Poor Diagnostics & Customer Service We brought our Alfa Romeo Stelvio to this dealership after several warning lights came on. They charged me $300 for diagnostics and told me the battery was bad and needed to be replaced. This didn't make sense because the battery was installed by AAA about a year ago. To be sure, I called AAA. They performed a full check and confirmed the battery was perfectly fine. Despite this, the dealership insisted their equipment was "better" and continued to claim the battery was bad, without performing the basic tests (charge, load, and reserve capacity tests) any competent mechanic would do. I then took the car to another independent mechanic. He confirmed that the battery was 100% healthy and instead diagnosed an issue with the BCM, which he repaired. I contacted the dealership again to request a refund given the incorrect and incomplete diagnostics, but they refused. Overall, I paid $300 for a completely wrong diagnosis and wasted time dealing with an issue they failed to identify. I would not recommend this service department. read more

This is a review for the service department. In summer of 2024, I called the Service Department and spoke to Kenny, the Alfa Romeo Service Advisor. I advised that my front brakes and steering column aggressively shake under braking (2023 vehicle with 3,000 miles). Kenny advised this was normal and should not be concerned. Fast forward to September 2024. I scheduled a recall and oil change appointment for late November. I was advised the appointment would take 2-2.5 hours. I arrived at my scheduled time of 8:30 a.m. My vehicle was not taken into service until 11:15 a.m. My car was not ready until 1:45 - 2:00 p.m. This wait time was unacceptable considering I made an early morning appointment almost 3 months in advance. During the appointment, I advised Service Advisor Kenny of the brake issue. He stated the technician would take a look. I was informed that the front rotors had heat spots (Now with 5,300 miles on the odometer. Kenny stated he would submit a claim to Alfa Star the following week. After one week, I emailed Kenny. Kenny did not respond. I filed a complaint with Alfa Romeo of North America who had trouble getting int touch with Kenny. Come to find out, Kenny lied and did not submit the claim to Alfa Star because it was a normal wear and tear issue outside of warranty. I escalated the issue with the president and members of the Gill Auto Group leadership team. I was contacted by the manager of the service department. He stated that because the car was outside the 1-year warranty, the issue would not rectified. However, he failed to acknowledge that their own service advisor, Kenny, stated what I was experiencing was normal, which was during the warranty period. If Kenny had advised to bring in the vehicle, I would have done so within the one year warranty period. This is not a warranty issue, but an issue with Kenny providing false information over the phone that in this instance, is a serious safety concern. A competent leader would fix the root cause of the issue and not find an excuse to not fix it. I am dissatisfied with the dealer and would not recommend anyone getting their Alfa Romeo or Maserati serviced at this location. Because of Kenny's lack of knowledge about my brakes, the dealer should have done the right thing to have them replaced. read more

In summary over promised and under delivered by a complete amateur circus. Brought my Alfa Romeo in for a simple recall. Was quoted 2 hrs. After waiting there and checking in multiple times with the advisor, I was finally told 4 hours later that my car was ready. Only it wasn't my car. The tech got cars mixed up and mine was parked in the far back somewhere this whole time. They essentially lost my car. I was rudely told by some lead mechanic that i could not be back where they have the cars when I went looking for my car since the service department had no clue where it was. Spent another hour waiting for them to rush the recall work. Waste of a whole day. In 50 years hands down the worst auto experience I've had. Expected a lot from a service department especially working on high end cars. read more

I have a 2024 Alfa Romeo Tonali and a 2021 Giuglia. Alfa Romeo of Livermore is my favorite in the region. Vernon and Kenny are awesome!! The service is faster than other spots in the region. Vernon was able to fit me in for the appt (I live out of area) and had the car ready and washed on time. Great experience! Vernon was amazing! From day one he communicated with me in regards to the progress on the car. Very easy to work with, easy to talk to and did an amazing job with my car. Had an appointment to see a Giulia veloce, walked in right as they sold it, drove over an hour from San jose...no courtesy call, no reserved for my "appointment " unprofessional, don't bother making an appointment to see a specific car, they don't care. Literally the worse service I have ever had from a dealer. My car has been with them for 6 months unable to be repaired, I have heard every store under the sun and none of it ever matches the previous, zero reason my car can't be repaired or if it can't be repaired they should be working with the manufacturer to buy back the vehicle ( I did not buy vehicle from this dealership to be fair). Could not be more disappointed with the service I have received. On top of that this is the 3rd time at this dealer for same issue which previous "fixes" lasted a few months before problems came back! If there was a 0 star option it would be that! read more

