I was introduced to Local Kitchens from a Yelp Event and am so happy that I was! The concept of having multiple restaurants under one roof is amazing. This allows groups of picky eaters to find something that everyone will like -- a constant struggle with my social circle. The online ordering process was seamless and the order was ready when I arrived in 15 minutes. Parking was easy and when you walk in, you see the status of your order. The employees are nice and I liked how the entire pick up process was simple even though it seemed to be a busy time for them (6:30pm on a Tuesday evening). Outside, there are only two tables so don't expect to eat here. We ate in the car and most of the food was still pretty warm. - Proposition Chicken: Fried Chicken Entree (4/5) The entree comes with a drum, thigh and 1/2 breast. I wish you could order the drum a la carte because it was my favorite piece. The meat was extremely tender, juicy, and perfectly cooked. Additionally, the breading was  thick, airy and crispy. I'm not a huge fan of the thigh or breast so if they allowed a la carte ordering, I'd honestly be here every week! Thankfully, the meal came with a cucumber salad so it was refreshing to eat while eating something heavy like fried chicken. Cornbread was also included, but it was dry and the texture seemed like it was sitting there for a while. - Curry Up Now: Holy Moly Fried Ravioli (4/5) The appetizer was still pretty warm when we received it so the cheese was still gooey which was nice! I just wish that they had a marinara sauce. I really enjoyed the ravioli themselves, but thought that the tikka masala dip they included was a bit too heavy when combined with the fried ravioli. - Glaze - Chicken Thigh Teriyaki (2/5) Unfortunately, I wasn't a huge fan of this entree since the chicken was extremely dry. The food was also cold so maybe the chicken was sitting out for a while. We only ate a few bites, but later that evening, it tasted better after we microwaved the meal. The teriyaki sauce and sesame sauce were the highlights of the meal. Thanks Jessica, for resolving this issue so promptly and generously, and for letting me know what the difference between ghost kitchens and micro food halls are. I didn't expect it, but am very appreciative. As mentioned below, will definitely be back to give this place another shot. ORIGINAL REVIEW: It's hard to give this place a rating because it's really a ghost kitchen for a variety of restaurants -- I've ordered from Sushirrito and the shawarma place and had two completely different experiences. Love the shawarma place -- I had a chicken and falafel wrap and it was DELICIOUS. I almost wanted to go back the next day to get it again. It's self-order, so there's not really much customer service to speak of. That experience was 5/5 stars. The second time, I got the salmon poke Sushirrito -- it ended up being about $17 and it was the biggest waste of money IMO. Bland salmon, and when the workers cut it in half, all the aluminum foil ripped into the poke and I had to pick out pieces from both halves for 5 minutes. I wasn't expecting a Michelin star experience by any means, but for $17 bucks I at least expected the aluminum foil to stay on the outside of my food! I WOULD go again -- there's a lot of variety and seems like a good place to take picky eaters. This time I got the chicken strips and some fries for my kiddo as well as a veggie burrito for the wifey. They enjoyed both. My son was commenting how he likes the chicken more than the fries, which was... a bit atypical of him. So I had a bit of the chicken strips and it was really well done. I know... it's chicken strips.. but it was somehow made so it's really really crunchy, yet didn't feel oily. So thankful for these Yelp Elite events where they give me many opportunities to try new places and foods! To order, you go to their website where there are several different food places with a variety of foods - burritos, grilled chicken, shawarma, chicken tikka, coffee, ice cream, all sorts of foods!!! I recognized some of the places whenever we went to any food truck events. This was awesome! Being indecisive, it was difficult for me to choose what to order. I ended up going with the chicken tikka burrito from curry up. Boyfriend ordered the chicken sandwich and I ordered pork nachos from senor sisig. SO incredibly excited that this spot opened up! Came for a Yelp event and have found my new go to spot :) It's absolutely perfect for a group of indecisive friends or if everyone is feeling different foods. I'm a huge fan of señor sisig (the closest one to me was in SF originally) and am so glad they opened up here! A few things: 1) Parking is limited so make sure to carpool (either on the street or in the parking lot behind the restaurant - shared with a few of the neighboring restaurants). There's also not any indoor seating / limited outdoor seating so it's best to grab and go! 2) Order online via their website ahead of time - it'll take less than 20 minutes for your order to be ready. 