The flavor was amazing and the clams were plentiful and soft. A really great cup of chowder. So if it's a 5 star experience, why only 4 stars? Casual and large restaurant known for its local seafood and friendly service. The fried food was delicate and fresh ... maybe not as crispy as some would like but our party of four was happy. Lobster roll is all about the lobster with just a bit of mayo to hold everything together. Tartar sauce had an odd red pepper flavor but at least it was homeade. But, the portion size on the Half Size Fried Haddock PoBoy should be about double the thickness in relation to other Seafood Eateries. Razor Thin Sliced Haddock is not a good approach. What a great local spot! A short walk from our Air BNB and we loved it! Sat at the bar instead of waiting for a table and got great service! Kyla and Adam took great care of us and the food was just delicious! Has a nice outside deck area with music if that's your thing! Not too loud tho if you want some conversation!! Waitress was nice but forgot his beer and then also forgot his coleslaw. We got devoured my mosquitos the least 20 min of our meal. First time coming to this place and it did not disappoint. The food was some of the best. We have tried many pizzas in Maine and this is the first to come close to NY style pizza. My girlfriend and I were looking for a place to eat for our Date Night in Wells. We stumbled upon Litchfield's Bar & Grille while coasting Route 1. The atmosphere is welcoming, with great decor, and plenty of seating. We did not have to wait to be seated. The food was EXCELLENT. I had the Captain's Platter and my girlfriend had the Two Way Combo. HUGE PORTIONS. So big we had to take it all home. The food was so delicious. Visited for the first time on our recent vacation to Ogunquit. It can be a struggle finding an open restaurant around town to grab dinner after staying on the beach until the last bit of sun has vanished. We decided to venture out to Wells to look for options and decided to give it a shot. The staff was great, with fast service. The food was all very solid bar food, with very reasonable prices. We asked to sit at the bar and were seated near the end. A bartender took our drink order after asking if we drinking or eating. We answered that we were eating and having drinks. We were given menus and our drink order was taken and filled. Beers were as cold as the service! We listened as one of the bartenders chatted with a couple of regulars but never asked if we were ready to order. After waiting for close to 30 minutes we decided that they really didn't want to take a food order and left a $20 on the bar hoping someone would notice we were ready to pay. Took another ten minutes for the bartender to cash us out. We are not locals and really wanted to try the food as the menu looked appealing. Their facebook page always shows the large sign with the specials for the day, but the service does not live up to the enticing specials. Well, let me be clear, Litchfields was/is a HIT.. Their menu was surprisingly big considering we are still dealing with Covid. The waitress, was very attentive to us and answered a few questions my wife had. Once we saw prepared meals being brought to other tables, we were encouraged as to the size and looks of their plates. My wife ordered a turkey,mozzarella, caprese and I got a Haddock Ruben. Our meals were no only delicious but they were also big enough that we each took 1/2 of our lunches with us for later.. One of the best places I have ever been! The food was awesome and the service even more exceptional! We got the clam chowder and the French onion soup and they were so fresh and flavorful. My husband got the steak tips and they were cooked perfectly. But the best thing about our visit was the service. Everyone was so nice! Our service checked up on us so much, it wasn't annoying it was refreshing. Also the busser that they have was here there and everywhere.
