Wow, it's been nearly 4 years since my last review. Got my nails done for a photoshoot: quality, care, attentiveness and service were all on point! The salon is extremely clean and decorated nicely. For a gel manicure, it was $30 w/o tip. This place is on the pricy side now, but I don't regret the price for the phenomenal service I received here. It really saddens me to write this review, because in the past I've had nothing but positive experiences at Lilly nail spa. I came in today for a gel manicure and a pedicure. I asked for green Cat-eye Nails. My band is shooting a music video tomorrow, and I really wanted green Nails for the video. I've had green cat eye nails done at a different salon before and they looked great. The sample design was a deep emerald green. However when Polly started putting polish on my nails I immediately said " that's pretty but I don't think that's the green color I asked for" because it looked gold. At this point if I had been in her shoes, I would have gone back to the box of Cat eye polishes and made sure the color wasn't mislabeled. I should have insisted that Polly do that but I didn't. My fault. She insisted it was green...See the picture (it wasn't green) and she continued painting my nails and curing them. If she had just taken the time to go check the polishes it would have been an easy fix to wipe the one nail off before putting it under the light- but I could tell she just wanted to get through this job without the hassle so she just continued on. Then on top of that the top coat is bumpy and not smooth. I'm all for paying slightly more for a manicure (like this place charges) if it's a high quality manicure but this one was the wrong color and not smooth. I'm very disappointed with the quality of manicure for the high price I paid. They told me at the end I could come back for a manicure free of charge to fix it, which was nice but I don't want that if it's going to be the wrong color and not smooth. I hope my nails don't look too horrible for the video tomorrow. Very very sad. read more

My service with Jessica was good! She is very sweet and friendly and did a good job with my gel fill. This was my 1st time doing a gel fill here as my regular manicurist is unavailable for a month or so. While the experience was nice the cost was ridiculous! I pay $40 for a gel fill with my reg lady and at Lilys I was charged $75+tip!!!! Not sure if I will be using them again read more

OH MY GOSH/GOD!!!!! Just got off my 5 hr flight stopped in wanting to get a mani pedi and found out they also have waxing services. Didn't get the name of the lady who did my pedi, but Anny who did my mani was AWESOME. Vivian did my waxing. They were so thorough. Paid attention to every detail, made sure there wasn't a single hair left behind. I've never written a review for a snail spa, but DAMN, Lilly's is incredible. They rock! read more

I'm not from the area so when I was visiting a friend in Hermosa Beach I decided to try out a nail salon in the area. I was not disappointed! I went in with the intention of getting gel, but my nail artist Jessica recommended dip. I was NOT disappointed! The dip is so much stronger and just looks better, in my opinion. I wanted to go for a very light pink, so Jessica recommended a color that I loved. You'll see from the photo it is so subtle and it's exactly what I was going for! I'm getting married this weekend and I wanted it to be very light. Jessica was amazing, super friendly and honestly this is the best manicure I've gotten in a very long time. This is my go-to place and i usually have a good experience from beginning to end. Today however I had issues with LIEN (liet, not too sure of her name, but she was one of the younger manicurists). I had shown her photos of exactly what I wanted and when i asked for the design to be darker, she proceeded to make it larger. I said something and she immediately began yelling "why didn't you tell me" and was overall VERY RUDE. Like I understand it's frustrating when there's miscommunication but the fact that she didn't even try to understand or even listen to me was what rubbed me the wrong way. Avoid her!!!!! I was not a walk-in, I phoned in several hours in advance for three appointments. One little girls manicure and pedicure to celebrate her kindergarten graduation. One gel manicure for myself and one pedicure for my husband. All of us received subpar service. They didn't even soak my granddaughters Feet or hands. They never even filled up the hello kitty child's chair tub. Instead of soaking or foiling my gel nails they filed them off. My husband was done in 15 minutes and so was my granddaughter. All they did was paint her nails and her toes. For that I paid $25 such a rip off. They barely soaked my hands and only bc I asked them to and barely cut my cuticles. My granddaughter and my husband were done so fast that they were able to go to Vons and shop for a few items and go across the street to Pill Box Drugs and pick up my prescription. By that time I was done. I will never go back to this place again. I was looking for a new nail place since I moved into the area. If they didn't have time for us they should not have allowed us to schedule. I felt like we were rushed from the very beginning. After the rushed a 15 minute mani pedi for my Granddaughter, another child was put in the kids chair the second she was up but they DID fill up the tub for that child. It made me wondered if it was because that child was the same ethnicity as all those working there and we were not. Horrible customer service and not the best job I've ever had on my nails. I've been here a few times to get nails repaired and Vivian is amazing. However right now I'm at the salon and Polly is doing my nails and she is TERRIBLE. She is rushing so much that she CUT me. My cuticle is bleeding and my finger is in so much pain. You would think that after cutting me she would slow down but she's just going as if nothing happened. I moved at the Riviera over 1 1/2 year ago. I found Lilly Nail Spa while shopping at Von's. I love the customer service, the place is clean, the ladies are polite and aim to please. The owner is very accommodating and friendly. I love the new look and the spa chairs. Mani/pedi at the same time is very relaxing. Many colors to choose from including gel colors. Massage by Linda is awesome! She can give a firm/deep tissue massage. Mimi does great job with threading my eyebrows and sometimes my whole face. I also like the visit card they give you and stamp for each visit to get free manicure. I even brought my sister here once for mani/pedi, and she loved it. I'll definitely recommend this place to my friends and neighbors. 5 STARS all the way. I may even try their facials one of this day. read more

