I've been meaning to leave a review for a while. I had my birthday brunch here in April. The staff was so friendly and nice. They were very accommodating as I had a large group of almost 15 people. Very chill environment, we got there for dinner and they already had the heaters on. So it was very cozy and comfortable, live music. It's all on patio so you can bring your fur baby like we did. The lil simmzys burger is a double! But it was delicious, and the pain killer (drink) was strong so that was a bonus! I would definitely consider going back if we ever come through again. read more

Fast Casual Simmzys Spinoff at the Point Not like I search out opening businesses to snag the all of the "Firsts," but by chance we were out in "Beach Cities" area and wanted somewhere to eat that we could also nurse a baby, so why not at the Point. We were on our way to another place and noticed that months after the opening of the Point the long awaited venture from the people that brought you Simmzys have come up with a fast casual concept with a bar that has craft on tap and in cans, wines, and "crafted" cocktails. Getting back to the "craft" portion, the menu features logos from a local farm and dairy which is promoting "farm to table" ingredients. "Farm to table is not a new thing, I remember living in in Santa Monica decades ago and seeing all of the local chefs shopping at the SMS farmer's market before it opened. When you walk up the Craft Shack, which is housed in an "out building" in the middle of the Point, to one side is a large patio, and the other the order counter with a spartan menu board. That day they had a burger, a sandwich, fish tacos (with fish from a sea to table fisherman), poke fish tacos, salads, and sweet potato fries and a craft beer menu that featured all of the local breweries we have been accustomed to. They take you order and hand you a number, then you get a table, and they bring you your food. Easy. We ordered the poke tacos, sweet potato fries and the burger which was like a $9 version of a double/double (technically the home of the double/double is a farm to table place as well). The sweet potato fries were hand cut and not the frozen reconstituted variety, the burger had two very thin patties, American cheese (not smiling of course), long cut pickles, tomato, and lettuce, the bun was shiny and I can't remember what it is called, but it was worth the $9. The poke tacos were of the shoyu marinaded variety and are a hit. Next time I will get the poke tacos as an appetizer. As far as cocktails, I am not a big cocktail fan, so I went with a tried and true Little Bo Pils, as I was day drinking and did not want to crash and burn before sundown. Even though this is a fast casual counter service concept, everyone working there was really nice and professional. I felt very comfortable and enjoyed my dining experience at the Craft Shack and I would say that the Simmzy's group really hit this one out of the Point! read more