The plugin hybrid has intrigued me but I haven't seen anything that caught my eye. Then I saw the Tonale. After ample research, I reached out the dealer. By end of day, I got call from Michele. She was so helpful to refine my search and no pressure. By that week, she found the one and provided a quote. I made an appointment with full disclosure that I'm looking. I live 3 hrs from the dealership. When I arrived, I was greeted by George (Sales Manager) and Michele. Fast forward, when I saw the car, it was the one. Michele and George were exceptional. Purchasing is stressful and they made it a pleasant and hospitable affair. I give them 15 out of 5 stars. Michele and George were professional and knowledgeable of the product, and responsive to my questions. As for car, OMG. EXCEEDED ALL EXPECTATIONS. I'm a former BMW guy. This car handles and performs better than the X3 and my previous M3. The tech and luxury is awesome. Alfa Romeo is now my go to car. If you're considering a luxury car, search no more. I recently relocated from out of state and was worried I was not going to get the high quality service I was use to (San Jose location is a score of 0 btw- I'll drive the distance for this service). I went with my husband to get his Giulia serviced. Service was prompt, and it was done when they said it was going to be done. While we were there, we looked at Tonales for me. Myles and George were great. They answered all our questions and weren't high-pressure at all. We decided to buy one that day. Fast forward a couple of days later. Something weird was happening with my media system. I texted George the sales manager about it, and he called me back very soon after. The worst dealership ever visited in my life. It was a nightmare dealing with them. It took five times to resign the lease agreement before I thought it was over and then today I learned that they never sent my registration to the DMV. I leased the car on 12/23/2023. Their customer service is the worst, their knowledge is the worst, especially their finance department. They do not know how to fill a contract. Salespeople will throw you under the bus once you sign the lease. And if I did not insist on getting a copy of my lease before leaving, I would have been in bigger trouble. They all said we will email you the whole package, I refused to drive off the lot without a copy of the lease in my hands. I followed the salesperson who is also the sales Manager of the Alfa Romeo/Maseratti dealership from another dealership and what a disaster. He was amazing when he was at the other dealership. I lease two cars from him at the other dealership. I am writing this review because I do not want you to go through the nightmare I went through. If I could help it, I would not even put one star. To have to go 6 times back to resign a contract is not acceptable at all. They blamed it on Lease company software , but I know for sure it is not the only reason. Absolute nightmare dealing with the finance department. Worst communication I have ever encountered. I purchased a Alfa Romeo on June 7th, 2023. I added a extended warranty to my car, ($5,173) and was told, I could simply cancel the extended warranty if I found a better deal. I was told I would just fill out a simple cancellation form if needed. Two days later, I found an extended warranty (Half the price, better plan). During the next three weeks, I left multiple messages, called multiple times, No one would call me back or simply send me the cancellation form. I finally got ahold of someone after about 16 calls. I was told I would have to travel back to Livermore (about three hours) so he could ensure I was the correct owner of the car. After some arguing, he simply emailed the form- yes it could have been that easy. The cancellation form was signed June 30th. I received my check on 10-27-23. To keep the review somewhat short I had to call multiple times as the originating Extended Warranty company- (Axiom) stated they had sent the check to Livermore Automotive where a manager would have to sign/authorize the check. I will NEVER buy anything form this dealership. Communication is a joke, they never answer phone calls or return calls. The simplest transactions are made difficult by pathetic employees. I had previously bought a Lexus form Fresno Lexus and the level of professionalism is night and day from this dealership. Fresno Lexus should be given 100 stars compared to this dealership. On a good note, I did receive a call from a manager, Timothy Schack, (Very professional) who was apologetic about the Finance department. Near the end of my ordeal, I spoke to a new employee of the finance department who told me he was hired to overhaul the finance department, he was great- cant remember his name. He directed me to Kathy Guerra who completed the transaction and she was quick to respond to all questions and emails. At the end of the day, I encountered some good employees but after reviewing other complaints of the same issues, this is a reoccurring problem. I will never return to this dealership. read more