I had an appointment here October 23 @1pm for a gel manicure. I had a very special occasion to go to that night so I wanted to treat myself to a long needed manicure. They gave me the gel colors to pick from...I went with an intention of getting a dark red but my manicurist kept trying to steer me away from any red colors I wanted. Or kept telling me she'd put black under it to make it darker. Well I don't like black nail polish, so I said I didn't want to do that either. Finally I choose a color that to me wasn't really considered red but given that my manicurist refused to paint my nails the color I wanted I was not really given much of a choice. She put the first coat of color on and put it under the machine. As soon as I took it out, I knew there was a problem. The polish was wrinkling, something I've never seen before and I've gotten a lot of manicures. The wrinkles didn't seem to phase her and she just kept going on about it. Towards the end all my nails looked decent except my thumbs. They were chipped and almost had a bleeding effect. It was an incredibly sloppy job. After I expressed my concern, she quickly took of my gel polish to start over on my thumbs. While I appreciate the fact that she took off my thumb gel polish and redid it, it didn't help at all. At this point, she's basically telling me that she told me not to pick this color or I should have put black under it but "sometimes costumers don't want to listen" or something like that. Well that's ridiculous! Did she purposefully do aShe could have kindly told me that they've had issues with this color in the past...I would have chosen a different color within the Reds I wanted had I known! After her failed attempt to fix my thumbs, she literally threw my hand back at me and said "there". I just wanted to get out of there. I paid the $30 that in my opinion should have been AT LEAST discounted and even tipped her, cause I figured it wasn't her fault since she made me feel so incompetent for not picking a color she approved of. About 30 mins later, I see that my pinky gel is lifting...are you kidding me? 30 mins! Gel is suppose to last TWO WEEKS! Not only is my pinky lifting but my thumbs are uneven in color, lumpy, and basically chipped. Now at that point I just wanted my money back and didn't even want them to try to fix it anymore. I then called the store and asked to speak to the owner, who I was told was not in at the moment. So I left my phone and told them to have her call me. It's been 5 days and I'm still waiting for my phone call to be returned.... read more

I'm giving 1 star because my last two visits have been more than disappointing. 1-I call in and ask for my favorite girl (Mia) I arrive and they are arguing whose going to do my feet, I'm the customer and I have requested her.... Very uncomfortable. 2- I again call and make an appointment with Mia, I get there it's her day off! why was my appointment taken for her and not told that it's really her day off? What should girls do when they're sad and blue? Get their nails did at an up(per)scale salon that's not in a mall. My girlfriends and I came to get mani/pedis because I was feeling really down ($35). We called and they penciled us in within 30 minutes for three girls on a Saturday afternoon. The salon is cute and the ladies all working here are so friendly! They smile at you, talk to you, and they don't yell or sound angry when speaking in their foreign tongue. It's actually quiet! I was able to relax and collect my thoughts and converse with my friends. The ladies even cracked me up...something no nail technician has ever done. The pedi was very nice, the scrub smelled like rainbow sherbert (my fave), and they even included a little leg massage. The quality of the job performed was top notch, as good as places that charge $50+. Usually when I go to cheaper salons, they don't paint my whole nail, leaving the edges unpainted. It looks lazy and as though I was attempting to make my nails look thinner, which is not the look I like or would emulate. Don't even get me started on the color selection they have here for both regular nail polish and gel. They carry all the popular trendy colors like muted pastels, deep/dark colors, coral, turquoise, nudes, and shimmery glitter polishes. Most salons I've been to only have a handful of gel colors, this place has so many and in really pretty colors too. I have been to the Lilly Nail Spa twice and here are my experiences: 1) Manicure - This experience was ok - the service was pretty quick but I had a hard time communicating exactly what I needed due to a language barrier with the technician. I wanted more cuticle removal than she was doing but unfortunately could not get that across. 2) I returned a second time because during my first visit I saw they sold OPI Bond Aid at the front counter for $7.50 and I needed to pick some up. I was SHOCKED when I went to check out and the clerk picked up a Sharpie pen and changed the price on the box to $17.50 but adding a one. By the time I realized it, my credit card had already been charged. = frustration Sorry Lilly Nail Spa that I can only one star. I really felt it bad business practice to raise the price more than 225% while I was checking out. read more

