I was super disappointed by Lindy's. This was on our to do list for our trip to Tucson. Of course we have seen it on TV so figured it should be good. The restaurant is very small and we were lucky when we got a table right away. They had a good list of burgers and some fun looking drinks. The drink I ordered was some punch something or other and it was WAY too sweet, like drinking kool aid with too much sugar. The burgers came out and they were TINY!!!! Tiny, Tiny, Tiny. So, I could agree with most everything that has been posted. This is a typical Diner on 4th Ave. It's small.. A bar and about 5 tables inside and a couple outside. My friend and I ate there last night and got there right before it got busy. We sat down and our waiter came over right away and took our drink order. We each had the The Dirty Sanchez which had green chilies, jalapenos, and pepper jack cheese and split an order of cheese fries. The burger was cooked just as I had asked and was really good. It had just the right amount of spice I was looking for. The fries were good too. Surprisingly not soggy (as far as that can be helped when covered in cheese...) I'm not really sure I can add anything of value to what has already been mentioned in the 200+ reviews for Lindy's! Let me just assure you that everything good that has been written here is so true! I can't give a full five stars because I didn't get a burger so I don't feel as though I got the true Lindy's experience. We drove in on a Thursday afternoon and were told to sit where ever we'd like. They had a hockey game on and the staff was so friendly. We ordered an original cheese steak and the Loaded basket of fries. Our food came out really quickly. The cheese steak was tasty, but I've had better, but I'm not discounting Lindy's because they're known for their burgers not cheese steaks. The fries were pretty awesome, I just wish there was a little bit more sour cream to match the cheesy intensity! One of my favorite things about Lindy's was having to walk past the kitchen to get through the bathroom. I think that just added to the quirky charm that is Lindy's. Yes it's small and probably not good for groups, regardless play musical chairs is split up into smaller groups and enjoy yourselves! All in all, Lindy's is definitely getting a follow up visit the next time I find myself traveling through Tucson. read more

Lindy's is extremely small and you will probably wait 15 minutes for a seat BUT it is completely worth it. I had the Blue Suede Burger and it was absolutely amazing! Everything was fresh and the bacon was to die for. Clean place and nice waitstaff. If you are impatient or claustrophobic, go somewhere else. read more

I've been to Lindy's twice so far. The first time was not so great, my burger was burnt to a crisp. I decided to give it another chance since my friends had been raving about it and the burnt burger seemed to be just a fluke. The second time, I brought two friends that had never been, and the experience was much better. Needless to say, the sassiness of the menu was both entertaining and kept us amused while deciding what we wanted. One of my friends got the Ninja (definitely painful to watch), and liked the uniqueness Lindy's even though she normally isn't a fan of burgers. The fries were also delicious, and easily the best part. They could do with a few more tables. The biggest con is that there are no split checks. I get it, you don't like them and you like to keep your attitude, but this is entirely inconvenient for everyone, but especially for college students who don't carry cash. read more

