I selected the soup and the Bronzino and yogurt for each of the three courses. My guest also had the soup and the salmon followed by the yogurt. Good service unobtrusive. Food came out very quickly, but we were allowed lots of time to sit and chat and conclude our business meeting. The soup was hearty and a very tasty. Lentils nicely cooked and good flavor. Quite filling. The salmon was moist and cooked medium, even though it was a thin slice. My Branzino was cooked beautifully, even though the skin was a little bit more cooked than I like. The broccoli was nicely, steamed fresh and accompanied the fish well. The yogurt was fresh dripped with honey and nuts. I recommend this place. read more

The experience was dampened due to the incompetence of the blond hostess wearing glasses and her hair in a child like braid. We arrived 15 minutes prior to our reservation and she said we would have a 15 minute wait for our table, which is reasonable. Unfortunately, we waited 45 minutes and watched people walk in and get seated before us. When I followed up, her response was that we would be seated next. Shockingly, she didn't keep her word and kept seating other parties. Then, she put us at the worst table in the house, directly in front of the outdoor entrance where the December wind blew out our candle on our table multiple times. The waiter was great, and did his best to make it up to us. The food was good, no complaints there. But when the bill arrived, we were overcharged $44 for water. After another complaint, it was removed from our bill. The waiter gave us a complimentary dessert. I would think that such a place would have their act together, especially with all the competition of better restaurants in NYC. For our dine-and-learn event, the organizers chose Limani NYC at the Rockefeller Center to be the venue. The entire place is pristine. Our function room was spacious. Since it was a prix fixe, the menu was already laid out on our table. The appetizers of calamari, Greek spreads, tomato salad, peppers, and kolokithi; paper-thin zucchini, eggplant & kefalotyri cheese, and lightly fried were served family style. It was sumptuous, flavorful, and enough for 8 people on the table. For the main entree, my eyes caught the 10 oz. Prime beef tenderloin. I had it medium well. It was served with asparagus and potatoes. The filet mignon was cooked to perfection. We then capped the night with a fruit platter, honey and yogurt, baklava, and Portokalopita; orange and vanilla cake, vanilla whipped ganache, honey, and lavender ice cream to share. Visited here on a Saturday night and the restaurant looks exactly like the photos on the website. Conveniently located at Rockefeller Center, we walked in and were immediately seated at the fountain centerpiece surrounded by gorgeous white decor. The restaurant only got nicer as it got darker outside. All wait staff were courteous & friendly making good recommendations and engaging conversation. Dinner was delicious. We started with the Feta Wrapped Phyllo. I first had this dish in Greece 2 years ago and I've been searching for its equal in the US ever since. Tasted many, but none came close. My wife & I were excited to finally find an authentic match! So flavorful. I would truly go back for this dish alone. Halibut was cooked to perfection, but I do wish the portion was larger. Salmon was also very good and portion was appropriate. The night finished with a surprise Portokalopita for dessert as it was our anniversary. A perfect & very tasty ending. Dined here for lunch and would recommend making a reservation as they get busy especially during the week. They have a prefix lunch menu which comes with an app, main and dessert which I selected. I got the octopus appetizer was perfectly cooked, the sea bass which was amazing and the honey yogurt dessert. Another app must is the zucchini and eggplant chips. Staff: very attentive and constantly ensure all was having an amazing time. Food: definitely enjoyed the food. The ambiance is a bit weird with interesting blue lighting that feels almost like a club? Came here for a weeknight dinner and we ordered the Greek Salad, Grilled Haloumi, Kolokithi (fried zucchini/eggplant with cheese and dip), and the Lamb Chops. All the appetizers were fine. Limani is a large and spacious restaurant with a $39 fixed price lunch menu which has many different options for starters (appetizers, soup, salads), main entrees (roast fish, kebabs, etc) and dessert. I ordered the mediterranean mezze (dips and pita bread), salmon as my entree and fresh fruit. The portions are on the smaller side and might not be sufficient for someone with a bigger appetite, but it was more than enough for me. Service is relatively fast, and you can be out within an hour (depending on how quickly you eat). read more