Just the... Worst... I mean Worst service... Unbelievably bad. No one answers the phone, no one calls you back. You will not get your car back on time.. I don't mean its late by a hour or two. I mean days! The car will stay at the dealership and you will have a extremely difficult time getting your car back. They tell you the car is ready, you show up, its not ready.. finally had to get them to deliver the car the next day... To make it worse, you get the car back after almost 10days at the dealership for something that should at most take 2-3 days, and it still has the same issues you dropped off the car for... You contact them afterwards, and all you get is silence. Considering it's a "Luxury" brand, the best they can offer is 30$ a day rental car... Seriously, avoid this place like the plague. Came in for a service for my Giulia and he originally tried to quote over $3k LMAO he played this horrendous salesmanship bit and tried to pretend to be my friend and that he'll give me a friends and family discount and not to tell anymore. My first and probably last visit to this dealership was handled rather poorly. I had made arrangements with one of the inventory specialists, named Daniel who assured me via email and text that he would be available to test drive an Alfa Stelvio, then went ahead and made an appointment with a time and date. Upon my arrival (mind you, I just had turned in my previous lease so I had a friend drive me there from San Jose out of his time) the specialist said there were no Stelvios to be test driven, or pretty much any Alfa. He came up with some made up excuse that they were probably all sold out (which I find hard to believe) but what I do not understand is why did he waste my time, and that of my friend for a car which clearly did not exist or was no longer available? Again, before I showed up there was some email/text exchange to make an appointment a few days prior for that day to ensure the car I was interested was still available. I was not being picky -- I even asked him if ANY Stelvio could be Test driven. Needless to say i went ahead and purchased another brand somewhere else. read more

Made an appointment to test drive a car with salesman Bill. Asked to have the car (specified by VIN) ready to drive. Upon arrival we were accused of not making an appointment. Bill then sloughed us off on a salesman who walked all over the lot looking for the wrong model of car that we didn't want to drive. Eventually Bill came out to apologize for not pulling the car out in advance of our visit. The car was buried deep in the lot, we waited 15 minutes for the car and once they gave it to us to test drive it has less than ten miles of gas in the tank. We drove to the nearest gas station and put two gallons in it and went for a nice drive. I would never buy a car here. What a total clown show. I own a newer Alpha Romeo that needs servicing, so when I called my local dealership for service in Livermore, I get literally NOTHING. Just last week, I called multiple times during a 2 day period. Nobody ever answers the phone, at all. I left multiple voicemail/messages with the service department and not a single call back. I then filled out the online contact request. Still nothing. How is this business still operating? So who's to blame? The owner of the dealership needs to clean house and hire a staff that will provide Alpha owners with the service they deserve. If you're planning on purchasing an Alpha Romeo from these guys, think twice. You won't get the treatment you're expecting from owning an expensive car. Ultimately, you'll need to drive an hour away to a reputable dealership for repairs, which is very dissatisfying to say the least. read more