3) You have to try the tosilog burrito (sweet Filipino pork goodness) and the loaded nachos (if you're not lactose intolerant). Nice concept- I loved the idea of being able to add dishes from multiple menus into one cart. The online ordering was quite straightforward and pickup was a breeze. We tried the vegan plate from sajj and the fake chicken entree. The vegan plate - Sajj Yellow rice with chickpeas, cauliflower and eggplant, falafels, pita, hummus and salad . It was alright. The dishes in the combo lacked flavor. The fake chicken entree- Proposition Chicken BBQ tofu with side of salad and sweet buttermilk biscuit It was really delicious. Tofu was cooked perfectly with the tasty bbq sauce. The buttermilk biscuit was heavenly. I highly recommend trying this dish or at least the biscuit as a side! Had a chance to go to Local Kitchens after hearing about it through a yelp elite event - and so glad I did! This place is essentially a kitchen that serves food of like 7-10 different restaurants. You can say its a one stop shop for different cuisines - mexican, american, mediterranean - all the way to just simple ice cream! It's pretty easy if you order online earlier and expect about a 20 minute wait for the food to be ready. I ended up ordering: *senor sisig burrito with pork - loved thissss. The meat was flavorful, the garlic rice was delicious and all the other things in the burrito just gave it more of a kick (the good kind). My mom tried this too and she loved it. Makes me want to try the food truck in SF just to see how the OG burrito tastes *fried chicken sandwich from proposition - Personally the fried chicken smelled a bit oily but the crunch was real. I think what I liked the most about this dish was the coleslaw it came with bc the flavors just went well. Overall a simple chicken sandwich though. The sage chips it came with were pretty yummy though Overall, really good experience & my order was ready when I got there. I would recommend others to check it out! The food 3/5: I ordered from The Little Chihuahua - a super burrito add avocado, shrimp taco, and chips and guac. The first thing I noticed is that they forgot my guacamole and gave me salsa instead. Although the salsa was good, the missing guac was a huge bummer! In my burrito I also didn't taste the super ingredients (sour cream, cheese, and guac) but I did get avocado that I added. The burrito itself was good, tasted clean and not greasy at all. The shrimp taco was good, very garlicky. I wish they offered hot sauce as well. I would come back to try another restaurant. I was super hopeful about the potential of having so many choices from Here. I had order senior sisig burrito which was good, but I ordered the cyo steak bowl from the Asia box portion and it was the complete opposite. The steak itself was so dry that it felt like I was eating beef jerky texture with rice. In addition, I had picked fish sauce for the marinate and didn't get that on the side or on the steak itself. So without the sauce, the steak became tasteless and dry....tried to eat but just couldn't after the second bite . This is a fairly interesting place. It's like a co-work space for restaurants. You have like eight different restaurants in a single kitchen. You order to take away, though there are two small tables outside (and a space heater for those chilly evenings) where I suppose you could eat. You can order via an app or via a tablet inside. He was welcoming and very helpful in explaining to me how the operation works and gave me suggestions re: some of his favorite dishes. I ordered the Green Falafel Pita-- absolutely delicious! The food is good. I like that you can get things from a couple different shops at one store front. I wish that they had a dedicated gluten free deep fryer. Ordering can be complicated. You can't call and talk to a person. You have to text. It's a whole thing. I don't love it and it's not something that happens quickly, but it's okay enough. I'd certainly give this place 5 stars for the convenience and quality of the food, but the ordering process was confusing and almost knocked this all the way down to 3 stars, but I guess I'm feeling generous today. One of my family's perpetual problems is getting everyone to agree on where to eat or get take away. it's not uncommon for me to make three separate stops to satisfy everyone's particular hankering. When this place came up as a Yelp Elite Event, I was intrigued by what I saw. I sent the website link to my family, and sure enough each person chose a different restaurant. I wasn't sure if it were really possible to combine all four selections into a single order, but indeed it can be done. One item each was selected from Senor Sisig, Wise Sons, Glaze Teriyaki, and Curry Up Now. Ordering was just a little confusing, however, and the pricing was unclear. For example, I ordered the Senor Sisig burrito, which is described as having a choice of pork, chicken, or tofu for a certain price. However, when selecting your options, in the "choose your protein" section it indicates that the meat items are an extra charge - $1.50 for pork and tocino, and 75 cents for chicken. So just choosing one of these protein items bumps up the price. Adding to the confusion is that the burrito description also says that it's made with adobo rice, beans, and pico de gallo, but under the "additions" section there's added charges for each of these items. So it wasn't clear to me what is actually included in the $10.75 base price of the burrito. Are these additions actually extra servings of these items? Or do you actually have to pay extra to get the burrito described