My reviews are always honest and impartial, and this visit ranks among the worst I've experienced. From the start, the tone was set by a reservation system that requires a $50 hold, a policy I can accept if the restaurant delivers on professionalism. Unfortunately, that was not the case. We arrived on time only to wait well past our slot. The greeting was cold and unwelcoming, even after mentioning it was our first visit. After driving from Temecula, we stepped away briefly -- and returned to find our table cleared and our drinks gone. The hostess explained, "The waitress thought you left." Totally unacceptable We requested a different server and were moved, but the atmosphere never recovered. The treatment felt dismissive and deeply uncomfortable. Super cute restaurant with really yummy food! Definitely on the pricey side but also what can be expected for Coronado island. We got the French toast, salmon Benedict, and herb omelet. We wanted to like this place (the hot chocolate was good), but our waitress, Kimber, was incredibly rude. She padded our bill with items we didn't order and that aren't even on the menu. When my friend pointed out the phantom items, instead of apologizing, she actually lectured him that he "needs to order better." While she reduced the item's price, it didn't really matter because she embarrassed him over her own mistake. If the goal was to inflate the bill for a bigger tip, this isn't the way. She also went out of her way to trash-talk CH restaurants, which is ironic since a CH employee has never lied or lectured me over their own mistakes. As a business owner, I would want to know if my staff was behaving this way. I hope management addresses it. read more

My wife and I came here for breakfast, we had been here for dinner before but wanted to try the breakfast. It's a nice place it was quiet during the week. We ordered the smoked salmon Benedict which was delicious, and I ordered a quiche which looked amazing. The quiche I felt was missing a bit of flavor but hearty and cheesy, give one take one I guess. The service is very nice, and accommodating. My first cup of coffee was perfect hot, bold and strong. The second cup was decaf, however came out lukewarm and had to stir my coffee with a knife a few other issues came up later on, worth mentioning, however I must mentioned they corrected the issue in a friendly manner and fast. I've been missing French cuisine after being in France last summer. Saw this gem on social media and I had to try it! It was the hot chocolate poured into a croissant that got me! Enjoyed a cheese board with different types of French cheeses and jams. YUM! Trying the prawn salad was fresh and I loved the herbs and citrus in the salad as well. The truffle pomme frites were scrumptious. For desert I tried an array of French hot chocolate, opera dessert, and a brandy cruffin! 10/10 service from Daniel and Kimber also made this dining experience special. My wife and I had a truly enjoyable meal at Le Frenchie Cafe during a recent weekend getaway to Coronado. The spot nails that authentic French cafe vibe, perfectly in line with the name, and we loved sitting outside on the sidewalk by the Banc of California, soaking in the ambiance. They're pet friendly too, and our pup happily joined us at the table. We kicked things off with the French Baguette and Pate de Foie Poulet appetizers, both absolutely delicious and so filling that by the time our mains arrived, I was already loosening my belt. The pickled onions for the pate were so addictive, they should jar and sell them. For the main courses, we shared the Duck Confit Salad and the Frenchie Dip sub salad with fries. Everything was fresh, flavorful and spot on. We savored every bite we could manage. The only "negative" was having no room left for dessert, which looked incredible. The decor of the cafe was super cute, and being in such a good location I appreciate that about 2/3 of the seating is outside. She ordered the buckwheat crepe, filled with salmon, spinach, tomato and capers. Lovely. I had the short ribs hash with a poached egg (i ordered two additional eggs, but, honestly, they weren't needed). The hash is made in-house (it's amazing!) and topped with raclette cheese. Trust me... you want this! It was so hearty, I wondered aloud if it was too early to order a Bordeaux! Tending to our every need was Janiss, our faithful server and attendant. She was thorough without being annoying... tough balance for our table. She even filled my empty cup with coffee as she made her rounds! Stopped by Little Frenchie to try the hot chocolate croissant that's been making the rounds on IG and social media. Got there around noon and even with a number of tables empty we were told by the hostess that there would be an hour wait or longer due to reservations. We were about to leave and then decided to ask her if we could just get one of the tables for fifteen mins to try the croissant and be on our way and luckily she agreed and we nabbed a table. We ordered the La Parisian hot chocolate that is served in a spiral croissant and added the strawberries option. Since we were hungry we also opted for the Frenchie beef dip sandwich which comprised of prime roasted beef, aioli, comte cheese, caramelized onion, beef jus, organic mixed greens. The hot chocolate came out first and the server poured some of it into the croissant and a bit into our cups to savor. It was delicious! The croissant was crisp and chewy at the same time and the hot chocolate added a nice warmth and sweetness to the bite. The beef dip was also great, generous portions of beef and cheese, great flavors especially when dipped in the accompanying beef jus.
