Popped in real quick for a bite with my friend. I was pleased to see that they had a vegan pizza that I could eat. It had an assortment of veggies and the like, the usual toppings you see on a vegetarian pizza. Obviously I had no cheese but I wish they used some sort of marinara sauce that didn't have cheese in it. It was quite bland but it satisfied my hunger so I can't complain. The space is ....cozy and charming, but that wall size menu was daunting! After pondering for a bit, joe and I ordered 2 slices each which came out to almost $20. I got the bbq chicken pizza slice and the other chicken pizza slice. The bbq chicken pizza was pretty good but the other chicken pizza was dry and forgettable (clearly, as I have already forgotten the name of it). Disclaimer: I am not a salad girl. I don't order salads, I don't eat salad at home, although I will certainly take add some to my plate at a luncheon or buffet to give off a false pretense of being health-conscious. My sister, who's got much better eating habits than me, recently visited LA and we shared two slices at this Venice location: Popeye's pizza for me and salad pizza for her . Let me tell you this- they were huge!!! We definitely got our money's worth (Only $5.50/slice!!). I'm usually not a fan of thin-crust but it was wonderfully chewy yet crispy. The Popeyes pizza was, of course, delicious. Chicken, spinach, mushroom, pesto.. what else could you ask for? I doused my bites in red peppers, so maybe that. However, I was shocked at how amazing the salad pizza was. It was cheesy and creamy from the avocado, and light and refreshing from the salad. It was the perfect mixture! Eating regular pizza usually leads to some self-loathing for the grease and oily fingers afterwards, but this was soo filling and balanced. Some negatives are the tight space, the messy countertops, and near-impossible street parking in Venice. But fight your way through LA traffic and it will certainly be worth your while. read more

So I asked when a veggie pizza would be ready since I was willing to wait and she offered to give me a different slice when that's not what I wanted. Amazing Gluten-free pizza! I had a slice of the Athen's Pizza and Pepperoni Pizza. I highly recommend anyone who has a gluten allergy/sensitivity! Gluten-free pizza is hard to get it right because EVERY time you try it, you have a small hope that it will taste like a regular pizza. This one comes close!
