Just had dinner here for the first time as dine in since pre covid... and won't be back (used to come monthly). Menu is much reduced compared to what it used to be (no steak selection and they took the best thing off the menu, the French onion soup) and no longer had a happy hour. Food was good but certainly didn't feel like a 200 dollar dinner for three people and a kids meal (which we didn't even recieve the dessert it came with) when you only order 2 drinks (the 2 extra hidden fees certainly didn't help). Best. Brunch. Ever. I had the eggs Benedict Oscar style and was in complete heaven. The mimosas were perfection. They bring the champagne in one glass and you can add your own juice at your leisure. I was so excited to give this place a try! I went with 2 friends, we arrive and no seats in the dining room since they had too many reservations but there was a table open in the bar so no problem. One of the bartenders was supposed to be our server. She came over 3 times in over 3 hours. I ordered my first appetizer which was ricotta cheese and fruit. That first order was no issue. She finally comes back to refill mimosas and take our second order..I also ordered a water with my second app and neither showed. She came back over an hour later apologizing because she was busy. I told her no problem but I'm not paying the $32 for the unlimited apps when I got literal cheese and fruit and that's it. (They were closing soon at this point) Told her however I will pay for the drinks no problem. she legit goes "well I have to charge you for the food" WHAT FOOD lol I ordered one app on a menu that's supposed to be unlimited? I didn't want to argue with her. She asked what I wanted as an entree because "I had to order one"...I really just wanted to leave. But like I said I didn't want to argue so I asked if I could have my entree and my second app to go since I never received it. She proceeds to tell us they have run out of what I ordered for a second app over an hour ago. I wanted to just get my entree and leave at this point and of course she delivers it on a plate and I have to remind her I asked togo. I truly wouldn't have cared if i was discounted the food. Tasty meal and nice atmosphere. We made a reservation on Open Table and were seated right away. The menu was great and accurate of what was on the website. I ordered the arugula salad with salmon and asked for the salmon to be cooked through, and it was. Very flavorful and hearty. I also ordered the side of the lemon parm broccolini which was also good. The bread and herb butter as a starter was so delicious that we asked for seconds! The bread had a nice saltiness to it and the butter was herby and delish. Everyone else in my party enjoyed what they ordered, like the mushroom risotto and the mushroom pizza. The one major issue I had was with our waiter. I will say that he was rude to our table once it was clear that we were not ordering alcohol. We were as polite as we could possibly be and still we felt overlooked and ignored. I have been to Local Bistro a few times for work with a large group. It's definitely a good choice - they've been able to handle the larger group sizes very well. The servers have been attentive and dinner hasn't take too long, despite the large orders. We always start with a variety of appetizers. I like the tuna tartare/poke dish and the beets. For entrees I've tried a few of the fish entrees and seafood pastas. All have been pretty good though they can get fairly heavy. My coworkers have also enjoyed their various steak options. Drinks are good too - they have pretty good cocktail menu and wine list. The only thing I think they could do better on is the dessert. We really liked the donuts when they had them, but haven't been big fans of the tiramisu and other options. read more

It doesn't matter if you enjoy the meal or not bc it will be ruined at the end when you realize they tack on a surcharge of 4% of your bill. We questioned the server who simply said it was because of the minimum wage hike in prop 206. First of all, not disclosing this initially is FRAUD. Second of all are the seriously even giving it back to the employees. Doubtful. The food was not bad at all but the prices were pretty steep to begin with and now to slide in a fraudulent dishonest charge on the end of your bill assuming people won't notice doesn't sit well with me. We just had dinner at the Local Bistro and I sorry to say one of the worst meals we ever had. We had ordered several dishes- wild mushroon ravioli- we only got 4 pieces for price of $26. They were cold and instead of making another dish, the waiter put it in the microwave, making it like rubber. The pizza we ordered had nothing but tomato sauce with a leaf of basil. The crust was cold and chewy- again straight from the microwave. The rest of the dishes were small with bland taste. I would not recommend this place to anyone, who is looking for decent food. My husband and I love this local gem! It has a great atmosphere with a combo of dressy in the main dining area and more casual in the bar area. There are several tvs in the bar area if you want to watch a game, but they aren't loud enough to bother anyone in the main dining room. The food is alway s consistently good. We eat the salmon w/ pesto potatoes - amazing, spicy rigatoni - just the right amount of spice and tons of sausage, steak frittes - my husband came back two nights in a row bc they were SO good!! The french onion soup is some of the best you can get around. And they recently added a veggie ravioli w pesto sauce that is to die for - I hope it stays on the menu long term. Katie in the bar is a treat and always is quick with drinks and lots of laughter. Francisco, also in the bar area, is extremely welcome and polite and happy to help pick up the slack if the bartenders are super busy. read more