We recently purchased our second Alfa Romeo from Livermore Alfa Romeo/Maserati as well as turned in our lease. We can't stress enough of what an easy, enjoyable and positive experience we had. This was attributable to the outstanding employees who worked with us. Michelle Flores assisted us initially on a few occasions and always put our shopping anxieties at ease. She is extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and went over and beyond to assist us with our many questions. She was genuine, patient and honest. We also worked with Sales Manager George Dieck who was not only extremely forthright, but as an Alfa Romeo owner himself he was of the upmost help in providing us a variety of information related to his own experiences. Michael in Finance knew his job! He spent extra time with us to help us determine our options, and didn't pressure us to make an immediate decision on those options. We have dealt with virtually every dealership in our area, but this one and our experience stands out as top-notch. Ultimately, I'd say the proof is in their results. Four years ago, we owned the only Alfa Romeo in Turlock, but now we regularly see them around town, and as the closest dealership to us by far, I can only imagine that has a lot to do with your team at Livermore Alfa Rome/Maserati. This is a response to the impeccable, follow-through by Bobby, the service tech at Alfa Romeo. I had Bobby do a thorough pre-purchase inspection. At the time, he even recommended possibly holding off given that the vehicle, a 2017 Alfa QV, was still a warranty. This was my first cue to trust him and his team. I purchased the vehicle and am very happy with it; two weeks ago, a got the dreaded CEL, a radiator leak had been found. The worst communication I've experienced. My car has been in the shop for over 3 weeks. Service advisers do not call you or respond with updates as they say they will. Every time you call them they are away from their desks. The way they troubleshoot with the manufacturer is a joke. The mechanics are incompetent with these vehicles so they have to contact the manufacturer and wait 3-4 days for each step to troubleshoot. What a joke of procedure and it wouldn't be so bad if they just kept their customers in the loop but they do not prioritize or value communication. read more

I'm so disappointed to be writing this review as I'm in the business of supporting business owners and I know how critical a negative review can be. That being said, I feel I have to share my experience on the incredibly unethical scenario that unfolded at Alfa. I have been looking for a replacement SUV for my family and decided upon Alfa as the way to go. While initially planning on purchasing a new Tonale, I ended up falling for a used Stelvia they had on site. What had been a helpful experience became even more so when the sales support, Michelle, went to collect a price to purchase on the SUV. I took both spec sheets provided with no negotiation as the price was very fair. The next day after a few follow up questions I went in to purchase the SUV and this is when everything went wrong. The individual who had provided the quote was the one going through the paperwork. After a while we were taken next door to the Finance Managers office (again, no financing being required just paying cash for the vehicle). They ran through the paperwork fairly fast (which I appreciate) but then threw down a paper with a signing on taking the car as is that had an inaccurate price on. over $5,000 higher than the price they'd provided. I slowed down on that page and alerted the finance manager that this was not accurate, producing the piece of paper - with their logo - that they'd provided the night prior. He angrily said that was my paper and stormed off to talk with George in Sales. Shortly later they both came back and said it was an error; that they could not lose $12,000 on a car and when I stated the obvious (I hadn't asked for that price and that they'd produced the pricing with no input from me) the finance manager simply said "Well that was yesterday". Obviously we walked. Who wouldn't. But it's more than a little heartbreaking to imagine this type of unethical behavior and "bait and switch" mentality with a dealership that has the privilege of being tied to the Alfa/Maserati brand. For what it's worth, Stevens Creek Alfa has an exceptionally high rating - as does Marin - so I'm hoping that for other people who are thinking of investing in the brand, they aim to get a better experience elsewhere. Aside from Cameron, who was undoubtedly kind to my small children who sat through this waste of a weekend with us, the rest of the Alfa Livermore team should be ashamed. Save your hard earned money friends and go to a dealership that is reputable. read more

