Straordinariamente grande italiano! Bravo! The Burrata di Andria is perhaps the best Italian dish I've ever had, including Italy and Chicago! A Mozzarella skin surrounding a sweet, light, ricotta-like cheese, with perfectly roasted peach and a delicious saba (grape) rendition. And the ciabatta is crispy and perfect. Totally a unique and wonderful combination of flavors! A perfect first course, leaving you wanting more. The service was slow but very friendly and kind. Do not come here if you are in a rush and just want a quick bite. Come here to digest slowly and have an amazing meal. I can't predict the future, including luck or business acumen. But I am an ass with high standards, not easily impressed: and the food here is a cut above anything I have had in multiple fine Italian restaurants through the world. Shout out to Little Sage Restaurant! Our first time here: the food was superb: we ate cassarecce, campenelle, bucatini, and monkfish. Do not miss the basil panna cotta dessert! The most outstanding aspect of tonight's dinner, however, was how our waiter, Kaylie, worked with the chef to accommodate my food allergies. (It wasn't easy.) They went to great lengths to make sure I had a fabulous meal, and considered it a wonderful challenge instead of a major inconvenience. I can't speak highly enough of this restaurant. Booked a table specifically for the cozy, intimate dining room but was seated in the bar instead which was loud, crowded, and completely different from what we reserved. When we asked to be moved, we were told it would be another 40 minutes past our reservation time to actually sit where we'd booked. Pretty disappointing experience. Last day of my work visit to Boston so thought I'd walk the North End to see this cool Italian historical area. This was the most Italian restaurants I've ever seen within a couple of blocks. I don't know one from the other. I happened upon this small, unassuming little gem, brightly lit and caszhy. Thought this is as good a place as anywhere. Ordered some flatbread and the gnocchi with lobster. O.M.G. most amazing dish I've had in a long time!!! Chunks of lobster and gnocchi in the most tasty bisque-ish sauce. The flavor was incredible. I mean, shockingly good. Ate the whole thing in record time, using the tasty flatbread to soak up the last bit of sauce clinging to the side of the bowl. Our waiter was busy, but friendly and attentive. Can't wait to return to Little Sage on my next visit to Boston and get my new favorite dish! read more

We started with the Spanish octopus which was the most tender and delicious octopus I've ever had and then moved on to a butternut squash pasta in a brown butter sage sauce followed by the brick oven chicken. I never write reviews but this was so unnecessarily awful! The grossest food I had in Boston! The pasta was overcooked the steak was tough and old tasting only seasoned with smoke flavoring. Disgusting! We couldn't even eat it! Even though the food was gross and even the waitress saw it she didn't offer to bring other food. All the tables around us ate their food like it was sorta disappointing and even said so. Don't go here! It's overpriced and awful! Waited 1 hour for our order just to have a (new) waiter come and tell us that they did not have our order bc the other waiter went on a break and did not relay our order to anyone. Apparently they try tried calling the guy but he didn't pick up. So rather than asking us, they decided to wait for a full hour before saying a word. Also mentioned that this was our anniversary dinner. The chef wasn't even in the kitchen. He looked like he was meandering around and all tables were waiting for ages. read more

Incredible food and service! We had the fazoletti pasta, the lobster bucatini, the Spanish octopus, and the shrimp and everything was perfect. The seafood was especially well prepared. Our drinks were all great, and our server Michael was fabulous. His food suggestions were all great and he was so nice. everyone was attentive without hovering, and everything was well paced - we never felt like there was a long wait for any of the food or drinks, but we also didn't feel rushed out. We had a 5pm reservation. We checked in at 5 and were told it would be 10 more minutes. We could take a walk or get a drink at their place next door with a bar. We took a walk and checked in at 510. Again we were told the people at our table had paid they were just waiting for them to leave. We stood and waited for 10 minutes. Larger parties were sat. After looking at the hostess she motioned to a table at the window. I turned around not really happy. The table we were waiting for had a full glass of wine 10 minutes prior. At this point it was 20 minutes after our reservation. Two minutes later the hostess comes over and says All Set. She then walked us into their place next door that's a bar and sat us. Clearly not the table we were going to get. Didn't ask if we wanted to sit somewhere else. I am not even sure if they sat is at the restaurant or somewhere else they own. They didn't offer us anything. We got up and left. read more

absolutely killer food and super reasonably priced. north end is super hit or miss and oftentimes crazy pricy for a miss- this spot is far from that. the food is very good, the bartenders are friendly, the ambiance leaves a bit to be desired but it's inoffensive it just needs a little more oomf. 100% will be back! read more
