Came tonight to Litchfield's Bar and Grill in Wells Maine. We're staying at a hotel for weekend in Wells and I called ahead to see if a reservation was needed. They don't take reservations so we showed up at approx 5:30pm on a Saturday night during Covid for a party of 4. The restaurant was pretty full. Kathleen was our server. She was excellent. I read lots of reviews saying the staff was attentive and Kathleen met all our expectations. I had 3 teenage children with me. We got the nachos and mozzarella sticks to start. All awesome! Our entrees included a lobster roll, chicken, wedge salad w/ salmon and a cheeseburger. 5 stars on all items. Wish there was a Litchfield's in my area. Kathleen gets top server award! read more

Just finished dinner. Waitress said it was her first night. She was very attentive, answered our questions and did an overall great job. We had the lobster roll. Good amount of meat, could've used some seasoning. Served with fries $15.99 special tonight. Childrens haddock meal $6.99 served with fries. A good portion. My son enjoyed and couldn't finish. 2 combo platter of whole belly clams and sea scallops served with fries for $20.99. The portion was good, but our favorite place gives a bigger portion for the same price. However, I'd still come back here and recommend this place. It was cooked just right. Shipyard pumpkin ale $5 draft. Tall absolut vodka and cranberry $7. A little light on the vodka. Peanut butter pie to go so I can't comment on that yet. Plenty of parking. Has lots of tvs to catch up on the games. A full bar. Looks like the locals come here which always says come back. read more

Flew into town for work, and this was the only place open for oysters and lobster rolls!!!! It was amazing!!!!! Great service as well! It's a must try!!!! I'll definitely be back. Shout out to the chef for the oysters when they weren't on the late night menu!!!! You rock! read more

This location was recommended by the establishment we were staying and it exceeded expectations. The wings and tenders were freshly battered and well seasoned. The seafood options were fresh and meticulously prepared. The burgers, lobster rolls and chowders were all crafted to perfection. The craft beer selection was limited but I cannot hold that against them as that was not highlighted as part of the recommendation nor the menu. Despite it being during COVID, they had a great outdoor tent set up and the service was keenly alert to make the experience pleasant. I'd recommend it to others and will revisit as well. read more

This place was awesome last night. Got a table instantly for our party of 9 around 4:30pm. Wasn't sure what to expect as we've never been here before. We got menus right away and asked if we'd like drinks. Within a couple minutes we had our drinks and ordered appetizers. Literally less than 5 minutes appetizers were brought out and we ordered our meals. Appetizers were delicious. Our waitress was phenomenal. Absolutely top notch. Very friendly and attentive. Lovely accent to boot. All 9 of our party enjoyed our meal. A few had coffee afterward and by 5:30 we were headed out. Took one hour for drinks, appetizers, meals and coffee from start to finish. We will definitely make a visit to Litchfield's at least once on our annual vacation to Maine. read more

Had an excellent time at Litchfield's on Saturday night. Started with a rum punch and a maragarita for my friend. Began with some delicious oysters on the half shell, then on to a lobster, which my travel mate said it was the best she's had in a long time, and she had the 1lb Delmonico steak. Cooked perfectly. I had the 3-Fer.... fried scallops, fried shrimp and fried haddock dinner. All delicious. But a lil on the pricey side for the three. Nonetheless,,, dinner was fantastic. This place was not good. Food lacked flavor and didn't even look appetizing. We ordered the Buffalo tender plate and stuffed haddock. Awful.

