One of my go-to spots when meeting up with friends in South Fremont! I always enjoy what I order here. In addition to yummy food, the staff are helpful and friendly, and I think the portions are good for the price. I always go for the bento boxes personally! They have a large menu with many options, so there is something for everyone! Even if you don't like sushi or raw fish, there are alternative options that other members of your group can have like ramen, chicken teriyaki, etc. It's a great place to get a group of people together - they even have TVs inside so you don't have to miss the big game while out to dinner lol. Not so hidden gem! Was craving sushi and wanted to try this place since we always pass it on our way to Costco and Target. Their Crunchy Asparagus Roll is a winner - love that crispy asparagus. The White Lion roll is also fantastic - fresh fish and avocado with a tasty sauce.And the Tempura Udon? So comforting, especially on a cold day. The vibe is nice and cozy, perfect for a casual meal. I've visited this location a handful of times throughout the years but my last experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I ordered the teriyaki beef bento box and about half of the beef was raw, the other half was reddish pink which seemed okay to eat. (Was not able to take a photo before sending the food back) I showed the waitress the beef and she agreed it looked raw. They made another portion of beef as a replacement which wasn't as red as the first one. I ended up just boxing everything up to go. My boyfriend ordered a chicken katsu bento box and he enjoyed his meal. Everything was cooked well and had great flavor. I've been to this place before and have had great service, it was just this last time that wasn't too great. The beef didn't look cooked all the way in my opinion, but that may be how other people like to eat it. Dropped by for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed every bite. The four of us shared the special bento box which includes beef teriyaki, chicken teriyaki, chicken katsu, tempura, gyoza, nigiri, soup, and salad. We also ordered a lion king roll and a California roll. All the dishes were well-prepared - flavorful and tender. Service was friendly and on point, and the dining room was clean and tidy as well, with the college football final conveniently on TV for us to glance at. When Hubby and I was in the area the weekend prior we were so conflicted on where we wanted to eat. So we decided that since we were there we would eat at a different restaurant and than the next weekend (since we forgot our item that needed to be return to the stores) that we would come back and eat at Little Madfish. We were craving sushi and again it's so hard to find a good sushi place for us that we both enjoy. Once we got in we were seated. Our waiter saw how small our table was and he offered a bigger table that just opened up. We liked that there are soo many different varieties to choose from for the sushi rolls. We got the chicken teriyaki bento box, Blazing Lion King, Lion King, Mango Lobster Roll, and a few other rolls that I cannot remember (since I'm writing this review about a few weeks later lol). Everything was so delicious! I believe our least favorite is the Blazing Lion King, only because we could sort of taste the liquid that was used to make the Blazing Lion King flame up. Couldn't decide whether to give a 3 or 4 because, although the food is average, the price for the proportions was great. All the food included in the images PLUS a salmon teriyaki bento box added up to about $70, which is cheap compared to many other sushi and ramen spots. Taste wise, I really wasn't the biggest fan of their Pork tonkotsu ramen. Meat was super dry and noodles were quite bland. The broth was very average. Sushi rolls were decent. I actually like their spicy tuna as it has a nice kick. However, the orange blossom and golden gate roll were very very similar which we didn't expect. I think the reasonable prices can be attributed to the 20% off deals offered during their happy hour. So, if you want to have decent food that's good for the price, come here during their happy hour (see menu image below). Otherwise, there are much better sushi and ramen places to try. Service is great! Waiters and waitresses care to check up on customers and are friendly. Parking shouldn't be a problem as there's quite a large parking lot in the plaza. read more

Great sushi but service could be better. My party of 3 decided to go to the boba shop next door since we had four parties ahead of us and didn't want to wait in the cold. When you add yourself to the waitlist they ask for your phone number, so we thought they would text us when our table was ready. Wrong. They did not text us, and then after waiting what we felt was too long we went to check and our name had already been crossed off the list. So make sure you sit around and listen for your name. I was there during lunch so I tried out their lunch special bento box combo. It came with steak and chicken teriyaki, salad, soup, Sashimi and vegetable tempura for $18! Really good deal! Food was ok and I ate way too fast so forgot to take a photo of course. Salmon sashimi tasted ok. Didn't taste as fresh as I'd like but not too bad. Tempura was a little on the dark side which I didn't like and tasted like it was fried in old oil. Tempura sauce didn't hide much of the bad flavor either. Salad had a nice dressing on it. Chicken was decent, some good parts and some super dried burnt parts. Steak was really good as it came medium rare. I completely forgot to ask them to cook it medium rare but surprisingly enough it came how I liked it. If you're super hungry and eat a lot, you might need to order something else. I was expecting a hearty good authentic flavor ramen. Disappointed with the broth, it's like the beef bouillon you bought from grocery store. Boil it and add noodles in it. The meat grilled beef is okay. Some veggies added, Okay and a Half hard boiled egg. This is not ramen!! This flavor is like the instant noodles I grew up eating lol. They changed their happy hour menu to 20% off instead of 30% off. Only available Monday to Friday. They also have a patio with outdoor dining that could sit 18 people max. The sushi rolls are really good despite a majority of rolls containing the same ingredients but are just assembled differently. A nice selection nonetheless. Average pricing. The service is always great. I've never ordered to-go and have always eaten there. Gets pretty busy during rush hours pre-covid. Went today and my bf and I were the only ones there. Servers and employees wore masks and gloves. They also did a good job of refilling our drinks and making sure we were satisfied. My bf ordered the udon with tempura. They only give you one tempura shrimp and the rest are veggies with the tempura order. The udon is basic and the broth is sweet and good but taste like something I can make at home. I also don't think their udon noodles are house made. We ordered 5 rolls during happy hour and had enough leftovers to make 2 rolls (always end up over ordering). The leftovers aren't bad either. All in all our meal came out to about $80 with tax and tip. Not bad and we left with a full stomach. The only downside about outdoor dining is a bug flew into my soup. Came here on a rainy day 2 days before New Year's Eve, and on happy hour. I was not at all disappointed! I got the teriyaki chicken and California roll, and to my surprise tempura was included! They have an extensive menu ranging from baked rolls, regular rolls, appetizers, udon, curry, bentos, and much more-- theres always something for everyone when we order from here! The size and quality of the sushi rolls here are pretty good. We prefer hamachi sashimi so that's one of our go-to orders and I've noticed that the freshness of the fish depends on the day you order. Some days, the chef will prepare thicker cuts of fresh fish compared to other days so it can be a little unpredictable, but as a whole the sashimi quality is fairly good! I've found the prices to lean a little more towards the steeper side, but that's to be expected for sushi. The Madfish salad was the best of the three items. I loved the dressing, the spring mix (with a layer of iceberg and slivered carrots underneath), was fresh and crispy, and the avocado buttery. There should be an option to replace the krab with more shrimp. I don't think you should call this crab - it's krab, aka surimi. If you like this fake seafood, you get a huge serving equal to almost two hockey pucks. I took mine off. I ate one piece of the Lion King Jr - just didn't do it for me. Surprisingly dry. The Super Dragon smelled a little too much like old fryer oil, but was the tastier of the two. I was intrigued by the bento boxes. If I ate here again this would be my choice. read more