4 to 5 stars for the customer service, the food, the beer and the fact that it's at the Point El Segundo. The only reason I minused two stars was for three reasons - it's all outdoors, no walls, no indoors, inside; just all outside - maybe that'll change when winter/rains come?? I don't know how that works when it's raining...cold I get, they have the heaters, but rain? Maybe canopies? Second complaint, there's no bathrooms. So you have to walk a little ways to the facility's restrooms. That was a huge turn off, since your drinking and you know your going have to pee soon and fast. Last, it was distracting...meaning everything around you - like the little playgrounds surrounding it for the kiddies - great for the parents drinking and can walk away w/their children and keep an eye on them....people walking through there, I just felt like there wasn't any options for a couple who just wanted to eat alone and feel secluded....like in a restaurant with separate booths, you get a little privacy...you have none there. This place is great! Nice outdoor snack and drink stand surrounded by greenery and the beautiful Point of El Segundo. In a way reminds me of sitting at the Shake Shack at Madison Square Park. I'm all for enjoying snacks and adult beverages outside, especially in these gorgeous So Cal summer evenings, really can't think of anything better. Sitting is basically first come, first serve, and the patio area can be pretty crowded so if you're in a big group strategize, and grab some seats then go order. I like how fair the prices are here. Cocktails like the moscow mule are only $8, and super delicious! Beer and wine range from $8-$10. They serve food from Simmzy's, which I love. I've been to the Simmzy's in Venice and was impressed. Prices are fair too for the food. They have some taco and burger and side options. Small menu, but everything we tried was delicious. The burger was a very nice size and tasted great. The adult meals are tasty - the fish tacos, the burger, the salads... all of it is delicious...I also love the atmosphere and the seating. It's definitely fitting on the theme they are trying to create and in the middle of the mall. Awesomeness! I think the kids meals could use some work though... the chicken is a bit dry, and the quesadilla needs more cheese or something.. it's like a thin pancake. this place was mostly great. i had been to The Point right around when it first opened because I worked close by, and I totally didnt remember seeing this place. I had quit that job, and only recently returned to El Segundo for my new job, so once I saw it was close, I had to come back to try this place out. The outdoor dining is a cute idea, but in the dead middle of summer and the beautiful flowers around the lifted platform are the wasps and yellow jackets. My friend and I spent most of our lunch afraid of getting stung. I can imagine in the spring or fall it would be better due to less bugs and not as hot weather, despite the numerous umbrellas they had (we didnt get much shade). Also, a huge gust of wind came by and almost knocked our entire lunch off the table. The food was solid. I ordered the kid's chicken tenders with veggie sticks, and a fries (blue cheese haystack) to share. My friend ordered the apple walnut salad and a glass of rosé. She wasnt too sure when they brought out that it was going to be enough. My total came out to about 14 for the two (6 for the chicken tenders and 7.5 for the fries) and hers was closer to 24 (12.75 for the salad and 9.5 for the rose), which is around what were used to paying for lunch. overall 4 stars. i would come back again if i wasnt so afraid of getting stung. those tacos sounded great! read more

Great ambiance! Burgers were really yummy. And the service was quick. We were a party of 11 and got all our food fast and at the same time.

Visited the newly open Craft Shack today. Craft Shack is part of the Simmzy's chain so expectations were pretty high and thankfully it met it! This is a 4 to 4.5 start review. Craft Shack has a similar setup as the other Simmzy's places including a nice selection of draft beers and an al fresco dining area. I had the craft burger and my wife had the fish tacos. A nice touch is that you can get a mix of fries (regular and sweet potato) with two sauces. The burger was really good and flavorable - didn't even need any other condiment (catsup, et al). Much better than any of the Hopdaddy burgers I've had so this will be stop #1 at The Point if I'm in a burger mood. I got to taste the fish tacos and that was also a plus - slightly spicy but really good flavors. Would have either dish again easily. Very good add to The Point restaurant scene. How have I never reviewed Lil' Simmzy's?! Awesome al fresco spot at The Point. Burgers are excellent. Wings are more sweet than spicy, but worth a try. Fries are skinny and great. Great beer and wine menu. It can get crowded and they often have an acoustic guitar thing going on. Not my thing and I would rather they have an extra table, but no disrespect to the performers... I'm just a grumpy old man. Great place for kids with a little grassy area for them to run around after eating. A couple of great dessert spots next door too. Gotta try it! read more