I recently brought my 2019 Alfa Gulia in for service/warranty repairs and let me just say that I have never had such a great experience. It's a shame that the other two closer locations to me in Walnut Creek and Berkeley couldn't take care of me like Livermore Alfa did! I owe my great experience to Bobbie Wetterau. Honestly Bobbie, you did great and your communication was excellent throughout the process. I'm still amazed how you sourced and installed those parts from Italy in such a speedy time frame given the current global shipping circumstances. I couldn't recommend you enough! No one likes having to take time out of their day to have their car serviced as it is and all the upselling and anxiety inducing service advisors don't help. The worst never go here brought my alfa for a check engine light and the gas tank would not fill properly and some software updates they kept it for almost a week with out contacting me until I had to contact them they couldn't find anything on the check engine light and also about the gas tank told me they drove it to a gas station and confirmed that it did what I told them it did which they wanted me to pay $250 for doing nothing then they had the audacity to tell me I needed to pay another $750 for them to actually diagnose the gas tank problem plus $250 for a diagnostic and also $250 to check if I needed any software updates that would have shown up in the diagnostic but they chose to charge me separately then also charged me another $250 to actually do the software updates So after all this I go to pick up my car and when I'm leaving I see that obviously my car was sitting in the sun baking for this week because the leather on the dashboard is starting to bubble up and last one of their employees left 1 of their dirty face masks on the side of the passenger seat of my car when obviously they were joy riding my car around read more

The worst customer service ever......I called in at 10am on Sunday to make sure that they would have the 2019 Maserati Ghibli in stock and I was told that it was in stock. My wife and I drive for an hour and half to Livermore just to let us know that the car was trade (apparently). First, they tell us "oh, all the Maserati workers called in sick today" then "we cannot show you the car because we got locked out of the dealership" and then " i can show you another car that drives the same". We were ready to purchase the car but they messed up. read more

I purchased a 2020 Stelvio from that dealership in June, the customer service was mediocre at best. It was late and i did not do a great walk around. Next day I noticed the paint peeling off the wheels, this took about three months to resolve after reporting to the regional manager. About three weeks ago while inspecting the engine compartment I noticed the engine cover is missing, i called Alpha Romeo to see about getting a replacement. I was told that Livermore will get in touch with me about that. I called Alpha customer service today since I haven't heard from Livermore to find out my claim was rejected. There was supposedly an inspection done that showed all parts were installed, the same vehicle that had four wheels with paint peeling and unpainted surfaces. Never again would I take my Alfa to these clowns. They were rude and incompetent. Gauge cluster went out while car was at their place for an oil change and then they tried to blame it on me. Well it was under warranty so I didn't sweat it too much. But it took them like 3 weeks before they even ordered the cluster. The service check-in guy was new and kept making excuses and the service manager was no help and very rude. So I went an entire month with no gauges that included fuel, speedometer, tach, cruise control, remote start, blinkers, center info screen, there are just numerous things that cease to work when the instrument cluster goes out. Their mechanic is also just as incompetent, they have the standard checklist when they are done and I went in initially for an oil change. There are many items on the checklist like brakes, air filter, belts and alike. I even specifically asked the service guy Ed before I left about the air filter and he showed me on the checklist that it was fine. While waiting for the cluster and countless phone calls and they never return any calls, I spoke with Ed many times and he said I will call you back well like I said they are all incompetent. So I got to the point where I felt I could not trust these people or their work. So I decided to check the air filter myself and low and behold it was filthy and under the air filter in the compartment was bugs, leaves, and even a dragon fly. So they never even checked the air filter, that was obvious, just checked it off the list. Well I called to tell them about the air filter they got mad at me for complaining, instead of thanking me for alerting them to their mechanics shoddy work. I did finally get the cluster repaired, but never again with these guys. One and Done. read more

If zero was an option that would be the rating I would give. We called the dealership to make sure the Maserati we were looking for was on site. The manager checked the stock and confirmed that it was. We then drove over an hour and a half to by the car. When we arrived the ford workers attempted to help and and AJ ( the person we had the appointment with) was a no show. They told us the car we wanted was locked up in the back and that we couldn't see it but that we cold see it the next day. He went on that he can show a different car that's the exact same for us to see how it drive. I already own a Maserati and wasn't too interested in test driving a different car that I'm not interested in. Once we came back inside the dealership the guy sat us down and said that AJ will be with us soon. After 15-20 min he comes back and says "I have bad news" the car is not here and was traded this morning. After we called his bullshit, he tried to sell us the car that he originally showed us. We walked out pisses off and telling the worker they need to learn how to do better business. DO NOT GO HERE. They are all very sketchy! read more
