Had an absolutely wonderful time! The staff was courteous and knowledgeable and not overbearing. The decor was very bistro-like. The option of picking a bottle of wine from the wine menu or picking a bottle out of the store for a very reasonable bottle charge was a nice touch. The cheese selection was fun and eclectic without being too overwhelmingly fancy. Pedro, at the cheese bar was a great mix of artist and machine, building the cheese boards with expert efficiency and grace. The food was excellent! We had a chicken dish and a flank steak from the specials menu. Both were perfectly prepared and plated. Finally we had the ice cream sandwich for dessert. The home made doughnuts are delightful and decadent and the ice cream was light and rich and just plain yummy! Makes me wish I had the money to open my own restaurant at home cause I would certainly be stealing ideas from your place! We did find the menu to be a bit intimidating in its size but other than that, don't change a thing! If I could give you 6 stars I would! read more

Can't rave enough about this place. Went on Monday night, shared apps and had a burger (medium) everything was awesome. Picked out a bottle of wine from the fantastic selection and was happy to pay the $10 cork fee. It was nice to walk around liquid assets while our food was being prepared. Andouille Sausage was my favourite of the selections we made. Picked up a 4 pack of bourban cider on the way out. read more

The only thing that kept this from getting five stars is that the service was not the best. There was nothing wrong about our server, but there were a few occasions when we sat with empty water glasses for a longer amount of time than was justified by the number of people in the restaurant. Our server was very pleasant in her manner, and made some excellent suggestions for our lunch and a bottle of wine to take back with us. If you go, I highly recommend the charcuterie board - you can mix and match from an extensive selection of cheeses and meats. Everything we had was amazing, and the boards were served with a variety of accompaniments. My husband and I had a lot of fun tasting the blend of flavors and making up different combinations. I was very impressed by the number of goat cheeses available, as I am lactose intolerant. For our entrees, I had the kabobs everyone on here had raved about and was not disappointed. They were sublime. My husband had the tuna, and ate every bite, even though he was full, because he could not stop himself. For dessert, we split an order of the donuts, and I have to say, my only complaint is that they gave us too many! After the appetizer, and the entree (and I only ate half of mine!) three of the donuts were a bit much, but oh my god, they were so good! I regret that due to slightly too much imbibing the night before, neither my husband nor I wanted any alcohol at lunch (whoops) because he was very intrigued by some of the mixed drinks they offered, and I would have loved doing some wine pairings. All in all, going to Liquid Assets was one of the highlights of our week, and we were kind of kicking ourselves for leaving it to the end of the week to go there, because we would have been there almost every day if we had gone sooner. We went to the Hobbit the next night for dinner, and decided of the two places, we felt Liquid Assets was superior in almost every way. read more

This place is neat. Like the look of the big open bar area. Cozy in the winter time. Hubby got a great martini, one of the best he's ever had (thanks Brett!) Had the cheese board, presentation was lovely. Only complaint would be lack of vegetarian options on the menu. Actually, a lot of restaurants in the area have a lack of meat-free dishes. Really surprised that a place with such good reviews on the "creative menu" didn't have a dinner that I could eat. read more

My favorite restaurant in Ocean City. Great rustic atmosphere, awesome drinks, and amazing food. Best scallops in town (Skye Bar is a close second, though.) Amazing burger, great beer selection. The prices can get a little high, especially for the drinks, but there's enough price variation on the menu that even if you have a more limited budget, you're going to enjoy yourself. read more

This place was a real treat. I would even be impressed if it were in DC, where there are hundreds of amazing restaurants. I am only reviewing the bar drinks and food (the store section did seem a little pricey). I came to OC this past weekend and came to Liquid Assets two of the three days I was there. On Friday night I went with three others for drinks and dinner. The sake-to me and mango madness martinis were top notch! For dinner I had the Cesar salad and creamy tomato soup. I normally do not order salads, let alone Cesar's, but this was a spectacular salad and my main motivation for coming back for lunch. The soup was interesting, It had great flavor but was definitely not a soup, but rather a marinara sauce. Can you imagine eating a bowl of marinara? Not expected. The homemade guacamole was exceptional and everyone else seemed to really enjoy their choices. For Sunday's lunch, I ordered off of the 2 for $8 special menu. I ordered the Cesar salad (of course) and the BBQ pulled pork. I am definitely a pulled pork aficionado and I pride myself in my own recipe. Liquid Assets' version was just perfect and I loved the slaw on top. The lunch specials are a great price and I think the regular menu is reasonable. This place will not disappoint! read more