at the top of the menu? The same confusion was repeated when ordering the club sandwich from Wise Sons - as described, the sandwich comes with pastrami, onion, tomato, and avocado, but these items are all listed as "add ons" during ordering. We suspected that the sandwich already comes with all these things, and that these "add ons" were just extra portions of those items, but it was unclear as we proceeded through the ordering process. Fortunately, there was no issues with the orders from Curry Up Now or Glaze Teriyaki. Anyways, I specified the order pickup time and made my way there to pick up the order. When I arrived, I saw my name on the screen indicating that it was ready, but had to wait for a few minutes while the fella at the counter helped someone else place an order. Nevertheless, it was a nice and efficient way to get diverse selections at a single location. The food was overall excellent, though I didn't actually get the right burrito. I ordered the Senor Sisig burrito, which has rice as the starch inside, but in the bag was the California Sisig, which has fries instead of rice. Still good, but I would have preferred the one with rice. I didn't bother to call to point out the error because I can see where the confusion could arise. Perhaps making the names less similar would avoid future problems - I'm sure this isn't the first time this has happened. The club sandwich from Wise Sons was very good, and indeed came with everything even though we didn't order any "add ons". From Glaze, the teriyaki salmon (no longer on the menu this week, it appears) was delicious, though perhaps just a little dry. The ghee makhni burrito from Curry Up Now was the highlight of the meal - juicy chunks of butter chicken with rice and chickpeas. So, this was a pretty neat concept and really did solve the "where do you want to eat" problem. This place is a fair way off my route to and from work, but it's worth the detour if it saves trips to multiple restaurants. This is a review for Sajj burritos. I really want to like Local Kitchens, since they have so many great options. But they just don't do it like the original restaurants. I looked at other reviews and I've seen other people also bring up the issue of not getting enough food/portion sizes. So I'm not sure if Local Kitchens actually takes their customers words to heart. I bought a build it yourself burrito and basically got all of the toppings available. I paid $16 in total including tax and tip. And seeing what I got afterwards, I feel scammed. I got the Chicken Shawarma Wrap. I was trying to order added avocado, added rice, and added arugula on top of the spring mix base. I saw and tasted no avocado, barely any rice and instead, a hard bite of tortilla, and only a sprinkle of arugula. Other Sajj locations have the option of toasting your burrito, so mine at Local Kitchens was both hard and cold. They literally only gave me ONE tiny container of garlic sauce and told me *when* I got my order that they were out of a couple sauces. So in total, it was hard, cold, and dry. And they gave me no napkins. Even though Local Kitchens is closer to me in Cupertino, I would tell other locals to just save the stress and go to the original Sajj in Sunnyvale. They give you delicious lentil soup for no charge, and they give you gallops of sauce/avocado, you get to add all the toppings you want, and they toast your burrito. They're the ones to ask you about your meal, instead of this location where you're the one that needs to ask. Adding a few minutes to your drive is worth it-- you'll get your money's worth and you'll be full for a few more hours. read more

Portions are getting smaller compared to the first time I ordered Local Kitchens. Add the delivery fees/tip and you get a large bill for very little food. Even though it's pricey for the amount you get, I still order delivery from here once in awhile because I'm lazy + like to get a variety of things at once (although the menu choices are starting to get old). However, can you please include BOBA STRAWS by default on orders with BOBA DRINKS? I know company's are cheap nowadays so you probably won't do that, so instead can you at least make the button to choose this option more clear instead of "add utensils", which is easily ignored and overlooked at the very bottom of the cart page. Include a button for "add straws" on the page where you order the boba drinks or in the cart. Imagine waiting an hour for your two Boba drinks to be delivered and not being able to drink them properly (luckily we had one metal boba straw at home). read more