I just came back from this place, and again I am disappointed. I wanted to give them another chance, but it's not working for me. My main complaint is with regard to Angela, who did not do a good job on my pedi. I requested a french pedicure, and they came out quite uneven. When I requested a correction of this, she still didn't get it right. The owner, after reviewing the situation, requested someone else (Jenna) to correct it, which she did. As a side note, the person who did my mani was great. I could have overlooked all of this, however, Angela was about as rude to me as one person could be. This is the second incident that I have experienced at this establishment, and will likely be my last. While I like the owner a lot, she should be attentive to matters such as these, as one bad experience can ruin an overall opinion. Unfortunately, I will not be back. read more

I don't usually write reviews, especially these are negative ones, but I think I need to share my thoughts and experiences which I had in LiLy. First, the owner and a girl who did my manicure are so nice. Second, a woman who did my pedicure is so rude. She rolled her eyes when I declined a premium service with callus remover and only wanted a basic mani/pedi; moreover, she talked to her co-workers by native language and began hurting my toes. The color extended to the cuticle, and I asked her 2 times to clean it but she didn't . I can do at home better than her. The nail filer and buffer are reused. I have watched them clean after a pedicure; I almost died just wiped with a towel no sanitize. I do not recommend Lily nails spa for everyone. read more

It was a beautiful day in this bright, well-decorated salon, and the sea breeze was blowing right through both doors. They play music that is easy on the ears at a pleasing volume, and they do a nice job with the gel. Sandy did my nails. After not being able to go to my regular salon (WHICH I LOVE!) I thought I would try this place out. I will say it is very attractive inside and the chairs and massage rollers are great. I was satisfied with my manicure until the girl giving me the pedicure scraped my finger with her rings. When I said "ouch" she looked perturbed instead uttering a simple "sorry." She then had an attitude the rest of the manicure! As far as the pedicure, when it got to the massage, he just massaged the front of my calf in the same exact place for 3 minutes. It was starting to get painful and raw. NEVER HAD THIS EXPERIENCE in 20 YEARS of getting pedicures! I finally asked nicely if she does the feet. She looked annoyed and said she was getting there. This is after she asked me if I wanted extra time. Um. No, not if you never move your hands from one spot. Who is training these people on how to give a proper massage? I was thinking maybe I just got 2 bad people and was possibly open to giving it another try (because I live close) but after seeing more than 3 people say, "not worth it" I will can that idea. Up until recently, I had been getting my nails done at a hole-in-the-wall salon in Manhattan Beach. A few months ago I made the switch to acrylics and while the price was right for fills every two weeks ($20-$25), it was more common that not where a nail or two would break in between appointments. I was charged anywhere from $5-$7 to repair the broken nails. I was getting frustrated with going to the salon on a weekly basis and since I live in South Redondo (walking distance of Lilly Nail Spa), I decided to swing by to get a fill and have one of my broken nails replaced. The salon itself is bright, spacious, and clean and I was helped immediately even though I didn't make an appointment. My type-A personality was thrilled that they organize their nail polishes by color which isn't as common as one would think. While I don't remember the name of the woman who did my nails during my first appointment, she did a fantastic job. I'm not going to lie - I was taken aback when I went to pay and the price was almost double what I would pay at my previous salon. However the owner was incredibly transparent and explained that while their prices were higher, they would fix any broken nails within 10 days of my appointment free of charge. My subsequent appointments have been with Jessica and I couldn't be more impressed. She is an extremely skilled technician and has a great eye for detail - she's also a kind, funny woman who I love spending an hour every other week with. Yes, Lilly Nail Spa is more expensive than your average nail salon found in every strip mall but I've realized that I would rather pay more for quality (I haven't had a nail break since I started going to Lilly) and the personalized experience that I have visiting this salon. My co-worker recommned this newer nail shop right by the Redondo Village. Tried my french nail and they did great job. With french nails, you gotta wipe out the white part on the tip of your nails good to leave nicely shaped tip and it takes skills. Few places I've tried before, they didn't make the french nail the way I want them to be but I am happy with their skill and how it turns out here at Lilly's. To add more points, the staffs are very friendly and professional. I am recommending this place to many other my friends ever since.