There was so many diff place to try but we decided to try craft shack...I tried la rosa, the Moscow Mule, Mayberry IPA beer, the cheeseburger, grilled chicken burger, sweet potatoes fries and ordered the chicken tenders for my little one.. I couldn't quite enjoy as my son was dragging me all over the place..too many things going on around him... But over all it was such a great area to chill n eat on a Friday night!! We finally had lunch here today! Every time we've walked by in the past, Lil' Simmzy's has been standing room only, but this time there was an open table under the giant umbrella so we grabbed it. The servers were very friendly and advised us to have someone in our party hold the table so we could order lunch at the counter. The blackened rock fish tacos were unbelievably delicious. Something in either the seasoning or the sauce had a little kick of spice in it, which really made the dish. We also ordered the rock shrimp salad with citrus, avocado, red onions and pepitas. Another solid dish. The kids were very happy with their chicken tenders and fries so we were able to sit and enjoy a sunny afternoon listening to the live guitarist. The craft burger was so good. Couldn't finish it, but we also had the nacho fries and the poke tacos. Sarah was our waitress and was the sweetest and most attentive server ever. Came by our table frequently and checked on us a lot. She was wonderful. I just have one suggestion: the poke tacos would be so much more delicious if the tortillas were cooked.they tasted raw and fresh out of the bag. We went here on Mother's Day, and the service was great. You order at the register's and they give you a number that you take to any of the seating options available on the patio, or just below it. The service is quick, and all of the staff is friendly and accommodating. Really great french fries and drink options, and we love regular Simmzy's, so it was a no brainer for us. I'm making my rounds to the different food venues in here, and what helps this stand out is its central location in the courtyard, with its outdoor seating and striped table umbrellas. You order at the register and then grab a seat at one of the tables. Service is quick and the staff is friendly. Here's what we ordered: Hamburger - stacked high with two patties, cheese, pickles, lettuce and tomato. It was like a fancier version of a double, double. It doesn't come with a side, but you can order fries or other accompaniments if it doesn't fill you up. It was pretty tasty, and their ketchup has a nice tang to it (it ain't no standard Heinz ketchup). The meat was cooked perfectly and wasn't dry or too well done. Shrimp Salad - my wife ordered this and seemed pretty pleased that it had a lot of flavor, and wasn't overly dressed and unhealthy. They've got a pretty good beer and alcohol selection, and the prices are on par with most mixed drinks. This is a spot to hang out at. read more

This place has got a decent but limited menu. It's primary draw is the fact that it offers relaxed outdoor seating within the kid friendly shopping plaza called The Point. If you have a couple toddlers and are looking to get out Friday night after work, this is the place to come. You can sit out, order a couple ahi tuna tacos and a glass of wine and let your kids run around and play on the grass while keeping an eye on them. Lil Simmzy's also has local musicians playing the guitar and crooning classic numbers while you dine here. -So far not been a big fan of their wine options but then they are seasonal options. -Their ahi tuna tacos are delish! -chicken sandwich is meh. Best burgers in South Bay!! We had take out and ordered online with YELP app which was Grubhub. The app said order was going to take 30-45 mins. I tried to cancel order on phone with Grubhub but operator told me order was ready. What?? That was 2 mins ago. Oh well, we flew out door and order was ready-waiting. By the time we got back home to eat burger was lukewarm and fries were cold. Still satisfying but not the same as eating there. I'm concerned with social distancing and customers there seem to disregard policy and it was crowded because it was Friday around 7:00pm. We will definitely but on our own dime. I don't write reviews to be given anything free, but the gesture of the management from this establishment is very appreciated . We were not impressed with our meal here. The stars are for the great outdoor eating area they have. We ordered 2 chicken sandwiches, fries , and a chicken salad total was over 40.$ the price is sooo not worth what we received. The bun on the chicken sandwich was stale and fell apart before we finished our sandwich. The chicken lacked flavor and for the price we expected a little more. This was almost a one star review, but luckily our server pulled through in the end. Came here last night around 7ish? We got two burgers, the nacho fries, and the grilled corn, along with two beers. You pay up front and find a table. Thankfully they had heatlamps bc I would've been freezing. The beers came quickly (even before we found our table) and food a little after. Still didn't receive any corn or news on it. Finally my bf brought the receipt up to the girl in front and she stated they were "out of corn" and we could pick something else. TF? It's not the two measly dollars I paid for the corn, it's the fact that if they were out of corn, then they shouldn't have charged me for it up front. And if they didn't know when they were charging me, then shouldn't it have been brought to our attention? THEN! The couple who got seated about 15 mins after us GOT THEIR CORN. Wtf?!!! I was pretty annoyed. It's the principle of the matter! Finally we talk to the guy and he sincerely seemed like he just forgot-- went to the window and--MAGIC-- looks like they DID have more corn. So the girl was either misinformed or too lazy to check. The couple next to us also told us she was the same one who gave them the wrong beer order.. hm. Great burgers and beer. Just like the "bigger" restaurant on MB Blvd. Lil Simmzy's has excellent burgers and an excellent albeit limited selection of rotating beers on tap. I've usually order the Simmzy burger which is great. The chicken wings however, meh..... Live music in the evenings on weekends is nice too. Sometimes it's a little chilly in the evenings, so be sure to bring a jacket if you're prone to getting cold. They do have outdoor heaters if you are lucky enough to snag one. read more