I visited this establishment for an educational conference. A neurologist presented on a nasal medication that helps control seizures in patients with Epilepsy. The content was very interesting and engaging. I learned a lot during the presentation. The waiters were very attentive and helpful. They served a variety of different types of food. I enjoyed the salad, dips, bread, peppers, zucchini and calamari. I enjoyed all of the Mediterranean food and they serve a generous amount of food. The restaurant is very beautiful and very clean. Such a gorgeous restaurant with real olive trees looks like! I'm not sure how I ever missed this restaurant the numerous times walking past here. The Restaurant Week menu was affordable and the portions were enough for the next day surprisingly. I ordered the pita/hummus appetizer though I only liked two of the flavors okay and the wraps weren't tasty to me. The branzino fish was prepared the best I've had - it's normally too soft but theirs had a flaky feel. The orange cake was good, the lavender ice cream delicious. Servers were wonderful - they didn't over engage when we were deep in convo but always somehow saw us when we needed them and came right over. Overall I wasn't in love with the food so wouldn't necessarily return intentionally, but I'd recommend for people who drink and like pretty bars or who like tangier food. I've been a loyal customer of this 5-star restaurant, having dined here five times. The food, as always, is exceptional--delicious, beautifully presented, and worth every penny. However, my recent visit left me quite disappointed due to the service, which was far below the standard I expect from such an establishment. The issue began when I noticed that my plate was still wet when it arrived at the table. When I brought this to the waiter's attention, I was met with a rather poor excuse: "It just came out of the dishwasher." This response was not only unprofessional but also showed a lack of basic service training. A high-end restaurant like this should ensure that plates are dry and ready before being served to customers. (See attached photo, the plate just took a shower) When I raised my concerns with the manager, he did apologize, which I appreciated. However, the damage was already done. It's clear that while the kitchen staff are executing the restaurant's mission flawlessly with their incredible food, the waitstaff are not holding up their end of the bargain. Proper training and attention to detail are crucial, and unfortunately, that seems to be lacking here. Limani has always been one of my top go-to dinner and brunch spots. So as I was hosting my group of co-workers, I decided that Limani would wow them. I have always been impressed by the restaurant, tucked inside Rockefeller Center with a huge self-watering pool in the middle, in an all-white interior. My group went on a Monday evening. It started off being a table of less than 10, however grown to 13 persons group. It was distasteful that the restaurant was hounding me about the per-person minimum once my group became larger. First they had a pre-fixe menu, which did not have the best options, so I opted for the a la carte option, which provided each guest their own main course. Our server was less than ideal, he was very pushy, first about the grouper fish which he tried to sell to our group, he asked if I wanted a 10 pound grouper fish for the group, I declined, he then proceeded to bring over the 10 pound grouper to my face. Then, he continued to push all of the speciality fish and other items. It felt like he was just a dirty used car salesmen. Very distasteful! I ordered many dishes across the apps, some of the highlights included octopus, beets salad, gigantes, calamari. All of the apps were so delicious! For my main, I ordered the in-season soft shell crabs. This was completely burnt! All of the legs were completely inedible and black. On the other hand, I do know many of the other mains were delicious, such as the lobster pasta and the tuna, which was seared. I came with about 10 others for a weekday work dinner and it was pretty good! When I walked in, the interior of the restaurant is fancy and gives off a vibe of a upscale restaurant you'd see in a movie or TV show so that was kinda cool. To be honest I usually haven't had super great food at the more high end/expensive restaurants in the city (at least for the price) so I didn't really have much expectations for this, but was pleasantly surprised! We got some wine for the table, split a bunch of appetizers, and got our own entrees. For apps, we got octopus, calamari, kolokithi (thinly sliced and fried zucchini/eggplant), and a couple salads. I normally don't love octopus as the times I've had it , the texture has been too rubbery for me, but I loved it here and it was also seasoned perfectly. The calamari and the kolokithi were also pretty good, so by the time entrees came out I was already full from the delicious apps! For entrees, I got the lobster along with a couple of my other coworkers - but for some reason my lobster was notably smaller than the others although none of us had requested a specific size/number of pounds. Despite that, the lobster was delicious - It was buttery, tender, and flavorful, so I was a bit disappointed I didn't have more. For dessert, we got the deconstructed baklava, which was cool and tasty but nothing that blew me out of the water. Maybe it was just an off day but my husband and I were terribly disappointed in the food we were served. Even the dessert, was the highlight of the meal wasn't presented in an appealing manner and looks as though the hunk of cake and a scoop of icecream were haphasardly plopped onto the plates. There were times when my water or wine glass were empty and it took awhile for someone to notice. We had the Kumamoto oysters, crab cake, fried calamari, langoustines, and whole branzino. They tried to sell us on two fishes but one was