It was on an episode of Man vs Food, so this is how I found this place. I have been here twice, and both times I ordered the Mac N Cheeseburger with cheesy tots. Might as well get the cheese crave outta of our systems. The burger arrives completely slopped over with mac n cheese, with excess mac on the side. This is a wonderful thing usually. The burger was good, but not the mac and cheese. It tasted bland. Almost like cardboard, so maybe it was old mac. I had to salt and pepper everything like crazy to get some flavor. Service is slow, but it is pretty busy every time we are there. If I do come back next time, it will be to try something different. I had ordered their burger of the month which was the Chunky Monkey; a banana, peanut butter, honey, bacon and swiss burger. Can I say...AMAZING! I totally loved my burger! A regular on rotation while living in Tucson, I always make it a point to stop here whenever I'm in town. I was surprised to see that they've changed their interior. There's less bar seating, but that's fine; the place was usually pack on the weekends because of the limited seating. The Blue Baller is usually my go-to burger, always a single patty since I'm outgrown my over-eating days (that's usually good, right?) Though this last time around I wanted to try their Blue Suede Cow with a side of loaded tots. However, they were out of peanut butter (the one time I want to try it, heh), so blue baller it is. Hey, it happens. However, I'm taking a star off because I ordered loaded tots. Tots were pretty bare. We stopped in here while sightseeing with our daughters who are in town from college. We were all starved and some good burgers and fries were just what we needed. The atmosphere was fun, the music was great. I loved the servers who were very down to earth and friendly. There were a lot of great sounding choices. We ended up with the Texas Belt Buckle (with bbq sauce and onion rings on top), Mac and Cheese burger, Shroomin Cow burger and the Hawaii 5-O burger (with pineapple and a spicy sauce). To add to the table, we got a basket of loaded tots (cheese, sour cream, bacon bits and chives) and some plain fries. The food was great! The burgers were cooked nicely and the toppings were fantastic. We loved the tots and the cheese they were smothered in. Unlike a lot of other place that use some kind of generic canned cheese, they use real cheese sauce which is the same that they use for their mac and cheese. This place is disgusting - in a good way! Bacon-ranch fries, peanut butter/banana/BBQ sauce burgers (a "reverse cowgirl" as they call it), and plenty of beer all make this a gastronomical experience you will never regret but will instantly regret. I hung out in this area when I lived in Tucson in 1979-1980. It has a cool, alternative, hippie vibe that I love. My husband and I stopped in here for burgers and they were fabulous, as was the service. The kitchen was sparkling clean (I had to use the restroom, so I got to walk right through it! ) I had the Kush burger, which had raspberry preserves, blue cheese, green chiles and bacon. What an interesting, yummy combination! I couldn't eat the whole thing, especially since we had onion rings and tots. Saw this place on man vs food so I had to stop in. So they have tons of different burgers for what ever your taste buds desire. I just went for the original with green chilles, fries with cheese. Burger came out it was big and for the price 10$ well worth it. Burger was seasoned very good and all around was a good note. Fries were good a little different than most places. Not too big of a place and parking could be a little difficult if you go at a busy time. I want to try the grill cheese burger but will have to make sure I don't eat the entire day. read more

What a great experience! We were passing through on our way to pick up vintage trailer and we were driving an all nighter. We almost went to Phoenix but decided to get to Tucson...and I am soooooo glad we waited. Great service... our waitress Safari helped us find the perfect burger, The Kush! It was phenomenal... Seriously phenomenal. The burger was perfectly cooked and the flavor... OMG. It has raspberry preserves! Then Safari recommended a beer for both of us and we are pretty picky. Came here to eat after baptizing my godson at st. Xavier's mission, food sounded good and looked good as well. From our table the only complaint was from my wife that had the dirty sanchez, she said it needed more flavor. I on the other hand had the kush and it was great, the other teams we orders was chilli cheese tots, mac-N- cheese burger and the shroomin cow burger. Even though they was packed the waitresses where always checking on us and I had more then enough refills of cherry rc. I was out on a Friday night at the Hut, and heard that the Man v. Food show had been shot nearby at Lindy's. I tried the challenge, and ugh, that was a bad idea. That aside, the parts of the burger that I tasted were pretty good. Nicely seasoned and a good variety of cheese. They served Miller High Life, and depending on your mood, that could be good or bad. Great burger joint right on 4th ave. you gotta hit up a place that has hosted man vs food. The burgers are no joke you get your money's worth. You're not getting some McDs or Burger King quality. Had a great medium rare 1/2lb burger which was delicious. It was the one with the fried egg but can't remember the name. Our table got the shroomin and OJ all great. Forewarning is that medium is perfect for these burgers pink and juicy. If you get medium rare you might be eating fresh raw meat but I'm sure it would be ok because it's Arizona USDA prime beef. My husband and I visited Lindy's with our son today. We have never been there b4. My son wanted to check it out because he had seen it on man verses food. So we went. My son is 7, of course ordered a cheese burger with only ketchup and onion rings. My husband ordered a swiss cheese burger with mushroom and swiss, which I know has a name, but for 4got it, with tots. And I ordered the blue baller with onions rings. The service was nice and friendly. The burgers were excellent. The only bad thing I have to say is that the tator tots tasted like the were frozen and not good at all and the onion rings were average. They were out of fries which I was a little upset with but got over it. Decently priced and relaxing place to hang out. I would say that it's ok but I would not go out of my way to eat there again any time soon unless I was in the area. read more

Don't always expect a place to sit, but be prepared for an amazing burger. Doesn't matter if you order the Shrooming Cow or the Texas Beltbuckle, you'll recieve a something tasty quickly and cooked flawlessly. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with dishing out 4-5 dollars for an imiation sonoran dog somewhere along the street, but for a few dollars more at Lindy's, your appetite will be fully satisfied with these loaded burgers. I'm even willing to stay sober on 4th for a bite of one of these. Definitely a sandwich worth standing up to eat. read more