My boyfriend likes to come here alot for a beer or two. Im not much of a beer drinker, but they do have a good selection of cider and cocktails which I appreciate. The menu is a bit too much for me. $5 for one taco? Not to mention the fact that the lime was super dry and the tortilla ended up falling apart on my boyfriend. I ordered something called a quesadilla foldover. The most confusing thing I have ever ordered. Lettuce on top of cheese, on top of an open tortilla. Is it a salad? A tostada? A quesadilla? Came here last night for happy hour because Yelp said it was good for happy hour, but they didn't actually have a happy hour menu. The place is relatively new (~4 months) and it seems like they're still testing out a lot of things. SERVICE The service was great. The waitress let us try as many beers until we found one that we liked. I got the 3 Weavers - it was SO GOOD (if you like fruity light beers that are basically like juice) - tastes like a Mimosa but in beer form. We were actually so engaged in conversation we didn't realize they had packed everything up and closed out all the registers. We clearly stayed past closing but they didn't even kick us out! FOOD Got the Nacho Fries - they were meh in my opinion. I like the concept and there sure was a lot of them but the flavor just isn't quit there yet. Also got Shrimp, Chicken, and Carne Asada tacos. I liked the Shrimp one best, Chicken was disappointing and I didn't have any of the Carne so I can't say. AMBIANCE Nice outdoor seating. There are heat lamps in case you get cold easily, like I do. They do have their own music playing above the music that is already playing in the plaza itself but it wasn't too loud of overpowering, I was still able to hear my friends without having to shout. It also wasn't too packed but I came on a Thursday night, not sure how crowded it gets on a weekend. TOKENS They offer a token system $8 for a token and you can skip the line to get your next beer. If you don't end up getting another beer you can save the token and bring it back next time as it never expires. Pretty interesting concept, I can see it being beneficial when it's really packed. We got 1 round of drinks and 1 round of tokens and the waitress came by to exchange our tokens for our second round so we didn't have to go to the counter/wait in line anyway. read more

Shout out to a brilliant business move. @simmzys opened up a quick service spot at The Point #ElSegundo named Craftshack. We went to go try it about 6 months ago. We are in the biz and love going to try all the new spots. Plus we love Simmzys. But no one else would of ever known it was affiliated with Simmzys. They made a savvy change and renamed it before even a year of operations. They renamed it Lil' Simmzys. That's how you build a brand and keep your name in people's minds. Craftshack was sure to fail or be a decent break even marketing local. But why not market with your parents name. Awesome patio which is hard to find in the South Bay. We went on a Saturday evening for happy hour when there was live music. Helpful staff. We got drinks - lots of local beers and sangria choices as well as cocktails. For food we just got chicken fingers but we've had the burger before at big simmzys and it's great. Parking can be a challenge at the point but you'll eventually find a spot. Nice awesome outside option. No seating indoor. read more

We went here during the Wednesday night concert series at the Point and I was amazed at their process. I ordered my food at 6:30 and it was ready for take out EXACTLY 20 minutes after which is great for any restaurant, let alone one with a line out the door. While I was waiting for my order, I saw the servers checking tabs for accuracy and taking turns at the stations. I even told an employee they were like a well oiled machine. The food is slightly overpriced but I was willing to forgive because of ease of ordering. read more
