Came here for the first time. Never heard of this place coming from the Bryan College Station. To be honest, looked like a mid type of restaurant and seeing several locatiojs, I thought it was a knock off KFC or Popeyes, BUT I was wrong lol. This might be the cheapest fried chicken prices that is super juicy, crispy, and flavorful. The flavor is NOT exaggerated. Whatever they use for their spices, is freaking magical lol. I love fried chicken and I've had a lot, but so far, I gotta say, Lisa's Chicken is the champ right now. I know there is probably a better chicken, BUT, not for these prices. We also ordered the fried catfish and fried shrimp. The shrimp was ok so I probably wouldn't buy it again, but the catfish was pretty good. The side dishes were flavorful as well. Overall, probably not the healthiest to be smashing fried chicken all the time, but it's kind of hard not to when it's so affordable as well and very close to home. I made my 1st order today and was very surprised. My guests and I thoroughly enjoyed the food. I had the 2 piece catfish dinner. The pieces of catfish were large and perfectly seasoned. The Cold Slaw was the best I've had since my Mother's. My guests said the Chicken was crispy on the outside while moist on the inside. We had a 8 year old that asked for the Gizzards and he wolfed them down and asked for more. Well, what can I say? This was a place I have had on my Arlington bucket list...kind of glad I got it out of the way. To start off, I mean we weren't expecting a 5 star luxury experience, but it had the ambience of a laundry mat. There's seating for 4 people - that's it. We went in with very high hopes considering fellow yelpers gave this place 4 stars on average. I really feel like people had their judgment clouded by the portion size and price. That, it did have but surprisingly there was NO flavor. We ordered the 5 piece chicken tender combo. Priced amazingly well at $6.05 including tax. It comes with 2 sides, a roll, white gravy, and a medium drink. The roll was your average grocery store quality roll; even serving it with a good ol' King's Hawaiian sweet rolls would've been better. Every single item lacked flavor and salt - very surprising considering that fried chicken joints are notorious for the opposite problem of being way too sodium-laden. The fried okra was well fried and had a crunch but again, no flavor. Just battered okra bits.The white gravy and mashed potatoes tasted like instant mixes and again needed salt. We clawed at the black pepper shaker and vigorously shook it to help the gravy have SOME taste. I heard the same grievances about the hush puppies and fries. The chicken was also salt less and wasn't crispy. Oddly enough my friend scowled after her first sip of sweet tea. It was SUPER sweet and even after having an employee dump out half and fill with unsweetened tea and more ice, it was STILL too sweet. We also heard an employee (or maybe Lisa herself?) in the back say out loud, "my customers don't know how to count." I am so glad I found this fried chicken hole in the wall! I love Gus' and Church's fried chicken, but this place is a huge bang for your buck. I think we ordered 10 pieces of chicken for about $7. The chicken is well-seasoned and very crispy (my favorite part about fried chicken). The chicken was moist and fresh. It comes with a side of dinner rolls, which I didn't really care too much for. I am excited to try some of the other items on their menu. They do not really have an area to dine, but it's more like a to-go place. Well I had the rare craving and it was on the way to a training class I had. I hit the drive through and was impressed that the menu was simple and reasonably priced. Cat fish, Chicken, Fries, hush puppies, etc. The drive-through is fast, just a little tight. Inside is small. It is a take-home type of place. The kids love the biscuits and fight over them. It's Lisa chicken ! You have to make the drive to get to it but you won't be sorry . It takes me 20 min to get there and 20 min back on my lunch break so that's almost my whole lunch break but the end result is worth it . Fresh hot crisp chicken and that batter ?? Had a friend who had eaten here, and saw it being talked about on other food sources, so I've eaten here for lunch a couple of times recently. My biggest complaint lately about the places I usually go for chicken tenders is that they are gettin' kind of rubberey. You get five (count em) five large tenders, two sides and drink for $6 and change. The tenders were crispy, and NOT rubbery. Had to add a little salt to them and the gravy, but they were good, and the corn on the cob and mashed pots and gravy were good to. A great deal, and more food than you need. Second time I got the chicken fried steak, with mashed and green beans. The pots and green beans were good. The chicken fry was good, but seemed kind of "institutional"...like it was out of the freezer, pre breaded, reminded me of the ones back in school somewhat, but hey, it was still pretty good to me. But I admit, I've met very few chicken fried steaks I didn't like. Once again, lots of good food for about $5+. Place is small, back counter with 4-5 seats, but if people are waiting for food and you're eating there (got mine to go) expect to have your personal space heavily violated, but not at the fault of the person doing it. I'm a regular customer here at Lisa's off of division and I've only had one complaint of the many times I've visited. I will get a family order if chicken and Sides maybe once a month or so. Always fresh chicken and never have any complaints on that. When I'm getting it alone I usually get the fish fillet combo which is always fresh for me. One complaint i had is when I ordered the chicken gizzards and sides. The sides were good but the gizzards had a foul smell and taste to them. I was like WTF! Even my wife who smelled them from the bag was like I wouldn't eat that. It stinks! I tired one and it taste just like it smelled. I haven't ordered the gizzards since and decided to continue with what I know. All in all I love Lisa's chicken and will be a forever customer. read more

Experience: It's in a obscure area in the near suburbs and a little ghetto part of town. However it is conveniently located near the campus of UTA. My roommate and I came at a kind of late time of the night (around 9ish~10) and they were not open to dine in, only drive thru. Which was confusing, so we parked and tried to go in but the doors were locked. so the overall experience was ...meh Food: food was pretty good! the chicken was the best here (as you have already read) However, I would not recommend getting fries or the coleslaw. The fries are like the fat microwaved fries with no taste, and the coleslaw is okay not too bad. What I love about this place is the price! It was $6.05 (includes tax, total) for a 5 piece chicken strip meal (the meal comes with 2 sides, a roll, gravy, and a drink) all for 6 dollars! totally worth it. This fried chicken joint is extremely small. If you're looking to eat at this location, I would recommend for you to take it to go. Though the place is pretty shabby looking, it gets a lot of business because the food is delicious. For the cheap prices, you can get a meal that is fulfilling. My friends and I love to come here for a quick lunch. As far as the food goes, it's always fresh. Though the employees are friendly and the food is good, the people who run this place have terrible management. When ordering an item on the menu that isn't chicken, you're most likely going to wait for a good 10 minutes because they don't start to make it until you order it. Also, the employees never really bother to make more of the side items until they run completely out. I find this to be extremely inconvenient for a fast food joint. Overall, a great place to order food from. Despite the name, they have many other options that aren't just fried chicken. Fried catfish and shrimp are also available in (after 10 minutes of waiting), and the variety of different sides are fantastic. My friends always get the buttered corn on the cob as a side because they love it so much. 3/5 stars because of the wait time and cleanliness of the location.
