Nick is all about service and quality. This he provided so well that everybody raved about the dinner. Nick put together a menu of my husbands favorite foods -cheeseburgers, french fries, banana cream pie and million dollar bars. The cheeseburgers were a custom ground blend of grass fed beef in short ribs, brisket and chuck. The french fries were housecut and fried in duck fat and beef tallow. The banana cream pie was served as individual tartlets. The million dollar bars, a British specialty, started with a layer of shortbread, then caramel and chocolate with chocolate ganache. Our guests were crazy about everything. I heard them repeat that this was the best food ever.

Unfortunately, my experience at this location was the complete opposite. The service was awful, and our server's attitude was dismissive and incredibly off-putting. He was rude, made virtually no eye contact with me, and after I personally paid the bill with my card, he inexplicably returned my card to my friend instead of me. What made the experience even more uncomfortable was watching the drastic difference in how he interacted with other guests. He repeatedly went out of his way to kneel down and warmly engage with tables of male patrons while treating me with complete indifference. Guests should feel welcomed and valued not like the staff are doing them a favor by allowing them to walk through the door. The attitude and treatment I experienced were unacceptable and nowhere near the level of service I have come to expect from the original OB Noodle House. This location was an enormous disappointment. I would never return and absolutely would not recommend it based on the treatment I received.

I know people who love this place so much that it is part of their regular rotation. Me being born and raised in San Diego without ever trying it almost felt like a crime. I finally decided it was time to pay a visit. We came with a party of five. The seating setup was a little different from what I expected. We ended up at a long picnic table style booth that we shared with another couple. It honestly was not an issue since there was still plenty of space. It was just a different concept for me. The servers were super friendly and bubbly. They moved fast too. Our food came out pretty quickly. We ordered the Char-grilled Beef, Eggroll & Cold Vermicelli Noodles, Fresh Spring Rolls, the famous Spicy Garlic Wings plus the Korean Beef Short Ribs. The Fresh Spring Rolls were good. They were filled with shrimp, thinly sliced pork, lettuce, vermicelli noodles, basil plus bean sprouts. The peanut plum hoisin sauce definitely carried them though. Add some of their chili sauce into it too. Delicious. Now for the Spicy Garlic Wings. I know everyone raves about these, but honestly, based on the ones we got, I feel like I would rather have Wingstop. They were really dry. I even asked a friend who has been here before if that was normal. Apparently they are usually not like that, so maybe we just caught them on a bad day or they spent a little too much time in the fryer. Either way, they had definitely lost a lot of their moisture. The flavor was there, but the dryness made it hard for them to really stand out to me. My favorite was easily the Korean Beef Short Ribs. They came out sizzling over caramelized onions with a generous amount of marinated meat. Great flavor. Great texture. Delicious. This was probably the one dish I would order again without thinking twice. The Char-grilled Beef, Eggroll & Cold Vermicelli Noodles were fine. The noodles were a little too bouncy and chewy for me. They almost tasted slightly underdone. The grilled beef had great flavor though. Once everything was mixed with the fish sauce, it came together much better.

Food is delicious & the fish is fresh! We've had better clam chowder, but it was still good…read more The gal at the register was great - answered all our questions/gave her opinion between choices we were struggling on. She didn't make us feel rushed despite the growing line behind us (we were truly trying to hurry, though, because of it). If you like sashimi, get their sashimi appetizer! We haven't been able to find a good place for sashimi since we moved to Southern California 5 years ago. Don't get me wrong, we've gotten good sashimi, but not cut thick & with good quality that is worth the price like this place. The price wasn't even as high as many of the other sashimi places we've tried! They give you only 2 fish choices on the plate, however. They have listed about 5 or 6 different kinds, but it depends on what is available. We had salmon & tuna. Salmon is my favorite, but their tuna was fantastic! First time I can say I may have liked it better than the salmon!! Their other dishes we had were also yummy. My daughter loves scallops & they were cooked to perfection. I don't usually like scallops because most places cook them till they're rubbery. Not this place! My husband had swordfish & I had the sea bass. Both were also delicious, but I think they may have mixed up which plate went to which person. Good thing, as we were trying each others' food, my daughter noted the slight texture difference between the two (I hadn't had a chance to taste them yet). Interestingly, swordfish usually has a vastly different texture than bass, but here, they cook it so well, there wasn't a huge amount of difference! That says something since swordfish is usually very "meaty." If my daughter hadn't noticed, I wouldn't have complained even though I was looking forward to the bass. I like flakier fish. However, the bass wasn't as flaky as I anticipated, but both were so tender, the mix-up wasn't a deal breaker. I don't know how they season the rice, but YUM! Even though I'm Asian, I'm not one who usually eats the rice. It's usually just a filler for me, & since I don't eat much, I'd rather eat the "other stuff" & usually leave most of the rice. Not here! I almost couldn't get enough of it, lol! So good!! At the end, we needed boxes. We had to ask two different waitresses since the first one we asked never came with them. It's an "order at the register then find a table" type of place, so there wasnt any "service" to speak of. Be prepared to stand in line - this place is popular for a reason! Parking is a challenge, but worth it. We definitely will be back!

It was just a small shop where you order & go! The salmon & tuna were super fresh + flavorful... no fishy taste at all. Around $18 a plate, I thought it was pretty reasonable for poke these days. We had shrimp ceviche and chicken empanadas as well as fruits, veggies, dips and crackers for appetizers. These were a huge hit with all our guests. For main entrees we had chicken and pot roast with twice baked potatoes, grilled veggies and oriental salad along with rolls and butter. The meats were so scrumptious and tender. We had an abundance of compliments from our guests on how fabulous the food tasted. The staff working our event under the leadership of Danny was superb. They handled all our requests promptly and with the utmost professionalism. For a company that came in at the lower end when pricing caterers, the quality of the service and products they deliver are on par with high end caterers. We loved the food and service provided by Ranch Events. In fact, they catered two of my other cousins events prior, so they came highly recommended to us. They delivered beyond what we could have asked or imagined. Don't delay, book with Ranch Events today.