enough to split four ways. We also had Greek salad, beets, fries and cauliflower. Overall the food was good, exactly what you'd expect. The bar is great for a a quick drink after work and setting is perfect for any special occasion (business, personal, milestones, etc). I had the pleasure of dining with a group of 10 for a night of food, drink, and conversation and Limani delivered. The drinks for crafted expertly. The apps were great and tried everything from the Mediterranean Meze to the Grilled Octopus to the Limani Chips. The main courses we tried the Organic Salmon, the Lamb Chops, and the filet mignon. All were served exactly as expected alongside some shared sides of Potatoes and Asparagus. The waitstaff was attentive and accommodating. One of our party arrived after the main course was served and the staff was able to fast track a main course for them so they could enjoy the meal with the rest of the group. Short review: Good restaurant week prices for lunch. Server was shamelessly trying to make extra. Appetizer was fine but underdressed. Tuna burger was atrocious. The bit of grilled fish I tried was outstanding. Dessert was tasty. I went for the lunch prix fixe as part of Restaurant Week 2023 a week or two ago on the weekend. Nice location and a good open design reminding me of Avra and other fancy estatorios. The server was not nice. He clearly wanted people to order more than what was listed such as "suggesting" appetizers and saying we could add a fish which defeats the whole purpose of RW. He also immediately asked about drinks right after handing out only one menu so we didn't look first and it turned out the tiny lemonade was $7 and the small thing of iced tea with a whole lot of ice was $4. As said, not nice. It's part of the business but I found him particularly greedy. They gave us some pita while waiting with their olive oil which was good and I presume judging by the pita later he wouldn't have mentioned if it cost a buck for more pita. As my appetizer from their small selection, I had the Greek Salad with tomato, cucumbers, onion, peppers, olives, and feta cheese. This was the more traditional village/Horiatiki version distinguished by it's lack of lettuce which is definitely my preference. The salad was small but tasty with a lot of tomatoes, a couple olives and small slices of cucumber, and a small bit of feta. It was well flavored but definitely tomato focused and it could have been more dressed. Another person had the Fried Calamari which they thought was fine. They liked the crisp but found it a bit bland. Two others had the mixed spreads which was likely the best deal. There wasn't enough pita for them and they ordered more which was a buck extra. He asked whether both wanted more pita. As my main, I regretfully had the Tuna Burger which was served with white radish salad and shredded fried zucchini. I ordered it rare as it's a tuna burger and another person got the same but medium-rare. The patty was well presented and came on massive pieces of bread. The bread was thick and a bit tough and just way too well bready for the patty. The tuna was tender but bland and I don't get why they are mashing up tuna and making it like a salmon burger when it would just be less work and tastier by just literally putting a tuna steak in-between. I don't even think it would cost that much more to make. It came with a mayo based sauce which added some well needed flavor. The radish salad was bland and lacked any dressing and the shredded fried zucchini was a bit different than the usual fries but not in a good way. Way too small and way too oily lacking zucchini flavor. It was essentially the remnants of old fries and it was pretty terrible. This wasn't worth it and nothing on the plate was good. Another person had the Organic Salmon and loved it and the last person had the Grilled Fish of the Day (I believe Loup De Mer) which they loved. I tried a bit and it was tender and lightly prepared reminding me of Avra and I would have much preferred it. All of us got the Portokalopita which is an orange & vanilla cake topped with honey and served with lavender ice cream. The cake was moist and delicious and the highlight of the meal with the ice cream having a subtle lavender flavor being mostly vanilla. I'd order it again on the main menu. The other choices were more generic; a Sorbet and Yiaourti or yogurt with Greek thyme honey. While two others enjoyed their meals much more, myself and one other did not as the burger was well terrible. I happened to just get a worse appetizer also than the spreads so even though the meal was plenty worth it for the price, it wasn't good outside of dessert. If this was the original prices, I'd likely give this place a 1 and wonder how the ratings are high outside of tourists visiting Rockefeller but for Restaurant Week, it was alright. If I ordered the fish of the day as part of this meal, I likely would give this place a 4. 2.5 rounded down for the combination of the burger and the male server who was unscrupulous at best. read more

Our waiter was very attentive, the fish was outstanding, the sorbet was magnificent, the salad was very fresh... I mean, 0 complaints here. I often like to give places 5 stars because I lean towards being nice, ha, but it's times like this where I think I should have given the other places 4 stars so this 5 star would stand out.