A group of friends and I go here every year on our annual O.C. trip. I love the cozy dark dining rooms. Love the liquor store inside of the restaurant. This year we had to wait for a table so we were seated at a couch and had wine and cheese boards (the best menu items) while we waited. It states very clearly at the front desk that no incomplete parties will be seated. The menu does change (not sure how often) but the most popular dishes stay on the menu. Our waiters are always helpful and polite as well as attentive. It is a bit pricey in some ways however, if you're knowingly going to a great restaurant with high class fresh food then you really have no business calling it over priced. If that's how you feel then you know nothing about fine dining and should stick to mcdonalds. Get The Cheese Board!!! So delicious so many different kinds of cheese. Great assortment of cheese fruits crackers and jams on the board.. Oh goodness wish I was there now! read more

To start, if this review was all about the food it would have been a five star review. We arrived and were told it was an hour wait to be seated (other yelp reviews have noted that they do not take reservations), which was fine being the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend (Protip: hang out on the couches in the bar area and bar staff will come around to you for drinks and appetizers). The drinks were great and generous pours throughout, but once we were seated service slowed considerably. We were some of the last patrons seated for the night and waited a half hour for a charcuterie and cheese. Then decided to place an entree order after eating that (it was nearly 10pm at this point), which took another 45 minutes to get to our table. We were told the delay was due to "coursing their food", but I've never had steamed mussels and grilled cheese take nearly an hour to come out. Afterwards it took a half hour from when we asked for the check to get it. Not exactly the experience my wife and I were hoping for. tl;dr: good food and drinks, miserable wait times. Would give atleast one more shot. read more

Went here for dinner and certainly were not disappointed. We had been before for dessert and drinks, but this was our first venture for dinner. The atmosphere may be the best in ocean city. I love that you can go in and buy beer, wine and liquor here since they have such a wide variety. We ended up getting seats at the appetizer and desert bar which was great because we saw our appetizers being made. The craft beer selection is very good, although somewhat pricey. They do offer something called a big brew program where you can grab on of the large beers from the store and drink it from a really cold glass for less money than 2 beers. For appetizers we had the bahn mi, it was good but nothing special, and the tuna crisps. The crisps were very good, full of flavor. The main courses were a special, a pork shank, and pan roasted duck breast. While both were very good, neither wowed us. We got a lemon tart for desert which was very good as well. The food was all very good and this place is easily one of the best restaurants in Ocean City. The atmosphere is spectacular and it is a great place to get a drink. The reason for 4 stars over 5 is I wanted to be wowed by the food and we weren't. Perhaps going again and trying different items might net that result, and we will be going again. read more

Chef Guy and his Assistant Aubry hosted an amazing night for my Mom and Dad's 50th Anniversary celebration at the beach. Liquid Assets prepared an oceanfront "experience" for our family of 10 at the Ocean Colony townhouse we rented for the week. From the moment we began to work with them we knew the event was in good hands. The menu you prepared for us was perfect. Having Guy and Aubry come to our oceanfront townhouse and prepare the meal in front of us, right on the beach, and serve us on our oceanfront deck made the evening even more special. Aubry was a gem and added lost of extra special touches -- a beautifully set table, with lovely center pieces, lace table cloths, and a wonderful smile. My Mom and Dad both said it was the best meal they every had. They even went to extraordinary lengths to make sure that my Mom had her favorite dessert, Carrot Cake from Smith Island! While we were too full that night, we all enjoyed it for the rest of the week. It was an evening none of us will every forget. Thank you again for all you did. We are grateful. read more
