think they used any sweeteners or syrups. Overall, I still prefer a traditional cookie, but it was definitely a nice, new experience trying Levain's cookies! read more

Definitely worth the hype! Someone told me to go to chip city but I'm glad I came to Levain instead. Original Chocolate Chip Walnut was my favorite! Soft and gooey on the inside but crispy on the outside headed and so warm. Just perfection. I don't know how they do it. Good balance of chocolate chips and walnuts and basically just the perfect cookie! Two Chip Chocolate Chip was my second favorite. This had milk and dark chocolate chips inside the regular cookie and it was so beautiful. Had it 2 hours later at the Met and it was still warm! Also tried the Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip. What a terrible experience today! What seemed like a very rushed morning for the team resulted in horrible service for the customers. One man even asked the painfully slow and carefree cashier if there was someone else that could come to the front and help. A few minutes later a guy strolled in from the back with AirPods on and looked shocked that there was a long line. The Levain cookie has been on my foodie bucket list for years, and I finally got my hands on it. It was everything I could ever want in a chocolate chip cookie; not even worth trying to replicate, because I'll never be able to make one this good. I got the flagship cookie, the walnut/chocolate chip. To die for. Service was extremely quick; this place is a well oiled machine at this point. I ate half the cookie, stashed the rest in my purse and then polished it off at a bar after a few espresso martinis. Absolute bliss. read more

I ordered 4 different treats to go and they're packed in small box individually. Unfortunately, they didn't quite stay intact during my trek back to my hotel and were tumbled around in the boxes. Nonetheless, the taste and flavors held up well and even after a few days in the fridge. The yuzu daisy has this vivid pastel yellow-pink base and adorable gelatinous yellow gem atop a white flower. The yuzu gives a subtle infusion of tart that is balanced out by the light delicate skin texture of the rest. Sitting atop a thin round rice crispy. I loved the red mushroom one which is a creamy pink mousse inside the cap. The stalk is a thin porcelain-white chocolate light base also filled with a rich cream. Adjacent are two cute little tree nuts. The orange and mango have such vivid colors and are aesthetically pleasing too. Just like the previous ones, their delicate chocolate exterior houses a rich tarty mousse-y filling. I think the mushroom has a better balance and variety of flavors. Although I don't eat mousse treats often, I look forward to trying some of the other ones in the future, like the blueberry, banana and cloud.

Today I decided to make a special trip to go here to grab a few goodies. I forgot how small the place was and how low the ceilings were. That wasn't an issue though. The place was nice and cakes were stacked neatly. What was surprising to me is that they don't have any cookies laid in the front display. It's all placed in the back almost hidden. I was deeply disappointed with their cookie selection. It was deeply surprising that they don't sell the butter cookies that had jam in the middle and dipped with chocolate on one side with sprinkles. I did ask the clerk and even showed him a pic of what I was looking for and he said they never sold them. They only had the linzer cookies and they didn't look so good. They also did not have the lobster tail. They did have the sfogliatelle which they also called a lobster tail. I thought they were not the same? Some bakeries sell both and they are definitely not the same. I did end up buying one of their sfogliatelle with cream and some rugelachs. The sfogliatelle was good but the rugelachs tasted slightly underbaked. It did taste fresh though unlike many I've had in other bakeries. However, for $28 per pound, I wouldn't get it again. For those not having lobster tail and not having the Italian cookies, I will have to give Veniero's a low rating. I never thought an Italian bakery would not carry staples. Very disappointed. I need to find another Italian bakery now.
