I have taken my cleaning to them for over 20 years. It was a husband and wife who ran the Cleaners, and tragically the wife was hit by a car and killed. They were wonderful and did all my alterations. The place has never been the same. I hardly ever see the husband and I pretty much stopped going there. However, I was going in for a back procedure and brought a coat in. I told them I wouldn't be coming back for a bit and paid them $38 IN CASH before I left. I was rushing and did not get a receipt. How would I know how much it was if I hadn't paid? When I went to pick up my coat a month later, the clerk, who was rude to begin with, told me I owed $38 , which I reminded her was paid. She asked me for a receipt and i told her I never received one. She argued with me, refused to give me my coat and said she would ask the owner to call me. She didn't. I went to get my coat today and she was rude again and would not give me my coat. When I reminded her I wasn't given a receipt and perhaps she took the money, she laughed in my face. Things got heated and we both exchanged obscenities (me only once, her several times). I left without my coat and I will never go back. I also plan to call the Better Business Bureau on them. I hate to do that to the man who owns the cleaners, but this woman is an embarrassment to this establishment and really should be let go. read more

I am proud to call this my personal dry cleaner every time I comein I greeted by Aida and my clothes are all ways ready on time. My clothes are cleaned very professionally which is not a small task. I am very hard on clothes and it great to come in and see my clothes look like new again. Aida on many occasions has fix missing buttons. I am currently on hold with this dry cleaner 5:45pm. I asked a friend to drop off our clothes to a wash and fold while he was at another job site today. When he came back from the site I was asked where our clothes where. He stated that he dropped them not at a wash and fold but at a dry cleaners. To my astonishment I then asked what dry cleaners he went to where he said he didn't know. Than he remembered that he took a picture of the place and pin mapped it Behold it was LIBERTY CLEANERS the most underrated negatively commented cleaners in all of yelp. And to say that weed shouldn't be legal. So I am still on hold 6:16pm and the person on the other line is probably making jerk of signs to his friends and pissing on my clothes. So Ill explain how the mind numbing conversation about why I am on hold. When I called said cleaner the clerk sounds like a young man stated " That they do not have that ticket number" I asked are you using a carbon book for slips ? He responded " yes" So your telling me you don't have a identical book with numbers 65754 in it today? He said "no I do not have a record of your clothes here" So than I stated and tried to explain that I sent my obviously dim witted friend to a wash and fold and he somehow fell into your dry cleaners and now the person on the phone at said dry cleaners does not have a record of my clothes there so you can see how this makes me fell very uneasy that all of my clothes are now missing. We have been coming to Liberty Cleaners for over about 7.5 years now, and they are amazing! Aida is wonderful and always has our clothes done beautifully. She knows us by name, and is warm, friendly as well as professional. She and her staff always work with us no matter what we bring in, be it regular shirts or fancy, embroidered clothes. Everything is returned to us when they say it will be ready, in excellent condition. And when we have a rush request, they always accommodate us without adding on premium charges. The best thing about their work is that our clothes smell CLEAN...not full of chemicals or anything weird. They use eco-friendly, reuable bags and you can always bring back the wire hangers to be used, too. Excellent! We also like to use them for alterations, which are done superbly and inexpensively. Picked up a suit and two shirts... Noticed some stains down the middle. I went back and the person said there is no way they could have done it, it's my stain and I should come back next time there is a stain. He said I should get it laundered NOT washed...the funny thing is my wife asked them to be laundered. He was going to charge me $3.50 when he only charged my wife $1.50. He told me they do not wear the shirts so it the stains would not be there at all...it's my fault and next time I should let them know there is a stain. Anyone know of a good place in Culver City to get items laundered?? So they can't keep their prices straight and don't want take care of their customers...so don't do there. read more

I took my daughter to get a brand new, never-worn dress for a hem. The fabric is a fragile satin. We paid $55 to remove approximately 2 inches from the hem. Upon pick up the dress was hung in plastic. I asked that my daughter try it on to be certain the hem was correct. At inspection in the shop, I found several oily stains all near the hemline. When I remarked that the dress was brought in without stains, the lady behind the counter shrugged. THE DRESS HAD NO STAIN WHEN WE BROUGHT IT IN. This guy shortened the sleeves of my designer cardigan sweater and completely ruined it. The sleeves became completely loosened at the end and lost their tapered shape. I went in to explain that when you shorten the sleeves, the overall design of the sweater should be maintain. He basically said if I wanted to do that I would be charged another 25 dollars and that it was basically on me for not understanding that the design wouldn't be maintained. Overall, the owner was pretty rude and had no intention of solving the issue, basically looking to argue with me. Needless to say, I will never be going back to this establishment. I do not recommend this place. Go find another cleaner / alteration. I had a horrible experience here. I asked them to fix my clothes, and they didn't fix it right, and it came apart when I picked it up. I asked them to repair it again, and it wasn't fixed again. It came apart right after I got home. My wife and I have been going to this cleaners for several years. We have always found the service and the quality of their work to be very good. When the owner/manager Aziz was on vacation a few years ago, the substitute worker was unfriendly. I, and apparently several other customers, reported him to Aziz and he was let go. I've seen Aziz deal with unpleasant customers and he maintains a professional demeanor. The place feels like a mom and pop shop. My wife loves being a regular, parks in the back and comes in the back door, Aziz carries her clothes to her car, and we get a customer discount. The first time I went to Liberty Dry Cleaners & Laundry I was given a 25% off Lifetime Discount Card and treated with superb customer service. On about my third visit to Liberty I had some clothes that were scheduled for pick-up on a Friday and I was not able to make it to the cleaners during the day; but I needed the clothes for Saturday morning. I called the cleaners about 30 minutes after they closed and someone answered, I explained my need to have the clothes Saturday morning and they actually waited an additional 30 minutes for me to arrive and pick-up my clothes. I never write Yelp reviews, but I felt compelled to do so because of their outstanding and exceptional service and cleaning abilities. I WILL NEVER GO BACK AGAIN. I asked the man to fix my clothes. When I picked it up, it was not fixed, and was not done correctly. Instead of apologizing to me, he had the guts to argue with me not admitting his fault. I gave him another chance to fix it since it was already prepaid. A few days later, I changed my mind and went back to the store. I wanted to get a refund instead. But he already had fixed it, or at least it looked like it. When I wore it for the second time since the repair, it broke again. He probably just did a quick fix to make it look like it was done. Before this incident, I went in there to ask the same guy for the price of a certain cleaning service. He said that he needs to see the item first. Since I didn't have it with me, I asked him for the price range. A week later, I went back with the item, and pretended like I've never been there, and asked him for the price of the same service. He totally gave me a much higher number. So, I called him on that. Then he stuttered and honored the price he told me earlier. read more

The alterations have always been exceptional--because I am very petite, clothes I purchase on-line are sometimes too big. The alternations person has practically redesigned my clothes--and without a flaw. The prices are competitive and there is ample parking. This place is a total rip off. They have a sign on the window saying that alterations, such as hems, will be done for 5 dollars and once you are in they charge you four items the amount. They also give you a "discount" card that has not applied to my service..I gave it a try. never again I will pay 20 dollars each for a mediocre simple hem done.