I saw this place replace what used to be Pizza Hut and I was wondering, who moved into this place with the name of "Local Kitchens". At around the same time, I was looking at places to get food in Cupertino and I came across Senor Sisig. At first, I was thinking wait a minute, that's that popular place from SF, it's here now?! I searched it up, and that's when I learned more about this place. I recognized a ton of names on the website that they had. I learned that this is a place where they get the ingredients from the different food places and finish the cooking/assemble here for people the buy. That's why each of the restaurants have a more limited menu than their real locations and doesn't really support customization, but it was still insane to see the amount of options still available to order, times all the different restaurants you can pick from. In fact when you order, you can mix your order from any of the places you choose in one cart, which I love as I tend to always mix and match the items I feel like eating so I don't feel like I'm missing out on any one place. Senor Sisig tasted amazing, and Curry up now was good too but I think my burrito from there had a bit more rice than the rest of the curries and sauces. I am so glad Cupertino is getting more and more options, and this is definitely going to be one of my most visited places just due to the different items I can get. So I'm writing my review here for the recent Local Kitchens' Yelp Elite Event because I don't think there was a designated YEE page. It makes sense though, because I got to experience the full Local Kitchens process just as a regular customer would. Ordering is easy: Just go to their website (https://www.localkitchens.co/) and browse through the menus and pictures of food provided by the dining businesses they are supporting. Local Kitchens operates as a ghost kitchen for several popular local chains, including Sajj (Mediterranean food), Proposition Chicken (American/comfort food/fried chicken), and the Little Chihuahua (Mexican food). Those are the restaurants I ordered from. I selected a variety of items, both mains and sides, and paid online using credit card. Local Kitchens' site also allows you to pay via a mobile device (a la Apple Pay or Google Pay). I set my order for pickup as soon as possible, about 20 minutes. They also have a delivery option, which I didn't try out because I live pretty close to their Cupertino location and it gave me an excuse to leave my house after working at home all day. I got there right around 20 min after placing my order, and the status was shown on a large screen that they have by the cash register. I could tell that their space was designed to accommodate some dine-in for people who had just picked up their food, but for now, it's still empty due to COVID. All of the staff were wearing masks. My food was all very nicely packaged in a large paper bag which was stapled, as well as separate paper or plastic takeout containers for each item (including a paper bag for my falafels from Sajj. For example, I ordered 2 tacos from Little Chihuahua and they came in two separate paper takeout boxes, each labeled with a Little Chihuahua sticker and marked carnitas versus chicken. I did make a few substitutions, and I noted that Local Kitchens did a great job of observing those (no cabbage on my carnitas taco). My favorite foods were probably the LC street tacos. These weren't as cheap as regular street tacos are at about $5 each, but each was super flavorful and delicious. I also really enjoyed the Sajj falafels, which were very nicely sized at about 1.5in in diameter each, and a steal for $4 for 6. The falafels also came with a generous portion of garlicky hummus. The Proposition Chicken fried chicken sandwich was a bit disappointing because the accompanying side of chips were kind of stale. Also, it was much spicier than the description lead me to believe and rather underwhelming on taste, even though I added a side of ranch dressing. The coleslaw cabbage, which was packaged separately, had quite a bit of heat. I also didn't get to eat it until the next day, so the bread had dried out. I will try it again fresh in the future, but I feel like it could be brightened up with a slice of tomato. I also got the Proposition Chicken brown sugar Brussels sprouts, which were okay in taste, but I prefer my Brussels roasted or fried for crunch, whereas these look like they were boiled? They were definitely cooked through, but a bit softer than I like. Not cheap at $6 for the side. I really like the concept that Local Kitchens has going. I got invited to Local Kitchens as a part of a Yelp Elite event! There were too many choices from the menu that I had trouble choosing. I ended up placing my order online and set an ETA for pick up at 7PM on a Friday night. Pick up was super easy, and it wasn't too busy when I showed up. I pretty much got my order right away. My husband and I got the California burrito with pork and the Tosilag burrito. The burritos were really unique and tasty, especially the Tosilag one. It reminded me of a breakfast burrito, but I liked how much lighter it was compared to a normal breakfast burrito. The rice, meat, and egg in the burrito were all really flavorful, and the peppered vinegar sauce was surprisingly good. Despite how unique the Tosilag burrito was, I still liked the California burrito better. I especially liked having fries inside! I did think the pork was a bit dry though (reminded me of beef), and even though I got mild, some bites were super spicy! We also splurged extra and got some Humphry Slocombe ice cream - matcha snickerdoodle and honey graham. The matcha flavor tasted Americanized since it was more creamy than bitter, which I personally enjoyed (unpopular opinion... but I tend to feel like authentic matcha flavored ice cream is too bitter). The taste and chewiness of the snickerdoodle cookies in the ice cream was the best part! I also really enjoyed the honey graham; it was a flavor I've had good memories of in the past. It was a bit sweeter than I remembered, but