disappointed I was so excited to try this place. What a disappointment! I ordered a HOT latte, a glass of rose, ice tea and crème brulee. Not many pastries options and crème brûlée is not fresh! Ice tea is from soda machine and ice machine ran out of ice. Wine glass is dirty. Hot latte was lukewarm, and the person who made my latte made snappy comments "if you want hot latte, you need to say extra hot". What a jerk! Hot is not warm and hot is hot. There are ~10 employees just hanged around the counter and don't seem to know what they are doing. The management needs to train their staffs better. Instead of hire bunch of mediocre employees doing nothing, bring some capable staffs, and may I suggest a good barista. read more

Remember The Palm in Pasadena a few years ago? Well the Manager and Designer has brought his French family recipes from Provence, France to Arcadia - and the food is terrific. When we say fresh food, the meat is cooked onsite - not your everyday sandwich. My wife and I had a sneak peak breakfast today, Friday, April 7, 2023, dress rehearsal before their Monday opening. First off, where to begin? I live in the Old Town Pasadena area, but my workplace is in Arcadia. When this place opened, I was excited! My first time I was there, I had the breakfast sandwich. It was actually pretty good, minus the copious amount of onion. My coffee had half and half in it, which appears to have curdled? Maybe the half and half was past due date or maybe it was the coffee? I don't know. Fast forward to this week, and I notice a few things! -They claim "freshness is our obsession" but I noticed after eating one of their sandwiches the ciabatta bread tasted parbaked. So I am going to assume their bread isn't fresh. -At least FOUR times I have gone for coffee, my half and half seemed a bit funky...so there's that. -I also noticed that some of the reviews here on yelp have faces of people who work there. Is this place REALLY trying to boost it's reputation by having it's coworkers write reviews?! I notice one of their managers, Julie M in fact! I am almost sure that isn't legal, if at the very least shady and unethical. Honestly look elsewhere for a sandwich. This place is not as fresh at it seems, so I imagine a sandwich from ANY shop will be better, like Mendocino Farms or even Subway at that point. Meatloaf sandwich was ok but for $15.00, it was not worth it. It tasted more like an Italian meatball, and I was expecting a good baguette, but it was served on ciabatta. Plus it doesn't come with a single side. I was excited for the Caesar salad, because I love a properly made Caesar dressing with garlicy croutons. However, there's was a bland, vinaigrette more than a Caesar dressing. Croutons were bland as well and the dish could've been executed better, overall. The croissant was not crispy or buttery, it was just a mass-produced croissant. I came in with very high expectations overall comparing everything to my Francophilic tastes, it's a blessing and a curse. It's a really charming place, great coffee, I'm a big Illy fan. The food at Little Provence is very nice but the service was not great. Don't read the blackboard menu, make sure you read the paper menu, as they don't match. (I wanted a demi Nicoise salad, as the big menu offered, but that was not available. My husband asked for his roast beef sandwich dry, and it came dripping in balsamic. It was still tasty, but not what he wanted. The food took a while to come, but they did apologize for that and offered us a pastry, which we declined but did appreciate the offer. My nicoise was good but it's not traditional (there were no potatoes or green beans). We will try it again, as it's a nice addition to S. Baldwin, but maybe not on a holiday weekend. read more

This is one of the only sit-down cafes in the area with outdoor and patio seating. The atmosphere is lovely and it's great they offer beer and wine in the afternoon/evenings. I'm vegan and they do have options and hope they continue to offer more! My only complaint is they need to get better espresso than Illy (Plenty of good local roasters to choose from in greater SoCal from - Copa Vida, Rose Park, or you could go with quality regional roasters like Verve, Sightglass, or Stumptown). Also not sure if it is the machine or they need barista training but the pulls don't taste good, the milk is too hot, and the foam/pours are not like modern coffee shops and more like the overly foamy 90s coffee shop style. There's really only Starbucks nearby (yuck) so if you had good new-wave coffee I'm sure you'd be the preferred alternative in the area. read more

Little Province is a quant little place smack dab in the middle of Arcadia. One can even call it a hidden gem that sits right on the corner of South Baldwin. The decor of this place is straight out of a French movie everything from the display cases to the table set up will remind of France. Little Province has a wide variety of menu items but from what I could tell they specialize in sandwiches and breakfast. I was greeted promptly by what may have been the owner or at least the manager who was really sweet and patient. The menu was so extensive I couldn't really figure out what I wanted so she (manager) told me to take my time. Once I figure out what I wanted another young lady took my order. She wasn't as friendly as the First Lady but I just chalked it up to them being busy. I ordered an omelet with grilled chicken, spinach, mushroom and Swiss w/ Keto coffee. The keto coffee came out first it was piping hot which the server warned me it would be, the flavor was strong but not too strong and very creamy from the butter I'm assuming. Next I received my omelet with some of their house made hot sauce/ tapenade. The omelet was a hit by its self but that sauce set it off. Everything I got from Province was delicious. The only reason I'm not giving this place 5 stars is because of the lady who took my order. Her attitude could've been a little better it was dry and damn yer robotic. Chocolate croissant was soft and chewy not sure if it was made same day but not worth $5.46, but not saying it wouldn't taste good if it was fresh, it has potential but felt it was not fresh and the pesto panini tasted ok but had one side of the sandwich with burnt cheese and bread on the corner; not the good kind of burnt. There was only 1 line so had to wait for a pick up order that was done through their website. They have a grub hub pick up area but it didn't say for other online pick orders. Also it's good to have someone who can speak chinese. What if someone who doesn't speak English too well ? Can anybody really help? Very family with Asian cultures ? Have to remember majority of customers will be Asians due to the area. So it's important to understand Asian cultures. Certainly language. I save time those who are thinking coming here. I've been to Little Provence twice in the last two weeks. It's a cute and quaint sandwich shop. The ambiance is relaxing and decor has nice touches. It does not feel like you're in Arcadia! Sandwiches are tasty and fresh. I shared the Turkey, pesto panini, salmon sandwiches and a Caesar salad with 3 of my friends. We also had the crème brûlée and chocolate cake. Both were delicious. The owner came up to our tables both times and was very friendly and attentive. Thanked us for coming and checked in to see if we enjoyed our food. Had the roast beef, pork loin and roasted turkey sandwich. All were great. Pork loin sandwich sauce had a kick to it. Love the pesto sauce on the roasted turkey sandwich. Croissant need that flaky crust :( . As we we're leaving I looked at all the stuff inside they had crusty baguette for sale that you know were baked today just by touching them.