Was looking for someplace to take a friend for Mothers' Day and happened by Litchfield's. I had been here once before and decided to give it another go. The food was very good - they had a "Hungarian Mushroom Soup" on special that was out of this world, and the fried oyster Po' Boy was very good, although the oysters probably should have been a little crispier. HOWEVER, and the reason for two stars, the dining area is separated by the bar area only by a waist-level wall, so it's all one space. Unfortunately, there were some boisterous folks in the bar area who really didn't seem to care that they were in a public place and were speaking VERY loudly, and with some really filthy language. Now, I'm used to some salty language, but there were several diners there, clearly out for Mothers' Day, and some elderly patrons. We all got an earful. I don't blame the loud folks in the bar area, but I DO blame the management for not asking them to quiet down. I hate writing bad reviews but this was hands down the absolute worst experience of my life... I start out my dinner with the Wagyu sliders and the lobster Rangoon. It was great. I ordered the "Monstah, Lobstah sub" warm with butter and no tomatoes. Another person in my party ordered the 16 oz rib eye medium rare. Both of them come out at the same time and the lobster roll is cold and has tomatoes. The rib eye was completely brown all the way through and had no taste to it whatsoever. We ask the waitress to take both dishes back. My party asks for the caprese sandwich instead of the steak, and I asked for them to just warm up the lobster, I was told that it would cost $2 more to just warm up the lobster (With NO butter). The manager comes out and instead of being apologetic, immediately starts off the conversation as if I was incorrect and that I was causing a problem. After a rude confrontation our food comes back out. The caprese sandwich came out without the balsamic, but my lobster roll was packed and looked delicious. I went to go and take a bite and smelt a pungent, cleaner, ammonia-like smell and immediately stopped and passed my sub around the table for everyone to smell it. The smell was so pungent my nose began to burn. I informed the waitress of the pungent smell of the lobster roll and the manager is instantly there, waiting and ready to try to combat our claims. The manager storms over and says "this is ridiculous" before even hearing what was wrong. I asked her to smell the lobster roll and she refused, we went back and forth with me asking her to smell it and her refusing and stating, "We are in a restaurant, I am not smelling it.", claiming the lobster was "fresh". I have never been approached by a manager?/owner? in such a rude demeanor, instantly telling me that I am ridiculous and wrong (I guess the customer is always wrong). She finally asks me if I would like anything else in a demeaning manner. Our table decided that a check was the best thing for us. Will never be returning, when a simple "I apologize for that, I'll get that fixed right away" would've not only solved the problem but made me a paying, returning customer. P.S. This was the best meal out we've had in a very long time. The prices were extremely reasonable - especially compared to other local restaurants. The stuffed mushrooms were to die for!!!!! The drinks were VERY reasonably priced. The baked haddock was cooked to perfection. The chicken fingers were crunchy, juicy and flavorful. No complaints whatsoever. Came here on recommendation from my hotel that this is where the locals have good food. We were seated right away for a Saturday lunch hour. I had the lobster salad which was served under a house salad. Great portion of lobster and left feeling full. I chose their homemade Greek vinaigrette which wasn't my favorite, there wasn't much flavor or the acidic vinegar taste I love from my usual vinaigrette. Other than that I really enjoyed it. If you want a fabulous dining experience, Litchfields Bar & Grill in Wells, ME is the place! Beth and Katarina could not have been more wonderful! They treated us like gold! Was on a vacation to Wells and we went to Litchfield's 2 nights in a row because it's conveniently open late! Our first night we had Caterina as a server and she was amazing! this will be a new dinner spot and even lunch spot for us! Funny we have been coming to Maine for years and our friends just introduced this restaurant to is. So all four of us went and ate some really delicious foods! I got the classic cheeseburger which was mouth watering and delicious. Rice pilaf for a side was ok a little mushy! But let me tell you their fried pickles are Amazing!!!! we couldn't stop eating them! My fiancé got a salad and steak tips. He devoured them in two min. And he is a picky guy! My family lives in this area and I found this place on a recent visit. Now that I live on the west coast, I always feel like a bit of an outsider when I'm back home in Maine. It's nice to find a friendly spot. The staff here welcomed us with open arms, good burgers, cheap cocktails, and the best lobster roll my brother says he's ever had. Tried out this place because it really was all that was open ( 8:30pm) and had cars out front. We were kindly greeted and sat in a booth. The waitress was nice and got us our drinks. We ordered the captains platter, cup of chowder and a side of home made baked beans. All the food was tasty and enjoyable. This place is more of a tavern than a quiet restaurant. A friend and I went here for the first time today. I had the haddock basket. It was delicious. The fish was moist and flaky and the batter was light and not greasy. My friend had the prime beef sandwich that had thinly sliced roast beef with onions and horseradish mayo. She liked it so much, she wants to come back on Thursday! This is definitely a bar and grill type of restaurant without the dankness one sometimes associates with the name. It's clean and open and our waitress Susie was wonderful. It's great for all ages and has a menu that ranges from hamburgers to char grilled oysters. I highly recommend this casual eatery and plan on returning soon. It's so nice to have a restaurant in Wells that serves good food and is open year round. read more

Horrible service and grossed out. We came in last night mid evening. The bartenders , seemed like there were plenty, ignored us, they were eating and socializing. We are Mainers and understand July is busy, this was laziness. I'm refusing to post the pic my boyfriend took of actual food on the dark haired girl's mouth, eating and serving don't mix. The bathrooms are better where we are camping. We went across the street for our after dinner drink and dessert to the Bitter End, amazing service and was twice as busy.
