I am a vegan and the food choices were nonexistent...what i did find and try was terrible. My carnivore friend was equally unimpressed. Such a bummer because it's so close to my workplace and home. But neither of us will be going back. Hip cool interior terrible food. read more

We have loved Little Star since they opened, we enjoyed going there at least twice a month, generally for Saturday or Sunday mornings. Every single visit has been amazing, knowing we are eating farm-fresh ingredients locally sourced, was one of the main reasons supported this little spice of life. We thought we'd give them a try last night since they are no longer doing morning/afternoon hours. Definitely a different vibe. Slow service isn't such a bother, but we were disappointed with the price of the portion, the portions seem smaller, than their Breakfast/lunch menu. The space is hip and the food is fine, but the prices are outrageous for the tiny portions. Apparently, if you have subway tile in the bathroom and your servers wear trendy half-aprons, you can charge whatever you want! I ordered the frittata, which was a very thin layer of eggs (about the size of a single crepe), and added the biscuits on the side. The "biscuits" were two tiny squares that were reminiscent of puff pastry. The whole deal, along with my coffee, was $17, and I was not remotely satisfied or full at the end of it. This place exemplifies new Bozeman: trendy, expensive, and could have been picked up from Portland, Oregon and plunked down in Montana. read more

Called 45 mintues prior for res, waited clise to an hour after arriving finally seated waited 20 minutes for ordering coffee, food arrived very over priced for mediocre food, ie $3.00 for side of bacon = 1 slice overdone, great coffee, would absolutely not recommend. read more

I went with two friends and we shared three breakfast specials - the eggs benedict, the waffle, and the creme fraiche donuts. The eggs benedict substituted butternut squash for the Canadian bacon or ham, and was topped with sage hollandaise sauce. We had bacon on the side. The creme fraiche donuts were served with housemade apple sauce, and they were delicious. They were moist with a crispy exterior. The waffle was served with plum sauce, which was beautiful and tasty. It was not overly sweet so you could actually taste the plums. The interior is open and airy with beautiful black walnut tables and very comfortable chairs. read more

Little Star is pure perfection. Everything in this place is homemade and comes from local farmers. The eggs Benedict is the best you'll ever have. I literally cannot eat anywhere else. In addition to the amazing food, the staff is friendly and attentive and you can tell everyone is passionate about food and quality. If you want bland, greasy Sysco food on a platter, look elsewhere. read more

The menu was diverse and every single thing was amazing. I'm a huge fan of the food! Falafel dish is great. The grain bowl is very good. It's a wonderful breakfast/brunch/brunch spot. They make everything, including their own almond milk. There is an outdoor seating area on the roof which is charming. I tell everyone I encounter from out of town to go there. There are some kinks with the service,but if you are not in a hurry and can relax and enjoy the decor (handmade furniture),it's just terrific. read more

Visited on the recommendation of a local foodie friend. Started off well as folks were welcoming and I was seated quickly. The space is pretty comfortable and welcoming with clean restrooms. It went down hill from there. After getting coffee (classic light roast hipster style, which I am not in to) I could not get my server to stop at my table after multiple tries. Eventually I was able to get another server to take my order for the doughnuts. They arrived and were essentially flavorless. The grilled pork chop I ordered for my meal was un-seasoned and tasted anything but fresh. I had to ask for salt and pepper, which was not on the table. When they arrived the salt looked and tasted like Morton's - not a good sign for a place that is food-focused. We were never offered any hot sauce or other condiments. The rest of my party said their food was 'pretty good'. Sorry, I just can't recommend Little Start Diner. read more

This is a really good place to get breakfast. Super clean and fresh tasting food that will have you leaving feeling full but good. Also the drip coffee was real nice. I also appreciated how hard working everyone in the kitchen area was. read more

This place feels a bit undiscovered in terms of how good the food is and that there are often long waits for breakfast / brunch at Main Street places while Little Star often has space available. Bottom line is that the food is really delicious and the setting is great. read more

My husband and I just had an amazing lunch at Little Star. The braised chicken salad was absolutely delicious as was the pork sandwich. We also had the Shishito peppers - a new menu item - they were charred perfectly and were delicious! Service was very quick and attentive - even though we were up on the roof terrace, our waiter never made us wait for anything, checking on us frequently. The roof was wonderful - it had a great shade "sail" and most of the tables were in the shaded area - a good thing since it was 95 degrees out! We loved the building interior - very cool and chic - someone put a lot of attention to this restaurant! read more

I love this new little spot. Been here twice so far, and really enjoy the food and atmosphere. Food: Had the fried egg sandwich with bacon and the grain bowl. Toast on the sandwich was a little burned (especially around the edges), but the egg was perfectly fried with a runny orange yolk, smothered in melted cheese, and the bacon was crispy, done just how I like it. Came with mixed greens which were perfectly dressed. Grain bowl was wonderful, filling and a great balance of flavors and textures. Girlfriend had the eggs benedict with sausage the first time and the cuban the second. Eggs bene was really good, best I've had in town so far (don't be afraid to ask for more hollandaise). Could tell the sausage was locally made, freshly ground and great flavor. Eggs perfect, biscuit a little tough, squash sweet. Cuban was wonderful, great bread, meat and tang from the mustard and onions. Fries came with a spicy aioli that was delish. Was a little pricey, but you can tell this place truly buys local and organic ingredients. Servers were friendly and accommodating. Super willing to substitute and bring extra sauces or hot sauce. All-in-all, great experience and we'll be sure to come back! read more

I adore this spot in Bozeman. I find that I am continuously disappointed in restaurants in town, but the Little Star Diner really impresses me. The space is gorgeous, and eating there is a relaxing, modern breakfast and brunch experience. The menu is relatively small and intentional, with options for any appetite. Everything I have tasted is delicious, and I am always excited to return again after I finish my meal. read more

What an amazing feat the Little Star Diner accomplishes with their presentation of the dishes they serve to salivating patrons. We chose to sit at the beautiful walnut counter so we could observe the choreographed dance of the cooks while preparing our food. We marveled with full knowledge that not only were we watching clever and thoughtful meals being prepared for the dining room right then but the "homework" that was needed for this wonderful food to manifest to reality. Disappointed. As we were being seated by the large glass garage door, I requested to be placed at one of the other two open two-top tables, as the seats by the glass wall were very obviously cold and actually breezy. The hosted said we couldn't have the other tables as they were about to be used for combining for larger tables, which they did for one but proceeded to seat another party of 2 at the other within 5 minutes of us sitting down. There was also an additional two-top that opened up before we got our food and remained open for the duration of our time there, yet we were not offered to move despite both our hostess and server being aware we did not want to be sitting were we were and our obvious discomfort dining in our winter outerwear. I run hot and yet I still had to have my puffy jacket on the whole breakfast and was still cold (it was only 50 degrees outside--can't imagine what this will feel like when it is 15 degrees out). Noticed other tables by the windows also still in their puffy jackets and hats! This very uncomfortable seating overshadowed the quality of the food & coffee (which btw got cold quickly sitting in the cold breezeway). Not at all what I had in mind when thinking of going out for a hot breakfast. read more