The biggest drawback of this place is that it is LOUD. Definitely not a good date place unless you really don't want to talk to whoever you're with. First and foremost this owner is now requiring you, the customer, to pay part of the staffs salary over and above the tip you provide. Check your bill. You have a 2.6% surcharge for prop 206. So rather than increase wages by a buck this owner has pushed that increase to the very people that keep him in business, his loyal customers. Despicable. Go somewhere that you are treated fairly. This is the WORST food and service we have experienced in years. The food and drinks at brunch were terrible. We were concerned with FOOD POISONING. My husband is a physician and was very concerned with the food preparation being below standards. The meat was very undercooked and the salmon app with cream cheese appeared to be left out because the bread was stale and the salmon had a foul smell. I took one sip of three different drinks (bottomless) and couldn't drink any of them. The champaign was warm (being served out of a glass jug, not a bottle), the sangria was watered down, and the margarita was overly sweet and bright green with food coloring. Local bistro in Scottsdale was a nice welcoming change to your franchise Italian Restuarant. It is $$ on the prices but you get good service and wonderful meals. My wife ordered the French Onion soup. It had a wonderful balance of broth and onions as well as a heaping layer of gruyere cheese which toppled over edges of the bowl. Great way to enjoy some cheesy goodness. Croutons were a nice addition. - -4 stars Also, if you don't a want the large portion of the steak and salad, get the side salad and add the sirloin steak (additional cost) and you have a balance meal and full filling meal with the French Onion Soup. - Steak comes made to order so make sure the server knows how you like your steak. 3 1/2 stars. I had the TAGLIATELLE Bolognese sauce (beef, veal and pork). It was wonderful. The three meats had a nice balance. You can taste the meat but it's not over powering the other meats. The deep red tomato sauce was perfect and the hand made noodles were wide and al dente. Perfectly cooked and the noodles soaked up the sauce. - 5 stars Dessert was the "espresso". Homemade Tiramisu layered in dish that can shared by two people or if you are "glutton" for punishment, eaten by one. Dessert was more custard like and we expected a more traditional tiramisu. It was little too sweet and almost too creamy custard like. Yummy but only 3 1/2 stars. Note: Noodles are gluten free Service - 4 stars Our server was attentive but at times we had to wait a little bit longer to ask for something. Not his fault because we went on a Thursday and the NBA Finals were on at the bar - so it was really busy. Overall this place was alright. The service was good, but the food honestly was very hit or miss. We ordered the calamari and it was extremely chewy, it took forever to even bite through it, there was also fried lemon as part of the dish, overall the calamari is a do NOT order. The wild salmon was pretty good and whipped potatoes were good as well. The wild mushroom pizza was just lacking flavor, it was very basic and didn't taste that great. We ended up having a drink at the bar while we decided where to head to brunch; the bartender was awesome. She made a suggestion for brunch and even gave one of my friends his drink on the house for his birthday! And let's talk about these drinks; they were GREAT!! I had the spicy peach margarita, a friend had the pear martini, another friend had the cucumber mule, and the last just a whiskey on ice. We received no advance notice that there would be a delay but when we arrived we were told that we would not be able to be seated for 45 minutes because the "kitchen was backed up." The place looked cool but when the manager came over he was dismissive to us and another party who were also being told that they had to wait. So, what would have made this situation better? It would have been nice to have been offered a drink while we waited or told why there was an issue. I was all ready to have empathy but instead felt like we were inconveniencing the staff. There's a whole Curb Your Enthusiasm episode on this, and this was not as funny. Additionally, the location was impossible to find as there was no sign out front. On a bed of mashed potatoes with pesto that was a super interesting combination. My friend had a chopped salad also with salmon. She was very hungry, finished and ordered another salad immediately without the protein!!! The restaurant was super busy. The staff was super efficient. Everyone was so pleasant. Beautiful outdoor patio partially enclosed so you don't have to look at a parking lot. Have been here three or four times this season and continue to enjoy everything about this place. The restaurant is deceiving because it is in grocery store parking lot but they have done a wonderful job of enclosing it with lush trees on the patio. The inside is beautiful: modern- warm- inviting-light ambiance on point . The pastas- pizzas-entrees-etc. are amazing- cocktails as well. We have been for dinner with family- date night and girls brunch- brunch is out of this world with live music and a must is the creme brûlée oatmeal. This is a fabulous place if you're seeking out an all-you-can-eat Sunday Brunch. For $32, you get made to order appetizer choices--as many as you'd like--along with a breakfast entree. We've done brunch at more "upscale" places (Wrigely Mansion) for double the price, but I can tell you that the quality of food here beats it any day. For appetizers, you can't go wrong with the sausage lollypops (as good as it sounds!) and the grilled bacon steak. There's are a dozen appetizer choices, order as many as you'd like, all are terrific! Then the hard part is choosing your breakfast entree, so many great choices. I opted for the Nutella French toast while my wife had the Backyard Burger--we shared both. For another $15, add all you care-to-drink cocktails, and I can't think of a better place on a Sunday morning. They also have live music with an open-air feel within the restaurant, or you can choose to sit outside. If you'd rather watch the football game, you can also sit in the bar area. Prices are not displayed on the menu anymore and I was shocked the eggs Benedict (which consisted of one egg, half an English muffin and no Canadian bacon or any other type of meat) cost $32. Service was slow. The live music made conversation almost impossible.