the sweetness doesn't taste artificial. Overall, I really enjoyed eating both flavors together! Even though my husband and I both chose from Senior Sisig, I like the fact that Local Kitchens allows my husband and me to choose from different cuisines from the same restaurant. This is a very exciting concept that has multiple restaurants under one kitchen. I ordered Sajj because that's been my all time favorite. I had a very pleasant experience and the customer service was also pretty decent. The food was very tasty as always. I love pomegranate chicken and falafel platter by Sajj. It's very flavorful and delicious. We definitely need more of these kitchens that offer dishes from various other restaurants. I will surely come back to try other kitchens. I ordered the salmon sushi/poke bowl and it was maybe the nastiest worst meal I've ever eaten out, though I can't even say that I ate a meal because I could barely even stomach a couple bites. The nastiest part was the salmon, which had the color of cooked salmon despite being raw. It had an unnatural artificial bubblegum pink color to it. It's how I imagine raw salmon might look if it were preserved or aged or something. The taste was also nothing like any raw salmon I'd ever eaten before. I was too afraid to eat any more of it after the morbid curiosity that led me to at least try the first bite. The rice was also a horribly mashed up texture where there were individual grains identifiable, just a weird mashed rice. Also I requested no Wasabi aioli but the rice and salad tasted like Wasabi so I didn't eat those either. The five plantain chips in the bowl were good and I ate those. I also ate some shrimp tempura which were decently good though not very authentic, as they came with a very heavy aioli instead of a more typical dipping sauce which I personally would prefer. Merralis and Bob were happy and helpful as I walked in. I was busy in joying my curry burrito listening to my 4 friends say how great their food was. I smelled and looked their food and had to order whatever they had. I could not stop eating thought I would have be able to take home lots, but I ate lots no I ate way to much I ate like a pig and it was fun. Took home half a burger still happy still full. I have mixed feelings about this place! Love the concept. We ordered online and came to pick it up. Staff were friendly. I made a mistake when ordering and they were nice enough to offer a refund. :) We ordered from senor sisig and sajj. My family enjoyed the tosilog burrito, but the nachos were super salty and not great. I do appreciate them packing the cheese separately so it doesn't get soggy, that's super thoughtful. My chicken shawarma wrap however was a big miss. It was mostly pickled veggies inside and not much meat. It also didn't have any bold flavors besides the veggies which were a bit overwhelming. I was pretty disappointed since I've heard great things about sajj. 4 stars bc my bf enjoyed the tosilog burrito, but overall I'm not sure if it's something I would try again read more

I enjoyed the concept of this place and was excited to try out some new places in the South Bay area. The website is relatively easy to use and has options of different restaurants in one space making it pretty convenient and easy to get different food in one place. The people here are pretty sweet and are super attentive so there is nothing wrong with the service here. The food, however, tells a different story. I ordered from their "Proposition Chicken" menu and got all three wing flavors - honey mustard, buffalo, and bbq - and then their biscuit and brussell sprouts side. I was pretty excited to try out the wings but I was met with disappointment. The sauces have a super weak taste to them except for the bbq flavor. But the bbq flavor doesn't even taste like bbq at all... so there was no point in even getting this. There was also barely any meat on the wings so although they give you a good amount, the do not fill you up at all. The brussell sprouts were mediocre and had barely any flavor. The only thing that was good was the biscuit: it is unique and is a cross between a regular buttermilk biscuit and a corn bread. I am curious to try the other foods they have to offer here, but at the same time I am a bit hesitant after trying the wings I ordered today. I visited Local Kitchens in Cupertino because of the Yelp Elite event and had a great experience. First and foremost, I love the concept! Super seamless ordering experience given there are a bunch of different places to choose from. Based on how many options there were, it was super tough to choose but ended up going with Wise Son's and got the Bodega Bagel Sandwich (+ avocado) and Potato Latke's. The food was ok. I was a little surprised that the bagel wasn't toasted (maybe that's an option in the future?) and the avocado seemed like it had been sitting there for a while but the eggs were perfect and the garlic aioli sauce was chefs kiss. The Potato Latke's were good... but nothing special. Definitely interesting taste with the apple sauce to dip them in! Overall I thought wise sons was ok, good if you're looking for something different than your typical joint. Really looking forward to trying all the other places because of how many different options there are! Thanks for an awesome event. read more
